Let the hiring, begin!

Characters: MarKus Haley  & Potential applicants
Where: Haley's Anvil
When: September 8th and a timeframe therein
Summary: MarKus put out flyers for hiring Heroes who have smithing experience, preferably those with the Job class, and not simply those who have 'actual experience'.

MarKus is already hard at work still hammering out building materials; tools, support structures, hinges, all that good stuff. For him and his team, it's quick work that keeps the young man and his burly crew occupied.  But as shop owner, when it's time to interview for hiring, it's upon the applicant to put on his or her big boy pants and speak with him!

Albel doesn't need any invitation to talk to someone when he wants. He stalked into the smithy with long, confident strides, heading straight for MarKus and ignoring the others.

"Hey." He nodded. "What are you making?"

Albel scanned over the barrels of supplies, running his hand over them. Metal beams, hinges, plates, nails...

"A good use of your time," he murmured thoughtfully. "You already made those lightning weapons. And the heroes have their own through their jobs -- or they should."

If the empire were to invade again, the weapons situation was in hand. But with the main players defeated and Kalki missing, he doubted the empire would make such a move without preparation. What was important now, for natives and heroes alike, was rebuilding the city to restore morale.

Albel nodded and took the tools, feeling their weight. Strong. Common, but effective. Easily good enough to make some basic tools of his own.

"Fair enough." He moved toward an open work station. "I'll let you know when I'm finished. It won't be hard."

Making a hammer, clamps, building materials -- all considerably easier than making a fine blade.

Albel wasted no time in stoking the flames of the furnace. Pumping hard on the bellows, heat flourished in the pit and after a moment more, Albel took up the tongs. Firmly fitting an ingot into their grip, Albel carefully held it over the fire and began melting it down into a mold for a new hammer head.

Slowly but surely, the metal began to glow a hot red then drip in pieces down into the mold. Albel slowly rotated his wrist, distributing the heat evenly over the end of the ingot.
