Who: Everyone!
What: A week late Halloween celebration.
Where: The Observatory
When: Friday, Nov. 6, 7:00 PM
Warnings: The Heroes and a party. What could possibly go wrong?

On November 5, another letter from Johnny would go out to everyone reminding them of the costume party, and invite all the newbies along as well. Costumes are a necessity for entrance, except for the newbies, since they've only been here a little over 24 hours now.

The Observatory is in its usual party set up, but this time with an added stage area for any musicians who would like to perform. It's also the spot set up for the costume contest later on. The whole place is covered in festive Night of the 13 Moogles decorations, and as always, there's plenty of food and drinks.

[[This is just a general mingle log, and a good way for the new Heroes to meet everyone, so post whatever and have fun!]]

[Fai always enjoyed having a drink and talking while drinking, it seemed to be a thing he did sometimes with Kurogane, or at least before he arrived here nearly a year ago. So when he saw Barkeep he couldn't help but smile.]

Not going to mingle yourself?

[He adjusted his own costume as he spoke for the moment.]

[The Barkeep looked up from the bottle he was holding and--that certainly was a costume. Wasn't Fai cold in that thing?]

Sure, once I run clean out of this. Besides, bar's the best place for conversations, ain't it?

[He holds out the bottle of Crystallis vodka.] Would you like somethin' to drink?

[Fai was a little thankful that he was kind of use to the cold. Living in two cold and frozen worlds helped in that area.]

It can be, but if there are to many people one might not be able to keep one up for long.

[He was leaning on the side, making sure his skirt didn't ride up because no one would want that, not even him.]

[He points at Fai with the hand holding the bottle.] Which is why I pick and choose which conversations to listen to. Can't go around makin' drinks and talkin' at the same time. You gotta schedule it just right.

[He pulls out an empty drinking glass.]

What about you? Are you gonna go out and show off that costume of yours?

I see. I wouldn't know that. I mean I could learn to do that.

[Not that he had any use for such a skill but one could never know.]

I already have spoke to a few people and got reactions for it, so I think I'm done for the time being.

[Just wants a break from walking in high heels for a bit.]

[A quick glance at the maid costume.]

Well, you sure did pick a costume bound to get plenty of reactions. Ain't surprisin' it's become such a conversation starter. Now I don't judge much on what folks on wearin' - aside from terrible outfits that don't suit them none - but I cannot help but be curious as to your reason of wearin' somethin' so revealin' and uncomfortable on a cold night? Why's Halloween got to be durin' the cold season, it's biased against light clothing, that's what!

[He wraps his large, sewn cape around his body.] Now this? This is dressin' for the weather while lookin' good.

I have my reasons. I mean I could have gone with a longer version, but I didn't like them as much.

[Seemed more plain and less frilly than the one he was currently wearing. Tapping his heels for a couple of moments he leant leaning onto the side the best he could.]

Pretty neat costume you have, but I do have to ask what costume it is?

I'm dressed as any old regular king, the kinds you saw long ago. [In his time, this style of dress was part of ancient history.]

But this scepter here, seein' it smells a lot like coffee, I might as well be the kind of some country that grew coffee. Coffee King, if I had to give it a proper name.

Coffee King. I would let a kind like that rule. But I have to admit the outfit is one I wouldn't have thought king without the crown, but then again the king back home dressed differently.

[He was planning on having a drink here, but not coffee. Maybe later in that case.]

Well, kings ain't that common where I'm from, and even then, I doubt any of them dressed like this. Artistic licenses, you see, they allow me to to whatever modifications I want to this costume.

So, what'll it be? Coffee? Juice? Somethin' else?

What do you have exactly?

[He wasn't exactly sure what there was in this party so he figured he might as well ask.]

They are always fancy to an extent, kings dress. At least when out.

The standard. Wine, beer, gin, some extra flavorin' for mixed drinks.

[He holds ups some small bottles of cream and cherry syrup.]

What's your preference?

Hmm... Surprise me.

[Because why not try something new really and he honestly is a little curious what the other might come up with as he leant on the side.]

I trust you'll think of something nice.

["Surprise me." The Barkeep's first instinct when a new customer came to the saloon on Mars was to offer a beer or the strongest thing he had in stock, but in a classy party like this, something fancy would do.

He takes out a margarita glass and a shaker. In an effortless procedure, he mixes a fruit-flavored liquor with a strong drink, then pours it in the glass, adding a pre-sliced lime.]

Here you are. One margarita.

[It looks interesting, the colours and the glass it came in. Something new and interesting for him anyway as he picked it up, taking a sip. The texture and flavours were better than he was expecting.]

This is really delicious.

[Now that his customer was satisfied, the Barkeep took the opportunity chat about his life. Life has been stressful recently, and some good, old-fashioned gossip was a sure way to relax.]

How is the business goin'? Anythin' interestin' happen there recently?

It's going well. I mean since it's not full back to business, but nothing I can report as interesting going on there.

[As much as he sometimes would like it to. he knew wishing would never get that to happen no matter what.]

What about your business. How is that going?

Much better than I expected! I'm thinkin' that I need to hire you Heroes to help with the cookin' and security at this rate!

Speakin' of which, I should put up a post for that. There might be a huge crowd for the New Year's celebration.

Possibly. Though it's nearly another New Year, huh. This will be my second one here.

[He paused for a moment, the drink pressed up against his lips for a moment.]

Wonder what I should do for it this year myself. I know what you'll be doing since by the sounds of it you'll be working. Then again you probably would get a lot of business.

Of course I'm workin'. Drinkin' is one of the most popular pastimes durin' the holidays, and it's not like I have somewhere else to be.

[His wife isn't here, as Sparks Nevada's costume helpfully reminded him, and he trusts Ramza to behave at home. Why give up a chance to get some income?]

You're invited as well, you know.

[He smiled. He figured he could drop by at least.]

I will probably make an appearance for a bit, might bring someone with me, of course. After all I plan on spending new year with them.
