better late than never

What: A week late Halloween celebration.
Where: The Observatory
When: Friday, Nov. 6, 7:00 PM
Warnings: The Heroes and a party. What could possibly go wrong?

On November 5, another letter from Johnny would go out to everyone reminding them of the costume party, and invite all the newbies along as well. Costumes are a necessity for entrance, except for the newbies, since they've only been here a little over 24 hours now.

The Observatory is in its usual party set up, but this time with an added stage area for any musicians who would like to perform. It's also the spot set up for the costume contest later on. The whole place is covered in festive Night of the 13 Moogles decorations, and as always, there's plenty of food and drinks.

Burning it?

[Zelda thinks about that for a second and while that's a good idea there is one really big flaw in that plan.]

We don't want to burn the buildings down. The wood would catch before the sugar.

[They are still repairing things from the war. No need to add to it.

Zelda takes her drink and takes a long sip. It's good and she doesn't really need to drink to have a good time. She'd rather watch and make sure that everyone's okay.]

[That is a major flaw, and the Barkeep would rather not have to deal with a burning city another time.]

What about streets, ain't they made of stone? I'm not sayin' to go blastin' it with magic, just burn off the bits and make 'em easier to scrape off, is what I'm sayin'.

Maybe.

[Zelda takes a sip of her drink and then thinks a moment longer.]

What about Ice? That might stop it from being sticky at least.

[It's cold enough that it's probably due to snow as well.]

[The Barkeep ribs his chin.] No, that'll freeze it to the spot, but if you can get somethin' strong enough to scrape it off, it could work. Like a giant shovel, or one of them robot with a scrapin' capability.

[Zelda laughs at the mental image that his description brings to mind.][That's how she sees it anyway.]

[He takes mock offense to that.]

What? I'm sure the scientists among us can build somethin' like that. With all that magitek research, I'd be surprised if they didn't have a robot to shovel snow.

I know. I'm sorry.

[She hadn't meant to hurt his feelings.]

Don't you think it'd look fun though? Sparks holding a big shovel and yelling at frozen marshmallow?

Apology accepted! [The cheerful look on his face indicates that he didn't take offense to that at all. He's dealt with jerks on a regular basis on Mars; it would take a lot more to hurt his feelings.]

Oh, I don't think it'd be fun. I know it would be! The Marshal's always gettin' frustrated when things don't work out the way he wants, this aint' any different.

[Zelda nods trying to lower her wide smile. It's really hard to push the imagine in her mind away. She takes another sip of her drink before watching Barkeep.]

It's worth a try so I'll make sure to bring it up.
