Where you were or what you were doing— It does not really matter. Not any more. Within an instant, the world around you collapses. Reality twists and shatters... Or maybe you are the one who is collapsing and shattering away from reality as you knew it. No matter what the answer is, it will only take a few seconds for you to find yourself sinking into a void, your world vanishing into the distance. There is nothing but darkness as far as the eye can see. Even you feel different: all the powers you might once have had, are now gone. It is silent, cold and it feels as though life itself is slipping out of you.
At this moment, when it looks as though nothing but a never-ending void awaits you, a red Crystal forms before you. In this void, its warmth compels you to grab it. Upon doing so, you can hear a soft, soothing voice speaking:
"Wake up."
Soon, the void itself vanishes and is replaced by distant noises of engines. Had it all been nothing more than a dream? The soothing voice repeats its call one more time, but is soon replaced with a much less graceful "Wake up Kupo," the call of the Moogle finally waking you up. But you are no longer in your world, nor in the void. You are before the Crystal of Fire, in the third district of a city called Aqures Ixen. At this point, you may realize the engine noise actually originates from an Airship flying low over the city and headed to the castle. As if it wasn't strange enough, your clothes have changed as well. They are now a reflection of the Jobs you are wielding. Last but not least, you are surrounded by Moogles, small and fluffy creatures who are more than happy to tell you about everything you want to know, about your 'destiny' as a Hero of Light, about what awaits you.
Or at least, they will tell you everything they do know, which isn't much in the end.
The only people around you are like you-- There are quite a few of them, all clothed in their Job garbs and most likely wondering what is happening. If somehow you do not realize it, the Moogle who woke you up will be more than happy to inform you there are others like you around. In fact, there are other Heroes who arrived these past months too and they will come soon! Like you, they had Jobs and a Crystal-- Wait, you don't have a Crystal...? That's weird.
Your Moogle will be puzzled by this fact, as all Heroes of Light are supposed to have a crystal with them. Well, maybe you are not a Hero of Light after all?
The Other Heroes
— Shortly Thereafter —
Thanks to the efficiency of Mognet, it does not take long for the other Heroes to come around: those who arrived in this world one or two months ago. You may have imagined heroic and charismatic figures when your Moogle told you that there were other Heroes of Light in this city. You may have imagined persons with fearsome powers worthy of being revered as heroes. And more importantly, you may have imagined them as people who would have all the answers to your, doubtlessly, numerous questions.
If so, you may be up for a minor disappointment. Still, for the most part they know more than you on the situation and may be more than happy to fill you in, especially if your Moogle didn't tell you much.
The Night of the Thirteen Moogles
— Anytime —
Something that may be obvious, is that the city has a spooky feel to it. There are various decorations, it clearly looks like a work in progress but it seems the idea is to make the city looks as scary as possible. Characters familiar with Halloween may recognize the decoration as being strikingly similar. The Moogles will be more than pleased to explain these are all preparations for the upcoming Night of the Thirteen Moogles on the 31st, and they will explain the legends to characters if they ask.
Hopefully all this talk of curse and King Moggle Mog is nothing more than legend.
The City of Aqures Ixen
— Anytime —
There are a lot of things left to do in the city, especially with everyone excited for the upcoming celebration. Starting from 18:00, a series of BLitzball games will take place at the stadium located in the tenth district, opposing amateur teams in a friendly competition. At the same time, a small group of Triple Triad players are playing before Mognet Office in the ninth district, and they are more than happy to teach the rule to anyone passing by. Characters are free to enter and play games of Triple Triad, and if they do so they will be given very basic cards and explained the rules. This may be the start of a promising career!
Characters are also free to visit the city-- Be it Mognet Office just behind the Triple Triad games is filled with very busy Moogles, or the Airship Port in the twelfth district from where characters can board for free Airships from Shoopuf Airline, knowing the next airship departing from Aqures Ixen will do so on the 9th. Still, characters can board an exposition Airship should they like and visit it.
Or maybe you could visit your new house in the 11th District, and get to know your new neighbors and housemate. Hopefully your neighbors are people you will get along with.

feel free to tag in [action]!
That truly served to grant him a sheer sense of confidence. All confusion was completely and utterly diminished.
Sarcasm aside, he was grateful to have some source of information. Michiko did take the time to explain in a polite tone, everything that she could. Not everything required an explanation, however. During his time exploring the city, he realized that he felt...stronger. When he thought about a sword, he somehow knew what he needed to do to craft it. The same could be said about any type of armor -- which, he was somehow able to form a mental list of different types of. Apparently, the clothing he was wearing was due to his the other ability he possessed. Which was to call forth powerful beings, to aid him in a fight.
Interesting, though he didn't appreciate having to walk around in the thick robes.
With that, he continued his exploration. He made sure to take the time to speak to various people, asking them whatever questions they'd allow him to. No matter what sort of response he received, from his greeting, he managed to remain polite. He didn't have time -- nor the mentality, if he were to be honest with himself -- for pointless conflict. There were more important things on his mind. While Michiko had been more than helpful, he still wanted to learn everything possible about the...strange, new setting.
{ around the city; any time is welcome }
Hours later, he felt less shocked. The reality had sunk in, and he was already forming his own theories, as to why he was there. The decorations were fascinating. After hearing the interesting tale, he took a moment to think on it. Well, it wasn't as though he held evidence to prove or disprove the legend. Decidedly leaving it be, he moved on to explore the city...
He took the time to check out everything from Triple Triad to Blitzball. Politely declining the offer to participate in the former, he continued to take in the sights. He wasn't particularly interested in playing games, considering there was the matter of him, supposedly, not being on the correct planet, at hand.
{ 11th District }
At the end of the long day, he decided to follow the advice of Michiko, and make his way to the 11th District. Even after getting there, he took his time getting to his, apparently...assigned...home. It truly seemed everything was, mostly, lined up, for him. The one in charge of everyone being there, had truly taken the time to think everything through, perhaps. Whatever the case, he planned to further investigate the situation...after he took a moment to
re-examine his own sanitythink over everything he'd learned, that day. Then, after making his way into his own home, he was going pause to take a deep breath. After that short breather, he made his way further inside and looked around. Strangely enough, it didn't seem like a home awaiting a new person. It appeared to already be inhabited. Turning to Michiko, he tensed his brow.
"...Does someone already live here?"

The look that Gaara gave his Moogle wasn’t unkind, but did carry a hint of impatience to it. Yes, he did remain late at the hospital on some days, even after his shift had ended. He often visited Naruto, trapped in that crystalline state all of a sudden, without any explanation. Despite knowing that physically remaining in the room would do nothing to resolve the situation, it didn’t stop him from… well, hoping. None of the trapped individuals had yet to recover or awaken. It was akin to leaving, but in a much crueler capacity.
“I know, Karura,” he replied quietly, countering the scolding tone of her voice. Though, before they headed back to the 11th district… didn’t a number of new Heroes arrive on this day, the previous month? The last two worlds he had been in, carried similar patterns as well. Gaara couldn’t help feeling curious enough to investigate. There was a chance that he might encounter someone he knew, either from his home world, or…
He walked around along the edges of the crowd, not wanting to cut through it directly. With so many individuals that he didn’t recognize, it seemed as though they were new arrivals. Gaara took refuge in an inconspicuous location and quietly observed them, while Karura excitedly flew about, trying to intentionally gather attention.

"Hello...Would you mind if I asked you something?"
In that moment, a yellow moogle was flying up the to the pink one. She wore a curious expression, for a few seconds, before allowing that to shift to a friendly smile, "Hey, there, kupo! I'm Michiko! What's your name?"
Shun blinked over to his moogle, and then allowed a softened smile to appear. She certainly was a...friendly creature, wasn't she? By that point, he wasn't super surprised, considering how many times he had witnessed it, so far. She truly seemed to enjoy meeting people. Not that he would up and admit something such as that, he could...sort of understand that enjoyment. By nature, he was a curious individual. He enjoyed learning new things. New faces usually came with just that.
no subject
The stranger approached him with a polite inquiry, and Gaara replied just as formally, “Hello. No, I don’t mind. You must be a new arrival.”
“Hi, Michiko!” Karura happily greeted, and waved both paws at the other Moogle. “I’m Karura! I’ve never seen you before, kupo! Did your Hero just come today?”
From his position a few feet away, Gaara quirked a brow of amusement at the display. Well… it would appear that Michiko and Karura were somewhat similar in personality. He wondered, in brief passing, which one would out-talk the other. Poor Ion might be overwhelmed, if he was ever in the company of both female Moogles.
no subject
Candidly shoving his thoughts aside, Shun offered a light smile to the stranger. He gave a small, grateful bow of his head, "My name's Aonuma Shun. It's very nice to meet you, and I appreciate your time."
Then, just like that, his smile faded. A calm, but serious expression slowly made its way over his face. As he spoke, his tone easily matched the look he was giving, "Yes, I'm with the most recent group. Do you mind telling me what you know of the Crystals? I've already obtained what information I could, from Michiko," he gestured towards the yellow creature.
"I've learned that the Crystal is something every person declared a 'Hero of Light' awakens with. Not only that, but it is necessary to switch into an 'unequipped Job Class'," he said, his arms folding over his chest, "A Crystal is also necessary to utilize your Job Class, yes?"
Michiko wasn't paying a bit of attention to the conversation between the humans, for the time being. She smiled, happily, at the returned cheerfulness, "It's nice to meet you, Karura! That's a super pretty name! And, yeah, kupo! He came with today's group!"
Shun turned his head to blink a couple of times at the interaction. Almost immediately afterward, however, he gave a soft smile. He was glad to see her getting along with another of her kind. Maybe they could become friends.

Around the City
So much for that.
He was stopped clean in his tracks and jerked to a stop in mid-step before he narrowly missed walking into a girl, or what he thinks is a girl, dressed in summoner's garb. "You best return to your escorts, lady. There are those that could do you harm."
His tone was neither menacing nor meant in sarcasm but he was certain that "she" was going to get hurt in spite of his less than cordial appearance.
no subject
Unfortunately, it seemed he was no better with his reflexes, there, than he had been back home...
After opening his mouth to offer an apology, as a formality, of sorts -- he immediately stopped as he heard those words. Well, it was more like...one word. There was no mistaking that the man had made a very wrong assumption. He allowed his expression to remain calm...aside from the hint of a wry smirk. Well, the mistake did remind him of some of the things he'd heard out of his classmates' mouths. By that point, he'd become fairly aware of the fact that he wasn't, exactly the most masculine person within the male gender.
"While I appreciate your concern, I believe you've made a mistake, sir."
no subject
His views were simple. Women wore dresses, men wore armor. It was this archaic view that limited him greatly on a social standpoint. He moved to the side to give way, at least he could relent the walking space.
no subject
Following the lead of moving off of the walking path, he was clearly not finished speaking. Glancing to the side, he pondered if Michiko was still busy. He'd sent her to take a break, all but having to force her into it. While he appreciated her help, he was in possession of the flute.
"I'm from a place called Earth. Have you, by any chance, ever heard of there?"

Right after waking up
"Hello. Do you know where we are?" Her voice was calm and soft as she hoped to learn more about her own situation.
no subject
He never would have guessed it would come in handy, in a situation, such as the one he'd found himself.
His tone matching his expression, Shun nodded to the question that was asked, "It seems we're in a place called Crystallis -- or, more precisely, a city called Aqures Ixen," he started with bit of a wry smile, "That's all Michiko has told me, so far."
As he said that name, he gestured towards the yellow moogle; said creature offered a friendly smile and wave. Shun glanced to the furry being, for a moment, and then back to the stranger. With a somewhat gentle tone, he continued, "May I ask where you last remember being?"
no subject
"I was dying on Pulse." Her tone didn't hold any hint of sadness, only a ring of truth.
no subject
"Dying..." Forcing his expression to resume looking calm, he nodded, "And you no longer feel that way, here?"
Considering she had used past tense, he was making a guess that she was...fine, suddenly? Just like him...

Re: Right after waking up
"It's not home but... hey could be worse. Could be dead, right?" he says, turning his head to crack his neck. "Could use some food though. Kind of a lame greeting for dumping a buncha people into a world and saying "Hey, go save the world.", right?"
What a great conversationalist!
Lets do this here :)
Hibi just stared at her hero. "Your hungry, kupo."
"Caius gets me food."
Lets do this here :)
"Well... are you Caius?" he asks, responding to her Moogle first. He was getting a feeling communication was going to be an adventure with this one.

Genesis, who was in the kitchen making herself some lunch, nearly jumped out of her shoes at Monty's sudden yelling about an intruder. She was armed with just a ladle from the soup she was making and she held it with her as she made her way to the living room where Monty was causing a racket and found a rather unimposing teenager at her doorstep with his own moogle.
She sighed and rolled her eyes. "Monty, stop it. He's just a boy. And a Hero of Light, apparently."
Monty stopped and flew in close to Shun, peering closely. "Are you suuuure, kupo?"
no subject
A thought occurred to him, and he was giving a faint, wry smile. The only explanation, off the top of his head, was that the person was going to be his housemate. Briefly bowing his head to the pair, he spoke in a polite tone, "Hello. My name's Aonuma Shun. I apologize for any inconvenience," he said as he offered her a light smile.
Michiko watched as Monty flew close to Shun, and her cheeks puffed out. She refused to believe the human wasn't a Hero of Light. She could feel it, deep down, that he was! Flying so that she was just as close to Monty, she gave him a firm look, "Kupooooo...Of course he is! He's wearing the clothes of a Summoner, isn't he?!"
Shun's smile turned just a tad bit exasperated. It was in that moment, he realized who Michiko reminded him of. Not entertaining that thought, however, he offered an apologetic expression. There was a pause as he contemplated explaining the missing Crystal. Finally, after a short pause, he shook his head, "I've been unable to determine a plausible, matching difference between the group I arrived with, and the two former. It would seem, however, that we are all missing the Crystals. I plan to research this, further, tomorrow."
no subject
Monty flailed at Michiko before puffing his cheeks right back and crossing his arms. "Anyone can have a Job! But he didn't come with his Crystal so how do you really know?"
Genesis sighed and reached out to pull Monty back by his wing, causing his to flail again. "Monty, that's enough. If they awoke by the Crystal of Fire just like I did, then I'm sure there's an explanation." She turned to Shun. "My name is Genesis Rhapsodos. I suppose you will be the one in the vacant room, then?"
Of course, then she remembered she was making soup.
"If you're hungry, I'm making lunch," She said, walking back over to make sure she didn't burn anything.

From the games to the stores, Kairi looked and seemed interested in a few of them, even staring for quite a while at Blitzball; something she knew of back home. She didn't think it would be a thing anywhere else, so it had surprised her that the game existed here. Maybe her friends had somehow come here without her knowing and set it up or something... but she highly doubted that.
Finally moving on from the beautiful game, Kairi nearly bumped into someone. "Ah, sorry. I guess I wasn't paying as much attention as I thought I was." She said apologetically, giving a small bow.
no subject
Blinking softly, he moved his hands up just in case. The polite apology and bow were, pretty much immediately, met with a smile and shake of his head. There was no need to be upset over something that hadn't even happened. The yellow moogle that had been flying over his head swooped down to get a closer look at the situation, flying not far from the human girl. Shun paused to give Michiko a faint, amused smile, before looking to the stranger and speaking in a gentle voice, "No harm done. Besides, I'm sure people bump into one another, all the time, around here, considering how crowded it is."
It was in that moment that said yellow creature chimed in, "Yeah, it happens all the time, kupo!"
no subject
Blaze her new friend and moogle had finally caught up with her huffing and puffing and trying to get his breath back causing Kairi to look at him with a rather apologetic look once more. "I'm sorry, I gues I must have wondered too far away from you. I'll try not to do that again."
With that out of the way she turned her attention back to the other "Do you know much about this new world? Or you about as clueless as I am?"

"Hello there!" Shuffling the goods in his arms, he waves a hand above his head as he walks towards Shun. "Haven't seen you in the city before. My name's Link. Guessing you're new here?"
no subject
"It's nice to meet you, Link," he said, finding the name to be one of the more interesting he'd heard, so far, "You're correct...I arrived, here, today. My name's Aonuma Shun."

He sets the bag down for a moment, extending a hand out to the other male to give him a handshake.
"Where do you come from, Shun? Hopefully somewhere more peaceful?"
