Intro Log || The City That Never Sleeps

Characters: All the "Heroes of Light" (only new characters can start threads).
Where: Trano Golsaucia, Aqures Ixen, Airships.
When: The 5th of May. The new Heroes of Light will awaken early in the morning.
Summary: The new Heroes of Light awaken in the Temple of Wind next to Trano Golsaucia, and they are informed by their assigned Moogles of what the situation and what their destinies are. This a log for them to react to the situation, meet each other and be welcomed by the former batches of Heroes of Light.
Warning: N/A

Where you were or what you were doing— It does not really matter. Not any more. Within a split second, the world around you collapses. Reality twists and shatters... Or maybe you are the one who is collapsing and shattering away from reality as you know it. No matter what the answer is, it will only take a few seconds for you to find yourself sinking into a void, your world vanishing into the distance. There is nothing but darkness as far as the eye can see. Even you feel different: all the powers you might once have had are now gone. It is silent, cold and before long it feels as though life itself is slipping out of you...

And at this very moment, when it looks as though nothing but a never-ending void awaits you, a red Crystal forms before you. In this void, its warmth compels you to grab it. Upon doing so, you can hear a soft, soothing voice speaking:

"Wake up."

Soon, the void itself vanishes and is replaced by a gentle breeze. Had it all been nothing more than a dream? The soothing voice repeats its call once more, but is soon replaced by a much less graceful "Wake up, Kupo!" Hand clutched on your Crystal, the call of the Moogle may finally bring you back to your senses. But you are no longer in your world, nor in the void. You are before the Crystal of Wind, in the Temple located right outside of a city called Trano Golsaucia. At this point, you may realize the breeze originates from the massive green Crystal floating nearby. As if it wasn't strange enough, your clothes have changed as well. They are now a reflection of the Jobs you are wielding.

Last but not least, you are surrounded by Moogles, small and fluffy creatures. They look pretty tired, but they will be more than happy to tell you everything you want to know. They shall tell you about your 'destiny' as a Hero of Light and about what awaits you. Or at least, they will tell you everything they do know, which isn't much in the end.

There are quite a few people around you as well. For the most part, they are people like you-- All clothed in their Job garbs and most likely wondering what is happening. There are also some other Humans, Tarutaru and Hypello in the room, but unlike you they don't have a Crystal, nor do they have a Moogle following them. If addressed, they will say they are the Guardians of the Crystal of Wind and will confirm everything the Moogle said. They will reveal they found you unconscious around the Crystal a couples hours ago, and immediately contacted the Moogles and the government of Aqures Ixen.

If asked about it, both the Moogles and Guardians will explain that Heroes of Light have already appeared in this world within the past year, and they all are in a city called Aqures Ixen. It's the first time Heroes have appeared in this temple. In fact, you probably should go to Aqures Ixen as well. The Moogle will tell you this is where your house is and where the other Heroes will be able to help you. Thankfully, should you decide to take your sweet time to get there, the other Heroes may just come to you.

The Other Heroes
— Anytime —

And indeed, thanks to the efficiency of Mognet and Shoopuf Airline it does not take long for the other Heroes to come around. You may meet them in Trano Golsaucia or in Aqures Ixen, or maybe even in one of the Airships going back and forth between the two cities. They are those who arrived in this world months ago and they have gone through quite a lot. You may have imagined heroic and charismatic figures when your Moogle told you there were other Heroes of Light in this world. You may have imagined persons with fearsome powers when they told you how they recklessly attacked the Heran Empire to free their friends a few months ago. And most importantly, you may have imagined them as people who would have the answers to your, doubtlessly, numerous questions.

If so, you may be up for a complete and utter disappointment. Still, for the most part they know more than you on the situation and may be more than happy to fill you in, especially if your Moogle didn't tell you much.

Trano Golsaucia
— Anytime —

Should you leave the Temple of Wind and head south, you will reach Trano Golsaucia. It's a gigantic city covered with snow-- To make it simple, this city is a gigantic amusement park. It is the most popular place in this world and of course, there are plenty of people all around. Thankfully, other Heroes of Light are easy to spot: they are the only ones who are followed by a Moogle and holding a Crystal.

And there is quite a lot to be done in this city. Maybe you could stop by the Triple Triad Center to begin a successful career in card games, or maybe you could buy a ticket at the Blitzball Stadium to support your favorite team. If you're the kind of person who relies on luck, you may have more fun gambling in the Casino or betting on your favorite Chocobo in the Chocobo Races. If you're more of a person who enjoys simpler games, maybe you could try one of the numerous carnival-style mini-games found in the city, such as the shooting stand or the treasure chest game.

If you'd like more details regarding all the attractions and games available in Trano Golsaucia, you can find everything here! Of course, all of this requires money and odds are that you may not have a single Gil yet. If your Moogle is nice though, maybe you could ask him or her to loan you some Gil...

Airships
— Every Four Hours —

Upon reaching Trano Golsaucia, you will also have the right to board an Airship. Exceptionally, there is an Airship available every four hours, all because of your arrival so that Heroes of Light can meet each other and go to Aqures Ixen with ease.

The flight itself should take between four to six hours as it will travel from one city to the other on route. This is nothing special for the denizens of this world, but for you it may be quite the experience if you never boarded a plane or any flying contraptions before. The service is nothing special, but there are some light refreshments offered free of charge. Note that most of the employees on Airships are Hypello.

Aqures Ixen
— After an Airship Trip —

Upon arriving in Aqures Ixen, the first thing you will see is the Airship Port in the 12th District. Following that, no doubt your eyes will find the Castle of Aqures Ixen, a classic yet refined structure standing in the city. From there on, characters are free to visit the city-- There are no attractions in this city, but there are scientific buildings, another Blitzball Stadium and even an Observatory serving as base for the Heroes of Light. If you'd like more details regarding all that is available in Aqures Ixen, you can find everything here!

Or maybe -and perhaps inevitably!- you could visit your new house in the 11th or 14th District, and get to know your new neighbors and housemate. It's been a long day, so you could use some sleep. Hopefully your neighbors are people you will get along with...

"Oh. My. God."

While the Barkeep stood there like that, someone happened to stumble upon him. Sparks could hardly believe his eyes. Actually, for a moment, he refused to, as Crystallis had a way of messing with your senses.

The Barkeep was here. The Barkeep was here. And if the Barkeep wasn't able to leave in a hurry, that meant one thing: no more Force Galactic. No more easy ticket off this rock. No way at all.

Though the marshal and his horse standing there was probably fairly surprising to the Barkeep as well.

"What. What are you doing here?!"

"Ifin you ain't lookin' fer no trouble in yer place, you sure came to tha wrong one, Barkeep," Red said as she spotted a very familiar figure wandering through the snow. She nudged her Chocobo closer to him and dismounted, petting the bird on the neck. It really was becoming something that she cared for. One of the few things in this place that she did.

"I guess it's that time again, welcome ta tha strangest place ever," Red said as she started walking along side the Barkeep. Her own Moogle was no where to be seen, but she nodded to the Barkeep's with a soft howdy. "Nevada's also here."

i. waking up

The wind smelled different. There was something missing, something significant enough that it compels Seles to slowly open her eyes and look to the ceiling above. That couldn’t be right, she had been outside…

"Tokunaga?"

"Right here, Miss!"

That was not Tokunaga's voice.

In an instant Seles is sitting up, looking around to and fro in search of her butler and clutching a small object in her hand tightly. They couldn't have been caught already, all those plans they had put in place were too precise for it to happen this quickly—!

...

Just what was she wearing, this was not her hat.

ii. trano golsaucia

Now that she's had some time to adjust to her new role and thoroughly interrogate this 'new' Tokunaga, Seles has taken it upon herself to make the trip to the nearby city. When she arrives, she’s not... disappointed. If anything, it reminded her of what little she remembered of Meltokio.

All the games and lights were fun to look at, but that was all she could really do: just look. There wasn't a Gald to her name here, and if Tokunaga had been thorough in his explanation then she knew it was worthless. But that doesn’t stop her from being mesmerized by the sights and sounds, occasionally watching on with a growing smile.

iii. aqures ixen

Of course she had to depart the city eventually, and she had been reluctant about it—but not because she had enjoyed her short time there so much.

No, it’s because she hadn't been entirely fond of boarding a flying contraption that would carry her across the ocean. Was it convenient? Yes, it certainly was. Does she still feel ill now that she's walking off? You bet, and she has to take a moment to run over to the nearest railing and lean against it, trying to breath in the fresh air and wait for her feet to steady.

Here she thought she would handle it better than this, how was she to make her way to her supposed housing if she can’t keep it together?

Jade had arrived in the city slightly late, having arranged for an airship from Esdham. It was just as well he hadn't left for Aqures Ixen earlier as he had originally intended, or he would have had an even longer trek to meet the new arrivals.

Given their luck so far, there was a chance someone had come from Auldrant again. Jade strode past the excited crowds gathered around various attractions, keeping an eye out for those accompanied by moogles--

"Jaaaade~ They're selling Kupo Nuts there, kupooo! Won't you please buy some for me, kupo~?♥"

If only his moogle would stop being so bothersome.

After all too many kupos, he whisked off his large Black Mage hat and dropped it unceremoniously on Rosepuff. The moogle fell out of the air with a squeak. "Would you kindly stop the chattering? We didn't come here for the fun of it, you know."

"Kupo...!!! You need to stop doing that, you meaniekupo!" Rosepuff tossed the hat off and flew after Jade. "It's bad enough I have to put up with dirty, sweaty soldier men all the time kupo--"

The hat lay on the ground, abandoned.

"I'm... going to be? I mean, I'm kinda used to what I need to do, but, well... n-not in how they want me to do it." Tsubomi said, grinning sheepishly. "It's kinda hard to explain..."

"She's a hero where we come from-desu, but this world decided to do things differently." Chypre said.
bag_has_snapped: (Tsubomi - Wha?!)

[personal profile] bag_has_snapped 2015-05-07 10:42 am (UTC)(link)
"WHA!? I-I-I-I'M NOT GOING TO EAT EITHER OF THEM!" Tsubomi said, yelping as she pulled fairy and Moogle close to protect them. "Wh-why would would want to eat anyone anyway?! That's just rude!"
bag_has_snapped: (Tsubomi - OH!)

[personal profile] bag_has_snapped 2015-05-07 10:43 am (UTC)(link)
"H-Huh?" Tsubomi blinked as she took notice of MarKus. "A vacation? It's a strange one if that's really true."

"I really wish it was-kupo." her Moogle replied.
bag_has_snapped: (Tsubomi - Bashful)

[personal profile] bag_has_snapped 2015-05-07 10:49 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh, wow... that's really neat!" Tsubomi said, a little in awe over the idea. If she was back on her world, she did have the ability to fly on her own, but that wasn't an option here.

Either way, something like this was so much more interesting to experience.

Before Gregory could answer Kite spoke up. "Yes, Kupo. I'm not suited for watching children so I'm hoping to find another hero to lend me a hand. Kupo. Maybe get the boy enrolled in school."

Greg smiled as if he didn't hear a word Kite had said. "I'm looking for my brother Wirt." Then he caught up listening to his moogle talk about school. He hated school.

"I don't need school. I learn more outside of school!" He looked over at the girl with a smile. "Did you know that dinosaur used to have ears but there are no bones in ears so everyone forgot?"

"That's not true, kupo."

Greg pulled out a rock from his bag wiggling it in the air. "It's a ROCK FACT!"

"You think so?" Yuna smiled looking down at the young girl. "It's nice to feel free." The words were spoken as an after thought.

Yuna leaned on the ships railing with a calming smile. "My names Yuna by the way. You can call me Yunie though." Since there were two Yuna's in the city. It never stopped being confusing.

"Not all of them. This one is sort of like an amusement park." At least that was how it was described to her. Her home was simple and didn't have the sort of attractions that this place thrived on.

Zelda kept her pace even as she walked towards the small cafe. She was able to spot an empty table just inside the door and so she headed for that. Once inside she carefully took off her cloak draping it over the back of her chair while Kopula found a chair and plopped down on it. She glanced towards the moogle with a fond smile before pulling out the map and placing the folded paper on the table.

"You're welcome to order something. It's my treat." She was wearing a light blue spring dress despite the cold outside. It was a little warmer in Aqures Ixen.

Gregory's ...fact... Taiga kupo'd, "What?" What. Just. What? He glanced towards Kite, "Well, hopefully you'll have some luck getting help looking after that one, kupo. Something tells me that school would do him a lot of good." Just ... what even is a rock fact?

Sophie, however, took the words as gospel, watching him curiously. "I don't know him." Wirt, she means. And then this rock fact, well.. it must be true! It's a rock fact right? "Really?" ... what's a dinosaur? She reached up, touching her ear briefly, though Taiga made a vague noise. "K.. kupo, don't believe everything you hear, kid...especially that."

[Zelda smiles at that. She's happy to see someone so eager. A lot of the heroes have been losing hope and it isn't a comforting thought.]

At the observatory in Aqures Ixen. It's actually where we are set up right now. I have a journal there that has what we currently know about our situation.

[Her eyes glance over at the moogle. It makes her happy to know he's trying so hard too. These two will be an amazing pair.]

There is also a library though it doesn't have much about the heroes of light and their powers except for legends. I've spent some time studying them but each one is a little different. I'd take a look though. Maybe you'll see something I didn't.

Well, she's not from Auldrant, but oh no, someone's lost their hat! This is terrible! She'd been passing by when she overheard the conversation. She glanced over to Taiga, tilting her head. "'Kupo Nuts'?"

Taiga nodded, once he had his breath from chasing after his wandering heroine down. "It's our favorite food, kupo~! ... what are you doing now?"

"He dropped it." Sophie explained, picking up the hat. Hang on Jade, she's rescued your hat! And she's following after him and his moogle with it!

Zelda smiled at the pair. It looked like they would have fun. "It's nice to meet you and you too Taiga. This is Kopula." She gestured back to the little moogle who waved a little paw before floating up behind Zelda and placing his weight on her shoulder.

"If you need any help I'd be happy to do what I can. I've been trying to organize something to help the heroes who show up here. If you'd like that is."

"Take your time, Greg, there's no rush." The kid may be starving, but that's no excuse for eating at a choking hazard speed.

Alright, so he hadn't expected Greg to have much useful information, but it was worth a try. Barkeep sat in front of his bowl of stew and began eating slowly. Not too bad, though there were plenty of unidentifiable vegetables floating around in it.

"We got somethin' in common, Greg. I also last remember fallin' asleep in my own bed before wakin' up here. Whatever it was, it got us when we couldn't right back."

He looked out the window next to the table and reflected on his day so far. Maybe Annie was right: they should board the next airship to Aqures Ixen and get to the bottom of this the next chance they had. Speaking of which, he had to message his Moogle where to find him. By instinct, he focused on this thought as hard as he could before he remembered that without the Force Galactic, telepathic communication wasn't possible.

"Well, darn," he mused out loud. "We got to find her before this starts causin' trouble."

For a moment Ven thought she was referring to the moogle, only to realize that she was indicating over his other shoulder. He glanced back at where Wayward Wind's hilt was visible, and hesitated only a heartbeat or two before answering.

"Oh, this? It's called a Keyblade." It wasn't as if the name itself had to stay a secret, after all. Right then, something occurred to Ven and he perked up. "Hey -- you haven't seen anyone else around here with one, have you? It wouldn't look exactly like this one, but it'd be close." He couldn't help looking and feeling hopeful as he asked.

Sophie must have been on an earlier flight, to have missed seeing Seles, but after reaching her housing room and looking around, she decided to go back outside, with Taiga perched on her head. That way he would be able to keep a closer eye on her, right?

Although seeing someone leaning on the railing like that, was a curious sight. "Are you okay?"

Sophie tilted her head, "Help them how?" She certainly didn't think she needed help - but she also didn't consider the whole amnesia thing being a problem. Fortunately, Taiga did!

"Actually kupo, I don't know how much help you can provide on this, but my hero ..." He glanced at the other girl. "She doesn't remember some things, kupo. Actually, a lot of things - including her name, kupo." Do you know how long it took him to explain that 'Kupo' was not her name? Sob.

A Moogle? "So you're also not from this planet. Where you from?" Definitely not Mars or Jupiter, that he could tell.

"I'm fine with not bein' completely surprised, but it's not like rehearsal's gonna be as impressive as the real thing. And it's only for a minute." And even if they shooed him out, he'd still get a glimpse. It's a win-win situation. "Besides, I'll some back and pay to see the actual performance, won't we, Annie?"

"Sure," she replied in a bored tone.

"'course I know Sparks! Anyone who lives on Mars knows of him. In fact, I ran into him back in the Temple, somehow." He jutted a thumb in a general northern direction.

The warmth inside the cafe was definitely welcome. Ven looked over the small, simple interior with interest as he followed Zelda to the chosen table, where Mograe again took the initiative in glancing over the map first. Ven started to do the same, but at Zelda's offer his stomach decided to give a pang of protest -- reminding him that ah, right, he hadn't eaten in... a long time, if he was understanding his mess of memories correctly.

So he responded with a grateful smile and a nod. "Sure, thanks! Something small would be fine." Eager to help (and, perhaps, to make sure her Hero got something healthy in him rather than just junk food), Mograe perked up with an "I'll take care of it, kupo!" and drifted away towards the counter. Content to let her do as she liked, Ven didn't object, but returned his attention to the map now spread out on the table.

His eyes widened slightly. "Those are all different towns?" he asked, scanning the different points and notes along the paper. He was used to worlds being considerably smaller, at least from his experience.

"Keyblade?" What a funny name! At the question though, Sophie looked around, as if she could spot someone carrying something like that. But of course, no she didn't see anyone like that. "No... why?"

"I haven't seen anyone like that either, kupo, sorry. Do your friends have those as well?" Taiga put in.

Ven instantly deflated a bit, his smile faltering, but the moogle's question made him redirect his focus and he nodded. "Yeah. Their names are Terra and Aqua -- they're a little older than me." Or, they should have been, but he still wasn't sure about the whole concept of correct time passage and all that. Would they have aged without him? It was hard to say when he didn't know what had happened to them in the first place, and couldn't gauge the number of years beyond a rough estimate.

That unnerving thought made him frown, but he quickly forced himself to shake it off. "Or maybe--" Ven hesitated, feeling unsure for some reason, but then threw it out, anyway. "--someone named Sora? Do any of those names sound familiar?"
makingfriends: (Once chosen)

[personal profile] makingfriends 2015-05-07 01:53 pm (UTC)(link)
"Oh, yeah?" Ven looked surprised at that, but his smile didn't budge. "Then you already have an advantage, if you look at it that way." But do things differently, the fairy said, which probably meant... "...So your powers aren't working either?"

Ven's smile did fade then, as he glanced sidelong at his moogle. She'd told him as much, that it happened with all Heroes, but it was still a lot to take in. All of his hard-earned abilities, gone, like that. The Keyblade in his hand felt stiff, wrong somehow, even if it was still very much his own.

Barkeep opened his eyes. That voice. He heard it too often to doubt who it belonged to.

"Sparks Nevada? What're you doin' in this place? And Mercury?" He dropped the ridiculous pose and walked on over to the marshall.

"Listen, I know what you're goin' to say. You'll be askin' me to take us home, or fix whatever trouble's ailin' this planet using the Force Galactic, but you've got to believe me!" Part of his robes got caught underneath his foot, and he took a moment to kick it away. "I can't seem to use my space powers here! I dunno how that happened, but I got a bad feelin' some cosmic being got hold of it."

The thought is enough to make him shudder. Which he does. The potential for trouble is too much for him to handle at the moment.
