Intro Log || The City That Never Sleeps

Characters: All the "Heroes of Light" (only new characters can start threads).
Where: Trano Golsaucia, Aqures Ixen, Airships.
When: The 5th of May. The new Heroes of Light will awaken early in the morning.
Summary: The new Heroes of Light awaken in the Temple of Wind next to Trano Golsaucia, and they are informed by their assigned Moogles of what the situation and what their destinies are. This a log for them to react to the situation, meet each other and be welcomed by the former batches of Heroes of Light.
Warning: N/A

Where you were or what you were doing— It does not really matter. Not any more. Within a split second, the world around you collapses. Reality twists and shatters... Or maybe you are the one who is collapsing and shattering away from reality as you know it. No matter what the answer is, it will only take a few seconds for you to find yourself sinking into a void, your world vanishing into the distance. There is nothing but darkness as far as the eye can see. Even you feel different: all the powers you might once have had are now gone. It is silent, cold and before long it feels as though life itself is slipping out of you...

And at this very moment, when it looks as though nothing but a never-ending void awaits you, a red Crystal forms before you. In this void, its warmth compels you to grab it. Upon doing so, you can hear a soft, soothing voice speaking:

"Wake up."

Soon, the void itself vanishes and is replaced by a gentle breeze. Had it all been nothing more than a dream? The soothing voice repeats its call once more, but is soon replaced by a much less graceful "Wake up, Kupo!" Hand clutched on your Crystal, the call of the Moogle may finally bring you back to your senses. But you are no longer in your world, nor in the void. You are before the Crystal of Wind, in the Temple located right outside of a city called Trano Golsaucia. At this point, you may realize the breeze originates from the massive green Crystal floating nearby. As if it wasn't strange enough, your clothes have changed as well. They are now a reflection of the Jobs you are wielding.

Last but not least, you are surrounded by Moogles, small and fluffy creatures. They look pretty tired, but they will be more than happy to tell you everything you want to know. They shall tell you about your 'destiny' as a Hero of Light and about what awaits you. Or at least, they will tell you everything they do know, which isn't much in the end.

There are quite a few people around you as well. For the most part, they are people like you-- All clothed in their Job garbs and most likely wondering what is happening. There are also some other Humans, Tarutaru and Hypello in the room, but unlike you they don't have a Crystal, nor do they have a Moogle following them. If addressed, they will say they are the Guardians of the Crystal of Wind and will confirm everything the Moogle said. They will reveal they found you unconscious around the Crystal a couples hours ago, and immediately contacted the Moogles and the government of Aqures Ixen.

If asked about it, both the Moogles and Guardians will explain that Heroes of Light have already appeared in this world within the past year, and they all are in a city called Aqures Ixen. It's the first time Heroes have appeared in this temple. In fact, you probably should go to Aqures Ixen as well. The Moogle will tell you this is where your house is and where the other Heroes will be able to help you. Thankfully, should you decide to take your sweet time to get there, the other Heroes may just come to you.

The Other Heroes
— Anytime —

And indeed, thanks to the efficiency of Mognet and Shoopuf Airline it does not take long for the other Heroes to come around. You may meet them in Trano Golsaucia or in Aqures Ixen, or maybe even in one of the Airships going back and forth between the two cities. They are those who arrived in this world months ago and they have gone through quite a lot. You may have imagined heroic and charismatic figures when your Moogle told you there were other Heroes of Light in this world. You may have imagined persons with fearsome powers when they told you how they recklessly attacked the Heran Empire to free their friends a few months ago. And most importantly, you may have imagined them as people who would have the answers to your, doubtlessly, numerous questions.

If so, you may be up for a complete and utter disappointment. Still, for the most part they know more than you on the situation and may be more than happy to fill you in, especially if your Moogle didn't tell you much.

Trano Golsaucia
— Anytime —

Should you leave the Temple of Wind and head south, you will reach Trano Golsaucia. It's a gigantic city covered with snow-- To make it simple, this city is a gigantic amusement park. It is the most popular place in this world and of course, there are plenty of people all around. Thankfully, other Heroes of Light are easy to spot: they are the only ones who are followed by a Moogle and holding a Crystal.

And there is quite a lot to be done in this city. Maybe you could stop by the Triple Triad Center to begin a successful career in card games, or maybe you could buy a ticket at the Blitzball Stadium to support your favorite team. If you're the kind of person who relies on luck, you may have more fun gambling in the Casino or betting on your favorite Chocobo in the Chocobo Races. If you're more of a person who enjoys simpler games, maybe you could try one of the numerous carnival-style mini-games found in the city, such as the shooting stand or the treasure chest game.

If you'd like more details regarding all the attractions and games available in Trano Golsaucia, you can find everything here! Of course, all of this requires money and odds are that you may not have a single Gil yet. If your Moogle is nice though, maybe you could ask him or her to loan you some Gil...

Airships
— Every Four Hours —

Upon reaching Trano Golsaucia, you will also have the right to board an Airship. Exceptionally, there is an Airship available every four hours, all because of your arrival so that Heroes of Light can meet each other and go to Aqures Ixen with ease.

The flight itself should take between four to six hours as it will travel from one city to the other on route. This is nothing special for the denizens of this world, but for you it may be quite the experience if you never boarded a plane or any flying contraptions before. The service is nothing special, but there are some light refreshments offered free of charge. Note that most of the employees on Airships are Hypello.

Aqures Ixen
— After an Airship Trip —

Upon arriving in Aqures Ixen, the first thing you will see is the Airship Port in the 12th District. Following that, no doubt your eyes will find the Castle of Aqures Ixen, a classic yet refined structure standing in the city. From there on, characters are free to visit the city-- There are no attractions in this city, but there are scientific buildings, another Blitzball Stadium and even an Observatory serving as base for the Heroes of Light. If you'd like more details regarding all that is available in Aqures Ixen, you can find everything here!

Or maybe -and perhaps inevitably!- you could visit your new house in the 11th or 14th District, and get to know your new neighbors and housemate. It's been a long day, so you could use some sleep. Hopefully your neighbors are people you will get along with...

"No, it's not cool." He puts his hands on his hips. "It's been years since I last played a video game, but those powers are for fantasy only. I quit adventurin' long ago."

Nevermind that he did have awesome powers back home.

"And if they did want us to help, why take away the force Galactic and replace it with somethin' useless?"

Stupid Moogle was right.

"Yeah so... sadly I can't make you a new book but... Hmm..." He thinks a second. "So you're probably a black mage anyway. Odds are you don't need that book anymore. There's this 'job' system here that gives you powers pretty closely based on what you could do before so..."

He gives her a moment to think about that. "Best I could do for you now is probably a stick of some sorts." Yeah, he calls it a stick, not a wand or a staff, but not a 'beat-stick' either!, "That's got an element in it."

Well, her Moogle isn't the focus of her attention, he is.

"Yeah, but I was a hero before I came here so... it's more of a vacation to me." he says.

But as a man of business and smashing metal with a hammer, he's got plenty of money to spare. "You wanna give it a go? My treat." he offers. Sure, it's a game of smacking a hammer down on a plate to hit the bell but, he's either super-strong to carry his around with no problem, or his is special... (and it is.)

"Oh, well... from afar... it was the hair." she admits.

Because it was the hair, in that icon... and jumping to conclusions of hilarious result!

"It's my fault for really not paying attention. But... at least I can welcome you to Aquares Ixen now? If you haven't been already. It's going to be kind of busy the next couple of days."

Consolation prize get!

"Well, if you remember, that's good! We'll just tell everyone you remembered your name finally and we'll call you that." she smiles, "It's not a problem at all, but, it would be nice to call you something." she says.

Sadly, not everyone is as keen on her as she might come off as. She used to be very very bad years ago! But we'll keep that on the hush-hush.

"Is there something that you really like? Or something that you remember that might be close. Anything can be a name. Except Heiyu." she says, shooting her Moogle a rather frightening glare.

"Okay." Sophie was relieved at that.

She'd never believe Valvalis was a bad person years ago! She's so nice! "Ummm..." Something she really liked. "I like flowers. And I like purple. Can I be purple?" Or purple flower? "I like the sky..and animals." Is this any help at all?

Meanwhile, poor Taiga is terrified of Valvalis just from that glare. "K..kupo!!" Taiga ducked behind Sophie. Valvalis is scary!

She moved her arms giving off a small shrug.

"I know about as much as you do right now. Little to nothing." Her moogle did try and explain it but felt like it had fallen of deaf ears to say the least.

"Though honesty, I would have never have guessed you once played video games before. That was unexpected."

Her easy demeanor helped put Ven at ease, so in a heartbeat he had returned the smile. "Same here!" Near-collision notwithstanding. He figured he was getting a knack for spotting other outsiders on the street, with or without their moogles, but all the same he inquired, "So are you one of the Heroes, too?"

Annie could understand the other Moogle's frustration. Barkeep had completely ignored her introduction in favor of...doing whatever he was trying to do. He was adamant in not being a full-time hero.

"Why not? They've existed for hundreds of years, and most everyone from Earth played them as a kid." Why? He gave Minako a suspicious look. "I ain't from that backwards a planet, if that's what you're assumin'."

"Yep! I may shake it up a bit soon, but I was a mage before coming here. The magic is all weird here though. They only have one wind spell! And it's really complicated. Blows me over it does."

Henry brightens up when Robin mentions her war.

"Me too! I was a bit disappointed at first, since there really wasn't much going on here war wise. But my war back home was probably gonna wind up and the one here is just getting started. I won't get to miss out on any of the action!"

"B-because I followed Miss Kalki's orders. And...and because I was too s-scared to do anything to help, kupo." Tern did his best to explain, paws clinging to Asbel's shoulder as they continued on their way. He wouldn't even be mad if she didn't want to be his friend. Some of the other moogles at Mognet Central would still float away without a word, even after he finally got up the courage to greet them.

"Where? Well, I don't really know exactly," confessed Asbel. "The research facility was destroyed, but she seems to have made it out okay."

At least, if that letter she'd sent them was to be believed. Asbel decided then and there that some things were better left for later. He wasn't ready to try explaining doppelgangers to Sophie just yet.

Hmm, he had a point. He DID follow the lady's orders. Sophie glanced at Taiga, then back to Tern. "Then are you a bad person?" Or moogle, rather. She didn't think so, if he was Asbel's friend. Not that she had much to go on regarding Asbel, but there was something in her that was insistent on the matter. Asbel was right in Everything(tm).

She was a little worried that this Kalki lady was still out there, but surely she wouldn't be causing any more trouble, right?

"You might be surprised."

Zelda had spotting the man rubbing his temples and had set to fetching him a glass of water. The condensation on the glass rolled down it's side as she held it out to him to take. She was wearing a smile and a light blue summer dress with a heavy brown cloak on top of it. Her blond hair was bound up but it still fell past her waist.

"Here." She gestured towards the water in her hand with a wide smile. "It's a little overwhelming."

Zelda glanced over to the moogle and smiled. Her own moogle was floating nearby with a green hat that tapered down to a point and the usual mail bags all moogles carried.

"Guy?"

The voice rang out across the temple before Yuna could clap her hands over her lips. She looked to the left and then the right as if she was about to cross the street before running to his side. She wore her archer clothing with a bow strapped to her back. She made sure not to touch him as she ran over and sank to his side.

If it wasn't for the moogle following at her heels then she would have almost looked like she belonged in this world. Celes, who was fluttering up slowly, wore a green bandanna with a bright orange strip through it and a Bliztball sticker on his mail bag. He didn't look so happy to be there.

"You're here! Again. Um... do you remember me?" She had encountered enough people here who didn't know who she was. She didn't really want to chance it again.

"This sure is an improvement, huh? It's almost like a festival," Asbel mused aloud. When Sophie said nothing bad seemed to be happening in Trano Golsaucia, he'd thought she meant the place was peaceful - maybe even boring. He hadn't expected such a bright burst of color and sound amidst all the snow.

The moogle snuggling up against his neck nodded in agreement, "I like it a lot better. It seems like a fun place."

"Yeah, I know. I wouldn't mind coming here again another time. But we should probably focus. We have a job to do, after all."

"R-right! And that's h-helping the new Heroes, isn't it?" the creature piped up.

"You got it." Letting the music boost his spirits, Asbel scanned the crowd for those who looked like they could be new arrivals. Maybe...that guy? Either way, he seemed uncomfortable - and he was muttering something, too. Maybe they could at least offer to buy him a scarf or something?

Asbel made his way over to Albel, fighting against the urge to curl in on himself. It was pretty cold. "Um. Hey, are you all right?"

"I noticed that," Robin said, while she thought about it. She only had a little time to test her new abilities, but the magic worked completely differently than what she was used to. "The elements are strange, to say the least. They seem to have lightning spells, at least..."

When she realizes they're from the same world, this will seem funnier.

"Yours was ending?" she asked. She tilted her head. "I don't really enjoy fighting. But... I can see what you mean, too. This one seems newer than the one that I was in. It looked to be coming to a head."

"I hope so." Robin sighed. "They were notes about strategies. Reading the book gave me ideas! I--oh." She realized, then, that she was going on and being rude -- and not introducing herself. She extended a hand towards Minako. "I'm Robin."
tacticallyminded: (Concerned)

[personal profile] tacticallyminded 2015-05-11 08:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Perhaps it spoke to Robin's love of books -- and the bond of mother and son, across time, space, and incredible chance -- that she actually considered what Morgan was saying while her mind reeled with the realization that this was her son. Or, perhaps, that this boy considered himself to be her son! But, no, there were certain things that gave it away. Similarities in mannerisms, his appearance, and the little details that suggested that.

She looked around for a moment, as if to spot the book where it may have fallen -- and then she looked up with widening eyes. "Wait!" she said. "You called me mother! You're--um."

She looked him up and down.

"You're a little old to be my son," she said, tilting her head to the side. "I couldn't be--but I can see the similarity..."

"Scholar," Marc opined, "and Red Mage, kupo."

Robin looked over her shoulder at the moogle like he spoke nonsense -- from her perspective, he did -- and then looked back at MarKus. She shrugged her shoulders once, before she nodded at him. "What he said!" She could roll with that, at least. "I will need some armaments. The best strategy doesn't work with rusty equipment! Or no equipment."
tacticallyminded: (Thoughtful)

[personal profile] tacticallyminded 2015-05-11 08:51 pm (UTC)(link)
"An exchange of favors," Robin said. She couldn't quite fault them for it, and focusing on that -- rather than the feelings that memory of being pulled away brought out -- felt safer. Sometimes, armies needed allies. Could she really blame them? The Shepherds acquired more than a few allies in similar ways.

"If they need the help, I can't complain," she determined. She glanced down at Ventus, then she nodded. "Helping us, if that's what they did... it's fair. And there's a lot of people in this city."

And another city, she was told, even larger. Her expression became thoughtful, instead of distant and a little sad. The lack of information around the situation proved disconcerting, but they had a few leads. Maybe whatever pulled them here could only share so much.

"I wonder who or what brought us," she said. "It must have had something to do with that crystal."

Tern gulped, flapping his tiny wings in anxiety. "I d-don't know? But I don't want to be a bad person, kupo... Th-that's why I returned to Mognet, kupo."

"Tern isn't the only one," Asbel offered, trying to ease the direction of the conversation. "Pretty much all of the moogles who worked for Kalki opted to come with us instead of staying behind. I think they've had a pretty hard time of it."

"But...it'll be all right. We're all trying to work together to figure out what we can do for this world, after all. And afterwards, we'll find a way back home again."
lucentpalisade: (Happy smile)

Sophie relaxed, offering little Tern a smile. "Then we're friends." She said, reassuring the poor thing. She glanced at Asbel, "It's better that they came with you then. They're all safer now."

And a nod, "I hope so. I don't remember it much, but I want to see it. I want to go to Lhant Hill and see the flowers again."

Fortunately his eyes lit up once 'Red Mage' was spoken.

"Well, firstly, I entirely agree, and from what he said I can help you! A lot really!" he says.

"Secondly since you seem confused as fuck, let me try and explain. People are set into 'jobs'. A combat role. And these roles are super-restrictive to what you can, or can't, do. But you can change them. What he said, Scholar and Red Mage, basically means, you can fight, you can use magic, and you're probably super smart with other stuff. I'm a Blacksmith myself, so, I'm a master at making weapons and armor, but... I can't use magic."

And after giving her that spiel... "Stupid, isn't it?"
