Summary: Flynn was told to take a break. So he is. Begrudgingly. But at least he looks good in board shorts.

[It's a sunny day and Flynn leans back into the beach chair, unable to really relax - he was told to relax, and Flynn took orders rather seriously, but this was one thing he wasn't good with. That, and cooking, but he'd never admit to cooking badly. In any case, after navigating the odd world of sun screen Flynn takes a look and feels slightly at ease considering that there were many people minding their own business at the beach, so he felt less self-conscious than he thought he would.]

[Drinks do in fact make everything better. Robin grabs the fruity drink and takes a long sip of it, before she looks back up at Flynn and smiles.]

Why, thank you!

[She extends a hand up to him.] I'm Robin.

[Takes her hand and shakes it, adding in a knightly bow]

I guess technically I'm a "Hero of Darkness" since I awoke in custody of the Empire? I'm not entirely sure how the system works.

Ah! I hadn't heard of that before, but... I see. They recovered you from the Empire, then, clearly.

[And from all she's heard, thank the gods for that.]

Have you been here long, Robin?

I just arrived with the last batch of Heroes, I'm afraid.

Nothing wrong with that. Some people disappear as often as they bring people in, so it's not a terrible thing.

I'm just happy to have more allies.

As am I! It's a relief to know there's others to help here, despite the trying circumstances. No one is prepared to cross worlds, after all.

[It makes Flynn think of when the Entelexeia crossed death into life reborn as Spirits, which seemed unsettling to compare - this was nothing like that, but it was the only way he could make any sense of it.]

How have you been adjusting to life here so far?

I've had some trouble here and there, but it hasn't been all bad.

Much the same. Everyone has been helpful and I've quite liked my time in this world. But...

[She trails off, then shakes her head.] It's more advanced. Some of the technology here is incredible.

Yeah, I haven't seen much of anything like this even in my world. Though I have to say, I've become suspicious of any seemingly miraculous power source - what are the costs they're not telling us?

Power source? I've not heard this before.

Well... the original source of raw energy in my world that powered blastia as well as magic was known as aer, but it turns out that over-consumption would throw the world's balance out of whack.

A mage managed to figure out a way to convert aer into a more stable form called mana, but the long-term effects of using that have yet to be seen.

I doubt that it's without limit. I mean, even a fire will cause smoke, right?

That is true. Eventually, all power has a cost.

[Even if she thinks of it more as personal power coming with a cost.]

My apologies, I didn't mean to cloud this sunny day with pessimistic thoughts.

It's a bad habit of mine, oversimplifying things or forgetting the entire picture.

How about we try building a sand castle? I've seen some children build some, but never had the pleasure of doing so myself.
