Into the Chaos of Vampires and Ghosts || OPEN
WHO: D, OPEN
WHAT: After return from Esdham, D has been trying out the Ghostbuster Job in connection with the Vampire Job.
WHEN: October 11th - 30th (save for the event days. He'll be unavailable.)
WHERE: Aqures Ixen; neighboring areas
NOTES: D will be hunting and collecting ghosts pretty much nonstop and using this as a good training session for his other Job. The Vampire seems tireless, but the late he is encountered, the closer to his bloodlust he is. The more monstrous he appears. Well build CR with him (OOC: I'm steadily working on a CR post)
WARNING: Violence. Possibly gore.
Scenario One: Early on as he wanders the streets
[The streets were filled with long cast shadows from the behemoth monoliths erected in Aqures Ixen. Without his Dragoon Job, D had to be more careful about his jumping and springing. He found he could still do some because of his previous training in his own world, an asked skill hard to forget, but his body felt heavier. And protested just a bit more.
Still, D straddled two roofs while waiting for his quarry to enter into his trap. When he activated this job, he forsook the ridiculous jumpsuit for his regular tight fitting clothing, cloak and hat. His sword balanced between his shoulderblades in wait.
The night fueled through his veins, his eyes catching every slight movement: a stay cat rooted in a nearby dumpster hoping for scraps from the restaurant; some couple clung to each other after a dinner date, the pungent smell of lust permeated around them like a cloud; and... Yes the ghost was stalking them. Perfect.
The ghost's hopeful meal would be interrupted.
Utilizing his balancing skills, D slid asking the tiles of the roof to its end where he jumped down to the ground of an alleyway with an opening right next to the couple. The combination of his Vampire Job and Ghostbuster Job served him well to keep deathly silent and cast neither shadow nor reflection.
His PKE machine hummed and he grabbed the thruster. His fingers glided along and a shudder released from inside him feeling the essence of the already captured spirits crying out. For a moment, he almost felt sorry for them. Almost.
D waited for the couple to pass him by. They didn't detect him but the scents enveloped him. He stopped dead in his tracks, his nostrils flared and he growled, his fangs descending. That caught the couple's attention. His want for their thick blood tormented him but he managed to speak in a gutteral tone.]
Run. Get out of here. [Before I eat you both. He thought to himself.
Thankfully, they wasted no time and with their retreat he came face to face with the ghost. It howled at D knowing that its conquest had been interrupted. D flashed his fangs at the creature and turned on the thruster. The more powerless spirit couldn't resist the PKE and when it sucked up, he glanced down at the meter.]
Burn in the abyss of oblivion with your friends.
[Turn he turns to find his next quarry, wherever the meter takes him.]
Scenario Two: Somewhere in the middle, hunting in the forested areas
[D has been collecting many spirits and fending of his growing hunger. Not wanting to feast on the humans he's trying to protect, he takes to the forest.
Upon encountering him, people that know him sense the imbalance growing in his usually cool state of being. Not only is he not catching the ghosts automatically, he's playing with them like a cat might a mouse. Yet, he's still in enough control to capture them in the end. He still has more control over himself.
To those who don't know him might notice how dangerous yet effective this particular Hero of Light is. He seems to be enjoying this game of cat and mouse. And he still is willing to help.]
Scenario Three: Back in Aqures Ixen towards the end of the month
[D is more vampiric than human in appearance. Still in a semblance of his own control, he's moving against ghosts and nipping at animals in the alleyways. He's more annoyed and his aura is dark. Tired? Healthy? These questions cannot be really answered. Something about these ghosts might be doing something to his psyche. Or maybe they remind him of things...]

Re: Scenario Three
[His body and mind screamed, the beast was barely contained. He didn't want to hurt Umiko. She was his friend. He needed control.]
Scenario Three
Hey, it's just a little and I offered. You are better than that... think of it as a present.
[At least until she can go get him something else but seeing him in this state is bad and she'd rather he not feel this sort of pain. It's really only a small price to help.]
I told you I'm here to help right? So let me.
Re: Scenario Three
It is because you're my friend. I will not lose my control. Thank you for your kindness but I will not harm you.
[Then D took off into the darkness of the alleyways hoping Umiko would not follow.]
Re: Scenario Three
Running is not helpful!
[Also because it’s very difficult for Umiko to keep up to D’s speed.]
Re: Scenario Three
Scenario Three
[Her footsteps are very loud compared to his though she manages to keep up with the elusive shadow.]
At least run towards the hospital.
Re: Scenario Three
He felt the air around him shift and brought his sword up in time to cut the plastic trash can in twain as it flew toward him. A ghost stood before him, its aura as frigid as his own.
Turning to face it, D tightened the fro on his sword. This should distract him from drinking Umiko dry.]
Scenario Three
That's a ghost.
[Her eyes widen slightly as if at a loose. She flicks her staff to her palms, the pieces of wood clicking into place to create the stick she usually used to fight.]
Re: Scenario Three
[Was all D said as he pulled out his thrower toward it. The ghost screamed and snapped as it fought the suction. But D started firm until the creature lashed out with somet type of cold spell.
Picking Umiko up, D dodged the spell, watching as the dumpster behind him form icicles.]
This should be interesting...
Re: Scenario Three
Interesting is a way to put it.
[She carefully pulls away from D, her eyes looking around him at the strange ghost.]
How can it do magic?
Re: Scenario Three
[D's fangs were prominent moreso now and his savagery suggested he might engage the ghost at any time. It was Umiko who prevented him from flinging himself into the creature.
A lantern flashed in the creature's hand and, instinct caused D to grab Umiko before a bit of ice flew through the air, impaling where they were originally standing. Setting Umiko back on her feet, D straightened.]
It has no intention of letting us leave.
Scenario Three
She might not be able to fight but she can at least get out of his way.]
Don’t worry about me. You take care of that thing.
[She’s not completely helpless.]
Re: Scenario Three
The air shifted last minute and D skirted to the side as spikes of ice erupted from the dirt where he stood.]
Stay back, Umiko.
Scenario Three
As she steps back she lightly bumps a trash can singling the end of her ability to stop backwards.]
Let's head towards the alley opening?
[Maybe they can escape?]
Re: Scenario Three
[D dodged the Poe's next attack and skidded deeper into the alley. Opposite of what Umiko stood. Thankfully, the Poe stayed its attention on trapping D into the alleyway. Which was how the vampire liked it.
Sliding the trap underneath the Poe, D blasted the Proton light from his hands. The Poe screamed and twisted to avoid it but D kept the beam trained on it.
D pressed on it, dodging its attacks thanks to our being night and his defensive and attacks increased. Though the Poe struggled, the trap snapped as it slipped inside.
Sighing, D leaned against one of the brick walls.]
Scenario Three
D?
[She walks up to him now that the danger is gone.]
Let me at least take you home.
Re: Scenario Three
I will make sure you get home. I am fine.
Re: Scenario Three
No, I offered first and it's rude to decline.
[She holds out her hand to him with a smile.]
Got it?
Re: Scenario Three
Very well...
Scenario Three
So what were you doing out here?
Re: Scenario Three
[A simple answer but none truer existed.]
Scenario Three
I hope you found what you were looking for.
[Her tone was displeased but there is little to do about that when she's worried about D. She's also fine walking in silence if he doesn't wish to talk]
Re: Scenario Three
He didn't dislike Umiko. She was a pleasant woman after all and beautiful. He wasn't blind to appearance and mannerisms. Yet he just never let people get too close to him. Usually they ended up as victims to his enemies. It was better that he left before people grew attached.
Here in Crystallis it unnerved him. There weren't too many places he could go and he always ended up back here.
It wasn't fair to people like Umiko.]
It is not your fault.
Scenario Three
[She blinks, looking over at D.]
What's not?
[Umiko isn't really blaming herself but she's curious now.]
Re: Scenario Three
Once at the door, he turned to Umiko.]
I trust you've been staying safe. There are many specters out.
