Intro Log || The City That Never Sleeps

Characters: All the "Heroes of Light" (only new characters can start threads).
Where: Trano Golsaucia, Aqures Ixen, Airships.
When: The 5th of May. The new Heroes of Light will awaken early in the morning.
Summary: The new Heroes of Light awaken in the Temple of Wind next to Trano Golsaucia, and they are informed by their assigned Moogles of what the situation and what their destinies are. This a log for them to react to the situation, meet each other and be welcomed by the former batches of Heroes of Light.
Warning: N/A

Where you were or what you were doing— It does not really matter. Not any more. Within a split second, the world around you collapses. Reality twists and shatters... Or maybe you are the one who is collapsing and shattering away from reality as you know it. No matter what the answer is, it will only take a few seconds for you to find yourself sinking into a void, your world vanishing into the distance. There is nothing but darkness as far as the eye can see. Even you feel different: all the powers you might once have had are now gone. It is silent, cold and before long it feels as though life itself is slipping out of you...

And at this very moment, when it looks as though nothing but a never-ending void awaits you, a red Crystal forms before you. In this void, its warmth compels you to grab it. Upon doing so, you can hear a soft, soothing voice speaking:

"Wake up."

Soon, the void itself vanishes and is replaced by a gentle breeze. Had it all been nothing more than a dream? The soothing voice repeats its call once more, but is soon replaced by a much less graceful "Wake up, Kupo!" Hand clutched on your Crystal, the call of the Moogle may finally bring you back to your senses. But you are no longer in your world, nor in the void. You are before the Crystal of Wind, in the Temple located right outside of a city called Trano Golsaucia. At this point, you may realize the breeze originates from the massive green Crystal floating nearby. As if it wasn't strange enough, your clothes have changed as well. They are now a reflection of the Jobs you are wielding.

Last but not least, you are surrounded by Moogles, small and fluffy creatures. They look pretty tired, but they will be more than happy to tell you everything you want to know. They shall tell you about your 'destiny' as a Hero of Light and about what awaits you. Or at least, they will tell you everything they do know, which isn't much in the end.

There are quite a few people around you as well. For the most part, they are people like you-- All clothed in their Job garbs and most likely wondering what is happening. There are also some other Humans, Tarutaru and Hypello in the room, but unlike you they don't have a Crystal, nor do they have a Moogle following them. If addressed, they will say they are the Guardians of the Crystal of Wind and will confirm everything the Moogle said. They will reveal they found you unconscious around the Crystal a couples hours ago, and immediately contacted the Moogles and the government of Aqures Ixen.

If asked about it, both the Moogles and Guardians will explain that Heroes of Light have already appeared in this world within the past year, and they all are in a city called Aqures Ixen. It's the first time Heroes have appeared in this temple. In fact, you probably should go to Aqures Ixen as well. The Moogle will tell you this is where your house is and where the other Heroes will be able to help you. Thankfully, should you decide to take your sweet time to get there, the other Heroes may just come to you.

The Other Heroes
— Anytime —

And indeed, thanks to the efficiency of Mognet and Shoopuf Airline it does not take long for the other Heroes to come around. You may meet them in Trano Golsaucia or in Aqures Ixen, or maybe even in one of the Airships going back and forth between the two cities. They are those who arrived in this world months ago and they have gone through quite a lot. You may have imagined heroic and charismatic figures when your Moogle told you there were other Heroes of Light in this world. You may have imagined persons with fearsome powers when they told you how they recklessly attacked the Heran Empire to free their friends a few months ago. And most importantly, you may have imagined them as people who would have the answers to your, doubtlessly, numerous questions.

If so, you may be up for a complete and utter disappointment. Still, for the most part they know more than you on the situation and may be more than happy to fill you in, especially if your Moogle didn't tell you much.

Trano Golsaucia
— Anytime —

Should you leave the Temple of Wind and head south, you will reach Trano Golsaucia. It's a gigantic city covered with snow-- To make it simple, this city is a gigantic amusement park. It is the most popular place in this world and of course, there are plenty of people all around. Thankfully, other Heroes of Light are easy to spot: they are the only ones who are followed by a Moogle and holding a Crystal.

And there is quite a lot to be done in this city. Maybe you could stop by the Triple Triad Center to begin a successful career in card games, or maybe you could buy a ticket at the Blitzball Stadium to support your favorite team. If you're the kind of person who relies on luck, you may have more fun gambling in the Casino or betting on your favorite Chocobo in the Chocobo Races. If you're more of a person who enjoys simpler games, maybe you could try one of the numerous carnival-style mini-games found in the city, such as the shooting stand or the treasure chest game.

If you'd like more details regarding all the attractions and games available in Trano Golsaucia, you can find everything here! Of course, all of this requires money and odds are that you may not have a single Gil yet. If your Moogle is nice though, maybe you could ask him or her to loan you some Gil...

Airships
— Every Four Hours —

Upon reaching Trano Golsaucia, you will also have the right to board an Airship. Exceptionally, there is an Airship available every four hours, all because of your arrival so that Heroes of Light can meet each other and go to Aqures Ixen with ease.

The flight itself should take between four to six hours as it will travel from one city to the other on route. This is nothing special for the denizens of this world, but for you it may be quite the experience if you never boarded a plane or any flying contraptions before. The service is nothing special, but there are some light refreshments offered free of charge. Note that most of the employees on Airships are Hypello.

Aqures Ixen
— After an Airship Trip —

Upon arriving in Aqures Ixen, the first thing you will see is the Airship Port in the 12th District. Following that, no doubt your eyes will find the Castle of Aqures Ixen, a classic yet refined structure standing in the city. From there on, characters are free to visit the city-- There are no attractions in this city, but there are scientific buildings, another Blitzball Stadium and even an Observatory serving as base for the Heroes of Light. If you'd like more details regarding all that is available in Aqures Ixen, you can find everything here!

Or maybe -and perhaps inevitably!- you could visit your new house in the 11th or 14th District, and get to know your new neighbors and housemate. It's been a long day, so you could use some sleep. Hopefully your neighbors are people you will get along with...

That poor furball, he was probably overworked just as badly as his own Moogle. The second Moogle was not out of breath but exasperated with her overall.

"Never seen snow before?" he mused raising a brow, "Like me for example. I could be a pretty bad guy for all you know," he replied sarcastically. His Moogle intervened before any misunderstandings could occur.

"Please excuse him, he's rather disrespectful, and crude," he eyed Yuri.

"Quit nagging will ya?"

He didn't mean ant so it was probably good that Taiga said something because Kite had begun to tune out anything his hero said unless it was directed towards him.

Greg smiled at Sophie. He looked up at the tea pot and then reached up to wiggle the spout. "I'm an Elephant! Burrrrr!" It was his best elephant impersonation and while it wasn't accurate it was still adorable.

Kite watched him now curiously. So that was why he had asked for a tea pot.

Tilting his head, Ven considered that. He didn't really have any personal experiences to compare it with; his life had been normal, or so he'd thought, up until Terra left. Everything after that had been new, but still within his range of normal, and by the time things went badly he didn't have the luxury of stopping to think about it. Then again, wasn't that kind of what he was doing now? Looking around town, trying to make some new friends all while pushing aside the anxious static in the back of his mind that continued to remind him that Terra, Aqua, and Sora were nowhere in sight? That he couldn't feel them anymore?

Maybe so. Either way, it was what it was, so after a moment Ven made a sound that was part sigh, part halfhearted laugh.

"I'm not so sure I know what 'normal' really is, but I think you're right." The mood passed quickly, though, and he soon gave another genuine smile. "I'm just glad we were brought in before things got too bad. This way we'll have time to get ready and everything." For whatever-it-was, and by getting this job thing under control. It had sounded simple enough in theory, but the details were what had started to throw him.

Zelda smiled at her reaction. "Yes. I can show you to them if you'd like. They are across town."

Her own world was one up in the sky. She could easily understand airships or shops that floated in the air though they mostly got around on large birds like the chocobo's here. It wasn't so hard for her to get used to. She couldn't imagine being afraid of heights either.

"Mm." Robin murmured noncommittally, but sympathetically. If she was honest with herself, she didn't; she went from waking up in a field with no memories, save a disturbing vision, into fighting a war against the risen undead and a warlike nation. Normal was, at best, an illusion. She still thought it might be true.

She nodded, then she smiled at him. "Yes," she said. "And meet the people we'll be fighting with, if it comes to that."

All indications were that it would -- or already did.

She thought of the people that she fought with before; the Shepherds, and even the newer recruits from Ferox and other lands. With all of them, they formed some bond that kept them all together even when things went badly. It could be the same here and on every world, she decided. "That, I think, will be key to seeing this through."

"Yeah!" Robin exclaimed, brightly. A sense of wonder flooded her mind; both at the impossibility of such a thing and the incredible tactical applications. But, speculating on all of that could come later. She needed to see one first. "That would be great, Zelda!"

Sophie stared at the castle for a few minutes, and then looked back to Asbel again. "Is she coming back?"

How can a Queen keep people safe if she isn't there anymore? But it seemed Asbel might not have the answer to that, so she asked something else. "Was there a castle back home?"

"Nice to meet you, Galahad, kupo." Taiga smiled nervously. Wow, he's serious isn't he? That was kinda intimidating. "You're not mistaken at all, miss - I'm not sure how many others are living here, but we'll try to stay out from underfood, kupo."

Sophie brightened a bit at Selen's question, because Valvalis asked her the same thing not too long ago. "Purple." She said, with great confidence! "It's nice to meet you, Selen."

Taiga facepawed. "I told you, kupo, that's not really a good name.."

More or less. Everytime he took his eyes off of Sophie she'd wandered off to see something else. "No." Sophie rubbed her hands clean of the snow, "It's cold." She added, because y'know, surely Yuri wouldn't guess that himself. Right?

Unfamiliar with sarcasm, she looked curiously at Yuri. "Are you?" It'd be nice if all bad guys just came right out and said so, right? But then the other moogle intervened, saving more confusion! Yaaaaay.

"What's 'crude'?" Or maybe not. Poor Yuri and his naggy moogles.

Taiga was going to quickly discover letting Sophie ask Greg questions, is a -bad- idea. Because god only knows what kind of answers he was going to give. "Kupo, how old are you, Greg?"

At the cutest impression of an elephant ever, Sophie looked thoughtful. She thought he was a little boy, but apparently he's a talking elephant! "Oh. Burrrrrr." She echoed, just as poorly.

Taiga threw up his paws, "Oh don't you start that too, kupo~!" Please, all he needed was a pair of kids 'burrr'ing around the ship. Sophie seemed content with burrr'ing only once, turning her attention to the ground - what little of it she could see now, thanks to the clouds below.

"Oh, Train Goldsauce." she repeats. She knows it's wrong. "It's easier to remember, and I don't feel bad being corrected." Carol bops her on the head for that.

But yet another person that doesn't know about Gundams... damn. Maybe one day! "It's a type of sport that uses giant machines to fight, instead of countries going to war." After almost a year, she's learned to abbreviate the explanation.
lucentpalisade: (Too too cute)

[personal profile] lucentpalisade 2015-05-12 08:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Sophie nodded firmly. It sounded like a good plan to her! "Are you going to Aqures Ixen too?"

Taiga also agreed with this plan, "And don't worry, if we don't find anyone, I'll try to help you recover your memories all the same, kupo. How hard can it be?"

Sophie raised a hand and rubbed her head briefly, then glanced towards Ventus, "When I can remember my name, will we be friends?"
lucentpalisade: (Curious)

[personal profile] lucentpalisade 2015-05-12 08:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Sophie had a looooooot of catch up to do then. Starting with learning to write, and including 'rocks do not talk'. "Okay, I'll take care of it when we get to the city, kupo."

"Tiger Festival says that to get there, you have to ride in a boat that goes through the air." Sophie commented to Zelda. "I remember being in a boat before, but it didn't go through the air."
goddessofthesky: (Picturesk)

[personal profile] goddessofthesky 2015-05-12 08:10 pm (UTC)(link)
"This way then." Zelda turned towards the temple entrance glancing behind her once to make sure that Robin was following. Once they were outside she turned towards the town. The town was filled with colorful lights and it looked more like an amusement park than it did a town.

There were games and crowded streets. Sweet and salty smells filled the air as vendors tried to sell their foods.

Zelda glanced over at Robin again with a wide smile. "It's at the other end of the city."

"If a boat goes through the water it's called a sail boat. If it goes through the air it's called an airship." At least here it was though there were other names for ships and shops in the air where she was from. There was no sense in bringing it up. It would only be confusing.

"We can go take a look if you like?"

"No, I haven't tried playing myself. I've thought about it a few times, but I'm not even sure how I'd go about just "trying" it. My main hobby here is Triple Triad. It's a card game that's popular in this world. I'm not a professional player, but it's a bit easier to get into than Blitzball."

Cloud wasn't about to talk the newcomer out of trying if he wanted to give it a go though.

"Sure! No problem," Ven assured him, and then quickly took off to catch up with Greg before he could get too far.

"I guess," he replied a moment later, "I'll look for my friends, first. If I was brought here, they could've been, too." Never mind that none of the other Heroes he'd asked had heard of them, and he'd been through this city enough times today to determine that neither Terra nor Aqua had arrived when he did. He would keep searching all the same in Aqures Ixen.

"And I need to find out where I'm staying, too," he added, pulling his cape closer around him against the cold. Belatedly, he realized that they seem to be headed in a random direction and did a double-take. "Oh, uh -- and I think the airships are that way."
neverfirstclass: (I...uh...)

[personal profile] neverfirstclass 2015-05-12 08:20 pm (UTC)(link)
I...uh...

[Mako had thrown such accusations at Cloud when he first arrived. In fact the moogle STILL questioned his fitness to be a hero from time to time. But unlike Alice, the title was one that he had wholeheartedly leaped on.]

Well, this world gives us the chance to be heroes. I wasn't able to be one back home like I dreamed of, but here I can be.

Cloud tried to slump down to the deck, his stomach spent, but he was too weak to move. At least he wasn't afraid of heights as well. It was the motion more than any vertigo that had been causing him trouble.

"Help....yes please...sorry." He wanted to tell her that he hadn't been drinking too, but he couldn't muster the energy for it.

"Can't I express my unbridled joy at finding a dear friend alive and well?"

Jade sounded so warm and sincere, you couldn't possibly think it was an act. Unless you actually knew him, in which case it was obvious.

"You really shouldn't stand so close to the edge. How do you think I would feel if you fell?"

Guy isn't the only one standing at the railing of the ship. A spiky blonde haired young man leans half slumped over the railing, a bespectacled moogle watching him with an exasperated expression.

"Really, kupo, I don't know why you insisted on coming. You know this happens every time, kupo."

Cloud simply groans in response, but a telltale stain on the side of the ship below him gives a clue as to what happened.

Ven blinked at that, but it was quickly superseded by another reassuring smile. "Sure we will! But you don't need a name for that. We can be friends now if you want."

Beside him, Mograe made a sound that was equal parts amusement and approval. She was taking to this kid -- Hero -- more and more the longer she was with him.

"But yeah, I'm heading there, too," Ven went on, oblivious. "It seems like a pretty important place, and we have everything we need there. I'm hoping I'll find my friends, too." He couldn't even begin to guess what the odds of that were, but he would remain optimistic.

"I hope so. Biggs and Wedge still work in the castle. I'm sure they'd say something if she wasn't planning to come back." Well, maybe. When he'd spoken to Wedge before, he'd seemed pretty stressed - and that was putting it lightly.

"And yeah, there is a castle close to home, in Barona. Only we don't have a queen, we have a king instead."

He tilted his head to look down at her, wondering whether any meaning could be found in the order of her questions. Maybe she remembered visiting the capital seven years ago?

"His name's Richard and he's a good friend of ours."

Well, Johnny was pretty tall, too. He raised an eyebrow at both the moogle and the boy. "Can't say I have. Sorry, kid. What's with the candy, though? I just stepped in some. Might wanna pick it up before someone else does the same."

Johnny sighed a bit to himself. So this kid was brought in as a Hero? Why are people so young thrown into this mess? It wasn't right.

"I've seen a few other games but, they're for adults that have a lot of money." she pouts, speaking of the gambling, which she isn't good at. "And that looks like it's meant for really strong people." she points out a game in which you hammer down on a pad to try and ring the bell at the top.

"Hmmm... I'm sure we'll find something for us to play."

((As the player here is only thinking of carnival games at the moment...))
