Esteban | open
If anyone approaches Ban when he looks around, he will greet them with an excellently forced smile, and speaks in his usual purring voice.]
With everything else going on, we could have at least had a nice day.

Truly. All this rain is just dreadful, wouldn’t you say?
[… Not that it took that much leaning up but why, under all the stars, did she have to end up with a human form that had her physically shorter than everyone else.]
no subject
I like rain well enough. You know, where I originally come from, weather doesn't even exist. So I've always enjoyed it while I was here and on Earth.
[That forced smile finally fades. It's too tiring keeping up the charade today.]
Today, though, it just seems like an ill omen.
no subject
Most importantly, it’s not fair dammit and you know it Ban!]
How strange...! [Venti makes a small sound, truly surprised. It's hard to imagine a world without weather to help sustain it!] So do I, but I prefer a spring rain myself. With it welcomes in life to all sorts of wonderful things, see.
[Like golden vegetables. Which are simply divine offerings for her birthday. In any case, neither of them can hold the facade for long. Ventuswill's expression turns wistful, her tone taking on a mature one.]
To think it wasn't so long ago that we could enjoy those fine days like before. [At least to someone like her, six years is hardly anything compared to a mortal's sense of time.] Perhaps... we all took those times for granted, wouldn't you say?

Re: Esteban | open
[He even had to use the Fenarian word for Sun; the Dragaeran word for 'sun' literally meant 'furnace'. They didn't even have a word for 'star'. Vlad had adapted since he'd arrived to the switch.]

We were never going to have a nice day, here. Bad things were always going to keep coming till there is nothing left. But... [She is trying her best to look on the positive side and slowly but surely she might be, if only for her sister, whom would probably still believe there could be. er voice perks up a tiny bit.] Doesn't mean one can't try for one after this is over.
no subject
Right. Of course! We have to stay positive or there will be no chance at all. I've gotten accustomed to this place, so I don't plan on giving it up just yet.
no subject
Stay positive... Even at tough odds. [She thinks she could do that. She wants to at least. After all her sister would want to, so why should she.]
We've been here a while, this place is like a second home. We need to protect it at all costs.

Re: Esteban | open
"Now, if the sky started spittin' out something interesting, that'd be a thing to worry about. Frogs and locusts are the cliche, aren't they?"
no subject
He thinks for a moment as he watches the rain again. "Wales... Never got to visit there. On Earth, my assigned areas were mostly in North America. I did get to visit the south of France on a vacation once, too. There was a lot more on Earth I wanted to see, but it usually depended on work."

[Her voice is soft and confident as she steps up behind the demon. They have been at edge with each other but she doesn't wish his death. At least not for the moment. Her expression is serious and her gaze distant as she stars at the pouring rain.]
Are you ready?
no subject
[Ban shrugs softly, and gives Hylia an appraising look, up and down.]
Mm... ready as I'll ever be, I suppose. The longer we wait, the harder things will get, and the more anxious everyone will be. What about you?
no subject
[Zelda's thoughts reach out to Hylia now. There were so many questions and feelings threatening the goddess and yet none of them showed on her face. It is odd but maybe this is due to the mission they face.
Shouldn't we offer comfort?
Hylia's head tilts to the side.]
I only hope that others are as well. We all have our own darkness to face.

It's just too bad, really. Perhaps we'll see better at the end of this.
no subject
Isn't it? Maybe we'll save the world, and the clouds will blow away and it'll stay sunny for weeks. So when that happens? Beach trip.
no subject
Indeed! Perfect. What better way to celebrate could we ask for? [he laughs, and smiles.] Have you a place in mind?

Re: Esteban | open
Maybe. Almost feels like we're about to be crushed by the sky.
[Midgar. Barret complaining about "that damn pizza". A city forever in shadow. Sector 7. And then Meteor after that.]
{What...what happened? Was that...?}
[Cloud winced as he heard the voice again. He focused on it, trying to push it away. Now wasn't the time.]
no subject
[Ban chuckled, but even he can't keep up his usual laid-back attitude about this, and it ends in a quiet sigh. He does notice Cloud wince, though, and Ban's head tilts in curiosity.]
You all right?
no subject
It'll be easier when we've finally turned the tide on this. [He sighed and rubbed his temples.] I'll be okay. Just a bit of a...buzzing in my mind. I used to have a...problems back home. I think it's just the stress.

What was that, dear?
