Player Plot: The Mysidian Tower!

Who: Everyone who signed up for the plot!
What: Jade is taking a team to explore the Mysidian Tower before it'd swallowed by the Calamity.
When: February 8th-12th
Where: The Mysidian Tower on the Continent of Ruin.
Warning: Everything that can be expected of surprise monster encounters. Beyond that, whatever people bring with them.

The Enterprise brings everyone involved to the tower on the afternoon of February 8th. Thankfully the early floors have already been cleared by previous explorers, making the initial entry easy and relatively safe. Once the Heroes start reaching the upper floors, however... Who knows?

[There are no visible locks or handles on the door. There is some faded Ancient writing running along the edges, very similar to the doors down on floors 30-39. In fact, this one is identical to the ones below.

The devices look like the same type that can be found in any crystal research laboratory... for the most part. On closer look, some of the devices on the workbenches look... off. As if someone has tried to fit them with pieces from something completely different.]

[Yuffie begins to inspect the weird pieces, her face contorting as she tried to figure out what these people were thinking or doing.]

I wonder what they were doin' with all this stuff. Looks like they left in the middle of doin' something, too.

[He goes to check out the door, noting the Ancient text. He runs a hand over it, trying to clear off the dust.]

Wish I knew how to read this stuff. There's probably some kinda code or spell or somethin' to open it.

[The text doesn't get any less Ancient, but it does react slightly to Johnny's touch, glowing softly. The glows fades quickly, however... This doesn't seem to be enough to open the door.

The Ancient devices, meanwhile, start to look more and more haphazardly put together the more you look at them. Some look sensible enough -- a part might be mismatched here and there, but not too out of place -- whereas others... You have to wonder if at some point someone gave up and just started throwing things in to see what worked...

Is that a piece of green Materia attached to one device?]

[Yuffie, while thinking that slightly glowing things is a little creepy, can't keep her eyes away from the familiar looking ball of green. She carefully steps over towards it before attempting to pick it up.]

How is this here?

[She has a lot of materia back at her room but she can always use more. Besides the fact that this is totally out of place.]

[Johnny runs his hands over it a few more times, trying to repeat the effect or have something else happens. When nothing does, he gives up and walks over to Yuffie.]

[He actually hasn't dealt with materia yet. To him, it just looks like a pretty rock or something.]

Materia... It's magic from Gaia but it doesn't work here.

[Though she now wants to learn more about that.]

[The materia doesn't come off of the device. It's essentially been crammed in without much expertise.

There are a few more similar devices with different-colored materia attached to them. Next to the devices, an Ancient computer has been connected to a tablet that looks very out of place compared to everything else. Johnny may recognize the tablet to be the kind made by the Initiative.]
