Who: Everyone!
What: A week late Halloween celebration.
Where: The Observatory
When: Friday, Nov. 6, 7:00 PM
Warnings: The Heroes and a party. What could possibly go wrong?

On November 5, another letter from Johnny would go out to everyone reminding them of the costume party, and invite all the newbies along as well. Costumes are a necessity for entrance, except for the newbies, since they've only been here a little over 24 hours now.

The Observatory is in its usual party set up, but this time with an added stage area for any musicians who would like to perform. It's also the spot set up for the costume contest later on. The whole place is covered in festive Night of the 13 Moogles decorations, and as always, there's plenty of food and drinks.

[[This is just a general mingle log, and a good way for the new Heroes to meet everyone, so post whatever and have fun!]]

[Her startled reaction actually manages to startle him slightly, making him jump before he breaks into an apologetic grin.]

Oh -- no, I'm sorry! I didn't mean to sneak up on you.

[His smile turns more cheerful again at the offer and he takes the drink.] Sure, thanks! I like your costume. It's cute!

[He is definitely the type of guy who can admit that honestly.]

Thank you.

[Zelda smiles brightly, she hadn't meant to be scared but Ven had snuck up on her and she isn't expecting a scarecrow when she turns.]

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to jump. I really like your costume.

A scarecrow right?

[It's something they actually have in Skyloft.]

[He nods, his smile growing.]

Yeah! I heard there were some scary stories about 'em, so... I thought I'd give it a try. [It wasn't terribly hard to make, and the experience was fun, besides.] Did you make yours?

[Zelda smiles, her thin fingers moving to her skirts to flare it out to either side.]

Yes, do you like it? I pulled the image from a book.

[Plus it is really cute.]

I am more used to wearing dresses so I thought making it a dress would be nice.

Wow, you did really good! [Especially if she put her own twist on it to make it a dress like this!] I thought everybody would do something scary, so yours really sticks out! In a good way, I mean.

[And speaking of, he casts a quick look around at the interior of the Observatory.]

Oh, yeah -- did you decorate, too? It looks nice!

I did but I had help.

[She smiles brightly at Ven before handing him a small plate of food. Boys should eat.]

I'm glad you are having fun.

[She's been worried about him.]

[Mom figures have a thing about providing food, don't they? Not that Ven's complaining ~~and not that he personally thinks of anyone as mother, having no previous connection in his memory to connect the dots between the similarities, but..~~.]

Thanks! [He's been so caught up in everything else that he didn't even realize that he is in fact hungry. He does know that it's been a while since he spoke with her properly, however, so before tries anything on that plate, he asks,]

So how've things been, Zelda? Are you getting by okay?

[That's really his way of asking whether she got through the last few weeks all right -- this isn't really the time or place to bring up the tragic details.]

[Zelda nods her head. It's been difficult and Zelda's encounter with her own ghosts have left the young goddess feeling a little weaker than before. She isn't about to tell Ven the details, it really isn't the time but there is one thing that she can tell him.]

I finally decided to look into my future using those files.

[Her's is open for all to see though it doesn't appear as if anyone's read it since no one has asked her about it. However, her state as a goddess is now a rumor that's flying around the moogles. There are a lot of gods among the heroes it seems.]

I don't know how accurate it is but it's a happy one.

[Both eyebrows go up in surprise.]

You did? Really?

[Hearing that it's good, however, makes him smile.]

I hope it is, then. Mine didn't go into my future, so... I'm not sure if I'd have looked or not. [Maybe? For the sake of checking on his friends. He can't say for sure, but the lack of that opportunity doesn't bother him, and it's obvious.]

Anyway, I'm glad. I guess it means you have more to fight for now, huh?

[Zelda smiles, she doesn’t completely believe the file knowing the source behind it but she is willing to treat it like a possible future.]

Well I had a lot to fight for being. I guess it means I have to be careful too.

[It’s yet to change how she does things and more than a few bits of her past had her worried but while she is here she’s going to keep trying her best.]

So what’s your favorite part of the party so far?

[She has been watching him when he goes up on the stage to sing.]

Mmm... [He glances around thoughtfully as he sips at his punch.] Just seeing everybody's costumes has been fun! They're all really different. I'd heard of Halloween before, but this is my first time celebrating it like this.

[You don't exactly Trick-or-Treat when you're a one house (castle) neighborhood. Same for parties.]

Do you have it in your world?

Nope. We have harvest festivals but that's it.

[She smiles at the memory.]

There aren't enough people in Skyloft.

[That perks his interest a bit. Most people he's met come from pretty populated areas.]

So you come from a small world, too, huh?

[She nods.]

That's right. It's an island that floats in the sky. There aren't a lot of people who lived there. A few dozen at most.

[Zelda knows everyone by name.]

Wow... it sounds pretty. [He's a little biased, though. As partial as he is to flying, he figures anything sky-high has to be quite a sight. Then--]

Oh! So that bird I've seen you with before -- is it from your world, too?

Yes, it's my loftwing. It's sort of how we get around but she's been with me since I was young. They imprint in a way, it's said that it's another gift from the goddess.

[If he ever wants to go flying she'd be happy to take him.]

She's resting up in the tower right now.

[She points over to where the stairs begin to spiral upward.]

Whoa, so she flies you around?

[He would take her up on that offer anytime.]

She sounds great! I'll have to meet her sometime. [Y'know, properly.] Heh, I guess she's not one for parties, huh?

[Zelda shakes her head.]

She doesn't mind crowds but she's used to the amount of people on Skyloft which isn't as many as here. She loves me though and she stays near.

[The goddess's smile widens.]

I love her too. I'll make sure to introduce you properly. Just let me know, she comes whenever I call.

[He doesn't want to be a bother, but if she's offering...]

How about after the party? I can stick around and help clean up, too.

Sure. I'm planning just to clean up food afterwards. I'll move the tables and chairs back when there is light out.

[She smiles brightly before pointing to the stairs.]

And you're welcome to go up and say hello.

[As long as Ven doesn't try and ride Zelda's loftwing without the godddess there it will be fine.]

[He wouldn't! Unless the bird said it was okay. But if it's not a talking bird, then that possibility is thrown out the window, anyway.]

Can I really? [yessss] Should I take her a snack or something?

[He wants to make a good impression!]

[Zelda laughs and then moves over to the table where all the food had been laid out. She grabs some pieces of sweet bread and then holds it out to Ven.]

She'll search for more but give her these.

[He takes them carefully with an emphatic nod.]

Got it! Thanks!

[And he'll hurry up to see the pretty bird.]
