[ The Night of the Thirteen Moogles! The day so many people await so importantly… And the day so many others have come to fear. It was obvious something bad would happen this year, after all bad things have happened every time on this day for the past three years. Why would this year be any different?

And indeed, there is quite a number of undead Heroes of Light and natives now roaming the city of Aqures Ixen, controlled by their Moogle overlords—Or rather by the four Heroes of Light who are currently being possessed by said Moogles. An atmosphere of dread floats above the city and unsurprisingly, few people seem to have festivities in mind. Some fearless and determined Moogles are still preparing for the celebration, helped by equally as fearless Hypellos and Tarutarus. But in spite of their efforts, the roads and streets of Aqures Ixen are mostly deserted by normal people.

Will this night see King Moggle Mog return and take over the world with the undead hordes raised for him by his loyal Moogles? Or will the Heroes of Light triumph once again and bring light back to Crystallis? For them to succeed, the Heroes of Light will have to be careful and thwart the plans of their possessed friends, if they can… ]

[Atmosphere of dread or not, someone has to still patrol the streets of the city. More so on this specific night than any other. It feels significantly déjà vu for Sephiroth, similar to last year when he had been out on the rooftops fighting a giant marshmallow version of King Moggle Mog. At the same time it had been something of a turning point for his relationship with Terra as well-

Difficult to believe it had only been a year ago. But it still feels, yet again, very much like something on the air is about to catch fire.

Another zombie head goes flying as Deathblow swung with Masamune has the now well-practiced result. The energy from that S-Type SOLDIER custom job quickly fading as Sephiroth folds the backside of the blade back up the outside edge of his left arm. With proton pack equipped and the thrower hooked closely into the back section of his harness for access easily should he need to switch, he turns to those one or two who have helped to form something of a Heroes-task force and made it this far.]

It's all coming to a head tonight, whatever has been brewing this last week.

Just what do you think all of this is for?

[So ridiculous this entire week has been. But, something has to be up. Which is why Tsubomi's Proton Pack has been going off, fending off the zombies attacking.]

If I had to hazard a guess- [Though really what is it always at this time of year.]

-this'll be the third attempt of perhaps not-so unknown moogles to resurrect their long dead king.

[More than 90% certain here. Sephiroth somewhat regrets not arranging to split up and lock down areas of the City in order to contain the chaos that has been this week. Perhaps it would have been easier to snuff this out already.

[Another year, another time when rather than having a holiday party, the dead were walking. This time, Nanami was patrolling the hospital, because she was not going to deal with the Crystalized heroes chasing her down. Again.]

I don't know what Lydia sees in this holiday. Maybe in America they can actually have fun with it.

[She had even gotten a costume. Okay, she was still wearing a set of sparkly cat ears, a tail, and decidedly more feline make up with her Ghostbuster job's outfit. But the point of the matter was no one ruined the parties of Nanami Kiryuu and didn't live to regret it.]

[Some of those assembled may recognize a certain shambling lord, blood leaking copiously from an old wound on his back where someone slid a knife when he wasn't sporting his armor. He's holding a lightning elemental sword in his gray hand, blue eyes flat and vacant.]

[He is not one of the intelligent zombies who retains some semblance of his old personality and thoughts. His only instinct now is to seek an opponent, and slay them brutally.]

( once again, everything is going to hell in crystallis. must be a tuesday, etc etc. when she turns a corner, her eyes are alight with recognition at first with a loud— ) Sir Chrom! ( and then, realization of the red stain on his back sunk in. )

[Oddly enough, he doesn't turn at the sound of his name. But when he sees movement, his head swivels drunkenly to loll in Yuna's direction. The milky eyes that meet hers are completely devoid of personality and emotion, a strange sight indeed for someone who's never been able to keep his face from openly expressing every little thought and feeling that flits through his mind.]

[He begins to shamble toward Yuna. Is it truly Chrom? It has to be, that's Falchion he's holding in his grimy, cold hand, and lifting slowly to level the point in Yuna's direction.]

[Regardless that Narasimha is still in custody or not, Sephiroth isn't so naive to think that there aren't others that would look to get their hands on the wreckage of the WEAPON that the Heroes of Light had managed to defeat back on the Calm Plains a few months ago. Not to mention, the inn that he's staying in prior to catching a shuttle back to Esdham is just across from the airship port.

Every patrol he's done, since Aqures Ixen started to become zombie apocalypse, has crossed the 12th District in some measure or another. It would be a slip of his stern sense of duty, therefore, if Sephiroth didn't patrol the perimeter and particularly the area around the hangar in which those salvageable pieces are stored at more-than reasonable intervals.

It -has- to be moogles at the bottom of this, who else could it be? It's -always- been moogles and that damned last King of theirs.]

( there has been some tink, tink, tinkering around the twelfth district lately, which, if you know meredy isn't completely out of the ordinary. what is a little strange though is the downright desperation with which she's been working.

she had sent her minions out to gather some very necessary parts and, depending on how successful any of them had been, would be outright. after a few more twists of a screwdriver there's some muttering, followed by a— ) KUPO.

The chk- of a lighter is what announces Kaji's presence, as he steps out from his hiding spot. "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. But the third year in a row?" He peers at Meredy, looking for changes in her appearance. "You weren't who I was expecting, though."

"That letter you sent. Wasn't to help us, it was to get rid of your competition."

[There's a cackle as Sonic makes his way to Palitutu's Laboratory. This was easy. Too easy! Things would go so fast that he'll go in and get what he needs before anyone realizes what's going on!

Of course, the fact that there's a hedgehog heading for the laboratory when said hedgehog rarely has any reason to go there is probably a little... odd.]

[ This thread is dedicated to the third of the three Moogle plans. It is the most obvious and directly dangerous one but if too many Heroes of Light take care of it, the other two plans will succeed.]

[The evening of October 31st. The Third District, near the Crystal of Fire. All is quiet, and it seems as though the Night of the Thirteen Moogles may pass without incident for once. But it is not to be. Out of nowhere, and very suddenly, the air is full of the sound of roaring jets, and the ground rumbles as a huge moogle-shaped robot with a glorious golden crown atop its head lands in front of the crystal. And out of the speakers on the outside, a very familiar voice emerges.]

KING MOGBOT 14.0, active. Power level: over 9000. Locking targets. 100% of lesser organisms will be eliminated for the glory of King Moggle Mog.

The sounds of high heels running across stone heralds the arrival of one of the heroes. Only, it's not Lust this time. Jack is sporting some unique Performer gear tonight, topped off with a Chocobo feather boa (thanks for the idea, Erika.)

Jack had a bad feeling about what his roommate had been up to when he had discovered Ed. This is even worse. But he can't despair. Not with her. So he stands in the robot's path, and holds out one glitter manicured hand. The rules say that everybody gets a chance.

"Chiaki! You've got to stop this! Remember your friends, remember the city you've fought to protect! Whatever's gotten a hold of you, you're stronger than it! Dont lose hope, not now!" Will his words get through to her? The lights are on but is anybody home?

Cloud was dreading this moment. He didn't know how it was going to happen. He didn't know precisely what horror would descend on them. There was one thing he did know and that it was he wouldn't abide his friends being used as puppets. Not ever, and especially not after last year, and certainly not after the recent murders.

He'd been out patrolling, doing his part to keep the people safe from the altered Heroes running about, but as that robot screamed across the sky he knew exactly what it was and who was in it. "Damnit no..." His and Chiaki's friendship was an interesting and odd one, especially thanks to the Sage's vision, but that didn't make her any less a friend.

He'd been out as a Paladin, but with Onion Knight equipped he called on the power of a particular Ability he'd been keeping in reserve, "Surtr! Online!" He kept running after the robot, leaping up into his magitek armor as it met him halfway there

Being in the cockpit of the robot kept Cloud's balking reaction to Jack's outfit concealed, but there would be time for that later. The arms of Cloud's red armor raised, the claws opening both as a calming gesture and ready to grapple. "Chiaki! I know you don't want to do this! I know you're not in control right now. We're here to help! If you can do anything, please show us a sign!"

Omega || The End Of The Thirteen Moogles

[ Following Chiaki’s defeat, or rather the defeat of the Moogle who had possessed her, the mastermind behind the events reveal himself. Those who had seen his dead body last year might recognize Mogespeare, except the glow and see-through appearance of the Moogle clearly indicates he is no longer really “alive.” ]

[ The ghost moogle looked, furious, to say the least. ]

If 't be true I cannot summon Omega to exact our King’s wilt, then I shalt torture thee all, Kupo. Every year on this day I shalt returneth, I shalt exact vengeance until the last of thy kind is dead! Mine spite for thee all is such, death shalt not cease mine fury, Kupo. Death after death, pain and suffering, hatred and spite is all that waits thee! All glory to the King!

[ With that said, the ghostly Moogles flied to the castle of Aqures Ixen, intent on summoning the King once more. If only the Heroes of Light knew a Moogle who knew how to stop that…

We'd better get after them. [not that she has a good track record of stopping summonings, but still…]

[After the events in the 12th District, of course Sephiroth doesn't get to the scene until the nasty business with a certain robot-Mog has been resolved, but he does catch the end of the proclamation from the ghost of Mogspeare -with one hand on the particle thrower gun clipped to his belt.

He shouldn't roll his eyes at the never-ending story of the attempts to take vengeance in the name of King Moggle Mog every October thus far but really this has gone far enough now. There won't be another cycle in which they can repeat -and who knows, even succeed- and that Sephiroth hadn't considered the ways in which those Thirteen Moogles could be implicated this month just tells reams about priorities.

He's about as battle worn as any of them from the encounter at the 12th District, but at least healed enough that wounds sustained aren't bleeding anymore. Sephiroth looks briefly around those that are gathered in the area, pausing on one or two that might know him well enough to get drift of what he might be thinking-]

This has gone on far enough.

[He doesn't give much more of an explanation to that, but instead of turning in the direction that would lead to the Castle as might be expected, he's turned heel in another direction somewhat back in the way he had come. It was time to put Mograma to the test, for once and for all; the mog-on-parole had informed him last year that he could have put a stop to it, if only after the fact.

As for the price Mograma might demand, well that would depend on him. Do or die would have to suffice.]

[Duster doesn't want to believe it. All this was because of a few Moogles that wanted power at any price, Akane working against them the whole time...

He doesn't know what he can do to stop it. He never spoke to Mograma. What he can do is to attempt to stop the summoning by following the ghostly apparitions of the Moogles. He had fought ghost before, and they can be defeated with physical attacks. Whether it would be true in this world must still be discovered. He leaps onto the rooftops, jumping across buildings to catch up to them before they reach the castle.]
