[This definitely gets his attention. He sits up straighter now, as a he slowly breaks out in a grin.]

Yes! Yes, of course I do. No one could appreciate it more than I. And we already have motorcycles here! Well, the Empire does, their technological pursuits clearly being in the right direction. There's one in the Observatory. I've already taken it apart, because I had to. Every piece of machinery I get to disassemble here makes my heart soar to new heights! I had to know how a world without combustion engines or fuel oil constructed their vehicles! I even put it back together and took it out on a ride. For a date. I recommend that everyone do this.

[Graham quickly taps his fingers on the ground as he thinks out loud.]

If building a new one was so easy, I'd have my own by now! But we've got one, meaning there has to be more out there. Or the parts to make them. I just need to get my hands on them. How cruel would it be if they were all locked away in the Empire!?

The empire...

[Reno hadn't thought of that. He tapped his lips thoughtfully.]

But you took it apart an' put it back together once -- so you know how it runs already. I wonder if we can find anythin' around here that'll be comparable...

I mean, worst case scenario, we just take a li'l trip an' liberate some a' these machines that are clearly bein' misused. [Tee hee.] But if we can figure out which parts we need, maybe a Blacksmith can start makin' 'em?

We can have our own fancy tech in no time if we just know how t' copy theirs!

A Blacksmith! Yes, perhaps. I'm an Assassin, not a Blacksmith, but I know there are some among the Heroes. If he's not one, Ales knows enough that he might be able to lend some expertise. And he knows about crystals! Things here are all run on crystals. And crystals come from living things. It's a strange cycle when you think of it, a cycle of death and reincarnation as another object! Who knows what you might become here once you die. If your karma as bad you may just end up as someone's alarm clock!

[Good to see he's on track as always. But at least his mood is turning around.]

"Ales..."

The name sounded familiar, though Reno wasn't sure. He hadn't exactly been the most social, and there were a good amount of Heroes here.

"Which one was he again?" If he knew as much about crystals as Graham seemed to think, he could be very useful.

Ales! Small. Blue. Antsy. A good engineer. [Ales currently sat very highly in Graham's book of worthwhile people in Crystallis.]
