Doing Favors for Monsters

Characters: Robin and... anyone!?
Where: The fields outside of Aqures Ixen.
When: June 15!
Summary: Robin and others -- either traveling with her or encountering her -- discover a Mu. The adorable creature has a very strange request. The Mu will show up a couple tags in!
Warnings: None?

Taking to the countryside had been a way for Robin to practice her skills. She often did this with Ventus, though hardly exclusively, and plenty of practice had made her feel more at home with her Jobs. This, she felt, was likely to be a good thing. After all, Fairy Tale's first mission was coming up, and she needed to be ready. A bit of practice before she left seemed like a wise idea. After all, she would have to do the real thing soon enough.

But fighting monsters in the countryside took time. Thus, Robin chose to sit down on a rock and rest back under a tree. Her eyes were heavy -- she had walked most of the day -- and the sword at her side had seen good use. She really should thank MarKus for his hard work.

She rubbed at her eyes, idly. It wasn't hard to spot her; that forest green scholar's coat stood out, as did the woman's striking silver hair.

Minako rather enjoyed going out, training and fighting the good fight against monsters. It made her feel like she was in a video game more and more and she enjoyed every second.

This time though she had planned on going out further than she usually would and she couldn't help but follow where her feet would lead her. A smile on her face and her sword at her side. She was ready for anything that may come her way.

However she was not expecting to run into someone else out here as she skidded to a stop.

"Oh, hi there. I didn't think others went this far to fight monsters."

"Sometimes!" Robin said, with a quick grin at Minako. She shuffled to sit up straighter. She hadn't seen her since she arrived in Crystallis; after everything that happened, it felt so recent and yet so long ago. She waved a hand.

"I'm taking a break, right now," she said. "I took a few of them down already, but..." She held a hand up, and a bolt of lightning crackled over it. "I ran out of magic after awhile."

"Ah, so you have magic as part of your jobs. I don't, or at least I don't use my abilities as much yet. had no reason too." She wondered if that was an advantage of being a ninja and warrior really. They lacked magic, but still had abilities.

"Though I wish I had brought potions and things like that to help you. But I didn't think to do that." She added as she gave a small laugh, putting a hand behind her head. She had thought about it, but had chosen not to.

"So what will you do now anyway, if you don't have magic I mean?"

"Hope that I get some back, soon enough," Robin said with a smile. She looked down at her hand, then she looked back up at Minako. "But I should have brought some potions with me! It's a good though."

She tilted her head to the side and considered. "What jobs do you have?"

While she looked at Minako, Robin missed something behind her: a shuffle in the bushes. Something was approaching...?

"I think we've all made the mistake of forgetting that. You would think they would tell us it's kind of important." In the sense that if you get too hurt you could simply use one and you'll feel ten times better.

"My jobs are warrior and ninja, so I do have the speed aspect at least." She kind of enjoyed being slightly faster than she had been usually. As she finished her words she turned her head, she was sure she just heard something.

"Did you hear that? I think a monster might be near by."

"Oh, good, that's--" Minako's words caught Robin's attention. She turned and looked, before she spotted the bushes. Something moved; her hand started towards her sword hilt but never made it there.

A small, rodent-like creature leaped from the bushes. It did not attack, but instead stopped and looked between Minako and RObin for a moment. It had those large, adorable eyes.

And it made no move whatsoever to pose a threat.

"A-aw," Robin murmured softly.

Minako nearly freaked out, no idea what to do, but she knew that right now it could be a threat, so relaxing slightly she was still on guard. That was until the creature made it's appearance. The moment it came out she relaxed even more and kneeling down.

"Awwww, it's so cute. I wonder if it will let us pet it?"

"I'm not sure," Robin murmured. She put a hand to her chin. It really was quite cute. "Maybe we could ask it?"

The Mu hopped over, sniffing at both of them, before it finally looked up at Minako. Then it leaned down and picked up two wooden sticks from the ground -- and rubbed them together. The look that it gave her was a question. Or, perhaps, a request.

"Do you think it would answer if we asked?" She thought it was just an animal and usually they don't talk back. She watched what it was doing and was trying to figure out what on earth it was doing or why. Why the sticks? She doesn't get it.

"So...does it want us to build a fire, if so then why?"

"...well..." Robin looked down at the Mu. It looked back up at them expectantly. "...it can't hurt to build it one, right?"

"It can't, but I don't think one can do it with just two sticks. So maybe finding more wood might be a good idea first." Though she hadn't a clue where they could find wood in the middle of no where really.

"Right. Let's see..." Robin looked around, then she paused and looked up. "I think there might be some branches up there that would work. If I give you a boost, could get a few of them down?"

"I don't think I need a boost. Maybe my Ninja job might help me. But if I fall flat on my butt, then I guess you could help." She paused for a moment, maybe this was not the best time to test that out.

"Actually I think the boost will be the best idea." She looked over to where the other had suggested, surveying it for a moment or two before she moved to get ready. "Okay, I'm ready to go."

"I've got you, then," Robin said. She lifted Minako up by the waist, holding her up towards the branches. She might still have to reach to grab the branches, but it would be easiest now. "Go for the dry ones!"

The Mu looked up at them and waited, patiently.

She was glad that when she was lifted things were stable. She was also kind of glad she didn't have any skirts to wear in this world and only had trousers, otherwise this could have been rather awkward.

Reaching out she managed to grab a few few twigs she felt would be useful in this situation. "Okay, you can put me down now. I think I have enough."

"Great! Here we go, then." Robin took some of the sticks and began arranging them, until they had a neat pile. The Mu watched the two. Then, at the end, the tactician stepped back and looked down at the pile. "Let's hope I have enough mana recharged."

She focused. It took a moment; then a small whirl of fire appeared, and spun off her outstretched palm. It hit the pile of sticks, which snapped and crackled. Then, fire blazed up from it.

The Mu squeaked joyfully and began clapping its hands together.

Minako raised her arms up into the air and slightly jumping with joy. They did it. They actually did it. She didn't quite understand the reason why they needed to do it since it could cause monsters to come towards them, but they did it never the less.

"Excellent. We actually did it with teamwork. I think it's safe to say we did a brilliant job."

"Yeah!" Robin said, with a grin. "Great job! And--I think that little guy is happy, huh?"

She motioned down at the Mu, who beamed up at them. He clapped his hands together more, doing a little dance around the fire. Then he plopped down.

They wouldn't know it yet, but there was a gift waiting for them -- a vague sense of knowledge, later, in their jobs.

She looked at the little guy. "He does look it... if they are a he. They could be a female for all I know." That was something she wanted to found out, but they had really no way of knowing without checking and that seemed awfully rude of them to check.

"Well with him happy, I guess we could go. or wait until the fire dies down since this might attract attention."

Robin considered that, then she nodded.

"I don't mind waiting for the fire to die down a little," she said. She leaned back and sighed. "It's a chance to relax. Us Heroes of Light don't get those often."

"Don't we? I mean since I arrived nearly two months ago, not a lot has happened. I mean those dream memory things happened, but I didn't do a lot there." She had gone to sit down, her eyes glancing up toward the sky. She wondered if that would change though. After all they had to save the world, it was never going to be peaceful all the time.

"Guess that will change sooner or later."

"I suppose I might be making myself busy," Robin admitted with an awkward laugh. She leaned back against the tree again, then she sighed. "With the military and Fairy Tale... ah, though."

She looked up and back at Minako. "I think you're correct. It will change, sooner or later."

"Fairy Tales? You mean your part of stories or something?" Minako questioned, but deep down she knew what the other might mean. It didn't mean that a all, but sometimes one had to play dumb so others cant figure her out.

"And when it does, we'll be ready." She was at least determined about that, she knew she was going to do her best when that time came as well.

"No, no, it's a wizard's guild," she said. "Levy McGarden started it up."

Robin tilted her head to the side, before she nodded at Minako. She could agree with that sentiment. They would just have to find out what it was. "Indeed," she agreed. "I think we'll be able to!"

"A place for wizards, but we are heroes not magicians."

She nodded slightly. She was somewhat glad to be here after everything that had happened, but it still meant she was still fighting. and even though her princess was not here... she knew in her mind she was still fighting for her.

"I know we will, I have hope after all."
