Intro Log || The City That Never Sleeps

Characters: All the "Heroes of Light" (only new characters can start threads).
Where: Trano Golsaucia, Aqures Ixen, Airships.
When: The 5th of May. The new Heroes of Light will awaken early in the morning.
Summary: The new Heroes of Light awaken in the Temple of Wind next to Trano Golsaucia, and they are informed by their assigned Moogles of what the situation and what their destinies are. This a log for them to react to the situation, meet each other and be welcomed by the former batches of Heroes of Light.

Where you were or what you were doing— It does not really matter. Not any more. Within a split second, the world around you collapses. Reality twists and shatters... Or maybe you are the one who is collapsing and shattering away from reality as you know it. No matter what the answer is, it will only take a few seconds for you to find yourself sinking into a void, your world vanishing into the distance. There is nothing but darkness as far as the eye can see. Even you feel different: all the powers you might once have had are now gone. It is silent, cold and before long it feels as though life itself is slipping out of you...

And at this very moment, when it looks as though nothing but a never-ending void awaits you, a red Crystal forms before you. In this void, its warmth compels you to grab it. Upon doing so, you can hear a soft, soothing voice speaking:

"Wake up."

Soon, the void itself vanishes and is replaced by a gentle breeze. Had it all been nothing more than a dream? The soothing voice repeats its call once more, but is soon replaced by a much less graceful "Wake up, Kupo!" Hand clutched on your Crystal, the call of the Moogle may finally bring you back to your senses. But you are no longer in your world, nor in the void. You are before the Crystal of Wind, in the Temple located right outside of a city called Trano Golsaucia. At this point, you may realize the breeze originates from the massive green Crystal floating nearby. As if it wasn't strange enough, your clothes have changed as well. They are now a reflection of the Jobs you are wielding.

Last but not least, you are surrounded by Moogles, small and fluffy creatures. They look pretty tired, but they will be more than happy to tell you everything you want to know. They shall tell you about your 'destiny' as a Hero of Light and about what awaits you. Or at least, they will tell you everything they do know, which isn't much in the end.

There are quite a few people around you as well. For the most part, they are people like you-- All clothed in their Job garbs and most likely wondering what is happening. There are also some other Humans, Tarutaru and Hypello in the room, but unlike you they don't have a Crystal, nor do they have a Moogle following them. If addressed, they will say they are the Guardians of the Crystal of Wind and will confirm everything the Moogle said. They will reveal they found you unconscious around the Crystal a couples hours ago, and immediately contacted the Moogles and the government of Aqures Ixen.

If asked about it, both the Moogles and Guardians will explain that Heroes of Light have already appeared in this world within the past year, and they all are in a city called Aqures Ixen. It's the first time Heroes have appeared in this temple. In fact, you probably should go to Aqures Ixen as well. The Moogle will tell you this is where your house is and where the other Heroes will be able to help you. Thankfully, should you decide to take your sweet time to get there, the other Heroes may just come to you.

The Other Heroes
— Anytime —
And indeed, thanks to the efficiency of Mognet and Shoopuf Airline it does not take long for the other Heroes to come around. You may meet them in Trano Golsaucia or in Aqures Ixen, or maybe even in one of the Airships going back and forth between the two cities. They are those who arrived in this world months ago and they have gone through quite a lot. You may have imagined heroic and charismatic figures when your Moogle told you there were other Heroes of Light in this world. You may have imagined persons with fearsome powers when they told you how they recklessly attacked the Heran Empire to free their friends a few months ago. And most importantly, you may have imagined them as people who would have the answers to your, doubtlessly, numerous questions.

If so, you may be up for a complete and utter disappointment. Still, for the most part they know more than you on the situation and may be more than happy to fill you in, especially if your Moogle didn't tell you much.

Trano Golsaucia
— Anytime —
Should you leave the Temple of Wind and head south, you will reach Trano Golsaucia. It's a gigantic city covered with snow-- To make it simple, this city is a gigantic amusement park. It is the most popular place in this world and of course, there are plenty of people all around. Thankfully, other Heroes of Light are easy to spot: they are the only ones who are followed by a Moogle and holding a Crystal.

And there is quite a lot to be done in this city. Maybe you could stop by the Triple Triad Center to begin a successful career in card games, or maybe you could buy a ticket at the Blitzball Stadium to support your favorite team. If you're the kind of person who relies on luck, you may have more fun gambling in the Casino or betting on your favorite Chocobo in the Chocobo Races. If you're more of a person who enjoys simpler games, maybe you could try one of the numerous carnival-style mini-games found in the city, such as the shooting stand or the treasure chest game.

Of course, all of this requires money and odds are that you may not have a single Gil yet. If your Moogle is nice though, maybe you could ask him or her to loan you some Gil...

Airships
— Every Four Hours —
Upon reaching Trano Golsaucia, you will also have the right to board an Airship. Exceptionally, there is an Airship available every four hours, all because of your arrival so that Heroes of Light can meet each other and go to Aqures Ixen with ease.

The flight itself should take between four to six hours as it will travel from one city to the other on route. This is nothing special for the denizens of this world, but for you it may be quite the experience if you never boarded a plane or any flying contraptions before. The service is nothing special, but there are some light refreshments offered free of charge. Note that most of the employees on Airships are Hypello.

Aqures Ixen
— After an Airship Trip —
Upon arriving in Aqures Ixen, the first thing you will see is the Airship Port in the 12th District. Following that, no doubt your eyes will find the Castle of Aqures Ixen, a classic yet refined structure standing in the city. From there on, characters are free to visit the city-- There are no attractions in this city, but there are scientific buildings, another Blitzball Stadium and even an Observatory serving as base for the Heroes of Light. If you'd like more details regarding all that is available in Aqures Ixen, you can find everything here!

Or maybe -and perhaps inevitably!- you could visit your new house in the 11th or 14th District, and get to know your new neighbors and housemate. It's been a long day, so you could use some sleep. Hopefully your neighbors are people you will get along with...

Sophie followed his pointing towards the house, and then towards the one she was staying in, looking a little relieved. "That's not far at all." Apparently being far away from someone familiar was a concern of hers. Even if he was only separate from her by a few blocks, she'd be uncomfortable. Enough that she'd probably try climbing in his window. This was doable.

"It melted.." Well maybe 'melted' wasn't quite the word she wanted, even though it kind of did. Right in her mouth. "But it's good."

It was like eating flavored air!

"Okay." Sophie agreed, both in response to Seles and to Tokunaga. She started to walk, moving slowly to stay in pace with the other girl just in case she stumbled or needed to hurl again.

During most of the explanation, she ends up spacing out, looking a little sadder and sadder as she remembers things she hasn't been allowed to see in more than seven years, her 'floating castle', crystals, magic that was 'hers'. It's depressing but not for the same reasons as she might correlate to her story.

"Well... unfortunately dear, coming here means that your powers are likely gone, or drastically different. You see, this world has it's own laws of nature and... Even if your friends could help, they wouldn't be able to solve the issue. I think we're here to play by their rules and solve things." she says solemnly. "It's not the most ideal situation, but, it's much much better than some of the things I've had to go through. And there's a very likely chance that your friends simply are not here."

She remembers her sister though. "Yet."

"You mean the observatory and library in Aquares Ixen, right kupo?" Ophelia wanted to confirm, before looking up to her charge. "We should head there next, to get you settled in."

"After I look around." Vincent responded, wanting to get a look at things without necessarily being guided or herded. It would tell him a lot about this world. "How long have you been here Zelda?"

Vincent listens patiently, mentally cataloging things to follow up on. Matching some things up with what little he has learned so far from his moogle or Zelda. Clearly Tifa had been here for some time, and been through a lot--but he was not surprised at her fortitude in pulling through.

"How long have you been here?" His expression was still rather neutral--stoic is what it was called. But there was interest in his tone. Hints of concern, desire for sharing information between friends and allies.

Ophelia was relieved to see another moogle. Still appalled by this other hero's lack of manners though. Or at least overt pushiness. She was about to respond, before Vincent spoke and beat her to it.

"Not here. They wouldn't appreciate any damage." He also wasn't inclined to show off, just to satisfy someone else's curiosity. Whether they were knowledgeable or not.

Besides, without an introduction, how were Vincent or his moogle to know MarKus was anything other than a curious, obnoxiously grabby brat?

Vincent is as stoic and impassive as usual, but he hadn't walked away. His head was slightly tilted, as he had been listening. Ophelia was reaching into a pouch she had, under her scarf, then coming forward to drop some gil into his case. "It wasn't what I normally like Kupo, but it's not because you're not talented."

She'd summed it up perfectly, and Vincent nodded. If nothing else, the musician had been polite too.

That sounds like a good idea. Honestly I've missed my magic.

[Yuna sighs.]

Its similar here but not the same.

Even after an introduction, he is still those things. It just makes him one of those with a name and a reputation.

"Yeah yeah, you whine." he speaks to his Moogle before facing Vincent.

"Name's MarKus; Ace Mechanic and Blacksmith." He has fixed over a hundred robots. Gundanium is his body and Getter Rays are his blood... Unlimited Repair Works...

That's actually not a bad thing to put somewhere significant... maybe an epitaph?

"And yeah, sorry for just trying to go at your gun like that. I don't get to see a lot of modern tech shit around here."

Albel's face, and hopes, fell. So much for that.

"I thought you knew this place, if you were gonna help," he grumbled sourly. But he still tramped after the younger man. And... well, he did still feel at least somewhat better, knowing he wasn't the only one from his world. Fayt was someone capable.

Although... looking at Fayt's clothing reminded Albel of his own sudden change of wardrobe. What was with this weird change? Did people from this world change his clothes while he was unconscious? That was creepy. He'd have to ask Mogdelina where his old clothes were. He'd of course want them back.

His normal impassive manner was likely not helping any awkwardness Cloud felt. But the explanation was appreciated, as it explained the confusion. "Tifa already explained much of the problems with regard to time and our presences."

Pausing, ignoring Ophelia as she fluttered closer to examine Cloud from a polite-out-of-personal-space way. "You have nothing to be sorry for. Nor should you feel forced to interact if you do not want to." Vincent was willing to let Cloud come to him or not on his own terms, and would not assume the other was the ally he had come to know.

For all intents and purposes, he would treat Cloud as a different person. If it was wanted.

"Does it matter?" Vincent responded, still impassive and as casual as he ever was. He was not feeling any hostility yet, although things could well change. A shift in posture, very slight, to let Ophelia hide more against his off-side leg behind him.

Zelda smiled at Ophelia, "Yes, it's the old observatory. We've fixed it up." She then turned her gaze to Vincent.

"Over half a year. I was one of the first to wake up here. There are a few others who woke up with me too though I haven't seen many of them around yet today." It was only when the new heroes showed up that Zelda would once again realize how long she had been from home. She would be turning twenty here in a few weeks.

"I don't live here, I live in Aqures Ixen. It's on the continent to the east of here." Hey, he's only been here four months. He didn't know everything about this world.

"Most of the 'Heroes of Light' live there. You'll probably be given housing there as well." He pauses in his steps after a while, glancing at what looked to be a somewhat empty looking tavern. It was open though, from the look of it.

Perfect.

"This will work."

"Then I'll check the records there." Vincent replied, nodding in response to Zelda's comment as well as his moogle's. But they'd have to get to Aquares Ixen first, and he figured that might not be so simple.

"Worlds for every star in the sky..." Albel mulled it over. Before, he wouldn't have believed it -- wouldn't have even thought about it. It was too expansive. But now? After where he'd been, what he'd seen -- who he'd met. And that was before arriving here. So now? Now he could believe it. "Hm."

"As for these other 'heroes'..." Albel stood and shook his head. "You may be right. Half these worms are children, the others..."

He shook his head again. None of them looked like they knew their way around a sword or a shield, except maybe that man with the gauntlet like his... They couldn't fight their way out of a picnic basket.

"Useless," he muttered.

Ophelia looked up between the two heroes, then to the other moogle. "He got a shop or workstation or anything kupo?"

Honestly, MarKus was lucky he'd been more obvious in the actions or there might have been blood. Vincent didn't actually want a fight, but he was protective of his stuff. "Vincent." Was all he replied, his hand still near the holster at his hip, but less overtly protective. For now.

Zelda just smiled.

"If there is anything else let me know. Your moogle can send letters too if you don't have any questions just yet."

Zelda listened her expression thoughtful for a moment as her eyes flicked around the room. When he stood she was looking up at him though she didn't seem to mind. Her posture suggestion confidence and determination that wasn't so common.

"Some of the heroes are young but many are able to fight if it comes to it." She hoped that it wouldn't but she wasn't going to pretend that what they faced wasn't daunting. They didn't even know who their target truly was.

Zelda smiled confidently her bright blue eyes shining. "Give them a chance. You might learn something you didn't know." She didn't think that anyone was useless.

That did sound familiar. He was probably briefed on such a thing, but he was trying to take in everything at once... It hadn't exactly been the highest priority. Albel grunted noncommittally.

Mogdelina took it to mean that her assistance was needed and piped up proudly, "Oh yes, kupo! Mister Nox is assigned to building B-11!"

Albel gestured at his furry know-it-all and rolled his eyes. It might not have been the most appropriate time, but yes, at least she did know. Finding the tavern was perfect timing, however. Warmth. He quickly hustled his way inside, practically pushing Fayt out of the way to get to it.

Greg looked at Sophie with a surprisingly serious expression. After a long moment his expression shifted and looked more like a thoughtful pout.

"You need to imagine it. Here!" He pointed to a spot on the deck where there was only empty air.

"Let's play pretend!" Greg sat down and waved Sophie over. "You have to get into the car first!"

"B-11? I'm in B-09. Not that far then...." At least, it wasn't as far off as Nel's place was. Not that it was a problem for her, when she could just climb across roofs to get into his window.

He lets Albel push through, smiling a little at the gruffness of it all. Some things just didn't change.... "Look, there's a fire in the back. We can sit there, if you want to."

Gil. Must be the currency here. The word sounded familiar from that jumbled orientation he'd received upon waking.

"You... would buy me... food and clothing?" Albel stared at the other man with some disbelief. It was a generous offer -- too generous. People didn't just give so freely, not without expecting something in return. Briefly, it reminded Albel of how Fayt used to act.

Rather than make him happily nostalgic, however, it made Albel's frown deepen.

"Right? Just a hop, skip, and a jump." He forced a smile, still unsure how he felt about all this. After living together for six months, then being separated for two, Asbel had to admit he'd have felt more at ease if they were both under the same roof. But they were close, about as close as they could get, and surely if something happened and she called for him, he'd be able to hear it and rush to her side, right? Right?

Maybe...maybe he'd turn in a little late tonight. Just to make sure she was properly settled and everything. Who knew what sorts of characters had arrived recently. Some of them might even be dangerous! ...Hghhh...
