[Ib is sitting on the steps in front of the history museum, a letter in her hand and a covered painting next to her. She's eying it somewhat warily. Rose is nowhere to be seen. Ib had wanted to do this quest all on her own, but now she's wishing that her moogle had come along.

It should be easy. Just deliver this painting to Jessie. It is easy. It's such a silly thing to be nervous about. The gallery... that was a long time ago. And it wasn't even in this world. Except... this world has a lot more magic and monsters than hers ever did.

She wonders if she should peek. Maybe if she saw the painting she'd feel better. Or maybe worse. Maybe she should ask someone for help? No, they'd only laugh. They'd think she was just a scared little kid. And she's worked hard to seem more grown up. So here she is, uncertainly glancing at the painting next to her.]

[It has indeed been a while and his memory of the girl isn't as good as he'd like. At least he remembers she's a hero. He smiles and squats down in front of her so he's on her level.]

That's good. How's it going? Taking a break?

[She looks away awkwardly, not wanting to admit that she's actually struggling with a quest like this.]

S-something like that. Um, what are you up to?

I was just out for a walk. It's been getting nicer out lately.

[He tugs the jacket he's wearing closed a bit self consciously. It's easier to ignore the persisting chill when he doesn't think about it.]

It has. I'll be glad when it's summer though.

[Her Red Mage outfit includes a cape to protect her from the chill. But she'll be glad when she can go without it.]

[Cloud was lucky enough to find a riding jacket that helped buffer some of the chill. It was part of his new Chocobo Knight gear though he left the armor portion at home.]

Yeah. It will be nice seeing what spring is like here. So what's the quest you were given? Do you need any help with it?

I'm taking this to Jessie.

[She points to the painting.]

I guess.... I should be glad she gave me an easy one...

[Except she doesn't look glad about that. But Jessie couldn't have known, so Ib can't hold it against her.]

Maybe. I've heard she can give people some pretty rough ones sometimes. At least she doesn't have you out fighting a fierce monster. I think I heard she asked someone to take on one of those hamsters for their own quest.

[Cloud hadn't had many dealings with her himself, but it seemed like she could be a very mean questgiver if she was so inclined.]

So what is it a painting of?

Really? That sounds scary...

[Ib never realized how hard some of the jobs were. She's heard awful things about those hamsters.]

I haven't checked. I didn't know if I was allowed.

[And in case it was something scary, she didn't want to know.]

[Cloud frowned as he looked at the subject of her courier quest.]

Well if it's all wrapped up then you probably shouldn't. Jessie would probably find out. She might let you look at it when you give it to her though.

[She also could have asked the staff of the museum when she picked it up, but he decided not to point that out.]

[She shakes her head.]

That's okay. I don't really want to know.

[Cloud raises an eyebrow, not sure if he believes that lack of curiosity. Still, it's her business, not his.]

Anyway, are you okay to get to Jessie's on your own? I don't have anywhere I need to be if you want some company.

I....

[That would make her feel safer... But is it just going to be a bother to him?]

If you really don't mind. I don't really want to go alone...

[Cloud offered her a friendly smile. It certainly wasn't a bother for him at all.]

I need to head that way anyway, so it's no problem at all. Do you want me to help you carry it?

[She would love that. But it wouldn't be exactly fair. She looks at the painting leaning on the steps for a moment then reluctantly shakes her head. It's not a terribly important quest, but she wants to earn the illusionist job fair and square.]

No, I'd better do it. If I can't even finish a quest like this, I'm not a very good hero...

[Cloud nods, understanding her drive and gives her a gentle smile. He stands up and offers her his hand to help her to her feet.]

Just because you want to be a hero doesn't mean you have to do everything by yourself. I had to learn that back home and the hard way. You're right to want to do this for yourself, but we're all here to help each other out and back each other up. My friend Zack helped me learn that.

This quest is all yours. I'll go with you, and you just let me know if you need any help.

[Ib smiles as she takes his hand. It was so important to her to be able to pull her own weight. But it's nice to hear that she can rely on her fellow heroes. That getting help doesn't mean she's causing trouble or let everyone down.]

Your friend Zack sounds really smart.

[She turns to pick up the painting.]

Okay, let's go.

[Ib still feels a little nervous carrying it, but is determined to get this done.]

[Cloud chuckled as the two began to walk.]

He usually sounded smarter than he acted. But everything he did he would do at his best. He would never hold back on anything, especially helping others. You should have seen how wound up he got when he was trying to help his girlfriend make a flower cart.

[Cloud honestly didn't like talking about Zack in the past tense, but until he woke up from his crystal slumber all he could do was hope and tell people about his best friend.]

[OOC: Works for me! She'll be very grateful that he helped her. When they're done, Cloud will get a hug for his trouble. And she also thinks Zack sounds pretty cool.]
