Man, ain't that the truth. I don't even have a busy job, and I'm still all over the place. Which is a good thing. At this point, I never know how long I got on a world. Even if exploring sometimes ends up kinda bad. [Hello, Amnesia island.] So I wanna see as much of it as I can, y'know? I'm glad this place opened up to us.

Heh, yeah. I died here once. Got revived. Died back on Exsilium once. Don't recommend it to anyone. [At least the death here on Crystallis happened before he even realized what happened. Exsilium wasn't so nice. Don't mind while he finishes off his own drink quickly, and orders another.]

Sometimes some people need a punch on the mouth. Sometimes it's the only way to get through to 'em.

This round's on me. Yeah, I'm glad too. This world's got a lot of things, especially in the secrets department. I kind of wish I had the scholar job so I absorb more of this stuff quickly. I'm definitely bringing stuff back if I can.

Sadly, yes. I do know that for a fact. It was the only way my world's Loki finally took the hint to leave me the fuck alone after I broke his jaw with a punch. Actually I was more afraid of Mary ripping him a new one. Given her background as an actual pirate back home, I don't blame her at all.

I'm sure we got enough braniacs to deal with it. [Johnny firmly believes none of that stuff is for him. Leave him to beating up stuff and lifting heavy things. Less responsibility.]

You know I've been meaning to ask, your accent that's from New Jersey, right? I actually studied abroad in New York ages ago so I knew it sounded familiar.

Pretty much. Born in Newark but moved to Manhattan was I was like nine or ten. [And obviously raised by Italian New Yorkers, with how he talks. if his last name wasn't a give-away.] Yer from Japan, right?

Straight outta Kyoto. I majored in English so of course I had to come over to the States to study a bit. Used to be a translator for a Japanese publishing company before things happened. Like dying. Yeah nothing like getting your soul ripped out of your body because someone wanted a soul-based power boost.

Though I did eventually manage to pick up a bit of every language...but it's limited to food and drinks. Bet no one ever saw that coming, right?

Heh, I always heard that was the most important thing to know in any language, anyway. I mean, I took French in high school, and I doubt if I ever go to France that I'm gonna be askin' where the library is.

Sounds like ya had some interesting shit goin' down, though. What kind of asshole goes around rippin' souls out of people?

Food for the body before food for the mind, right? France is rather lovely though but my best tip is to just explore and avoid the touristy stuff unless waiting in lines is your cup of tea.

Well, the kind that believes in rumors that consuming souls can boost powers or even extend your lifespan. It's mostly power-hungry supernatural beasts and beings from around the world. I moonlight as part of corps specializing in dealing with rogues like them. Let's just say it's never a boring night.

Man, I hear that. Coulda used folks like you back where I was from. Demons are tough fuckin' customers, though, lemme tell ya. [He shakes his head and takes a long drink. He's often surprised he's still alive after everything that happened back home, let alone in Exsilium.]

Not that I ran into any other supernatural shit, though. Just demons. And uh, one angel. If there's, like, vampires 'n werewolves and stuff out there, I wouldn't be surprised, but I ain't ever met any.

Heh. You never know. Where I'm from, we have an other realm where gods, demons and what not exist. We just to go into plain hiding when we want to stick around the human realm. Zeus is the only one who's banned from ever going because...well, he has a tendency to stick his head into things he just shouldn't.

If any stories we read in school were right, Zeus shouldn't be allowed to do much of anything. [He doesn't remember a lot of myths, but Zeus is pretty notorious.]

I know for sure angels and demons aren't from Earth, it's like you said. Other realms or somethin'. Heaven 'n Hell, really. And even those break down into smaller parts, I think. At least Hell does, goin' by what Lukas had told me.
