One Day at a Time
Characters: Genesis "Genny" Rhapsodos and whomever Monty runs into (preferably those who've had CR before)
Where: Genesis' House
When: 09/11
Summary: Being unenhanced has its drawbacks. Her immune system, something that was lacking a little before, is now even weaker. Now Genesis has to deal with a bad case of the flu and being in an unfamiliar world!
Warning: None.
"...kupo? Kupooo?"
Genesis groaned as Monty continued to hover worriedly over her, she waved him away as she curled up in her bed. She shivered with chills but she felt so warm too, her throat dry and scratch and her chest hurting from coughing so much. She knew she was sick, but there wasn't anything she could do about it. Of course, she wished she had foreseen this. She really should have, given her health in the past prior to mako enhancements.
"Monty, just go away," She murmured into her pillow. "Can't sleep with you whining."
"But you're sick, kupo! What do should I do?"
"Being quiet is a start."
"Kupo!" Monty, instead, went a different route. He went away, like she asked, but instead, left the house to find someone that she might know who could help her. Maybe have some medicine? He didn't know.

"What's the matter, kupo? Where's your hero?" Mogington turned around to regard Monty.
Angeal stopped what he was doing to listen through the open window in the kitchen that overlooked the garden. He knew that something was wrong when Monty showed up by himself and Genesis wasn't anywhere to be found.
no subject
Monty was exaggerating, but he didn't think about how that would go over the others' heads. But he truly thought Genesis was going to die from her sickness, even though the possibility really was evident.
no subject
He emerged out of the house in hurried steps and called out to Monty. "Take me to her."
He wasn't about to waste any time if she was in danger of dying.
no subject
Genesis heard the door slam open from Monty shoving it open and she jumped, nearly throwing herself into another coughing fit as she shouted. "Monty, I thought I told you to-"
Angeal was here. She groaned and flopped back onto her bed, muttering a curse into her pillow.
"See! But don't get too close, kupo! The plague is highly contagious, kupo."
no subject
"I'll take care of this. It would do us no good if you are sick as well. Guard the front doors and make sure that no one enters." He said pointedly at Mogington who was more than happy to oblige in the given order.
He let out a soft sigh and shook his head. "They don't understand that it's just a cold." He turned to face the ill stricken Genesis. He had a feeling that he may have to wrestle the pillow from her grip. "Let me see."
no subject
The pillow he was trying to pull free and she smacked his hand. And continued slapping it when every tug. She wanted her damn pillow, damn it! No one was going to take it from her!
Of course, her "slapping" were rather pathetic taps and hardly did anything. Even Scholar Genesis wouldn't feel much.
no subject
"Give me..." Angeal huffed and groaned through the struggle that Genesis was giving him. "I can't help you if you won't let me."
Angeal thought to yank the pillow from her grip but then that would mean risking the destruction of a perfectly good pillow and he certainly didn't want to clean up chocobo fluff down feathers either.
no subject
"I didn't ask for your help, I'll be fine."

Her eyes focused on the bedroom window as she stood on an outside tree branch. A bucket of water balancing on top of her head. Her smile widened as she jumped across the gap, the bucket staying perfectly steady on her head. She slid the window up easily and entered, stopping with one foot still hooked on the window frame. Her eyes going wide at the sight in front of her.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO HER!" Angeal appeared to be doing something unspeakable to the poor girl and Yuffie's face promptly turned bright red.
The young teen flailed and tumbled to the ground, sending the bucket of water over the two.
no subject
He has no words but his expression is clearly one of shock the moment the water splashed on him from the bucket that was once balanced on Yuffie's head.
no subject
Well, he certainly failed at the warning, Lester flailing behind him. But at least it was just water? Right?
Genesis raised her hands to stop the water from hitting her face, although Angeal's bulky frame blocked most of the water. But now her sheets were wet and her night gown was a little wet and "H-achoo!"
She flopped back on her pillow. "She knows where I live now and the mother chocobo is here. Ugh."
no subject
"Are you sick?" Not that she cared because of course she wouldn't care about someone who was so mean to her earlier.
no subject
He wrapped her up fast and lifted her out of the soaked bed to take her to the living room without a second thought. At least he could get a fire going to help her. "I'll get the tea started."
no subject
She didn't have any firewood for a fire, though. The moogles fluttered after them and once she was deposited onto the couch, she pulled herself from the blanket. "Tea isn't really necessary, Angeal. Besides, I don't have any."

Her own moogle was off on a wayward quest for her and hadn't come home yet.

Then, he paused and pointed a tiny paw at her. "You're a healer! Can you help her, kupo?"
no subject
After that she followed the frantic moogle to Genesis's home.

He took off as soon as she was out of the house again, leading the young woman to Genesis' house. He threw open the door and led her to the bedroom, where Genesis was curled up around her pillow and in the sheets, having thrown off the big comfortable when she felt too warm. "Monty, I thought I told you not to bother me!"
Genesis didn't see Zelda, she was too busy talking into her pillow at Monty.
no subject
She ducked out of the room for five minutes so that she could run down stairs with her bag tightly in hand. When she reappeared her skirt was pulled to the side and her sleeves were rolled up. In her arms she held a damp cold rag. "You should lay back."
no subject
"Thank you, captain obvious," She muttered into her pillow. She was sick so she was allowed to be in a bad mood. Although she might apologize later for it. When Zelda returned, she peeled her eyes open and rolled over onto her back. "I just need some medicine and sleep, it's nothing."
no subject
"I'll make you some soup and then we need to clean your pillow and sheets. Or your just going to make yourself more sick."

It took her about twenty minutes to prepare and cook the soup. She was used to working quickly and picked a tomato soup that didn't take long to make. She ladled the soup into a large bowl and then carried it up stairs to Genesis. Since Genesis had to sit up to eat so Zelda figured she could replace the pillow case and sheets while she did.
She entered the room with a smile and set the steaming bowl of soup next to the bed on the nightstand.
no subject
Not that she didn't want new friends, but it was hard to trust given what happened in the past. All this thinking meant she was quiet the entire time Zelda made soup and sat up when she returned. She moved the cold compress to the side, pushing her hair behind her ears as she did so.
"Thank you, by the way."
no subject
She moved towards the hallway and grabbed a spare pillow form the pantry before returning. "Here. Let me clean the sheets and pillowcases. If you don't you might make yourself more sick."
