better late than never
Who: Everyone!
What: A week late Halloween celebration.
Where: The Observatory
When: Friday, Nov. 6, 7:00 PM
Warnings: The Heroes and a party. What could possibly go wrong?
On November 5, another letter from Johnny would go out to everyone reminding them of the costume party, and invite all the newbies along as well. Costumes are a necessity for entrance, except for the newbies, since they've only been here a little over 24 hours now.
The Observatory is in its usual party set up, but this time with an added stage area for any musicians who would like to perform. It's also the spot set up for the costume contest later on. The whole place is covered in festive Night of the 13 Moogles decorations, and as always, there's plenty of food and drinks.
[[This is just a general mingle log, and a good way for the new Heroes to meet everyone, so post whatever and have fun!]]

[On a happier note, talking about Turks gave Reno's grin an almost dangerous note to it, as inviting as it still was.]
Special Ops -- Black Ops, mostly. We're Shinra elite. Take the jobs that need discretion, or just that special touch, an' we do it damn good.

I think I getcha. Sounds like a fun job. What's Shinra, though, that they need a special ops team?

to a Turk.]We pretty much ran the world, once.
[Reno is nostalgic, almost wistful, as he describes it.]
A lotta shit happened between then an' now. Last I was there, a' course, we were rebuildin'. Tryna' grow again, tryna' fix things up, tryna' do a lotta things better. But hey --
[He smiled wryly.]
A meteor takes out yer home city, who wouldn't hafta rebuild from the ground up?

[Says the guy who's never held down a real job. Not that he's had a lot of opportunity to.]
Before I got here, I guess I was just a soldier. If we could even be called that. A resistance army made up of kidnapping victims. It was pretty fucked up. [He shrugs, like it was nothing major. Not true.]

Hey, don't sell yerself short, yo. A well-prepared soldier can still make a big difference.
I would know.
[Cloud.]

[He rolls his eyes sarcastically. Johnny figures it's only a matter of time until another place in the cosmos kidnaps him for yet another fight.]

So -- what d'ya wanna be? Here? Or wherever.

[Fame for him would be awful. He'd be a freak show, not a talented performer.]
Now, I just... survive, I guess. Take it day to day. Once I stop endin' up in places where I gotta help save the world, I'll worry about it then.

[Reno frowned. He supposed Johnny had a point: he did have a rather distinctive look. But from what he'd heard, Johnny had some decent skill, and it sucked for it to be overlooked because of his body. Unfortunately, that was show biz, and your body mattered just as much as anything else -- whether or not it should.]
I guess day t' day isn't so bad. Besides, you throw a good party.
[He smiled and lifted his glass.]
