THE ROOM(MATE)
WHO: Rukia Kuchiki, OPEN (especially to people in B-03)
WHAT: Rukia explores the city to learn how to navigate this new placeand to find the best trees to climb what no, as well as get a look at the house where she was assigned to live.
WHEN: Backdated to September 5th - Early Evening
WHERE: Aqures Ixren, then B-03
WARNINGS: None. Rukia is short.
[Moving Around the City]
Chappopo the Moogle was lucky. The hero she'd been assigned to was a couple of inches under five feet tall. As such, there was no need to worry about keeping up with a long-legged stride. Rukia's pace was brisk and confident, but her stride was short. She showed her curiosity without reservation, moving past the populace and pausing occasionally to examine a vendor's cart or a shop window. Doing so allowed her to catch a glimpse of her reflection. The ninja's hood and mask were slipped down long ago, and she was relieved to find that her appearance was largely unchanged. She still looked as she had when she was a Soul Reaper.
"I should like to know the places of importance," Rukia said, pulling herself away from a clothing shop. Wearing robes of black so openly amongst other humans was a little strange, but at least she wasn't alone. She saw at least one or two others wearing the same ninja garments as she did.
"Kupo? Should we visit the airship port?"
Rukia smiled. Airships... She could imagine what those would be like. She inclined her head. "I would like that, thank you."
Maybe they could get something to eat, as well. Surely they would have given her some of these 'gils' they'd mentioned, to see to her basic needs.
[Finding B-03]
It was dark by the time Rukia had got her fill of the city. There was still much more to see (particularly the Chocobo Stables, which were closed much to her disappointment), but she was tired and more than ready to rest. Following Chappopo's directions, Rukia approached the house to which she was assigned. It seemed like a comfortable place, at least from the outside. As to what the interior held, she couldn't guess. Rukia rapped politely on the front door with her knuckles.
"There will be others living here as well?"
"Three, I believe," Chappopo answered.
Rukia nodded slowly, thoughtful. Interesting. It would be good in any case to meet others who were better versed in the world and the duties of being a Hero of Light. She stood patiently on the front step, arms resting loosely at her sides.
"I'll leave you to it, then. Good night, Rukia-po!"
She smiled warmly. "Good night to you as well. Thank you for your guidance this day."
[OOC: Still new, feel free to let me know if I made a mistake, and I'll edit!]

B-03
...Hi.
no subject
[Rukia returns the greeting politely.]
Kuchiki Rukia. I was informed that I was to live at this particular address?
[It occurs to her that she had no way of knowing whether or not she was even expected. She has no letter of introduction, and there's no nameplate on the door to indicate who was meant to reside within. Hopefully that wouldn't be a problem, then.]
no subject
Okay.
[Not entirely unexpected, but also a bit of a surprise. It's the right time of the month, Chiaki wasn't sure where the next batch of Heroes would be appearing.]
I'm Chiaki Nanami.
no subject
I am pleased to meet you. Currently I have no belongings. I only just arrived this morning.
[So she'd like to know what to do about that.]
no subject
[She steps aside to allow Rukia in.]
The other people who live here are named Jack and Valvalis. You'll meet them soon, probably.
no subject
[Just as soon as she found out where her stipend was located, and where the nearest market happened to be. Once she was inside, she took note of the kitchen. Good. Perhaps she could do a little cooking some nights. Removing her shoes, she sets them aside.]
Thank you. May I trouble you for a brief tour? I should like to know the established guidelines as well.
no subject
[Chiaki smiles softly as Rukia steps inside, seeming appreciative of her observation of the 'shoes off at the door' custom. She remembers how she had to argue with Yuffie about that the first time she came over.]
The living room is out here, and you've already seen the kitchen. The basement stairs are over there, and those ones go upstairs. There's three bedrooms. Val and I have the singles. Which I guess means you get to stay with Jack in the double.
no subject
[Rukia had heard about those and wanted to try them. Beyond that, she had no real reaction to being told she would share her room. Either she was unaware that Jack was a man's name, or she just didn't care about things like that.]
no subject
[She hasn't been in Jack's room a lot, but she doesn't remember anything like that.]
no subject
[She hasn't seen the room yet, so she doesn't know if the quarters are cramped or open. But it seems like the economical
really funchoice.]Do you often take meals together?
no subject
no subject
[Perhaps she should take steps to remedy that.]
What of chores, and cleaning?
no subject
no subject
Is anyone else expected to live here, or am I the last?
no subject
It's a four person house, so you're the last one unless one of us goes into crystal stasis.
no subject
[Forgive her, she's still new. As for the rest, she's already planning on ways to make the absolute most out of her living situation. It's been a long time since she's had so many housemates.]
no subject
[How to put this.]
...condition, that some of us fall into, where our bodies are encased in crystal and we cease all bodily function. More like a coma than death, and it's possible to wake up from it, but I don't think anyone really understands why it happens.
no subject
[She probably doesn't get it, but she thinks she does.]
Perhaps organic vessels are prepared for us, and our consciousness is transferred into such vessels. I cannot otherwise understand why I was not brought here as a shinigami.
no subject
[Given her own situation. But she's leaving that unspoken for the moment.]
no subject
Then my next question: where might I purchase a set of pajamas?
[It's been a long day, and she's tired. Having something to sleep in sounds wonderful, and if she can find something to eat before going to bed, she'll rest well.]
no subject
[They might be a little loose on her, though. Particularly in the chest.]
no subject
If you wouldn't mind. Thank you.
[She isn't sure the stores would even be open. If her other roommates are as kind as Chiaki, she has a feeling she might manage to make some new friends. That wasn't always easy for her.]
Is there anything I may do for you in return?
no subject
[Lots of games to play and all.]
no subject
Then, if the bath is free, I'll draw one up.
[She can worry about food tomorrow. Her needs aren't so pressing right at the moment.]
Thank you. I'm looking forward to sharing this house with you and the others.
no subject
'Kay. It's upstairs, just down the hall. I'll go up first and lay out the pajamas for you so you can get changed when you're done.
[She smiles, nodding.]
Yup. Me too.
