better late than never
Who: Everyone!
What: A week late Halloween celebration.
Where: The Observatory
When: Friday, Nov. 6, 7:00 PM
Warnings: The Heroes and a party. What could possibly go wrong?
On November 5, another letter from Johnny would go out to everyone reminding them of the costume party, and invite all the newbies along as well. Costumes are a necessity for entrance, except for the newbies, since they've only been here a little over 24 hours now.
The Observatory is in its usual party set up, but this time with an added stage area for any musicians who would like to perform. It's also the spot set up for the costume contest later on. The whole place is covered in festive Night of the 13 Moogles decorations, and as always, there's plenty of food and drinks.
[[This is just a general mingle log, and a good way for the new Heroes to meet everyone, so post whatever and have fun!]]

Johnny D'Amico | open
As for a costume, Johnny decided to go the ironic route, and has shown up as an Aqures Ixen police officer. Grinning, he'll approach people at getting some snacks with a light tap on the shoulder from a night stick.]
Halt, citizen. That's contraband ya got there. Afraid I'm gonna have to make ya hand it over.

and maybe sample some candy. But Billy had been trolled enough by Bart to recognize a teasing tone by now.]That's gonna be a problem... [Billy shuffled stiffly in his costume to face Johnny, not having enough movement in his arms to really hand over anything. It was a terrible costume, really, but the kids from the orphanage had helped him make it, so he was going to wear it.]

Yuna 🌹 Open
Yuna spends some time singing, then other times inspecting costumes and watching her friends mingle and enjoy themselves. She even brought a deck of cards to go with her costume and she's not opposed to playing a hand with anyone.
She has a glass of wine next to her while a smile plays across her lips. It's nice to see everyone relaxing and enjoying themselves after everything that's happened. It's hard to completely banish the sadness from her gaze but she's trying.
When she see's someone she knows she smiles and waves beckoning them over.]
no subject
Yuna! I'm happy you're here, and I really like your costume!
[They were, presumably, in different categories, so nothing unfortunate would happen to Yuna's costume. At least, nothing caused by Anise.]
[Still, when Anise sees the cards in Yuna's hands, she gets an idea. A terrible, awful, perfectly Anise-esque idea.]

Terra Branford ❦ OPEN
She hopes this is okay but Tempest as assure her it is. She finds a place to sit and then begins to play with the kitten in her arms.]
No, flower.
[Each time the kitten tries to climb away she's forced to bring it back to her lap.]
no subject
Hey...you could probably let her down, as long as you keep an eye on her. She seems pretty energetic. [And, you know, Billy wouldn't mind helping monitor the kitten...if Terra needed a break, or anything.]

Zelda ϟ Open
There is a wide smile on her lips with golden strains of hair falling unbound down her back. She looks over at people as they arrive and welcome them to the party. She's managed to get a few decorations together and since it is after the season they weren't to expensive; she made most of them by hand.
There are a few spiders on the walls and black streamers around the room. She even got the punch to be a bright red color to complete the effect. She has her harp but she doesn't play letting those who want to take the stage play first.]

Rukia Kuchiki | OPEN OF COURSE!
[At least it'll keep her warm on the way home. It can also serve for pajamas to ensure a peaceful, cozy sleep.]
[But it won't. It's going in the fire after this because she still hates hamsters.]
[Rukia pours herself a glass of untainted punch, munches on snacks, and eventually finds herself standing in front of the bob-for-apples barrel. There are people gathered around, and she can't quite see what's happening, so she turns to the person closest to her.]
What kind of game is this?
[Of course, she could ask the same thing regarding the pinata. And she will. Or she might ask you about your costume if she isn't sure what it is or why it's supposed to be scary. Basically just expect her to come up and bother you about something, because she will.]
:>>>
[Games were always fun with more people, after all, and a little competition among friends was always healthy.]
[At least, that was how she was originally planning to approach the situation. But once it's clear that Rukia has no idea what she's doing or how the game is played, she changes plans. This was gonna be good.]
It's really fun! Have you played before? I can teach you the rules~!

Open!
[She'll be mingling about throughout the night. The first part of the evening she'll spend around the snack and drink table, sampling the various dishes and treats. She's probably hovering around the "special punch" more than she should be, but anyone nearby is welcome to intervene.
Please do not let this girl have any.][After she's done with (or has been shooed away from) the food table, she'll stand by the party games. They were all pretty standard fare, but she's pretty happy to challenge anyone at anything. Pin the face on the pumpkin, bobbing for apples, it was all fair game. And if the people she was playing with wanted to make it more interesting? Well, who was she to complain.]
[Finally, she'll be circling around the party, looking for anybody she knows, before joining in on the costume contest.]

The Barkeep | Open
He arrives at the party with a small crate of drinks. He wears a ruffled shirt with the nicest pair of pants he owns, and a flowing, red cape with a white trip flows behind him. The sewing took the longest time to make, but what he is most proud of is the crown, the golden rim made from thick paper and the red plush bit knitted from yarn. He also carries a scepter constructed from a stick and an old coffee can painted gold. If someone gets close enough, they can still smell the old coffee coming off form it.
As the Barkeep, he has the duty of overseeing the bar. Anyone who need a drink or a conversation is free to walk up to the table he set up at the side of the room.]
Conversationalist!
[She looks over at his costume with a smile. She likes it though she doesn't know what it might be from. Some of the books suggest that he's a king but she doesn't want to chance guessing. Her own costume is a cute little deer.]
It's a party. I'd feel bad if you were working and not enjoying yourself.

Ventus | open
[Ven really wasn't sure what to do for a costume party -- so, as usual, he asked Rae's opinion, and she was
analkind enough to give him a rather thorough explanation of different costume possibilities, including traditional choices and her own personal opinion on what might be good inspiration. He quickly decided something scary sounded most appropriate. Ghost? Nah, that seemed kind of disrespectful after the previous month. Reaper? Heck no.Eventually, he put his creativity and craftiness to the test with something simple but effective. The straw stuffing is itchy and the burlap isn't the easiest thing to breathe through, so shortly after arriving he opts for carrying the mask over his shoulder instead. As for the straw, well, he'll deal for an evening. He can be found all over the place, sometimes eating, sometimes playing a game; if he notices you, chances are very good he'll come up and say hi.]
B. hahaha I have no shame hahaha
[KARAOKE THO.
Okay, the fantasy, less-technologically-advanced equivalent of it, rather, but a stage is close enough, right? Ven has no instruments, nor can he play any, so anybody's free to generously supply him with some music -- otherwise he has no problem with using only his voice, and use his voice he does.
And yeah, he's getting into those movements as he goes. #YOLO, etc.]

Scrooge McDuck || Open
[ Scrooge wasn't wearing a costume. He didn't really come here for the costume party after all, nor did he care for it. He was here just because of the free food that goes with the word "party." That and anything he could get his hands on. Business was going well and he was on his way to open a worldwide bank network, but the Heroes of Light were special. Making more connections with his fellow world travelers couldn't hurt.
Hence the richest duck in all of Crystallis (of course, as he is the only sentient duck he's automatically the richest one) could be found taking the best food and eating it. He had no disguise, but people are welcome to assume he's a human disguised as a duck. ]
B/ Moogle Argument
[ After a while, a Moogle came into the observatory and headed straight for the duck, holding a stack of
spampapers meant to advertise the brand new McDuck Bank™. Scrooge took the paper on the top and read it with a bright smile. ]Ah perfect, thank you Quackly! We'll send them next week to everyone in the city.
[ Scrooge kept reading the ad for a while before taking back his glass, but then looked back at the Moogle who was still flying before him. ]
Why, you can go now.
Mr. McDuck, about my salary, Kupo...
[ A frown, a cough and Scrooge pretended not hearing anything, burying himself behind the paper. ]
Mr. McDuck!
[ Begrudgingly, Scrooge put down the paper and reached for his pocket. ]
Fine, fine.
[ And with that said, Scrooge hands over... 12 Gil to the Moogle. That's 2 Gil per hour. The Moogle looks satisfied at least. Maybe. Scrooge on his end, looked as if his day had been ruined. ]
A
Another non-humanoid Hero is always welcome, in the Teensie's opinion.]
You're an actual duck, right?

Sparks Nevada | open
He actually had time and money to spend on his costume, and even though he knew no one was going to know what he was - well, one person would - Sparks made the costume he really wanted. He's wearing a crisp black uniform with gold buttons, his laser pistols as his side. Around his wrist is cardboard mock-up version of what would be a wearable computer system. He's an otherwise perfect duplicate of a Troubleshooter from his own universe, righting the software wrongs on Mars. And anywhere else that needed it.
To Sparks, Troubleshooters were just the coolest.
Despite October being exhausting, especially dealing with the crystal statues coming to life, he was in a pretty good mood. Time to have some drinks and be sociable for the first time in a long time.]
Reckon this party was a good idea. Didn't want another Halloween to be as miserable as the last one.

To his credit, the mask wasn't that bad. He was comfortable inside and he could breathe well. The fabric and feathers also were much more comfortable than most full body costumes. This outfit was clearly well made.

Heroes sure do love their parties. A problem arises, they knock it down, celebrate, and the process repeats itself! What a sad story. Things must get monotonous for everyone!
