Characters: Luffy, Yuffie, Yuna (OU) and Rikku.
Where: Heran Research Center.
When: 22nd January - 24th February
Summary: The Heroes of Light who were captured during the past event are now prisoner in this research facility. This post is for them to thread the scenes they want, according to the schedule.
Warning: Horror, science experiments, torture.

Luffy doesn't stir, simply remaining still as sleep has taken him and kept him in more of a hibernated state than one where he'd be up and leaping. Eyes flutter, but only barely enough to note that he registers the presence over his shoulder.

A gentle snore follows after, eyes clenching tighter and he shifts to turn his back to her while dreams keep him from returning to the waking world.

Yuffie lets out a little huff of annoyance at the boy’s motionless sleeping form. She didn’t know what it might take to wake him and she wanted to show him this. It was something small but it was something she wanted to share with the thick headed captain. It’s true that they have fought more than ever but it wasn’t her fault. She wasn’t the one punching the wall for no good reason. It’s not like she was about to give up either. They just needed a plan.

She shook her head tearing herself from her thoughts and pinched Luffy’s cheeks. “WAKE UP SLEEPY HEAD!” She pronounced each word dragging out the syllables as she spoke. She shook his head back and forth until finally letting go.

“Come on! I have something to show you.”

"WARBURHURGURBUHR!"

The way she pinches his cheeks causes Luffy's words to distort and come out as babble. Sitting up quickly, he raises a closed fit to knock Yuffie over the head, his lips puttering as he tries to regain control of his words.

"What's the big idea?! I'm trying to sleep!! You're gonna' wake up the dead if you keep doin' that!"

Yuffie tried to get out of the way of his punch but she was a little to close. She staggers back rubbing her cheek which ended up being the target of his fist. "Ow.. Why'd ya do that? I have something to show you."

She crossed her legs under her nursing her cheek with a pout. She looked up at Luffy hoping that he wouldn't go back to sleep.

"Now that your awake come here. I need to show you."

Luffy scoots off of the bed to move closer to Yuffie, pouting all the while and remaining stubborn as he pockets his hands into the waist of his pants.

"What is it? You find a way out or somethin'?"

Good, he was up and that was enough for Yuffie. She dashed over to her bed grabbing the cake with a wide smile. She sat down next to him making sure that he couldn't just grab it and stuff it into his face.

"This is for both of us. Got it." Her tone was firm before her expression softened. "It looks like they celebrate hearts day here and I've volunteered you to be my date. Which will get you cake." Yuffie knew that Luffy thought more through his stomach than through anything else.

The pirate merely blinks at the young woman, bouncing his head from side to side as he grumbles under his breath.

"Date? What does being a fruit have to do with cake?"

"I am surprised that you know what that is but not what a date is." She rolled her eyes. She knew she would have to explain it to her thick headed captain but she had a tiny bit of hope that he wasn't so dense.

"A date. It's when you go out with someone to celebrate that you like them. Usually people only date one person and its whoever the like most." She looked over at him hoping that would be enjoy for him to agree.

Luffy nods his head, half listening while his eyes are glued onto the cake.

"Mmmn-mmn. Why celebrate that you like some one? If you like 'em, you're already spending time with them, aren't you? But.. If it's the person we like most?"

Luffy's eyes go hazy for a moment, the unseen flowers and petals cascading behind him as he begins to reflect about the person he likes the most. It was obvious, the words were written on his face, the person who had captured both his imagination and his heart was some one of great importance to his crew and the livelihood of his friends. He could feel his beating heart swell, his breath catch as his mouth dropped open upon the epiphany.

"The person I like most.."

All he had to do was say their name, to confess how he'd felt after all these years, to let his feelings be known so that he could finally be free from the lack of guilt he felt for not professing it sooner.

"I like the Butcher the most. They're the ones who always have the best meats!"

"LUFFY!" Her head fell to the side. "Fine, if you don't want to be my date you get no cake."

Yuffie rose from his bed with the cake in hand walking away from his reach. Thank Gaia he wasn't made of rubber right now.

She felt lonely but she wasn't about to tell Luffy that. He was the sort to see things as they are but he couldn't understand something he's never felt. Absently Yuffie's mind went to the boy she liked and she wondered why she even did. He didn't like her and he was kind of stuck up.

"What?! No cake?! Why?! That's not fair!"

He gets to his feet, trying to come up behind her to snatch the cake away from her so that he might at least leave a crumb or two for her to enjoy.

"Come on! You can't let me starve in here, Yuffie! You've gotta' give enough food for your Captain, okay?!"

"Why should I? This is for my date today."

She jumped away barely missing the wall so that his finger tips couldn't reach the plate or her out stretched arm. Her hand pressed against his chest as she tried to move away realizing that his arms were much longer than hers even without turning to rubber.

She smiled pulling the cake just out of his reach with a grin. At this rate the cake might end up on the floor but Yuffie didn't really care. It was funny seeing her captain run after food and she knew it was a weakness of his.

"That was close. You almost made me drop it!"

"Come on! I'll be your data or whatever you call it, okay? Just gimme' some cake!"

He paws for it, just barely letting a finger trim the plate it's set upon. Try as he might, with arms waving about in a barrage of wriggling, the plucky pirate is unable to get some much as a crumb away from her.

"I'll still eat it even if you drop it! Cake is cake!"

Yuffie smiled as if that was exactly what she expected him to say. "Good! You're my date then." Of course they only gave them spoons to eat but Yuffie could easily cut the heart in half with that.

She went to go sit back on his bed holding the plate out so he could eat his share. "Only half of it." After that warning she started to eat her half spooning the light spongy cake into her mouth.
