Summary: Flynn awakes in the hospital, decrystallized and retaining his memories from his first stint here.

[Had it really been several months since he last remembered? It seemed like only yesterday when he was on the beach in Balicea forced to take a vacation. Wandering about the streets, he wondered if Yuri was all right, or if he somehow came down with the same affliction - at least his body seemed to be okay. But he'd need to get moving around - there was no good time to just sit around and do nothing, and he had several months he had to make up for it. So you may see him wandering about, pondering whether to buy certain foods (don't eat his cooking though) or wandering outside his old home - apparently he had been reassigned, but he was on the lookout for Yuri.]

The Hospital

[ Minato was a volunteer at the hospital following recent events, and noticed the crystallized Hero leaving the vicinity. Well... it felt right to ask him first, if he was sure he was feeling okay--at least emotionally, because he was fairly certain he had already gone through his physical checkups from the doctors before being given the word he was good to go. The air in the hospital is heavy, however. It's not like Minato intended to keep him there longer than was needed. ]

Are you going to be fine, headed out?

[dammit_yuri]

[Flynn nodded politely, turning to Minato as a courtesy.]

I should be fine. Physically I don't seem to have suffered many, if any, ill effects. I think as soon as I get on with things, the better. I was never one to sit still, anyway.

[He then proceeded to bow.]

Thank you for your help. I really appreciate it, sir.

[ Haha, what a formal person. He hasn't had that be regular since he was home. He bows back, in turn. ]

Alright then. Though... I'd like to ask again to be sure, what was the last thing you recalled when you were still awake?

I was on the beach in Balicea, when I drifted off to sleep. Then I woke up in this hospital, so it was an odd sensation at the very least. I've never been crystallized before.

[Flynn forces a chuckle, as if he made an ill-timed joke. It wasn't funny, obviously.]

I believe it was back in... June. Yes, it was back in June.

[Had five months really passed?]

Mm, I don't think it's an illness I've ever seen from where I came from. And if the natives here don't completely understand it either, well...

[ He drifts off, with a small shrug. At this point, he should be more grateful they even have these powers that save them from death, right? Though it would have been more helpful if they could better explain how these things worked.

So this Hero doesn't remember the events of the Night of the Thirteen Moogles. It's for the best, Minato surmises; he wasn't sure how to explain what had happened... if he can pass on bringing it up all, that'll be easier. ]

Okay. Don't let me stall you from other things you need to tend to.

[ He absently finger-taps the clipboard in his hands... ]

[ ... What fairytale book did this guy walk out from?? ]

It's not me you should be personally thanking but... I'll keep that in mind.

[ He doesn't outright smile, but it seems like Flynn's sincerity at least put him in a good mood. ]

[At some point during his travels through the city, a short, raven-haired woman darts across his path wearing black robes. Her brow is furrowed, and her expression is one of fixed determination. Is she angry? Worried? Both? Whatever it is, she seems on a hurry, and her path is leading her in the direction of the hospital. As she passes Flynn, she mutters something that sounds vaguely like a curse under her breath.]

[A few seconds later, after she's several yards away, a Moogle comes flying after her in hot pursuit.]

Miss Rukia, wait! Where are you going? What are you going to do to Yuri?!

He's getting what he deserves!!!

[She shouts back fiercely over her shoulder. Now she sounds more angry than anxious, and she doesn't slow her pace for a second. Those ninja-classed Heroes sure are fast!]

[dammit_yuri]

[Flynn could only manage to blink several times, trying to make sense of what was unfolding in front of him.]

Pardon me, ma'am, but I assume you're looking for Yuri Lowell? Is he still residing in this tenement?

[damn_juicebox]

[Hm? Is that man speaking to her? Rukia turns, and sees that Flynn is following. She slows down, regarding him curiously. He said Yuri's name, so apparently they knew one another. Was he a new hero here?]

...I'm not sure.

[Rukia frowns, glancing at the hospital.]

I was just informed that he'd entered crystal stasis. But I'm not sure why it happened.

[That's why it makes her so angry. Had he died? If so, when? How long would it be until he awoke? Or is he going to be there for much longer? She's not sure, and she hates the thought that she might have lost a friend in this place.]

Rukia Kuchiki.

[She extends her hand.]

Who might you be, and how do you know Yuri?

[Yuri was now in crystal stasis? Right when Flynn woke up from it? That was a terrible coincidence.]

My apologies, Lady Kuchiki. I am Flynn Scifo - I come from the same world as Yuri. I was looking for him, which is why I was so surprised to hear that he's in crystal stasis.

[He bites his lower lip, as if thinking - what if it was going to keep on being this way, just like in their home world? They could never be side by side for very long. It was difficult to swallow.]

I just awoke from crystal stasis myself.

[Lady Kuchiki? Can this truly be Raven's friend? But he's so...polite! And formal! And probably a thousand times nicer, she's willing to bet. She regards him with a mix of puzzlement, pity, and sympathy. As different as he seems, it's not pleasant to hear that a friend is in crystal. She knows that personally now.]

I apologize. I hope I didn't speak too bluntly.

[She can see that he's troubled by this news. Well. She supposes she can draw on Yuri's face later, and see that Flynn is settled first.]

You can call me Rukia. Do you know how long you've been asleep?

[Honestly, she's kind of curious herself. It might give her a better idea of how long Yuri might be out.]

The current date is November 5th, if that helps.

About five months, give or take a few days.

There is no need to apologize for anything, Rukia. From what I've overheard at the hospital, varying degrees of time pass for each individual person. Hopefully if Yuri were to awaken, it wouldn't take as long.

[He looks at the house, and shakes his head. Yuri wouldn't want him to put his life on hold, much like Flynn hoped Yuri fared well enough without him here.]

Thank you for being his friend when I couldn't.

[ Yuri had mentioned that another had come to Crystallis, though he was stuck in Crystal Stasis when Raven arrived. He just happened to be passing by the hospital which Flynn exited, the timing was impeccable. Raven did find it a tad concerning that Flynn came out of his crystal state as Yuri went into one. The illness of the crystal phenomenon was a complicated one. It was good to know the effects weren't permanent. It meant Yuri may also come out of it, even if it took months. That kid was stubborn after all.]

Done sleepin'?

[ It wasn't exactly a proper greeting, but then the gang had never been known to be orthodox about things either. Witty response aside, Flynn would probably have to be filled in on lost times. Though Raven's only been here for two months. ]

[Captain Schwann...? Or rather, Raven. He wasn't certain what was going on, but at least Raven seemed to recognize him.]

Indeed.

[He had a lot of questions he wanted to ask his idol, but Flynn just smiled and bowed politely.]

Have you seen Yuri?

[ He didn't go by Schwann anymore, just Raven. Especially now that his involvement in this world was much less critical than it was back home. ]

He decided ta take a snooze.

[ Well. He didn't decide it, but it happened anyway. ]

Who knows how long he'll be out fer.

[ Raven didn't sound particularly broken over it, but it might affect him later when he realizes just how long that might be. He'll just have to make a name for Brave Vesperia by himself, and give the kid something to come back to. ]

[Flynn bit his lower lip.]

[Struggling to come up with a continuation for the topic, Flynn shook his head and gave a forced smile.]

How have you been?

[ Oh? A questioned directed at his well being? Raven wasn't sure how to answer that in ernest. ]

Same old.

[ This style of life was starting to get repetitive. ]

I'm gettin' a little old ta be savin' the world. Does the esteemed Commandant have any plans.?

Here, I am no Commandant - there is no need for that title. I would think that you, Sir Raven, would be all the more familiar with that concept.

[Flynn is slightly annoyed, but he knows Raven means nothing by it.]

I need to get reoriented here. That's about it for now.

[Yuffie is doing what Yuffie does; wandering along the roofs of houses while finding her way through the city. It's a lot easier than other methods and she doesn't have to worry about random foot traffic getting in her way. Though there are some buildings under construction or destroyed which can have interesting effects when the ninja isn't paying attention.

The flash of bright blond hair pulls her attention first and a miss-step sends her tumbling from the roof. It's loud and it takes her a minute to stand and figure out what it is that she had seen.

She turns almost 180 before her gaze lands on Flynn. Her mouth hangs open and her eyes widen in disbelief.]

FLYNN!

[A smile played across Yuffie's lips as she went running towards the boy. She remembers hanging out at the beach and then he was gone. Her steps were loud as she ran her arms were out stretched to wrap her arms around his neck.]

[He can't help but smile.]

Yuffie, right? It feels like it's been forever.

[Well, it hadn't to him - only hours had past since he last saw her from his perspective, but he figured saying that would make her feel better. He turned to her and politely bowed.]

How have you been?

[Yuffie’s mouth began to run away from her the instant he asked.]

It sucks! You left and then shit went to hell and I might have slept in your bed a few times but I don’t know if that’s still your room now? Yuri is still a jerk but he bought me food and said he’d brush my hair so he’s forgiven for now. The Empire went more crazy and then things exploded and Kalki is a jerk and the crystals might make us be stuck here and no one is doing anything. [Yuffie included.] More crazy dream stuff happened and everything just sucks

[When she finally finishes she’s panting slightly, her expression exasperated and annoyed. However a second later she’s smiling again.]

But I’m so glad that you are back! You are much nicer than Yuri.

[dammit_yuri]

Well, it's good to be back.

[As much as he could muster any kind of truth out of that.]

Yuri has his good points, too, and some points which he's better than me at. I'm glad you hold me in such high regard, though.

[Yuffie puts her hands behind her head with a toothy grin.]

I know, don’t get me wrong, I really like Yuri. [He just likes to tease her and Yuffie likes to complain.] …but I like you too.

Also! That’s sorta depressing. We should do something fun!

[Since he disappeared last time though Yuffie has no idea what they could do besides eat.]
