Into the Chaos of Vampires and Ghosts || OPEN
WHO: D, OPEN
WHAT: After return from Esdham, D has been trying out the Ghostbuster Job in connection with the Vampire Job.
WHEN: October 11th - 30th (save for the event days. He'll be unavailable.)
WHERE: Aqures Ixen; neighboring areas
NOTES: D will be hunting and collecting ghosts pretty much nonstop and using this as a good training session for his other Job. The Vampire seems tireless, but the late he is encountered, the closer to his bloodlust he is. The more monstrous he appears. Well build CR with him (OOC: I'm steadily working on a CR post)
WARNING: Violence. Possibly gore.
Scenario One: Early on as he wanders the streets
[The streets were filled with long cast shadows from the behemoth monoliths erected in Aqures Ixen. Without his Dragoon Job, D had to be more careful about his jumping and springing. He found he could still do some because of his previous training in his own world, an asked skill hard to forget, but his body felt heavier. And protested just a bit more.
Still, D straddled two roofs while waiting for his quarry to enter into his trap. When he activated this job, he forsook the ridiculous jumpsuit for his regular tight fitting clothing, cloak and hat. His sword balanced between his shoulderblades in wait.
The night fueled through his veins, his eyes catching every slight movement: a stay cat rooted in a nearby dumpster hoping for scraps from the restaurant; some couple clung to each other after a dinner date, the pungent smell of lust permeated around them like a cloud; and... Yes the ghost was stalking them. Perfect.
The ghost's hopeful meal would be interrupted.
Utilizing his balancing skills, D slid asking the tiles of the roof to its end where he jumped down to the ground of an alleyway with an opening right next to the couple. The combination of his Vampire Job and Ghostbuster Job served him well to keep deathly silent and cast neither shadow nor reflection.
His PKE machine hummed and he grabbed the thruster. His fingers glided along and a shudder released from inside him feeling the essence of the already captured spirits crying out. For a moment, he almost felt sorry for them. Almost.
D waited for the couple to pass him by. They didn't detect him but the scents enveloped him. He stopped dead in his tracks, his nostrils flared and he growled, his fangs descending. That caught the couple's attention. His want for their thick blood tormented him but he managed to speak in a gutteral tone.]
Run. Get out of here. [Before I eat you both. He thought to himself.
Thankfully, they wasted no time and with their retreat he came face to face with the ghost. It howled at D knowing that its conquest had been interrupted. D flashed his fangs at the creature and turned on the thruster. The more powerless spirit couldn't resist the PKE and when it sucked up, he glanced down at the meter.]
Burn in the abyss of oblivion with your friends.
[Turn he turns to find his next quarry, wherever the meter takes him.]
Scenario Two: Somewhere in the middle, hunting in the forested areas
[D has been collecting many spirits and fending of his growing hunger. Not wanting to feast on the humans he's trying to protect, he takes to the forest.
Upon encountering him, people that know him sense the imbalance growing in his usually cool state of being. Not only is he not catching the ghosts automatically, he's playing with them like a cat might a mouse. Yet, he's still in enough control to capture them in the end. He still has more control over himself.
To those who don't know him might notice how dangerous yet effective this particular Hero of Light is. He seems to be enjoying this game of cat and mouse. And he still is willing to help.]
Scenario Three: Back in Aqures Ixen towards the end of the month
[D is more vampiric than human in appearance. Still in a semblance of his own control, he's moving against ghosts and nipping at animals in the alleyways. He's more annoyed and his aura is dark. Tired? Healthy? These questions cannot be really answered. Something about these ghosts might be doing something to his psyche. Or maybe they remind him of things...]

Scenario One ~ October 14 ~ Closed to Rukia and Yuffie
It spiked and he knew a ghost was in the area. The area around him grew colder and thick with an aura not entirely his own.
Grabbing out the trap, he took measured steps toward the spectre. It wouldn't take long, it never did. A flicker passed through his vision trailing his body with it. Then it stopped before him and grew.
Into Her...
Wearing that white dress, long and flowing into the darkness and that silky black hair just like his in length and wave. Those eyes that bore through to his soul with a profound sorrow so much it brought D instantly to his knees. His body visibly shook.
Camilla one tried to use a trick similar to this but D knew right away that it was wrong. But this spectre...]
D... [Her voice echoed through the darkness and cut him to the quick.] I loved your father...
Shut up... [D's voice wavered and he took to shaky legs. He brought up the trap to attempt to capture but his hands also shook.
The spectre, seeing her opportunity, moved toward him. Her arms outstretched.]
D... Why do you hate him so much? Why do you hate yourself?
SILENCE! [D never raised his voice before since coming to Crystallis. He took a step back, wanting to defend himself, to kill the ghost but his body didn't want to listen.
It was then that he realized... He was in deep shit. His eyes turned crimson.]
no subject
[If not for that false identity, she would do more than just give it a warning zap. It's meant to stop the shifter's advance toward D, as well as shock the dhampir back to reality. Or so she hopes.]
Get back.
[She barks the order to the ghost rather than D, cautiously edging closer to his position. This battle is his, and one she shouldn't interfere with. But he should know he has an ally close at hand if he needs her. All he has to do is say the word, and she'll be right there fighting beside him.]
no subject
The agile ninja almost runs into Rukia but stops at the sight in front of her. She doesn't need to know what's going on to understand the situation. She ducks from behind Rukia, barely holding herself back from jumping in. He isn't fighting back, he isn't doing anything and as annoying as some of the heroes might be Yuffie doesn't want to see them hurt.
The grip on her pack tightens and she feels her muscles begin to shake.]
We can't just do nothing...
[She whispers, only Rukia able to hear the conflicting emotions that Yuffie felt.]
no subject
And D wasn't about to let it eat his friends. He let out a scream in frustration and yanked the sword from his back, charging the Shifter. His aura lashed out simultaneously.
Bloodlust. Anger deeper than the word, D slashed his sword out. The Shifter wearing his mother's face caught it with incredible ease. Though it was a ghost, it could become solid.]
You will die and burn in hell. [D's voice echoed in an eerie low tone that didn't sound exactly like him.
Without hesitation, he reached over and bit hard on his arm, breaking the skin. Blood poured from his wound until his electrified aura caught the stands of crimson and snaked them into tendrils.
He charged at the ghost again, and swung his solidified blood at it. Crimson clamped around the Shifter and it cried out. The ectoplasm hissed, beginning to evaporate.
Delaying not a fraction of a second, D flipped the power onto his particle thrower. The machine hummed to life, sucking his mother's melting face inside with one final scream.
He dropped to his knees again, not carrying that he was covered in blood and ooze. His fangs dug into his lips and his breathing was heavy. Damn, bitch.
The last thing he wanted... And his body was trembling once again. More outraged at himself than knowing he had witnesses.]
Rukia... Yuffie... [His voice was a dangerous whisper and his statement a stillbirth. D couldn't put to words what he wanted to address.]
no subject
[She could hear the unease in Yuffie's voice, and understood it all too well. It was just like that night so many years ago.]
This creature has stolen into his mind, and donned the visage of a person he cares for deeply. It has trespassed in an unforgivable way.
[Her grip tightens on the particle thrower as she stands her ground, watching D unleash a ferocity she's never seen before. This is what lies behind that calm, composed visage of his -- anger, and sorrow, and hatred. He's worked hard to control it, and this thing managed to sever the tight cords of his heart. Rukia's frown deepens.]
This is a battle for honor. He is the only one who can fight it. Until he calls for us, we absolutely must not interfere.
[He's more than capable of fighting the Shifter. She might almost feel pity for it, because it never stood a chance. Staying out of the fight seems like it's not only for D's sake, but their own safety as well.]
[Only when he calls their names does Rukia straighten, relaxing from her combat position. She holsters the particle thrower behind her back and steps forward with a nod at Yuffie. They can approach him now. She's never seen him break down like this before, and it hurts to see him now.]
It's all right. We're here.
[She approaches to his right and just behind, laying a gloved hand on his shoulder and squeezing to show her support.]
You fought well.
no subject
D didn't seem to notice the broken and bleeding skin of his right forearm. Yet his crimson eyes trained on Rukia.]
If it was truly fought well, I would not have lost control... Still not completely regained.
no subject
Instead of saying anything Yuffie digs into her bag, luckily Mooshoo doesn't let her leave the house without a first aid kit, which Yuffie has used for herself on many occasions. She hands a potion to D not giving him the time to argue with her or drop it, because that's a waste of something she spend actual not stolen money on.
She then steps around the pair and starts to bandage up the wound so that it at least stops bleeding.]
You got this D, just relax.
[Her tone is light, attempting to ease the situation some. Her fingers work quickly, wrapping the bandaged with an expert hand. She's done this often though usually on herself.]
no subject
[She looks at him as he fixes his scarlet eyes on her face.]
You defeated a spirit set on taking your life. Had you not stood against it, it surely would have taken the lives of others.
[Her gaze shifts to the trap, and her expression tightens in disapproval against the horrible spirit.]
Anyone would have reacted that way. It's understandable. It's normal.
[Rukia looks to Yuffie with a nod. Good girl. ...She should probably drop a Cure spell or two as well, as long as she's at it.]
no subject
His eyes rolled to the spot where his mother over stood and good uninjured hand traced the trap where the Shifter now resided. Honestly, he wanted nothing more than to rid of completely from this world but it could prove useful in the future.
His fangs slowly dislodge from his lips, leaving puncture wounds that were healing almost immediately.]
Thank you...

Sceneario 2~
Of course, she wasn't expecting to almost run into someone on her way flying down and chasing after something in her Magiteck Job Class. Selen swerved to the right to avoid getting hit with the man hat was playing cat and mouse with his own enemies.
However, he looked rather brooding and a giant compared to her extremely petite form standing roughly at 5 feet. Selen was rather amused and intrigued by him more than worried about disturbing of a character he seemed to be. Selen wasn't exactly the sanest of people either.
She seemed rather level headed regardless. ]
Re: Sceneario 2~
Annoyance ticked along his brow. He had the ghost cornered but this distraction have it the opportunity to flee. One that he wouldn't allow. Turning suddenly, D unleashed his trap and the ghost have a dreadful scream as it was sucked up.]
I was wondering when you would show your presence.
no subject
Of course, his full height was way more than she expected. He towered over her immensely and getting caught in a fight with him would be extremely futile. She only chuckled at the opportunity he had to suck the thing in. She clapped her hands together, a bright smile bordering the corner of her lips. ]
My such a strong and dangerous fellow you are.
no subject
Still, it only took one minute for him to regain the fraying threads of his sanity.]
Flattery is hardly necessary. I am called D.
no subject
Ah, but it wasn't a form of flattery. You are a very powerful man, or individual. You seem rather otherworldly to me as well.
[ She chimed. Selen has seen her share of strangeness in the world and even here, she never found anything too surprising to the eye, even if it was a giant man twice her height probably. ]
no subject
I do not come from your world. I was a dhampir... Half vampire in my world. Here I'm a Hero of Light.
no subject
Of course. You sir seem like you came from another world, regardless.
[ She replied with a smile. ]
A half vampire huh? How interesting! I've never met anyone that was a half vampire.
[ There's a pause on that comment about being a Hero of Light. ]
Do you believe yourself to be just that?
no subject
[People certainly asked a lot of questions around him. Still, he was used to deflection even if they didn't approve of the answers given.]

Scenario Three
[Umiko has been staying in the city and trying to stay safe while ghosts over run her new home. She isn't able to change jobs like those of the heroes and so she's at a disadvantage. Her staff goes right though them and it's mostly just frustrating at this point.
She spots D and walks over, currently on the way back to her small apartment.]
Hey.
[She stops about a yard away looking at the familiar figure of a man she claims as a friend.]
Re: Scenario Three
When he saw Umiko, his eyes burned the colour of blood asked his fangs slavered tinged red. Dark, painful aura lashed out from him and he growled as an animal to her.
She smelled so good, full of rich vibrant blood. Blood he wanted. NEEDED.
Nooo... Must gain control... U-u]
Umiko... Run... Can't control...
Scenario Three
D?
[Her voice is shaking slightly but she isn't about to leave her friend here.]
Come on, if you're sick you should lie down. My place is close.
Re: Scenario Three
Umiko... I don't... Want to hurt you... Blood...
Scenario Three
You aren't going to hurt me.
[She pauses, her mind quickly looking throw options. The hospital? Can they make it? Can he be around people right now? Or is it better staying here?
Umiko tries to think of something but the only way that she can help will most likely be painful.]
Re: Scenario Three
Umiko... Umiko...
[He hung his head trying to regain control.]
Scenario Three
What is it?
[She can see that he's struggling but he hasn't been able to tell her much more. She's trying to piece it together but she doesn't know enough about the jobs that the heroes have access too.]
Re: Scenario Three
D's body shuddered and, just as quickly, he slumped to the ground. He pulled his cloak around him tight and shook his head.]
I will not bite you...
