[How some people even managed to survive and persist in being like that is quite beyond his comprehension.

It's obvious that Sephiroth has noticed that Graham has taken offense though and he raises both hands, palms forward in a open-shrug of a gesture that's supposed to indicate he meant no harm by the words. It could also have meant back-off in another situation but lets hope that Graham doesn't take that too far.]

You're right though, it is amazing what they've done with it.

[Dropping his hands and posture more casually, Sephiroth lightly smiles as he too looks around more as Graham goes back to being sat against the wall.]

[Slowly, Graham slides from a sitting position to lying on the floor.]

I can console myself with the idea of how we're traveling to a new continent, brimming with possibility. Just as I was adjusting to life in one new place completely different from my own, I get to experience another! I can only hope that I don't react with a case of culture shock that I'm unable to function at all. How embarrassing that would be on top of everything else.

[...no? Really Sephiroth has no clue how to deal with Graham based on their exchanges before and now he's just about ready to step away and stop trying to figure him out. What a strange individual!]

I guess, at least we'll all be as lost if it's that much of a shock.

Do you think it's very different from the rest of Crystallis? Do we know if anyone is there at all? What if we land only to find out everyone there died hundreds of years ago? Or what if they just shoot us out of the sky as soon as we cross their border? There's so many questions tearing at my heart in this situation. I haven't felt anxiety like this in a long time. Is this what it's like to be an explorer? I wonder if this is how Columbus felt, and Lewis and Clark, and Magellan, and Leif Eriksson! What man truly fears is the unknown, and exploring a new territory is practically the definition of that very fear.

[He looks up at Sephiroth from the floor, sleepy blue eyes peeking out from his disheveled hair.]

But it's exciting, too. There's no point living in fear when there's so much to be gained! We're broadening our horizons just like they're broadening theirs. Let's make them as broad as can be!

The possibilities are truly endless.

[But did Graham have to go on like that? Sephiroth's careful gaze doesn't stray from the young man for very long even if he does take a moment to also look at the locked door to the engine room and wonder to himself.]

[It's a longer flight than he's used to taking on an airship but at least he had a private closet of a room to retreat to if he wanted-]
