SAME... pls excuse a little bit of fast forwarding here...
After the pumpkin, and some heavy lifting to get towards the next room haphazardly marked on their map; Midna looked down at the lifeless body of Darkhammer. She looked no worse for wear from the battle, having probably participated minimally, sounding a curious. "Hmm..."
Re: SAME... pls excuse a little bit of fast forwarding here...
Dylas shrugged and lifted a hand to his shoulder, massaging where he'd taken his only blow during the short battle. The ball had barely grazed him, but it was still going to be enough to leave a bruise.
Curiously, his tail was lifted slightly, like a horse's would be when praised or feeling accomplished. He'd enjoyed the fighting, even if there was now blood on his claws. It wasn't like he carried a sword.
"What's up? Did you notice something while you were busy not helping?"
no subject
"We'll take this with us," Midna announced happily, nodding towards the weapon, then jumping backwards in the air, back onto her place between his antlers. "I'm sure it will come in handy somehow."
And it was probably heavy. So here she is, settling back into a comfortable spot in his mane of hair, and leaning her head on an upturned palm, waiting for him to take it. "Well? The longer we take the more that stew is probably getting cold. Or eaten. Eee hee..."
no subject
Dylas stepped forward and kicked the steel ball with one of his hooves. It hurt like hell, but the ball still rolled a few yards away while Dylas tried (and failed) to look like that didn't just hurt. He glances up at Midna, but it's not like he can really see her well from doing that.
"You're lucky I want some damn stew," he muttered as he went to pick it up. There was nowhere convenient to store it on his body, so he had to resort to holding it in his right hand. At least being a Monk meant he could carry it without ease, but he still didn't have to like it.
no subject
"Through there," Midna's pointing again, patting his head in a way that just says 'giddyup.'
The next room reveals a large thick wall of ice, one that will have Midna sitting back up in interest again. "There, now what did I tell you?"
no subject
Is he hinting that Midna has a nasty personality? Maybe. But he's still the one sighing and picking up his pace when Midna pats his hair. He even hurries a little into the next room, his stag hooves clipping against the floor much more impressively than Epona's ever could.
"I bet I could punch this down, but you seem against that," he muttered. "I've never tried one of these before, so hold on!" He decides it'd be best to get a spinning start, holding onto the chain as he swings it before releasing it. It shatters the ice.
And it keeps going, shattering the wall behind it. That definitely wasn't on the map, but at least it stops there. It'd be a pain in the ass to hike to the bottom of the mountain to pick it back up.

As she peers over the top of his head again, her eye lands on the one important thing— a chest! "Oh~?" she chimes, pulling herself up and forward to drift down to he ground again in front of it.
There's a moment of hesitation, where she talks herself out of what if it's something stupid again? and coaxes her hands to push it the top open, peering inside to find...
no subject
But he had a more important question, so he lifted his finger and pointed it down at her.
"Did you just try to cuddle me?"
no subject
And so, changing the subject, she upturned her nose and crossed her arms. "I knew I should have trusted the bad feeling I had about this. No way that yeti seemed anything sure of herself... hmph. Let's head back and hope she had some other brilliant idea..."
And don't you dare insinuate she was trying to nuzzle up close again...
no subject
He did not want Midna cuddling his hair, or so he readily admitted in the form of yelling as loud as he could while she opened the treasure chest. He had his own arms crossed, too, and he would've felt the burn of a blush himself if his body still did that.
"We can do that. Fine. And I'm going to eat some of this cheese on the way." Look, he doesn't have a bottle, so he has to snack on something. He walked over to Midna and picked up the cheese before taking a knee, making it easier for her to sink into his hair or whatever it was she felt like doing.
slight fastforwarding again!
After a series of climbing, opening doors, and well-timed jumps (all of which were appropriate criticized— ) they had finally made their way back to the foyer, Midna in full frown mode.
"What happened, uh? What?! Cheese?" or however much was left of it, anyway. "Uh, did husband move it? ...Uh, where in the world did we put it. Sorry I need thinking time. Take cheese to husband, uh?"
In Midna's opinion, this woman needed more than just thinking time... but voicing her thoughts on the matter had little chance of furthering their quest to the mirror. "Let's... go..." she spoke carefully, keeping herself in check, then a hushed, "I told you not to eat so much of it," for Dylas, and the cheese.
Nevermind that she hadn't even said that.

He kept the block of cheese behind his back like a toddler not wanting to be scolded while they spoke to the missus, and he carefully edged along the walls until he was exiting with his back facing her. Pulling the cheese block back in front of him, there was still a good three-fourths of it left.
"Shut up! I didn't eat that much." Then again, it was a big block of cheese that now looked like a wolf had taken several bites out of it. "We're never going to get out of this place unless I punch through some walls," he continued to gripe until he was handing the cheese over to the husband monster. At least they made a cute couple.
no subject
Midna drew back slightly as the large furry man, that wasn't Dylas, sniffed in the air, his eyes widening as he caught wind of something. "Uh. WHAT?! GOOD SMELL!" Uh oh Dylas, he's looking right at you now. "What you have, uh?!" And here come some massive hands right at you to find out.
no subject
"H-hey, it's right here!" Dylas nearly stumbles backwards as he shoves the cheese into the yeti's hands. His hooves still don't make sound against the floor as he scrambles backwards, but he manages to get the cheese in front of him and plucked out before he gets a hug he never asked for. And if he had to go down, he'd make sure Midna got caught in it somehow, too. "It's for you! But some, er, rats got to it or something!"
no subject
Into the soup it goes, as he gives it a stir. "Little more time on fire, it become gourmet soup, uh! Here, taste!"
It seems to be an invitation to come forward and give it a try... just as an excited, "I think I remember, uh!" breaks the silence from the next room. Midna, who was now in the ground with her arms crossed, was just about at the end of her rope with Yeta and peered up at Dylas from under her crown.
"You go talk to her."
Sorry Dylas, no soup for you. At least you had all that cheese to tide you over.
no subject
He's so busted, and...
"Wait, seriously? ...I mean, of course it's perfect," he corrected himself, watching. If Midna watched him (if she could even see his ears from the floor), they lifted and twitched when it was time to finally taste the soup, only for Midna and Yeta to spoil the mood yet again.
"What? No, you've got to be kidding me, dammit." But as much as he wanted to protest, he also really wanted to get out of this world. He made a vow to catch a fish before leaving, then trudged off to talk to Yeta.
no subject
Nonchalantly, Midna finally makes the scene again coming out from the kitchen and dusting her small hands off against one another. "Well?" she was expecting results, Dylas.
But there's a twitch of her ear as she hones in on the unclicking of a door's lock, on the opposite end of the room. There's an unimpressed look over towards Yeta, who it's lost on, then back towards Dylas.
"Let me guess..."
no subject
Dylas only sighs so loudly that it would cause an avalanche if it were outside and shrugs, turning back to face Midna as she entered.
"It's the last door, right? This has to be the last one. If it's not the last one, I'm just breaking down walls."
Without waiting for Midna, he headed into the newly opened room.
faaaaaast forwardsssss
Unfortunately, it wasn't the last door, either. Even more unfortunate for Dylas, punching through wasn't going to do them much good either, since this part of the mansion seemed to involve more jumping than anything. Jumping and fighting... and some cannonballs.
Midna had taken up residence on her perch between his antlers again, growing strangely quiet this time, up until they had their hands on the big key and made their way up a winding path upwards... where they'd find the large locked doors.
"This has to be it..." she sat up taller as they approached, hearing the footsteps crunching in the snow behind them, having grown accustomed to the silence of Dylas'.
It was Yeta. "Thank you. You come inside..."
Well Dylas? Someone was going to have to use that huge key.
