[He shakes his head and rolls his eyes a little, before taking a long drink from his glass.]
All 'n all, this is a pretty cool place, though. So weird to think it's been here all this time, all these people here, and we were totally shut off from one another.

[Sephiroth flexes his grip around the tumbler he holds, with his wrist on the bar, knowing it's not been a moment yet since he last took a sip and not wanting to be pulled into the social inclination to take another because your company has just done so.]
There is some sort of barrier separating us, somehow. You could feel it when we passed through on the Enterprise. We don't even know if there might yet be good reason for it, too.

[Johnny leaned his back against the bar, watching the crowd.]
Yeah. Seems weird to me that they'd block everyone out. But they didn't seem unwelcoming, either. How does a whole continent lock itself away, not concerned with what the rest of the world is up to?

[Then as Johnny leans back, Sephiroth takes another quick sip. He seems to savor the flavor of the liquor before it's swallowed though. There is a tall glass of water nearby which has to be his as well. If he's going to enjoy a drink; he'll always be sensible.]
I'm not convinced that really they had a say in the matter. If it's all happened in the aftermath of the Calamity before...[An open-shrug, he's just suggesting after all.]
It could have something to do with that Narayana cult, or not. There is still too many unanswered questions.

[These people might know a way to make it worse before they can make it better. The Heroes knew so little about it, and these people probably knew a lot more. They could easily get ahead of them on this if they weren't careful.]
It's one of the reasons I'm tryin' not to talk about bein' a Hero, but it's too obvious that a guy like me's an out-of-towner. Most people can figure it out on their own.

I suppose there is one way out of your predicament. After all, they don't know you're one of a kind.
[It's true enough, it's all very well that those of them that are human match the humans of the rest of Crystallis at least in physiology but those who live on Mysidia don't know any better.]
no subject
[It would also help if there was anyone else in their group who looked like Johnny, but obviously there couldn't be.]
Think 'a how disappointed they'd be if they got out there in the world only to find out I'm the only weirdo who looks like this. [He grins before taking a sip of his drink.]

I guess we'll just have to prepare for that particular inevitability, for when it happens.

So what have ya seen so far here? Anythin' interesting? Anythin' we should be aware of?
no subject
[He looks past Johnny's shoulder a little, just to make sure none of any of the other denizens of the End might be eavesdropping.]
Not least, we've the customs and traditions of four completely different races to get to grips with. The last thing anyone of us needs is to offend by accident.

I haven't really left the city yet, either. I think that since I've been travelin' so much in the last two months, that it feels okay to stick around here and check out the rest another time.

[He's been traveling around a lot recently too -even if it has been back and forth between Esdham and Aqures only- over the last month. Partly his own fault but at least it's keeping things fresh, it's so quiet at Esdham currently.]
There is much to be learned just from observing and keeping ears open, at this stage.
