I was dreaming?

The crystal slowly began to break apart and disappear as Yuffie's eyes fluttered open. Her heart was racing as her nightmare came to an end. Her hand reached out grabbing at air as fresh tears streaked down her cheeks. Her throat tightened as a name trickled from her lips. "Yuri.."

She let her arm fall to the side as she remembered memories home. Her hands grabbed her head as she brought her knees to her chest. "Why is this so confusing!?" Those she knew here and those she knew from home. She unclenched her hand and looked at the white orb resting in her palm. It was real but it felt like she never left.

Wait.. Her eyes looked down at her chest. Things have certainly changed.

City: Dec. 20th morning

Yuffie wouldn't say she was adjusted but she wasn't going to spend her time mulling it over in a hospital room. It didn't surprise her that Mooshoo wasn't anywhere in sight and she was sure that he would eventually learn that she was back and come find her. He probably hadn't missed her anyway.

She walked through the city noting her two years of physical development. Would people recognize her? She was still the same height as before but her chest grew two sizes, and her eyes held the gaze of someone who has seen the passing seasons of war. Her hands went out and distinctly grabbed at her chest. She had to tell someone!

The spiky blonde couldn't help but take a step back as Yuffie bounded towards him. The hug just made him go stock still on top of that. What happened to her?!

"I uh...good to see you? Are you okay? You've been crystal for a week." He squirmed in her grasp, trying to get loose.

"OH! That's right. You don't remember me!" Yuffie pulled away with a wide smile. She didn't seem to concerned with his reaction as she continued talking.

"Cloud! You are never going to believe this! We become Friends!" She smiled widely though hearing her say friends might sound weird because it was a concept her younger self didn't really understand. In her mind Cloud, Tifa and everyone were her first friends. "Then we save the world!"

She wasn't going to mention evil ShinRa. Yuffie was well away how much Cloud fawned over Sephiroth here.

Friends? Friends with the thief ninja girl? He always thought she was a little off her rocker but this just made her sound all the more crazy.

But she was from Gaia. And she looked different than she had in the crystal state. Was it possible for people to return home and come back?

"We...what?" Wait...save the world? "So I....I become a hero?"

"Yeah, Yeah." She waved him away with a smile. "Tifa was there too! And the others." Yuffie knew that he would be more interested in Tifa and she really didn't want to start spouting nonsense about the future without talking to Tifa first.

If she was lucky she would be from her future if only to gloat since Tifa had been so kind as to leave out her kidnapping when she had asked a few weeks earlier. That was just mean.

She grinned up at Cloud. "Your kinda awesome. Though I totally saw it from the beginning." You know, after she stole your things.

"Others? What? Awesome?" Cloud keeps that dumb look on his face, but a small smile creeps across as his imagination runs off trying to make sense of this. "So what happened? Did I get into SOLDIER? Do I become a first class?"

Poor boy can't even fathom the destiny ahead of him.

Yuffie waved a hand. "Don't worry about any of that." She really didn't want Tifa giving her a hard time if she gave anything to crazy awake. Plus when she thought back about it the future sucked. It would be better if he was happy now.

"Why don't you tell me what I missed?"

"Oh, um, you were only gone for a week. Nothing big really happened." The words were out of his mouth before he could even consider what such a revelation might mean to the ninja. Time dilation is a bitch.

"But.. two years..." She looked at him realizing that she had changed but he had not. Her eyes widened and for a minute she might have looked a little too closely at him. "I.. Your right.."

Yuffie back up looking around the hospital room. "I wonder where Mooshoo went." Not that she expected the grumpy moogle to wait for her. Her eyes stopped at Cloud and she smiled again.

"We will get to know each other at some point." She stretched her arms to the side. "Really though? Just a weak?!"

"Yeah, that was it." He really wasn't sure what to do with all this talk about back home and his future so he set it aside for the moment. "I think I saw Mooshoo in the hall. He seemed worried about you."

No matter how annoying someone is, they may miss you when you're gone. At least that was Cloud's read on it.

"Wait.. really?" She was obviously confused by that considering the two of them only ever fought. To think that he would be worried when he didn't even know if she would ever wake up.

Yuffie was touched knowing all the headache that she had put that little moogle through. "Alright well, Ill catch up with him. Later cutie baby Cloud." She waved and then walked out of the room in search for her moogle, not giving Cloud a chance to respond.
