Intro Log || The City That Never Sleeps

Characters: All the "Heroes of Light" (only new characters can start threads).
Where: Trano Golsaucia, Aqures Ixen, Airships.
When: The 5th of May. The new Heroes of Light will awaken early in the morning.
Summary: The new Heroes of Light awaken in the Temple of Wind next to Trano Golsaucia, and they are informed by their assigned Moogles of what the situation and what their destinies are. This a log for them to react to the situation, meet each other and be welcomed by the former batches of Heroes of Light.

Where you were or what you were doing— It does not really matter. Not any more. Within a split second, the world around you collapses. Reality twists and shatters... Or maybe you are the one who is collapsing and shattering away from reality as you know it. No matter what the answer is, it will only take a few seconds for you to find yourself sinking into a void, your world vanishing into the distance. There is nothing but darkness as far as the eye can see. Even you feel different: all the powers you might once have had are now gone. It is silent, cold and before long it feels as though life itself is slipping out of you...

And at this very moment, when it looks as though nothing but a never-ending void awaits you, a red Crystal forms before you. In this void, its warmth compels you to grab it. Upon doing so, you can hear a soft, soothing voice speaking:

"Wake up."

Soon, the void itself vanishes and is replaced by a gentle breeze. Had it all been nothing more than a dream? The soothing voice repeats its call once more, but is soon replaced by a much less graceful "Wake up, Kupo!" Hand clutched on your Crystal, the call of the Moogle may finally bring you back to your senses. But you are no longer in your world, nor in the void. You are before the Crystal of Wind, in the Temple located right outside of a city called Trano Golsaucia. At this point, you may realize the breeze originates from the massive green Crystal floating nearby. As if it wasn't strange enough, your clothes have changed as well. They are now a reflection of the Jobs you are wielding.

Last but not least, you are surrounded by Moogles, small and fluffy creatures. They look pretty tired, but they will be more than happy to tell you everything you want to know. They shall tell you about your 'destiny' as a Hero of Light and about what awaits you. Or at least, they will tell you everything they do know, which isn't much in the end.

There are quite a few people around you as well. For the most part, they are people like you-- All clothed in their Job garbs and most likely wondering what is happening. There are also some other Humans, Tarutaru and Hypello in the room, but unlike you they don't have a Crystal, nor do they have a Moogle following them. If addressed, they will say they are the Guardians of the Crystal of Wind and will confirm everything the Moogle said. They will reveal they found you unconscious around the Crystal a couples hours ago, and immediately contacted the Moogles and the government of Aqures Ixen.

If asked about it, both the Moogles and Guardians will explain that Heroes of Light have already appeared in this world within the past year, and they all are in a city called Aqures Ixen. It's the first time Heroes have appeared in this temple. In fact, you probably should go to Aqures Ixen as well. The Moogle will tell you this is where your house is and where the other Heroes will be able to help you. Thankfully, should you decide to take your sweet time to get there, the other Heroes may just come to you.

The Other Heroes
— Anytime —
And indeed, thanks to the efficiency of Mognet and Shoopuf Airline it does not take long for the other Heroes to come around. You may meet them in Trano Golsaucia or in Aqures Ixen, or maybe even in one of the Airships going back and forth between the two cities. They are those who arrived in this world months ago and they have gone through quite a lot. You may have imagined heroic and charismatic figures when your Moogle told you there were other Heroes of Light in this world. You may have imagined persons with fearsome powers when they told you how they recklessly attacked the Heran Empire to free their friends a few months ago. And most importantly, you may have imagined them as people who would have the answers to your, doubtlessly, numerous questions.

If so, you may be up for a complete and utter disappointment. Still, for the most part they know more than you on the situation and may be more than happy to fill you in, especially if your Moogle didn't tell you much.

Trano Golsaucia
— Anytime —
Should you leave the Temple of Wind and head south, you will reach Trano Golsaucia. It's a gigantic city covered with snow-- To make it simple, this city is a gigantic amusement park. It is the most popular place in this world and of course, there are plenty of people all around. Thankfully, other Heroes of Light are easy to spot: they are the only ones who are followed by a Moogle and holding a Crystal.

And there is quite a lot to be done in this city. Maybe you could stop by the Triple Triad Center to begin a successful career in card games, or maybe you could buy a ticket at the Blitzball Stadium to support your favorite team. If you're the kind of person who relies on luck, you may have more fun gambling in the Casino or betting on your favorite Chocobo in the Chocobo Races. If you're more of a person who enjoys simpler games, maybe you could try one of the numerous carnival-style mini-games found in the city, such as the shooting stand or the treasure chest game.

Of course, all of this requires money and odds are that you may not have a single Gil yet. If your Moogle is nice though, maybe you could ask him or her to loan you some Gil...

Airships
— Every Four Hours —
Upon reaching Trano Golsaucia, you will also have the right to board an Airship. Exceptionally, there is an Airship available every four hours, all because of your arrival so that Heroes of Light can meet each other and go to Aqures Ixen with ease.

The flight itself should take between four to six hours as it will travel from one city to the other on route. This is nothing special for the denizens of this world, but for you it may be quite the experience if you never boarded a plane or any flying contraptions before. The service is nothing special, but there are some light refreshments offered free of charge. Note that most of the employees on Airships are Hypello.

Aqures Ixen
— After an Airship Trip —
Upon arriving in Aqures Ixen, the first thing you will see is the Airship Port in the 12th District. Following that, no doubt your eyes will find the Castle of Aqures Ixen, a classic yet refined structure standing in the city. From there on, characters are free to visit the city-- There are no attractions in this city, but there are scientific buildings, another Blitzball Stadium and even an Observatory serving as base for the Heroes of Light. If you'd like more details regarding all that is available in Aqures Ixen, you can find everything here!

Or maybe -and perhaps inevitably!- you could visit your new house in the 11th or 14th District, and get to know your new neighbors and housemate. It's been a long day, so you could use some sleep. Hopefully your neighbors are people you will get along with...

Alice chews her lower lip thoughtfully while she listens to his explanation. When he's done, she smiles.

“It does, thanks.”

Then she gives a little sigh.

“I appreciate them letting us have our freedom, but now that I'm here I can't just see myself doing nothing. And it still bothers me that they didn't just ask us for help.”

I will, thank you.

[Alice does have it all in hand, but she appreciates the offer just the same.]

I've never been much of an athlete myself, but you must be good if you're playing professionally.

If her sole purpose was to check on new arrivals, either she had drastically changed since Guy had last seen her or he needed to get to know her much better. He didn't know the reason, nor did he even know she was there until she decided to greet him on the ship in the worst way possible.

For him, anyway.

"Huh?"

He doesn't have luck when it comes to Anise. Just dodging skills, but even those fail during surprise attacks. Therefore, he hears her but doesn't have time to get out of her way before she crashes into him.

"A-Anise! Where'd you come from...?

The reality of the situation then really hit her. She made a soft groaning noise under her breath.

"Well, knowing we have a base of operations is a great comfort. But this 'saving the world' business..."

She trailed off remembering how the crystals had betrayed her once before. Edea didn't know if she'd be willing to blindly go in again.

"What are you planning on doing for work? I was none too pleased to find out my home world's currency is completely useless."

Her face reflected her lack of pleasure at that fact. "Saving the world... I Feel like this saving the world business requires more research before I blindly jump in." The blonde spoke as she watched him as he tuned the instrument.

"Don't get me wrong, I'm not offering out of pity or anything like that," Asbel replied. "And you won't have to repay me. I'd just like to help you, that's all. I mean, it's not every day that you wind up on another world, right?"

Or maybe it was. He supposed when he got right down to it, he didn't know much about this man's circumstances. Anything, really.

"Though I guess it is pretty weird for a stranger to be saying things like this."

Edea smirked while turning her head to the giant crystal looming in her presence. It was oddly reminiscent of her home's wind crystal.

Still staring away at the monolith she replied. "Well, that's somewhat comforting to know I'm not the only one who's been stripped from their home."

She then slowly turned back to Zelda to look her in the eye. Edea's stance was confident and strong, despite the whirlwind of emotions and confusion raging in her mind.

"Is there anything I can or should do to find out more about what i'm supposed to do? How I can help?"

She was pretty unsure of what to do and where to go. Even with her last journey, she at least knew the world decently well. It wasn't as scary. But this, this is completely new and unknown!

Guy also had to laugh a little bit--apologies to Acrisius--at Yuri's response, both to him and to his moogle companion. At least until Yuri decided to climb up onto the railing itself, balancing up on it with no support.

"Not an airship? What wa--h-hey, wait, I don't think you should go that far!"

Then yer already on your way. More than, like, most people here, anyway. We even walk around with these things in our pockets, and we don't even really know what they do. Somethin' about our Jobs, they say, but somethin' tells me that ain't the whole story.

[Sparks takes out his own crystal from his shirt pocket, which is now completely clear as opposed to red or blue like a lot of the others.]

"Nope. Sure ain't. But I don't plan on letting any planet I'm livin' on turn me into some tacky art piece for all eternity. I'm gettin' back to Mars, and no mad scientist who can't stop makin' crystals ruin everything get in my way. No sir."

Sparks folded his arms, back to the picture of confidence. This was despite the fact that such confidence was completely baseless, as almost everything for him has gone completely wrong since he arrived and the future wasn't looking much better.

"Sort of? But none of us have really done much with it yet." Asbel rubbed the back of his head. "Manami stays out most of the day - at least when he's not napping, and I don't see Logen or Allenby around all that much either."

But he did have an idea! Asbel let his arm drop as he presented it to her.

"Tell you what. If you decide you really enjoy gardening," he began, about 99% sure that she would. "And if you run out of room over here, you can plant things over at our place, too."

"I do this." Johnny nods a head towards the guitar. "Musician mostly. Couple of hours here and there at a weapons shop, too. Ain't glamorous, but I'm used to gettin' by with only the bare minimum anyway."

Satisfied with the tune up, Johnny strummed out a few chords to make sure it was ready to go.

"As for savin' the world, I don't got a clue on how we're supposed to manage that. Things here only get harder to understand as the weeks go by, not easier. But then again, this place ain't like any other I've ever been to."

He shrugged. Johnny really did want to get angry about all the impending danger, but he'd been in too many similar situations in the past. Besides, after everything that's happened in this world to him so far has only left him confused about his place in it.

I'm not sure. There may be a method but it seems pretty random. I was in the army when I was brought here but wound up as a black mage. I also got a sword from Gaia from Jessie, one of our supporters in Aqures Ixen? But I haven't worked on anything that can use it yet.

[He starts to look a little guilty as he finishes talking about the sword, as if he feels like he should be planning around it better.]

"A few months now? It must be...more than half a year...wow." He looked shocked, like he hadn't done the math in a while.

"It's not so bad here, but then again I come from a world similar to this one. And most everyone I know is here." He really wasn't missing much from home at this point. The one person he was concerned about was his mom. Kunsel was probably doing good for himself though.

"Mm-hm..." Robin murmured, trailing off with a distant look in her eyes for a moment. She didn't know anyone here; even having her son here wasn't quite the same. She never met him before. Not for the first time, but more keenly, she felt the loss of the Shepherds. "That seems like it would help. But... it doesn't seem like such a bad place to spend that much time, either. It's an interesting world. And parts of it..."

She tilted her head, glancing back in the direction of Trano Golsaucia. "It looked fun. Lively."

[At the sight of a fellow Moogle, the pirate Pakku instantly trots forward and flings himself into the air. His paw comes out for a friendly shake, holding it out in the sort of manner that suggests a sort of ritual is about to commence. It's been some time since he's actually done the Moogle Meeting; the special handshake passed down by gentlemen Moogles since long before his time. The question is, does the other Moogle know it, or was now not the appropriate time to embark upon such gentle greetings.

While Pakku looks on with expectation, Luffy's hands are pulled away from the obvious shroud of blue that covers the appearance of Levy's beard.]

Huh. So every one has a Moogle, huh?

[The slap to Luffy's chest comes swift and hard as Pakku reels back to him with sharpened teeth extending out of his gaping maw.]

Of course they do, you idiot! Did you only just now realize that?!

Luffy merely shrugs, giving a look of concern which lacks the sort of manners or care that one would normally hold for some one with a case of amnesia.

"Suit yerself."

The pirate turns on his heels, walking off to the side before he turns sharply again to walk past the pair. The accompanying Moogle blinks to both Sophie and her partner, then catches up to the moment upon realizing that his Captain was moving on ahead.

"Ah-! I'm sorry! Please, don't mind him! He's been under a lot of stress lately, being stuck here and dying in prison and all-! He's a nice guy, believe me!"

Desperately trying to finish, Pakku gives a polite nod of his head before jumping up to flutter his wings in the direction of the disconcerted pirate.

Luffy laughs aloud as she introduces both creatures, chuckling as a hand comes to his belly.

"Chypre? That's a funny name! You guys are BOTH Chypre? Aww- that has to stink! Do you guys ever confuse who gets which plate at dinner?"

Pakku hangs his head, a small cloud of grey forming over him as he feels the embarrassment of being partnered with the clueless, absent-minded pirate.

"Captain.. That's not very polite."

The Moogle clears his throat, bowing his head down now that pleasantries have been exchanged.

"It's a pleasure to meet you both. I'm Pakku, and this here is my Captain, Monkey D. Luffy. It isn't hard to get around here, so I'm sure the two of you are in goods hands with your Chypre-Moogle here. I doubt Luffy and I will be of much help. We're off on an adventure to try and find the Queen, so you might see us in the Jail pretty soon."

Ear to the ground? That was one way of putting it, and she looks puzzled for a moment before she smiles in turn, looking away from Morgan and shaking her head toward the distant horizon.

"Everyone seems occupied with their own business, I honestly hadn't thought about doing it louder." Mainly because she was still testing to see if what Sein had told her about its power was true, and if it was... She wanted a moment to herself in order to come to terms with it.

Well that was one way of making things awkward quickly, and Tear looks immediately apologetic for it. To her understanding it wasn't her fault in the slightest, but to forget someone who greeted her the way Yuna had? It seemed wrong...

"Yuna. It's a pleasure to meet you, I don't think it's necessary for me to introduce myself again." ... Maybe that's not the best jab at humour ever...

"Then you have already encountered a situation like this one before?"

And Tear does arrive sooner rather than later, making her way into the household quietly and taking note of the surroundings. The list of people doesn't escape her attention, and it wouldn't be out of the question for someone to be home at this hour. So when she catches sight of Jade in the armchair, she's really not surprised.

... In fact, it's not at all surprising that the first person she encountered was Jade. She takes a deep breath and crosses her arms at the sight of him there, Sein following behind her dutifully. "Colonel? Just how long have you been sitting there?"

And Seles begins to follow along slowly but surely, if only because Sophie seemed to want to go slowly, so... They should go slowly! That was the best plan.

But just walking like this was a little awkward, and speaking of which— "Excuse me, but I don't think you ever told me your name?"

And Tokunaga certainly seems to be making a habit of blabbing Seles' name to everyone so far.

Aqures Ixen... That was where they were supposed to head for and live, right? If that were the case, then maybe she could watch Yuna play there someday.

And well, there was that mystery about the breathing solved...! "A spell? Tokunaga said something about that, when I first woke up. Not a spell for breathing, but being a mage of some kind?"

"Maybe, if I get the chance to." Just because it was a new world didn't mean she was free to do anything, and even if it were true, she had to take it one step at a time. Right?

"Does that mean you've already travelled this world? Because I only just got here, I really don't know much about it." Aside from what her pushy moogle has already shared with her.

"Where I'm staying? That would be—"

"B-06! Therefore, if you ever want to do Miss Seles a courtesy she can be found there, or you can send a letter and I will deliver it to her straight away—!"

Oh what was that? The sound of Seles tugging him down and just holding him like some stuffed animal? Yep, that is exactly what she is doing. "Please excuse him, I'll talk to him about all this later."

"A new friend?" Yes, that was one way of putting it, wasn't it? Even if the very idea was so strange and new to her.

And she would hope that wouldn't be grounds for hating her in this world! "How could it be so different? It seems pretty normal to me so far."
