Opening up the flower shop~
Where: Aqures Ixen: Terra’s new flower shop (Also a rescue center for animals and pets) located at the border between the 14th and 09th District of Aqures Ixen.
When: 9th through the month of May~ and June!
Summary: Terra has just opened her shop, Jardin Verdoyant, after spending some time and money getting it ready. Bartz had helped her where he could. Now it is open and ready for business. In June Terra can be found at the flower shop or her home. The memories left her feeling a little uncomfortable about people.
Warning: None.
Terra had made sure the shop was perfect before sending out Tempest with the flyers. There were rows of plants cut from the stem and rearranged in lovely patterns as well as rows of bright seasonal flowers that were still rooted to a clump of soft dirt. She wanted people to be able to plant flowers as well as have them to be placed in a vase or given as gifts. She had collected seeds as well, which sat in small baskets on the front counter, each with the flowers names written out on small pieces of parchment. The whole store front burst with colors drawing in those who walked by.
The back of the store was simple, Terra was in the process of outfitting it as a greenhouse of sorts and she hoped to have it set up so she could grow spring and summer flowers throughout the winter. On the far side of that wall there were pens and a dozen or so kittens were playing with small toys that Terra had made a few days before. Two of the kittens, whom Terra has trained, were wandering around the store front pulling in customers with soft meows. One was black with startling blue green eyes while the other was an orange tabby cat who’s eyes shined gold in the light of the sun.
Terra was excited and it showed in a happy smile as she lightly misted water over a collection of carnations.
She had her long green hair pulled back into a ponytail with loose strains falling to frame her delicate features. For once Terra wasn't wearing a dress deciding to wear a purple tank top and a pair of worn shorts. She wore brown boots that ended at her calf which were slightly covered in dirt and scuffed from work.

Re: Later June
With her apology, he blinked, then shook his head. "Further apologies, after those in our letters, are not needed. I well understand they chose memories that made us vulnerable." He wasn't one who needed silence filled either, but a response was necessary.
She had nothing to be guilty of, in his eyes.
Later June
Terra had experiance in having memories where she didn't feel like she was in control.
As she worked the kittens slowly moved towards Vincent to investigate the stranger. A larger cat jumped up on the table and sat in front of Vincent staring into his eyes before deciding he was going to take Vincent's lap as his seat.
Terra turned with two cups of tea and smiled at the sight of Vincent and kittens. "They like you."
Re: Later June
"I tend to sit still and be quiet." Unclear whether he was being sarcastic or not. Also unclear whether he actually minded being swarmed by them.
Later June
She walked over placing the tea cup in front of her guest with a warm smile. The steam curled into the air wafting the faint floral scent upwards. It was a collection of flowers that Terra had dried which tasted a little like sweet rose blossoms even though there was no added sugar.
"I think animals can sense the heart of others." It was a speculation but Terra noticed that the cats would react differently when she was happy or sad. Even if she didn't let on that her feelings had changed. She could only summarize that the cats in some way could sense her feelings and intentions.
Terra took a seat across from Vincent, curling her fingers around her own cup of tea. "Thank you for coming." She looked down at the hot murky liquid as a thin finger lightly tapped the edge of the cup. "There is a lot I've been thinking about but... I had a question. I mean, if it's okay to ask. You don't have to answer." She didn't want to pry but she was curious.
Re: Later June
Later June
Her bright blue eyes met his, her head tilting slightly to the side. A small kitten had come up and was rubbing against Terra's leg as it tried to plea for affection.
"You weren't born with the other half of you? I thought you said that someone made you." She was curious, knowing what experiments that the scientist at the Empire had put her through. She wondered how much of that would have been the same. Would they have tested his limits to see how far they could push him? Maybe that was why they both held the same calm silence.
Re: Later June
"It is not entirely clear, whether it is a part of my inner nature made manifest, or a force outside implanted in me that uses me as a host." He finally replied carefully. "My memories were also bared during the event, including when I was shot and subsequently became an experiment. I have experienced 3 prior transformations to the one you witnessed. The others have each become silent, although a shadow remains of their presence, as the newest has emerged."
Later June
"I see." It sounded different than her own change. "It's more than just instinct then?"
Her own transformation was instinct, it wasn't another person or creature but a part of herself that she had no idea how to handle. She couldn't control the power and in that form she felt like a conduit for it.
Re: Later June
Quiet again, his thoughts turned inward before he continued aloud. "It seems to be triggered when I am under great duress and pain. When it is triggered, I have very little control of the other. I am at its mercy, as if I am little but a passenger. Yet I recognize parts of it in myself, and my nature. I have the barest control to recognize friend from foe, ally from enemy."
Later June
Terra didn't want sympathy. She didn't want pity, she just wanted to confirm the things she saw in her dreams as memories.
"As you saw, my world was destroy and everyone in it killed.. except for me. My mother, I know, was human. My father was an Esper." Her blue eyes glanced down at her tea and she tried to take another sip feeling her throat dry as she spoke. "That form, it's been part of me since I was young. I don't understand it myself."
She paused for a long moment knowing that Vincent would give her time. It was strange to trust someone she hadn't met before now but somehow, because he was a stranger, it was easier. "I was five. At first it wasn't so bad. For a year or two I grew up in secret. I don't remember much. Just a few people who'd see me. Doctors and scientists. I could always tell because they were so cold. At first I was scared but after awhile I didn't feel anything at all."
Terra laps into silence now looking at her tea like the cup heal the answers.
Re: Later June
"Sometimes it is easier to not feel at all. One becomes inured to things that would be unusual to someone of more normal background. Showing emotions outwardly, or letting others know what you do feel, becomes a weapon against you. So it becomes easier to simply not feel anything. To grow so inwardly focused that any stirring of emotion seems foreign."
Later June
"That's how I was when I first arrived but... I desperately want to understand love." Bright blue eyes look up from her tea and towards Vincent, her tone almost desperate. "Have you ever felt love? Is it really a feeling you would give up to feel no pain at all?"
She needed to know if her search was fruitless. She knew what Kefka would say, she knew what those in her memories would say. She didn't know what her parents might say but she knew that they had found love because they found each other.
Re: Later June
He hadn't seen her as visitor in his own memory; had she heard about it anyways? Had something in his voice, or his expression given her cause to think he would be one to ask about this? A quick mental reviewing of his words and what he'd spoken to her about so far turned up little.
"You single out that emotion among many. Have you felt others, that this one alone is lacking?" Vincent supposed he wasn't really opposed to answering her; certainly his view on 'love' wouldn't be the same as what she'd get from others. But what was driving this line of inquiry interested him more.
Later June
"I haven't felt other emotions but... love" Even when she repeated the word it felt foreign on her tongue. "I can't understand it and... I'm scared. What if a monster can't find love again..." If he knew of love, if Vincent could find love even being what he was then surly Terra could too.
"I'm sorry.. you don't have to answer. I just... I'm the last of my race and I don't truly belong anywhere. I wanted to hope that I could feel something as powerful as love." Something that made her parents stay together even though one was Esper and the other human. It was something amazing and it was something she didn't understand.
Re: Later June
"Love isn't necessarily logical, from my experience. Most emotions aren't. They're often the very antithesis of 'logic'. One can make guesses, and surmise why one feels a certain way, but it often isn't as simple as A leads to B leads to C..."
It wasn't the answer Terra wanted, that he knew for certain. "Emotions also don't need to be felt 'strongly' to be there. There is a marked difference between feeling nothing at all, and feeling something even if it's only a little something."
Later June
Her eyes cast downward as she tried to make sense of it. She knew that she's felt a strange warmth in her chest, it had to be love but she didn't know what that meant. Rikku had said there were many kinds of love and the list she had made was confusing and there were just to many types of love.
Terra's gaze fell on the plant that rested on the table between them for a moment before she heard a soft mew at her ankle. A kitten had wandered up to her sensing her distress. A soft smile broke over Terra's features as she reached down to pick up the little kitten. It purred in her lap curling against her as if to lift her spirits.
Re: Later June
Later June
Her gaze looked back up towards Vincent. “Thank you for speaking with me.” She wasn’t sure what, if anything has changed but she feels a little lighter.
There will always be nightmares of her memories but if she focused then she believed it would be okay. She had to believe that. Terra’s gaze stayed locked with Vincent’s, “I wish there was a way I could repay you.” He had only lent an ear but it meant a lot to the young Esper.
Re: Later June
If he hadn't wanted to come and listen, then he wouldn't have come; it was that simple.
Later June
“I have something.”
She stepped behind a vale of green as she walked through the collection of plants that she had been cultivating. She stopped at a particular bush with a few stemmed roses growing in harmony. It was a small bush and Terra was going to wait until it grew in strength before selling any of its flowers but there was no harm in taking one. She carefully clipped it treating the end so that the plant could intake more nutrients.
Terra came back to the table with a dark purple, almost black, rose in her hand. As light glinted off it you could see shades of dark blue and purple mixing together. “Here.” She knows that it’s something small and it won’t last forever but it was meaningful which was all that mattered to the young Esper.
Re: Later June
His head tilted when she returned with the flower, as he'd let her have the space. Focusing instead on gently brushing his fingers through the fur of the cat that had claimed his lap for it's nap. The low purr was soothing, and he could see why others enjoyed pets. Careful of his claws, he accepted the flower and held it delicately. "No gift or reciprocation is necessary. It is appreciated, and lovely though. Thank you."
Later June
Terra remained standing since a large white cat had taken her seat.
"I know that I don't need too but.." She smiled a little shyly. "I'm very grateful that I had met you." Even if they way they met wasn't how she wished too.
Re: Later June
Until it started chasing her. Or her scarf. Really, pet-ownership wasn't in his future.
He was quiet until she spoke again, then raised an eyebrow. His expression as as stoic as ever, but there was a hint of amusement in the arched brow and in the low voice. "Usually I do not receive that response to intruding in another's privacy and then fighting them while changed." Closing his eye, expression returning to neutral as he continued to stroke the cat that had claimed him as perch. "I am glad I was able to be of assistance."
Later June
"It was a strange meeting." Terra wouldn't say she preferred it but it left it easy to talk about personal topics even if they both still had their secrets.
She bowed her head towards him slightly. "If I can ever assist you, please let me know." It wasn't as a repayment. She wanted to do what she could to help.
Re: Later June
"But I shall remember. Please do the same for me." He would come to her aid if she asked. This had been, overall, a pleasant meeting.
