Intro Log || The City That Never Sleeps

Characters: All the "Heroes of Light" (only new characters can start threads).
Where: Trano Golsaucia, Aqures Ixen, Airships.
When: The 5th of May. The new Heroes of Light will awaken early in the morning.
Summary: The new Heroes of Light awaken in the Temple of Wind next to Trano Golsaucia, and they are informed by their assigned Moogles of what the situation and what their destinies are. This a log for them to react to the situation, meet each other and be welcomed by the former batches of Heroes of Light.
Warning: N/A

Where you were or what you were doing— It does not really matter. Not any more. Within a split second, the world around you collapses. Reality twists and shatters... Or maybe you are the one who is collapsing and shattering away from reality as you know it. No matter what the answer is, it will only take a few seconds for you to find yourself sinking into a void, your world vanishing into the distance. There is nothing but darkness as far as the eye can see. Even you feel different: all the powers you might once have had are now gone. It is silent, cold and before long it feels as though life itself is slipping out of you...

And at this very moment, when it looks as though nothing but a never-ending void awaits you, a red Crystal forms before you. In this void, its warmth compels you to grab it. Upon doing so, you can hear a soft, soothing voice speaking:

"Wake up."

Soon, the void itself vanishes and is replaced by a gentle breeze. Had it all been nothing more than a dream? The soothing voice repeats its call once more, but is soon replaced by a much less graceful "Wake up, Kupo!" Hand clutched on your Crystal, the call of the Moogle may finally bring you back to your senses. But you are no longer in your world, nor in the void. You are before the Crystal of Wind, in the Temple located right outside of a city called Trano Golsaucia. At this point, you may realize the breeze originates from the massive green Crystal floating nearby. As if it wasn't strange enough, your clothes have changed as well. They are now a reflection of the Jobs you are wielding.

Last but not least, you are surrounded by Moogles, small and fluffy creatures. They look pretty tired, but they will be more than happy to tell you everything you want to know. They shall tell you about your 'destiny' as a Hero of Light and about what awaits you. Or at least, they will tell you everything they do know, which isn't much in the end.

There are quite a few people around you as well. For the most part, they are people like you-- All clothed in their Job garbs and most likely wondering what is happening. There are also some other Humans, Tarutaru and Hypello in the room, but unlike you they don't have a Crystal, nor do they have a Moogle following them. If addressed, they will say they are the Guardians of the Crystal of Wind and will confirm everything the Moogle said. They will reveal they found you unconscious around the Crystal a couples hours ago, and immediately contacted the Moogles and the government of Aqures Ixen.

If asked about it, both the Moogles and Guardians will explain that Heroes of Light have already appeared in this world within the past year, and they all are in a city called Aqures Ixen. It's the first time Heroes have appeared in this temple. In fact, you probably should go to Aqures Ixen as well. The Moogle will tell you this is where your house is and where the other Heroes will be able to help you. Thankfully, should you decide to take your sweet time to get there, the other Heroes may just come to you.

The Other Heroes
— Anytime —

And indeed, thanks to the efficiency of Mognet and Shoopuf Airline it does not take long for the other Heroes to come around. You may meet them in Trano Golsaucia or in Aqures Ixen, or maybe even in one of the Airships going back and forth between the two cities. They are those who arrived in this world months ago and they have gone through quite a lot. You may have imagined heroic and charismatic figures when your Moogle told you there were other Heroes of Light in this world. You may have imagined persons with fearsome powers when they told you how they recklessly attacked the Heran Empire to free their friends a few months ago. And most importantly, you may have imagined them as people who would have the answers to your, doubtlessly, numerous questions.

If so, you may be up for a complete and utter disappointment. Still, for the most part they know more than you on the situation and may be more than happy to fill you in, especially if your Moogle didn't tell you much.

Trano Golsaucia
— Anytime —

Should you leave the Temple of Wind and head south, you will reach Trano Golsaucia. It's a gigantic city covered with snow-- To make it simple, this city is a gigantic amusement park. It is the most popular place in this world and of course, there are plenty of people all around. Thankfully, other Heroes of Light are easy to spot: they are the only ones who are followed by a Moogle and holding a Crystal.

And there is quite a lot to be done in this city. Maybe you could stop by the Triple Triad Center to begin a successful career in card games, or maybe you could buy a ticket at the Blitzball Stadium to support your favorite team. If you're the kind of person who relies on luck, you may have more fun gambling in the Casino or betting on your favorite Chocobo in the Chocobo Races. If you're more of a person who enjoys simpler games, maybe you could try one of the numerous carnival-style mini-games found in the city, such as the shooting stand or the treasure chest game.

If you'd like more details regarding all the attractions and games available in Trano Golsaucia, you can find everything here! Of course, all of this requires money and odds are that you may not have a single Gil yet. If your Moogle is nice though, maybe you could ask him or her to loan you some Gil...

Airships
— Every Four Hours —

Upon reaching Trano Golsaucia, you will also have the right to board an Airship. Exceptionally, there is an Airship available every four hours, all because of your arrival so that Heroes of Light can meet each other and go to Aqures Ixen with ease.

The flight itself should take between four to six hours as it will travel from one city to the other on route. This is nothing special for the denizens of this world, but for you it may be quite the experience if you never boarded a plane or any flying contraptions before. The service is nothing special, but there are some light refreshments offered free of charge. Note that most of the employees on Airships are Hypello.

Aqures Ixen
— After an Airship Trip —

Upon arriving in Aqures Ixen, the first thing you will see is the Airship Port in the 12th District. Following that, no doubt your eyes will find the Castle of Aqures Ixen, a classic yet refined structure standing in the city. From there on, characters are free to visit the city-- There are no attractions in this city, but there are scientific buildings, another Blitzball Stadium and even an Observatory serving as base for the Heroes of Light. If you'd like more details regarding all that is available in Aqures Ixen, you can find everything here!

Or maybe -and perhaps inevitably!- you could visit your new house in the 11th or 14th District, and get to know your new neighbors and housemate. It's been a long day, so you could use some sleep. Hopefully your neighbors are people you will get along with...

Albel didn't even answer that suggestion, merely made a beeline for the fireplace and sat right in front of it. Warmth, oh blessed warmth. The few other patrons shot him strange looks, not that he noticed or would have cared.

It wasn't until he could feel his fingers again that he acknowledged Fayt's own housing. B-09... that did sound close. Not bad, not bad at all. Of course, Albel couldn't show that he actually liked this news, but he managed a smirk.

"Hm... Beats sharing some room in Peterny."

Sophie stared at Greg like he just grew an extra head.

"... Car?" What's a car? And..where is it? There's only air there. "Where is it...?"

Sophie, the point is flying WAY over your head...

Albel scoffed. "I doubt it."

Learn something from these children? Highly unlikely. No matter what this lady said, he couldn't imagine any of them being worth their weight in a fight. They'd just drag him down.

If anyone tried to remind him that he took a similar attitude to Fayt before Fayt kicked his ass, Albel would be a very unhappy camper. Yes, his demeanor could get worse. Though he could almost hear Peppita Rosetti chastising him about what kids could do.

"I'll believe it when I see it," he amended, though he still didn't expect much.

"Hey, that inn was one of the better ones." Unlike Airyglyph's... which... well.

The one stay they'd had there was plenty enough memory of near freezing to death for Fayt, thanks. He settles by the fire himself, mulling over the idea or ordering something warm to drink if they have it.

"You'll have housemates, though. There are three others living with me right now." Unsaid, of course, was that Fayt hoped Albel would behave himself with whoever he ended up living with. Or at least not try to scare the crap out of them. Whichever. "So you might end up with the same."

"Of course it does!" Albel scoffed and crossed his arms. They were supposed to be the "Heroes of Light." At least some of them should be befitting of such a title -- and that meant strength, combat experience. Not... a bunch of teenagers squealing and crying about where they were and how to get home.

Home wasn't happening. Not any time soon. Best find someone else who looked capable and stick together.

Clothes were more than a little concerning. For Aerich's part, his traditional blouse, skirt and vambraces had been replaced with a warrior's armor. Yet it wasn't until he heard the human speak that he put much thought into it. Yes, it'd been ingrained in his thinking that more metal always made one more vulnerable in battle, with the prevalence of sorcery, so it was a practical concern -- but before that he had to reconcile with himself that he could actually move about.

That said, he could look to the woman with mute amusement for that last exclamation. "A book, you say? That is a fine priority."

A. Waking Up/The Other Heroes

There was a lot to take in. The duke had already spent some time questioning the moogle that had declared itself his partner, and there'd been some time devoted to simply reacquainting himself with movement. Now, perhaps, it was time for more pressing matters: the curiosity that was the crystal that had materialized for him.

He bounced it lightly in his hand. It was no Imperial Orb, that much he was comfortable assuming. It was almost a shame, a method of reproducing the Orb would have been a great discovery. Still...

"On the positive side," he murmured, "This crystal is unlikely to be so indiscreet as to put my emotions on display."

B - House B-01

Housing may have been assigned, but when time allowed for Aerich and his moogle to arrive, the duke still gestured for his companion to refrain from entering straightaway. Who would want a stranger to simply barge in? It would always be better to attempt to properly introduce oneself first.

With that in mind, Aerich brought his hands together for a sharp clap at the door. He knew some traditions would be different, but clapping to announce oneself was deeply ingrained: knocking didn't even occur. Then, he would wait.

Robin looked when someone spoke to her, glancing towards the man. She didn't recognize him -- hardly a new state of affairs here -- but she nodded, once, and kept her sigh to a small one. "It had several of my notes. I'd hoped to use them, but..." She shook her head. "No helping it."

She looked him over; telling people apart could be hard, given the changes in their wardrobes after they arrived.

"You're a newcomer here, too, then?" she asked.

Sparks waved the issue off with a hand.

"Ain't important right now. Reckon you got plenty 'a time to learn the lingo later. Plus, yer moogle shoulda clued you into the basics. Except that this place is basically the stone age. Y'know what their most advanced mode of travel is? Airships. And I've seen, like, five computers the whole time I've been here. Plus, their normal mode of travel? Birds. Really big, kinda smelly birds that don't even fly. They just run."

Sparks tosses up his arms in annoyance. All his months here and he still can't get used to that kind of stuff.

[Of course it sounded too good to be true.]

Well, wait a few weeks. Maybe they'll turn up. Seems to be the way things run around here. One person shows up, then people they know trickle in later. Happened to me, what, three times now? So ya never know.

A slight bow for her, intended as polite acknowledgement. The transition had been jarring, but he'd hate to let his manners slip.

"So I am," he answered. "And I might suggest it is not entirely unwelcome to learn a new thing or two, as difficult as it is to take in."

A pause for a beat, as Aerich considered briefly how notes might have been put to use in the situation. He had, himself, studied notes on how a lyorn might travel the Paths of the Dead.

"Forgive me if I am too bold, but I am given to wonder: Are these notes regarding the navigation of other realms?"

"Ah," Robin said with a slow blink, "no, I am afraid not."

But it would have been useful, she thought. She looked at him for a moment, tilting her head to the side, before she shook her head. "Notes on a strategy that I was hoping to use on campaign," she said. She sighed. "Reconstructing them will be--ah, well, given the circumstances..."

She looked back at the crystal of wind. "...a little irrelevant at present."
forlornlyorn: (two words)

[personal profile] forlornlyorn 2015-05-15 05:02 am (UTC)(link)
"There may be some truth in that," he agreed. "For a moment or two, at the least."

But then, a moment might be rather long if Aerich was allowed to measure it. For the moment, he would be content to fold hands and simply follow Robin's gaze. Leaving a campaign behind would likely be a source of anxiety -- he was glad his arrival, or the crumbling of reality as he knew it, or however else this had happened, didn't involve an interruption.

Better not to rub salt in a fresh wound by asking for more about it.

"If I have heard correctly, another campaign is presented," he said. "It has the sound of a worthy cause, at least."

"It seems our new world has its fair share of troubles," Robin said. She had only talked to a few, but she had some idea of what they faced thanks to her Moogle. It was still all quite vague, though; more information would be necessary.

"So I'm inclined to agree," she said. "We'll need to provide assistance, from the sound of it. They've provided a means, too."

She tugged on her Scholar's robes to demonstrate what she meant. They gave them these Jobs, though not without cost. "Ah, I'm Robin," she said, before she walked closer. She extended a hand, for a handshake. "I was a tactician in my world."

"...You live on Mars?" Okay now that was a surprise more than anything. She knew that there was a castle that travelled around it, but she didn't think people could actually live on it. Now she knew at least.

She had wanted to start calling him pops hen he said not to call him it, but she knew she should respect what he wants. Giving a small wink she looked rather happy about the mention of where they were going.

"I had gone there quickly already. It's a fun place to be, so you can just chill and have fun for now. Though Barkeep...Does that mean you work in a bar or something?"

She shakes her head slightly. "No, it doesn't literally suck you in. I guess I should explain it better. This situation, the whole the world could possibly end and only we can stop it. That's the kind of story one would find in a video game. The jobs we have would be similar to that of a role playing game. Does that help?"

She hoped that it worked in helping the other understand what she was trying to get across. Though she felt like she would have to explain it more.

"That could be because I've had to do some travelling for one reason or another." And that was usually because she had to find things or had things she had to go to on other worlds. So she had gotten use to it and didn't mind.

"It gets better and helps you explore and see the world." She said happily. "It's fun to see the beauty of things. I'm sure you might like it as well."

"It's not. I think at my point they are a little easy to defeat." She said knowing that by now she had been here for a good few months.

"Yes and I believe it's for the monster arena that is around. If they manage to capture enough of each monster then I assume that means it will open and one can fight them. This is just an assumption on my behalf."

They certainly sound useful. Don't think they do the same thing here though. At least our crystals don't.

[he let out a light laugh before his fingers once more traced some books on the shelves before picking one out.]

So I assume you are doing this much studying in the hope you find something? So how is that going for you?

She wasn't sure what to think of the frog except maybe that it was a little cute to say the least. "That's a very cute froggy you've got there." It made her smile slightly, but after that brief moment she looked down at the candy she had before shaking her head.

"I won't eat it, or I'll won't eat it all. Maybe we could hand it out to people." She said happily still holding on to them as she looked around. All that she had to do now was think about who to give them out too.

Jade stopped by the front door to the apartment, noting the new addition to the list of names. It seemed Tear and Guy continued to come and go together -- an odd coincidence for sure. If it was one. He'd have to check if the crystallized Heroes in the hospital were still the same...

No need to look for her, then. After dropping off his army rucksack in his room, Jade returned to the living room and settled down on an armchair with a book. No doubt Tear would arrive soon enough.

"You have to imagine it. It's a blue car! Or would you rather drive duck? It can be a duck." Greg smiled and then pushed his foot forward.

"Vroom Vroom." Which was the sounds a car made. "Get in or you'll be left behind!"

Kite watched in utter fascination as Gregory tired to show Sophie imagination. He wasn't sure this method would work.

"Sure." He didn't see anything wrong with that considering he was just putting it on things.

Kite wanted to groan seeing the candy he bought the young boy used for such a thing. He should be happy that Gregory wasn't functioning on a sugar high and eating it all.

Gregory put a piece of candy on his frog and then turned back towards the air ship. He had plenty of candy to finish his trail there.

"Do you mind if I ask how old you are?" She wasn't sure but they looked like they might be close to the same age. In a way they were very young too. Wisdom came with age, experiences and memories. Zelda couldn't say she was very old but she had experiences and memories, not all her own, to guide her forward.

She was sure that some of those who were young also had their own experiences and while different they weren't bad. Everyone had their own wisdom's to share, even if its just knowing when to smile.

"You don't have to answer if that's to personal." Zelda smiled. "Since I can here to help answer your questions."

Yeah. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. If we're going to be stuck here for a while, I might try to open a chapter of the guild here.
