BOSS BATTLE: Colonel Deweg
Job: Magitek Knight


[ When the light finally fades, the Heroes of Light will find themselves in a much larger room, it looks like a hall of some sort. Only the one with an eye patch remains, and a Gunblade appears in his hands.

The first person attacking or mentioning they don't intend to surrender or something like that, will have that Gunblade pointed at them, with a magical bullet fired at them. ]

Wh-- Oh. Alright then, uh, I guess this is how we're doin' this.

[Sparks has no idea what a Gunblade is. To him, that's just a goofy-looking sword. He runs in, fists at the ready to knock this guy's weapon from his hands when he's suddenly hit with a bullet in the chest. His armor stops it from going too far, but it still hurts quite a bit. He stumbles back, just barely managing to keep on his feet, and looks utterly surprised.]

--You shot me? With-- huh? I...That's cheating.

[Cloud had heard rumors of such weapons used by some parts of the military, but he had never seen one before. His eyes go wide as he hears the gunshot and sees Sparks stagger.

He turns, glaring at the man before them and plants his feet. His robe flares as energy surges and he lets loose as strong a flame as he can. Momentarily, he seems drained, but Cloud seems to be doing much better than he did in the fight against the Chocobo Eater. With the spell cast he looks to Ashe, his expression shifting from anger to worry.]

Can you heal him?

"Its a good thing that this only need to do half as much work. Blind!"

It felt good to hex once more. Henry struck a dramatic pose, hand outstretched, letting the deep
purple energy of his dark knight class flow down his arm and out towards the colonel.

[The young ninja jumps back, holding her blades in front of her as a shield. She has an idea but she needs him to be distracted first. She throws a blade towards the generals hand and then sidesteps behind Henry.

Yuffie controls the volume of her breathing while trying to stay out of sight. She might just be able to surprise him, if she is lucky.]

Ashelia nodded at Cloud's question as she readied herself for battle. "When necessary. Leave that to me." And then, so that both Henry and CLoud could hear her, "Keep him distracted. Communication is most important; ask for ether if you run out. Let's give Yuffie the opening she's looking for, yes?"

She then cleared her throat, advancing on their opponent to stand beside Sparks. "Marshal, if we are to stand victorious over our foe, we need to communicate, just like on the plateau. If you need me to heal you, simply tell me so, yes? The Corporal and I will cover you as best we can." Though the queen was clearly itching to get up close and personal with their attacker, she held back for the moment.

Ashelia sheathed her sword and jumped backwards, extending her free hand towards Deweg while keeping her shield between them. "Thundara!" A bold of lightning arced from the tips of her fingers, speeding towards the Colonel. The difference in power from a regular Thunder spell was quite noticeable; she couldn't help but smile as she felt that power flow through her.

[ This Colonel is just a human, so obviously much less resistant than the Chocobo Eater was. All three attacks hit him, Cloud's fire spell, Henry's dark knight skills and Ashe's Thundara. The successive attacks throw him back, he grunts and steps back. It's obvious the Heroes are a bit too numerous for him to handle. He takes some distance from the heroes of Light.

In quick succession he casts two defensive spells: Runic first, that will negate the next magical attack cast against him and use its powers to heal him. Firewall then, that will automatically cast a fire spell on whoever attacks him afterward. He then stares at the heroes as soon as the distance between them is safe enough, his gunblade lowered. ]

Very well. If you surrender now, I promise to let you live.

[ This may sound laughable given how bad his odds are in the battle... ]

[Sparks gives Ashe a quick nod.] Yeah, no. I'm fine. Save it fer now.

[As far as Deweg goes, Sparks wonders if this guy is just reciting lines from a movie or something.] ...Seriously? No. Not happening.

[Not after that shot, no. However, Sparks has no idea what that Firewall spell does, but he's got to learn sometime. But at this point, a fire spell isn't going to keep the marshal from attacking. He really wants to deck this guy. He's going to start by punching the arm that Deweg is holding his gunsword with, in order to get him to drop the weapon.

He'll also try to act like that fire spell didn't hurt as much as it did.]

Agh, I... yeah okay that might have stung a little.

[Cloud can't help but blush a bit. He had overreacted and as he watches Sparks he started to feel bad for not having faith in the Marshall. He knew well what even a single bullet could do to a man, but it seems like their enemy's attack hadn't hurt the paladin nearly as bad as he had been selling it. Look at him standing up to that fire attack, clearly the Marshall is a strong man.

But now isn't the time. Giving Ashelia a nod, Cloud pushes his thoughts from his mind and focuses on the battle at hand.]

That's enough of that. WATER!

[He stamps his staff down and then thrusts it out, sending a spout of water from the top of it in the direction of the soldier. It's a strange spell, he thinks as he casts it. It's similar to blizzard, but unlike anything he's seen used back home. The principle seems to be the same though.]

Henry was so excited, finally, he would have a chance to use it. He was worried that wind spells didn't exist, but they totally did. He woke up one day shortly after the chocobo event and there is was, sitting in his head.

"I'm sure your threats will just blow over nyahaha AREO!"

Henry Swung his sword in front of his face, said the spell name, and swept is in the direction of the Colenel, a great gust of wind burs forth where he cut, heading towards the boss.

[Yuffie snuck around to the side using the objects in the room and her friends as cover. She is small enough that it isn't too difficult. Once she is in position her eyes focus on her target, her fingers itching to see what he has in store for her.

She jumps out towards his right, her hand slipping into his pockets and then retreating back behind the group.]

BOSS BATTLE: Jenni
Job: Illusionist


[ When the light finally fades, the Heroes of Light will find themselves standing in what appears to be a void. The ground beneath their feet feels solid enough, yet they cannot see it, or anything else for this matter. They won't be able to see each other, but they can hear each other if they decide to speak-- As if they were standing in different rooms.

The void in which Kobato, Sephiroth and Zelda stands will soon take the form of some sort of mirror alley. As far as the eye can see there are mirrors all around them shaping a maze, and they can catch glimpse of each others in the mirrors, but if they try to rush to one of their friend, they'll only find a mirror. ]

Group C Boss Battle: Jenni

[As soon as the blinding light goes off Sephiroth spreads his stance wider and turns Masamune around in his grip so he'd be ready to attack whatever comes out of it. The void all around is startling but he can still feel that he's on solid ground and so just glances around, calling out-]

Zelda?

[Though soon the area around settled and Sephiroth is faced with multiple reflections of himself. He peers around the mirrors, looking for a glimpse of the others. He heads in the direction of where he thinks Zelda is upon first glance, only to stop as the toe of his boot meets the corner of mirror and floor.]

What is this? [He demands of no one in particular.]

Group C Boss Battle: Jenni

[She remembers darkness much like this from home and for a moment she pauses as fear washes over her. She has something to protect but she is stuck in this world away from that. After a slow breath she turns in a small circle examining the darkness.

Zelda hears Sephiroths voice and turns towards it, catching a glimpse of him in the mirror.]

Sephiroth? What do you see? Is Kobato with you?

[Her voice rings out clearly through the darkness as the mirrors shift and surround her.]

Group C Boss Battle: Jenni

[He can't tell where exactly Zelda's voice comes from considering how the sound bounces around all the mirrors. Sephiroth turns a few times on the spot while he tries to figure out which mirror has to be reflecting her directly.]

Mirrors. I don't see Koba-

[There. He spots her reflection against a smaller plane of glass and steps in that direction.]

Kobato. Are you there?

[He dare not attack the mirrors even if he could imagine shattering them all. He might well catch Zelda or Kobato in the long slash. Let alone that glass could cut them all to shreds. Not worth the risk.]

[Kobato had spent her time kneeling on the ground, staffs in hand and had no idea of what to do, what was going on and even how to get to the others. She could see them but no matter how she tried she couldn't reach them. So all she could do now was sit there and hope things go away. Things will turn back to normal eventually.

Looking up slightly she heard voices and turned her head.]

I-I am. I don't know where I am though, there are so many mirrors. I can try and walk through, but I'm not sure I can find you. So what do we do?

Stay in contact and move through together.

[Were they teleported again or is this room really here. Zelda hopes that can work there way through this.]

Can we try to break the mirrors?

[The grip on her sword tightened as her eyes took in the mirrors reflections.]

[Easier said than done when they really have no idea how far they are away from each other. Breaking the mirrors is the logical answer to Sephiroth but he doesn't want to hurt the others by sword swing or shattering glass.]

Don't. [It's calmly said but most certainly an order as he uses the plane of reflective surface on his right side to feel himself along the wall.]

Who knows what shattering the glass will do. Use the walls to feel around.

[It didn't take long for the young woman to do as she was told, using her hands to trail along and find her way. The whole time her hands were kept on the mirrors.]

I'm moving along, I hope you find you all soon.

[Zelda drops her sword and reaches her free hand out to glide along the mirror as she walks.]

Will it be possible to stay in contact with each other?

[She doesn't know if the maze will turn or where she will move but she is determined to keep them together. With that woman's power it would be to unsafe for any of them to be alone.]

[ Following her last words, Kobato will stop hearing Zelda and Sephiroth altogether. Likewise, she will no longer be seeing their reflections in the mirrors. However on the next turn she will see "Zelda"-- A fake looking and sounding identical to the real one. She holds the same sword the real Zelda had and approaches Kobato. ]

Kobato? Is that you?

[ Zelda and Sephiroth will be able to hear Kobato speak, but not the Fake Zelda. The reflection in the mirrors will disappear for couple seconds at regular intervals, except the real reflections-- Which may make it easier for them to reach other and hopefully, Kobato before it is too late. ]

BOSS BATTLE: X-ATM102
A Magitek-based War Machine created by the Heran Empire-- It was involved in some of the most bloody fights that shook the Continent of Balance these past twenty years. After being defeated, it was salvaged by Esdham's troops and brought to the Magitek Research Facility years ago to be studied. Unfortunately, Aqurean scientist never managed to uncover its secrets or reactivate it, let alone find means to defend against it. It was abandoned until one of the spies reactivated it. Albeit it was damaged in battle years, it remains a deadly opponent. Escape is the best solution.


[ By the time Saori reach the room where Luke, Gaara and Ales are, she will be able to hear the gigantic Mecha destroying the wall and attacking her friends. X-ATM102 will start by trying to catch Gaara with its gigantic pincer in an attempt to crush him-- It can easilly be stopped with a Thunder spell, or less easilly by attacking the machine repeatedly. Luke and Ales are left alone, for now.

Trying to escape the way the machine came from would be pointless-- It seems to be a dead end. The door still cannot be opened from the inside, completely sealed. Saori though can open it from where she is-- But it will take her from one to four turns to do so, depending on how fast and efficient she is. ]

Hey, do you guys hear that-

[Before he can finish his sentence, the wall crashed down to reveal the giant robot. Ales jumps a foot into the air at the sudden intrusion, but doesn't panic over the killer machine.

Then he remembers that this time, it's actually attacking him

He sets to collecting all the various metal scraps he can find. There's a pile of small pieces that won't be of any use as a shield, but he can always take them back home to construct machines later.

There's a huge piece of metal hidden among the artifacts, now uncovered by his frenzied rummaging. Ales pulls out a small hammer he keeps in his pocket, shrugs, and strikes it several times. The process is a lot easier than he thought would be even possible, and in a couple of strokes, by hitting the right spots, the useless piece can now be carried via a handle in its back. Looks strong as well.

He then moves on to another large piece to make a second shield]

[As Saori, Brigid and Monty run through the halls, they hear the loud crashing from the machine. Of course the door to the room would be locked. With the loss of Genesis still fresh in her mind, she rushes to get the door open.

From the other side, there's a loud pounding from the door, as if someone's trying to break in. The door eventually gets kicked in. Saori runs in with two moogles right after her. Genesis is no where to be found though.

There's no time to explain as Saori jumps into the air before launching herself at the War Machine. Spear at the ready, strikes without mercy. She jumps back before the machine can strike back.]
