Sewer Quest
Characters: The Heroes of Light who signed up for this player plot
Where: Sewer system underneath Aqures Ixen
When: The morning of October 15th to evening.
Summary: The Barkeep is concerned what may lurk in the sewers. He and the other Heroes of Light will investigate and travel as deep as possible in search of monsters and hidden rooms.
OOC notes: This event is being modded by me, but for the most part, dungeon puzzles and random monster encounters are run by players. OOC discussion can be found here and monster information here.
The only entrance large enough for a human to fit through lies in the 11th District. A trickle of sewage flows out of the gateway, and when one enters, there is a brick walkway on either side of the tunnel. From time to time, a bridge connects both sides of the tunnel, allowing someone to cross the stream without fear of stepping into garbage. The walls are lined with dim lights, and raw sewage bursts in from pipes in the walls every five minutes.

[Rukia smirks, and holds up her hand to cast Cure. It would be nice if she had something stronger, but she's still got another month of experience to go before that can happen. Even if the spell doesn't work quite as well as it should, it still has some effect, and they can afford to be patient.]
[Once the wound has closed, she turns to Allenby, although what the girl says gives her cause to be puzzled.]
What masked jerk do you speak of?
[Have some Cure spells, Allenby.]

As Allenby's knuckles are healed, she squeezes her hand as the blood clears and the wounds close up.

Catching a flicker beside him, D snatched the rat from the ground and brought it to his lips. There was a squeak as the vampire bit and sucked the blood of the creature. As if on cue, the skin of his shoulder knit itself together. Once the skin appeared smooth and new, D set the unconscious rat down.
He didn't kill the creature this time. Didn't need to and he knew that in this world, it wouldn't transform into a vampire. D made sure of that, watching one victim once. It got up and walked away as if nothing happened and retained no memory of his attack.
Straightening, D glanced at both Rukia and Allenby.]
Shall we continue?

[She understands the necessity of it. She does. But it's still unpleasant to watch. At least he's healed now. As they move along, Rukia drops back a pace so she can keep talking to Allenby. What the girl said is more than frustrating to hear.]
I would think our job selections are somewhat personal. Who was this person, and why were they so insistent that you change? You handle yourself very well in a fight.

His eyes swept through the tunnel from side to side, readying himself if another ghost decided to attack.]

"Or they really really were just campaigning for everyone to be a Ghostbuster. Like they knew something else about it. But... I think we might've been in more trouble if I had been." she nods.
Seeing D have to consume, at least to a degree, the rat made her shudder, for her, it was a first. She had a mild flashback to the Devil Gundam, but... it wasn't a total correlation.
"So, where to now? You've got the little ghost hunter thingy..."

Rukia paused at the intersection, uncapping a marker and drawing an arrow to indicate which way they were turning, then continued onward. The PKE meter was quiet, so if they were to encounter anything further, it wouldn't be a ghost.

She didn't exactly feel up to jumping on one and engaging in a little sewer surfing. That would be too gross.

ALlenby takes a deep breath.
"Well... no harm in giving it a try." she shrugs. Taking a deep breath, and making full abuse of Bullet Time to react to and navigate the floating boards like some weird real-life variant on Frogger.

When she reaches the other end, she'll find more passages, all leading somewhere away from where she entered.

Taking a moment to mark the walls again, Rukia eyed the passages with mild interest. "Shall we start with the one on the far right?" she suggested.
no subject
The right is fine.

"So... was it just me or was it odd that there's two different currents flowing here?" she asks, taking one last look at the video-game antics going on.

It couldn't hurt to test it out. She crouched down and marked one swiftly with her sharpie. If it floated past them again, she'd have her answer.

[D watched the marked board as it floated past. He followed otherwise in silence taking in every detail and keeping his aura up so he could hopefully feel if an enemy followed them.]
no subject
If it ever appeared again, it would be easy to spot.

"At least the halls aren't packed with..." She waits, thinking wisely about her words and waht could be potentially setting up for failure... "Soft fluffy adorable harmless creatures." or mechanical zombies...

Maybe the smell was just making her irritable. They'd been walking down here for a long time, and she wasn't even sure what hour it was anymore.
Glancing at D, she nodded. "It could be. If so, it must be far off. I don't hear any machinery just yet."
