THE ROOM(MATE)
WHO: Rukia Kuchiki, OPEN (especially to people in B-03)
WHAT: Rukia explores the city to learn how to navigate this new placeand to find the best trees to climb what no, as well as get a look at the house where she was assigned to live.
WHEN: Backdated to September 5th - Early Evening
WHERE: Aqures Ixren, then B-03
WARNINGS: None. Rukia is short.
[Moving Around the City]
Chappopo the Moogle was lucky. The hero she'd been assigned to was a couple of inches under five feet tall. As such, there was no need to worry about keeping up with a long-legged stride. Rukia's pace was brisk and confident, but her stride was short. She showed her curiosity without reservation, moving past the populace and pausing occasionally to examine a vendor's cart or a shop window. Doing so allowed her to catch a glimpse of her reflection. The ninja's hood and mask were slipped down long ago, and she was relieved to find that her appearance was largely unchanged. She still looked as she had when she was a Soul Reaper.
"I should like to know the places of importance," Rukia said, pulling herself away from a clothing shop. Wearing robes of black so openly amongst other humans was a little strange, but at least she wasn't alone. She saw at least one or two others wearing the same ninja garments as she did.
"Kupo? Should we visit the airship port?"
Rukia smiled. Airships... She could imagine what those would be like. She inclined her head. "I would like that, thank you."
Maybe they could get something to eat, as well. Surely they would have given her some of these 'gils' they'd mentioned, to see to her basic needs.
[Finding B-03]
It was dark by the time Rukia had got her fill of the city. There was still much more to see (particularly the Chocobo Stables, which were closed much to her disappointment), but she was tired and more than ready to rest. Following Chappopo's directions, Rukia approached the house to which she was assigned. It seemed like a comfortable place, at least from the outside. As to what the interior held, she couldn't guess. Rukia rapped politely on the front door with her knuckles.
"There will be others living here as well?"
"Three, I believe," Chappopo answered.
Rukia nodded slowly, thoughtful. Interesting. It would be good in any case to meet others who were better versed in the world and the duties of being a Hero of Light. She stood patiently on the front step, arms resting loosely at her sides.
"I'll leave you to it, then. Good night, Rukia-po!"
She smiled warmly. "Good night to you as well. Thank you for your guidance this day."
[OOC: Still new, feel free to let me know if I made a mistake, and I'll edit!]

In the city!
Her moogle, Marc, walked after. He was ever patient. He also had a trio of books in his arms, to match the bag full of them that Robin was carrying. She promised to return them to the library.
She paused as she saw Rukia, then raised a hand. Someone new? Perhaps. She waved her hand as she saw her. "Ah, hello!" the tactician called out. She smiled, a moment after she did. "Are you new?" A beat. "As in new-new?"
no subject
"I am," Rukia replied, as Chappopo waddled delicately to stand beside her. The cheerful moogle waved at Marc, before scurrying forward to help with the load of books. "I arrived just this morning, as a matter of fact."
The people in this town were welcoming and friendly. That was unexpected. She never thought she'd be made to feel at home quite this fast. "Kuchiki Rukia," she introduced herself, putting a hand against her chest.
no subject
"I'm Robin," she said. "Ah, no surname, at least not that I remember."
She could ask Morgan, but that might get awkward in short order. The woman tilted her head to the side. "I arrived about four months ago. How've you found it so far?"
no subject
Those were an awful lot of books. Rukia regarded them, rubbing her chin thoughtfully. Were they for research, or pleasure? She was about to ask, before Robin made her polite inquiry.
"It's a fascinating society," she said, folding her arms. "There is much I have yet to understand, but the experience is pleasant, I suppose. I do have a few reservations nonetheless."
Again her gaze strayed to the books. "Do you need some assistance with those?"

B-03
...Hi.
no subject
[Rukia returns the greeting politely.]
Kuchiki Rukia. I was informed that I was to live at this particular address?
[It occurs to her that she had no way of knowing whether or not she was even expected. She has no letter of introduction, and there's no nameplate on the door to indicate who was meant to reside within. Hopefully that wouldn't be a problem, then.]
no subject
Okay.
[Not entirely unexpected, but also a bit of a surprise. It's the right time of the month, Chiaki wasn't sure where the next batch of Heroes would be appearing.]
I'm Chiaki Nanami.
no subject
I am pleased to meet you. Currently I have no belongings. I only just arrived this morning.
[So she'd like to know what to do about that.]

City - Post Mognet
While he was making his way when he heard about the airships. A subject he had pursued the first day he was here.
"They're not all that interestin'." He noted. "I'd be happy ta show ya somethin' more worth wild." And that was a perverted joke.
no subject
That was before he followed up his claim with an innuendo. "Oh?"
Suddenly he had Rukia's full interest. She turned fully toward him with a smile. "Certainly! What is it?"
Was it a chocobo? It was probably a chocobo. She'd been looking forward to seeing one of those.
no subject
"On second thought...maybe yer too young. I wouldn't want ta ruin yer youth." If he only knew.
no subject
nonexistenthips, looking more than a little proud of herself. "Despite my appearance, I have lived several more lifetimes than that of a human like yourself."Which begged the question, how old was this human body of hers supposed to be? It probably didn't matter, unless there was something important and age-restrictive.
And apparently there was something very important that he meant to deny her, because of her mistaken youth? Unacceptable. She wanted to see what was better than airships.

city!
Still, he had a lot to think about now, and his mood seemed to fluctuate every few minutes between neutral and his default cheerful. Mograe helped, sticking close to his shoulder and keeping the conversation light, but that only did so much when Ven's thoughts were still racing through memories both new and old. At one point he stopped to stare into the window of a cafe -- the owner must have finally gotten the repairs finished, because it was up and running with customers bustling in and out. That made him smile; people were recovering, and for that he had to be grateful.
After a couple seconds, he realized someone else nearby had also stopped to look in the window. A woman he didn't recognize -- with a moogle, and in recognizable Job clothes. Pensive mood or no, Ven spoke up out of impulsive habit.
"Hi. Did you just arrive, too?"
no subject
His hairstyle was awfully similar to a certain substitute soul reaper."Indeed," she confirmed with a smile, turning to face him. How pleased she was to see that everyone in this city was so warm and welcoming. If everybody was this approachable, she had little doubt that she would adapt in no time."I am Kuchiki Rukia." Her gaze slipped to the Moogle close behind him. "And yourself? You have just awoken as well, I presume?"
no subject
Excuse her, Ven's hair is much coolerAt the equally polite greeting, Ven's smile quickly grew to its usual enthusiastic size. He couldn't blame those who arrived in less welcoming spirits, but it was always nice to see others taking well to the situation."Nice to meet you! I'm Ventus -- just Ven for short." Shaking his head, he added, "No, I've been here a few months, actually. But you're not the first newcomer I've met today. You look like you're taking it pretty well, though."
no subject
"It's unusual, but not entirely unpleasant," she remarked, resting a hand comfortably near the hilt of her katana. "Certainly few of us would take offense to being called as a Hero to save the world."
She did wonder how this affected her own world, however, if it did at all.
"Perhaps you could tell me more of this place? Is there a particular area of knowledge of which I ought to be aware?"

The owner of the hair was sitting on a couch, and hearing the door open she perks up... it certainly wasn't either of the other house mates, so who would walk in so casually? Her sister?
No... she'd have knocked first, heavily at that.
"Hello?"
no subject
"Hello," she called back. "Kuchiki Rukia. I was admitted here as a resident." A polite, albeit brief, introduction. As she'd already met Chiaki, that made this person either Valvalis or Jack. "I hope I am not disturbing you."
no subject
"Oh, well hello~" she chimes, standing up and offering her hand out, long long sharp nails extending to take Rukia's hand, much in the way Allenby had done so earlier.
"I'm Valvalis. Nice to meet you Kuchuki~ Have you met Chiaki and Jack yet?" she smiles, looking the girl over, and not grasping the way Japanese names are backwards.

"Now that that's complete, the next thing we need to do is pick up a bundle of gyshal greens, kupo. Try not to let Zack eat any on the ride back this time, kupo."
"I know Mako, I know." Cloud rolled his eyes at his moogle as he hefted the sack of feed over the back of a black feathered bird hitched in front of the shop. Cloud leaned back and looked at the feather tone, "Mmmm, I may need to redye him again soon..."
no subject
She had to get closer. Never one to be shy, Rukia drifted forward, drinking in as much of the sight as she could.
"What is this?" she asked, her usual stiff formality forgotten for the moment in lieu of her intense curiosity. "Can I touch it?"
no subject
"This is a chocobo. They're birds we use to ride around on and carry stuff. Are you from one of those worlds that has those 'horse' things?"
Zack trilled happily at the attention he was getting and leaned over to try to nibble on Cloud's highest hair spike. He was deftly nudged away.

Apologies for hitting this up so late
"...we've got demons and elves, why not alien Heroes of Light, too?"
"But you didn't have to help it escape, kupo!"
"Him. And sure I did. Maybe the place he comes from doesn't have currency, maybe it's not illegal in his world. How would you feel if you got taken to a place where it's illegal to, I dunno, fly?"
A deep sigh. "You just need to think more before you act. That was as stupid as the stunt you pulled back in the past."
"Annnd this conversation's over."
"Kupo!"
Jack opens the door, instead of being dressed in any of the job outfits, he's wearing what, to him, is standard clothing, the long Royal Air Force coat with Captain's stripes visible. The irritated look on his face turns to surprise when he spots a new person. "Uh- hello?"
Perfectly All Right!
...But in her other hand was a pulpy red fruit being diced on the cutting board, so there was really nothing to worry about. She raised her hand swiftly, a light 'swup' of her loose black sleeves accompanying the motion.
"Greetings."
She put her hand down, then set the knife aside. Fruit wasn't much of a dinner, but it would keep her satisfied until the morrow when she could shop for a few groceries.
"Kuchiki Rukia. You must be my roommate."
no subject
Hmm, roommate. "I suppose. Only bed left's the one in the room I've been in." Jack very carefully eyes Rukia's apparent age. It's an issue that hasn't come up so far, with Jack sharing a house with, now, three young women. "I could probably move my bed into the study without any difficulty, though," let's at least throw out the possibility. Jack has a tendency to live pretty simply, anyway, doesn't have much in the way of personal effects to move.
