Characters: Flynn Scifo, anyone else.
Where: AQURES IXEN
When: November 6th
Summary: Flynn awakes in the hospital, decrystallized and retaining his memories from his first stint here.
Warning: None so far.
[Had it really been several months since he last remembered? It seemed like only yesterday when he was on the beach in Balicea forced to take a vacation. Wandering about the streets, he wondered if Yuri was all right, or if he somehow came down with the same affliction - at least his body seemed to be okay. But he'd need to get moving around - there was no good time to just sit around and do nothing, and he had several months he had to make up for it. So you may see him wandering about, pondering whether to buy certain foods(don't eat his cooking though) or wandering outside his old home - apparently he had been reassigned, but he was on the lookout for Yuri.]

...I'm not sure.
[Rukia frowns, glancing at the hospital.]
I was just informed that he'd entered crystal stasis. But I'm not sure why it happened.
[That's why it makes her so angry. Had he died? If so, when? How long would it be until he awoke? Or is he going to be there for much longer? She's not sure, and she hates the thought that she might have lost a friend in this place.]
Rukia Kuchiki.
[She extends her hand.]
Who might you be, and how do you know Yuri?
no subject
My apologies, Lady Kuchiki. I am Flynn Scifo - I come from the same world as Yuri. I was looking for him, which is why I was so surprised to hear that he's in crystal stasis.
[He bites his lower lip, as if thinking - what if it was going to keep on being this way, just like in their home world? They could never be side by side for very long. It was difficult to swallow.]
I just awoke from crystal stasis myself.
no subject
I apologize. I hope I didn't speak too bluntly.
[She can see that he's troubled by this news. Well. She supposes she can draw on Yuri's face later, and see that Flynn is settled first.]
You can call me Rukia. Do you know how long you've been asleep?
[Honestly, she's kind of curious herself. It might give her a better idea of how long Yuri might be out.]
The current date is November 5th, if that helps.
no subject
There is no need to apologize for anything, Rukia. From what I've overheard at the hospital, varying degrees of time pass for each individual person. Hopefully if Yuri were to awaken, it wouldn't take as long.
[He looks at the house, and shakes his head. Yuri wouldn't want him to put his life on hold, much like Flynn hoped Yuri fared well enough without him here.]
Thank you for being his friend when I couldn't.
no subject
[Yuri had better not sleep that long, she'll be
worriedfurious! Still... She's surprised that two friends could be such absolute opposites. Flynn seems like the type to completely embrace his role as a Hero of Light. He could easily be the poster child from her initial impression.][She straightens, surprised at his gratitude. Rukia doesn't blush often, but that gives her a bit of pink in the face.]
Ah...no, there's no need to thank me for that.
[She politely clears her throat with a small cough against her fist.]
In any case, he has another member of Brave Vesperia present in this world. Are you familiar with a man named Raven?
no subject
Yes, I'm quite familiar with Sir Raven. I'm glad to hear that he wasn't alone.
[Flynn knew Yuri must have been worried, but also wouldn't do a damn thing to show it on the outside. Now it seems the tables have turned.]
Yuri wouldn't take as long as I would.
[Flynn nods, convinced.]
So until he wakes up again, we've got to make sure he has something to return to.
[smile]
no subject
Agreed.
[Rukia smiles. She can draw on Yuri's face later, since he'll probably be that way for a week at least. For now, she's interested in getting to know this person that Yuri regards so highly. Maybe Flynn is the reason Yuri continually insists that he himself is not a hero. Is he trying to compare himself, perhaps?]
Yuri mentioned you before, but I don't know much about you. How did you two know each other?
[She moves to walk beside him.]
Perhaps you can tell me over lunch. You must be starving if you just woke up.
no subject
That would be nice.
[He begins to follow Rukia, assuming she's leading him to a place with food.]
Yuri and I grew up together, and my parents took him in so we're practically brothers. That's the short version, anyway.
no subject
I wasn't aware he didn't have parents of his own. You two must have been very close.
[She smiles, warmed at the thought of the two of them as children. It was probably ridiculously adorable.]
Were you able to share many adventures in this world, then? I'm sure you must have been a fearsome team indeed!
no subject
[smiles]
We may choose to do completely different things, but in the end we wanted the same thing. It makes me think that perhaps there is the possibility of a future where everyone can get along.
no subject
Rukia looks thoughtful. She respected Yuri's privacy, but she was also concerned for her friend. He definitely had to be battling some kind of inner demon. While she was reluctant to push him too hard for information for fear of causing him emotional harm, it might be all right to ask Flynn.
This thing that happened which drove him from the knights... Is that why he insists so stubbornly that he isn't a hero?
[She won't ask for details unless Flynn is willing to give them, but she hates not being able to do something about this. Either way, she still plans to feed him, so she leads the way until they locate a small and cozy diner. Rukia moves into line, picking up one of the plastic menus and passing it to the blonde knight before choosing one for herself.]
no subject
[It was a roundabout way of answering the question, yes, but there wasn't an easy way to answer it.]
It doesn't matter what label anyone decides to impose upon him. Yuri's actions speak far louder than anything else. He is willing to take upon himself what others cannot or will not.
I hate him for it, but I also respect him for it.
no subject
[She smiles at Flynn, glad he seems to share her opinion about Yuri's heroic tendencies, even if he refuses to accept the label.]
But it bothers me that he seems to think so little of himself. I had hoped you might know the reason, but if he hasn't told you, I can assume he surely would not tell someone he's only known for a short time.
[Once it's her turn, she places her order, then waits for Flynn to do the same so she can pay for it.]
no subject
Rather than trying to make him think more of himself, he just needs the support of those around him.
After all, it's useless to push a cart sideways.
no subject
Sometimes that's the only way the cart can be pushed. He's ridiculously stubborn about the strangest things.
[But she was fond of him, she wouldn't deny that. She wouldn't go through so much trouble to draw a moustache on his face if he wasn't worth the effort.]
Nonetheless, I know far less of you than I do of Yuri. What kind of Jobs did you undertake here? What are your goals as a Hero of Light?
no subject
[he shrugs at the second half of the inquisition.]
As for my goals, I suppose it's to help those in this world as best as I can so we can get home safely.
no subject
I imagine you're quite gifted at swordplay, then. Perhaps we might spar sometime, once you've had a moment to catch your breath and settle in once more.
[When their food arrives, she picks up the tray and carries it to a table by the window.]
Do you know where you'll be staying yet?
no subject
Even though Yuri and I use the same techniques, our execution is fairly different, which brings forth even more different kinds of swordplay techniques.
[grins]
I was thinking of staying here for a while, considering Yuri won't be using his bed. Most likely I'll have to tidy up, however.
no subject
[She's seen Yuri's room before. He seems to keep things fairly clean from what she's seen, but maybe she just caught him on a good day. But it's a practical answer. Yuri's bed likely isn't going to be used.
Unless Yuffie decides to be weird and take over Yuri's bed too.][She perks a little at the mention of techniques, because this is a conversation she can definitely get into.]
His style is flashy, I've noticed. And yet he's quite skilled. Ordinarily I wouldn't approve of anyone letting go of their weapon for an instant, but he seems to possess a surprising degree of control. I think it baffles the enemy, giving him an edge instead of a weakness.
no subject
[he shrugs, laughing it off.]
no subject
I suppose we all have our vanities. I do wonder what he uses to make his hair look that good, though.
[She grins, and nods her thanks to the waiter when their food is delivered.]
Are you enlisted with Esdham's military?
no subject
[
Maybe it's Maybelline~]I don't believe so. If I was, I'm not anymore. I'm still not used to being a Hero of Light.
no subject
[No please stop. Rukia can't be laughing this much, it's really undignified for someone of her rank and duties. But the thought of Yuri lavishing that much care on his hair for the sake of vanity is too hilarious, and her shoulders are shaking as she chuckles repeatedly into her fist.]
[Give her a moment to control herself. She 'whew's and clears her throat, gulping down some water while trying to rein in her wide smile.]
Yes, well. That does take some adjusting.
[One more clear of the throat. Okay, she's got this.]
But it isn't so complicated. We answer to the needs of the people, dig for what information we can, and rise to fight against anything that threatens this world and ours. You are a capable warrior, I'm told. I'm certain you will perform admirably with the rest of us.
no subject
maybe. Yuri would never forgive him either way.]No more capable than Yuri. In fact, it falls on all of us to help each other and build up this land, doesn't it?
I look forward to working with you.
no subject
[She sits back with a satisfied smile, fully agreeing with his ideal. Yuri feels the same way too, she knows, but getting him to say it out loud is like pulling teeth. He'll just snark about how he's not a hero, like the big bag of lameness that he is.]
And I with you. It's good to meet another so dedicated!
[She moves her water aside once their food is brought out to them, and grins at Flynn.]
Once you've settled in, seek me out. I always appreciate a chance to spar, should you feel so inclined.
