'no... that is not right!'
a voice she hadn't heard in a long time. her conscience? a funny time for it to start voicing doubts, and better left ignored. there was no turning back now, not after all this time when the wheels had finally begun to turn.
making a tight fist in front of her, she stood near the map, flexing and relaxing her hand as she stood there, staring at it. it wouldn't be long now... )

[Terra has been feeling it too. Her magic dances at her finger tips as she waits. She doesn't like waiting after all that's happened waiting has only ever lead to more disasters. She wants to face it head on and fight the threat with her own hands.
Why do I have to fight? Why do I want to?
The voice echoes just out of reach as Terra's gaze lands on the woman before her.]
no subject
Sitting around waiting like this does not suit me. ( and then a flick of her eye, just enough to catch sight of terra. ) You would put so much effort into the survival of these humans, esper?
no subject
Effort, no but I do so wish to fight.
[On that much they agree though the voice inside Terra's head felt dread from her own words.
We should help them.
She tried to force the voice away and the feeling that came with it. It was as if someone was within her and it wasn't a feeling Terra was comfortable with. She wasn't going to be controlled again.]
no subject
the calamity would continue. she was going to see to that. )
It will be no small feat to come out of these tasks successful. I wonder if the heroes of light are up to the task.
no subject
[Terra has no plans to either continue or stop the calamity. She craves the fight and is drawn to the power the the calamity holds.
Don't we want to stop it? To save our home?
She feels herself grunt at her other self's words. What has their world ever done for her? Enslave her? Use her? No, she doesn't want to save that.]
The heroes will most likely prevail.
[If only because they have no more left to lose. So much has been lost.]
no subject
( there is nothing wrong with helping... if everyone can try together, then...
it is foolish. be gone with you, intrusive thoughts... your words will not be heeded this day. )
no subject
[That is what she knows. She knows how people think and act. It's never proven her wrong in the past. She turns away from Shizel listening to the voice in her thoughts.
People can surprise you. They can be strong too.
Her eyes close wishing the innocent voice away. That isn't this world anymore and she's lost her humanity along the way.]
I will you luck then.

It didn't take her long to look over toward the other.]
I guess you want to get going as soon as possible?
no subject
( on one hand, her blackened fingers drummed softly on the sleeve of her gown -- ) The preparations were made long ago. Now is the time to see them through.

I agree patience is always a good thing, and we have a month in before this world world turns to crystal, but even most of us know that now is the time. [She glances back up.] Hopefully within the next few hours things will go into motion.
no subject
It is good to see that the majority of us that remain have finally agreed to take action. Everyone will have their own part to play. Even you. Even... me.
no subject
No world is truly doomed. My home world was destroyed once, but now before all of this it had once again become a world full of beauty. Just because one sees the world as doomed doesn't mean that is actually the case.
[It was because of her sister that it all happened, she couldn't help but give a small smile as she had spoken.]
That is why we take action now, because we all have the hope that things can be fixed. That they can go right. Just some have that belief more than others.
no subject
( there was the smallest of sadistic grins playing at the corners of her lips -- ) I wonder.

[The woman's nervous gesture is not lost on Dycedarg as he approaches. Now is no time for regrets. He cannot speak directly about their plans. He'll not risk exposure after so many years of planning. But he would not have gotten as far as he did, both in Ivalice and in Crystallis, if he were not able to avoid detection.
He approaches with two glasses of blood-red wine. He offers one to his ally.]
Are you prepared, Shizel? There is great work to be done soon.
no subject
I have been ready for quite some time. ( she brings the glass to her lips, as gaze lowers. the true meaning of her words goes unspoken but for the glint in her dark eyes, one that dycedarg would likely catch and understand the meaning of. ) All of the efforts and research we have put into this world will finally come to a head.
( years she'd spent studying the crystals properties, and the different magics in this landfill of a world. wading through a sea of idiots in order to learn what she needed...
she brought the glass back up to her lips again, watching him over it's rim -- ) I'm sure that it will be quite the spectacle to behold.
no subject
[Dycedarg gives her a smile as she drinks. He takes a sip of his own, savoring the earthy flavor. It lacks the slightly bitter aftertaste of Shizel's glass...]
[Your own ally? There is no honor among thieves... He shrugs the thought away casually. Remorse is for the weak.]
Your research could prove invaluable. You are certain it will behave as we expect?
[If the Black Crystal did not respond the way they predicted, the spectacle they beheld would be quite different than the one they hope to see.]
no subject
And this group that has assembled -- can they be trusted to do what is... expected of them?
no subject
[The smile turns into a smirk. Shizel has made one very big mistake, drinking what Dycedarg gave her...]
Of course. There is no one more...reliable...than a true Hero. [Or at least, no one as predictable.] I cannot imagine any of them would falter from their course.
no subject
( though when she said it now, it was slightly less condescending than a moment ago. perhaps she was even a little, dare we say sincere?
U sunn miba... Shizel had friends in Crystallis, too.
Friends? Don't make me laugh... )
I suspect our endeavour to be mutually beneficial. ( and adding under her breath -- ) Which is more than I can say for many of those in this world.

Re: shizel | open
(An energetic voice sounds from behind, as Rikku bounds over. The beads at the end of her braids make faint clicks with her steps. She takes note of the woman's clenched fist, passing it off as nerves for what they are all facing.)
Shizel, that map keeping you in good company?
no subject
"It is all the company I need," she responded coldly.

With everything going on, who could blame someone - maybe becoming cold and distant and...cruel was a defense mechanism? The thief hated being alone - it was hard for her to believe anyone could truly want that. She shrugged the insult off, lacing her hands behind her back and looking at the map to try to find whatever was so intriguing as she rocking from heel to toe.
"Is this your first fight?"

It was still a terrible feeling though. Like a sickness that washed over her before every major battle, tying her stomach and soul into knots. "I hope so."
