better late than never

What: A week late Halloween celebration.

Warnings: The Heroes and a party. What could possibly go wrong?

On November 5, another letter from Johnny would go out to everyone reminding them of the costume party, and invite all the newbies along as well. Costumes are a necessity for entrance, except for the newbies, since they've only been here a little over 24 hours now.

The Observatory is in its usual party set up, but this time with an added stage area for any musicians who would like to perform. It's also the spot set up for the costume contest later on. The whole place is covered in festive Night of the 13 Moogles decorations, and as always, there's plenty of food and drinks.

[The one time he happened to do that happened to be with an actual person who works as a police officer. Turning her head slightly, she recognised who they were at least so gave a little smile. She was going to play along for a bit because why not, even if she had nothing on her for the moment except the clothes she was wearing.]

Contraband officer?

Yep. Confiscatin' everything delicious into my stomach. Official business.

[It's definitely a costume version of the police uniform, but a pretty good one considering. He holds out his arms for Bloom to get a look. At least Johnny has been good the last few months, and she hasn't had to deal with him needing to be tossed into the drunk tank again.]

Whattaya think? Pretty scary, me as a cop.

It depends on what people find scary about cops? I mean zombie cops are scary because of that possibility of them eating you alive. But normal cops are only scary if you've done something wrong. But since I have and it means taking it away, I won't stop you.

[She just gives a smile and gesturing toward the table.]

[He laughs a little at that.]

Depends on who ya are, I guess. Usually it's been the cops who end up findin' me scary.

[And don't mind if he grabs something tasty from the table.]

But, I'll keep your good deeds in mind, citizen, in case yer ever in trouble.

I don't see why, I mean I don't think your scary.

[But that was just her really.]

I think if I am in trouble I'll keep that in mind.

[He shrugs.] I guess most people around here don't. Everyone here's either used to me, or seen too much shit wherever they came from to be afraid of a guy like me. It's a totally different story where I'm from, though. Guess next year I'll have to work harder on a scarier costume. Y'know, if Halloween's not interrupted by a giant marshmallow moogle attack or somethin' again.

Last year it was...Well there wasn't a giant marshmellow, but it something we had to deal with. Although I stayed in town personally.

[She paused for knew it was going somewhere.]

I guess I mean to say it doesn't mean it will get interrupted or not, but it's more than likely.

I heard about it. Sounded pretty rough. Not sure if this year was much better in comparison.

If it keeps gettin' interrupted, then I'll just keep throwing Halloween parties the week after. Maybe we'll have a quiet Christmas, if we're lucky.

It was quiet last year at least. Christmas at least.

[As far as she was aware anyway.]

But as for Halloween, I get the feeling it will keep happening until this is all over and done with.
