[Chiaki isn't all that interested in the Ghostbuster Job itself, but what she is interested in is doing sidequests. Especially the kind that get a reward as amazing as a free item from O'aka's shop. So even though she's planning on discarding the Job at the end of the month, she's gone ahead and switched Engineer out for it for the time being. All she has to do is capture one ghost, and then she can claim her reward.]

A. [It looks like Chiaki's found an easy target for her first ghost hunting job. She's stalking a Polterpup through the streets at a distance, sneaking along and doing her best to stay quiet. In fact, she's so focused on her quarry that she isn't paying attention to much else. The energetic little pup dashes around a street corner, and she does her best to follow it, but it's at that time that she slams straight into another Hero of Light - your Hero of Light, in fact - coming around the other way!]

Oof!

[Chiaki goes sprawling to the ground, and the noise of ghostly whining and yapping can be heard fast approaching! Think fast, there's a ghost doggy coming and he wants to play!]

B. [This time, Chiaki's after stronger prey, and she's sent out a message via Mognet a few hours ahead of time for some backup. Anyone coming to meet her in the park, however, will find the gamer girl conspicuously absent. What they will find after some looking, and if they follow the ghostly giggling echoing through the area, is a beautifully crafted porcelain doll sitting placidly beneath a tree. The smile on its face is just a little too wide, eyes shining too brightly to be simply a normal doll. And worst of all, it's holding another, smaller doll in its arms - one that will look very familiar to anyone who knows Chiaki.]

I made a new friend today! Will you play with us? My friend loves games.

[As soon as she realised what was coming, K'pandolu moves to back off a little, to try and lessen the impact- but with this kind of attack, it doesn't seem to matter as much. She grits her teeth against the blow, reaching to unhook the beam and aiming it towards the Doll.]

Let go of her.

NoOoOoOoOo!

[The doll's voice is louder and more severe than ever. The beams are certainly having an effect, but it's not going to go down without a fight. Once again, the puppet strings come out, lashing at all three of them in a desperate attempt to wrest itself free. This is the last effort of a cornered beast.]

[Minako felt a little insulted at the use of the whip like strings. That was not how one used a whip. She knew how to use one better, but knew she had no way of proving that here.]

Hey! Bad use of a whip you know.

[As one hit her, she could feel the string, causing her to stop and pause for a moment before using her proton pack to fight back.]

Eat stream.

[Yuffie shifts her weight to avoid the strings and yet one manages to whip across her cheek leaving a thin line of red. She glared at the doll keeping her gun trained at the flailing monster.

Her eyes wander over the monster looking for the Chiaki shaped doll.]

[The more wild flailings of the strings makes them more difficult to avoid this time, and one manages to just catch K'pandolu's arm. She jerks back with a curse, and begins casting Slow, hoping it'll take.]

[The Slow spell hits home, the ghost becoming too weak to deflect or dodge those sorts of things by this point. Between time magic and triple proton beams, its counterattack has been reduced simply to harmless and easy to avoid flailing. A final scream echoes throughout the area as the ghost is pulled into the trap, the Chiaki doll popping out of its form just before it disappears inside. And within several moments, the doll shifts and grows as it transforms back into the girl, unconscious for the moment but still breathing.]

Chiaki-!

[K'pandolu drops everything else to dart forward to check on Chiaki. She looks all right, but after something like that…]

[It's slow, but she starts waking up.]

Nnnn... that wasn't a very fun game.

[Yuffie sits on the ground with a sign.]

No, it's not.

[She's so tired.]

[Minako sighed herself feeling a little worse for wear. She really wanted a bubble bath right now or something nice.]

But at least now it's over. That's what matters, right?

Right.

[she rises to her feet again, with one eye still on Chiaki, and claps her hands together.]

Good work, everyone. Shall we call it for the night?

[Yuffie nods and then sits on the ground with a tired sigh.]

Yeah. I'm so tired.
