Player Plot: The Mysidian Tower!
Who: Everyone who signed up for the plot!
What: Jade is taking a team to explore the Mysidian Tower before it'd swallowed by the Calamity.
When: February 8th-12th
Where: The Mysidian Tower on the Continent of Ruin.
Warning: Everything that can be expected of surprise monster encounters. Beyond that, whatever people bring with them.
The Enterprise brings everyone involved to the tower on the afternoon of February 8th. Thankfully the early floors have already been cleared by previous explorers, making the initial entry easy and relatively safe. Once the Heroes start reaching the upper floors, however... Who knows?

No, I agree. It constantly slips my mind that our numbers aren't limited to just Heroes alone. Let me know if I could be of any help, though.
[ He hesitates for a moment before casting his gaze to the floor. ]
... Being in this tower brings back memories, so I would also appreciate any pointers that would keep me from getting overly sentimental.
[ Another sigh. That's certainly not the right moment for it, not when they're so close to reaching their goal. ]

Sephiroth's head tilts ever so slightly forwards and to the side as he looks down over Ace as he looks away to the floor before making his comment. It's unusual for him to be on the receiving end of such a direct request for advise, if only for the fact that he's not the most approachable.]
Memories? [A marked pause, plus a slight shift to the very corner of Sephiroth's mouth suggests he at least has some level of empathy in what Ace says.]
...they can be a troublesome burden, that's a fact.
Well. What is it that's making you sentimental?

No, personally, I wouldn't call it that way.
[ But he doesn't elaborate on it further, now musing over his choice of words, not meaning to come across as intrusive about sharing what was ultimately his personal background. Surely, the other man has his own business to attend to, but the question remains. ]
A very similar structure existed in my world, called the Tower of Agito. According to the legends, the one to ascend it would be granted the power to prevent the world's downfall, that is, become Agito. For all of us cadets, it had always been our lives' primary purpose. [ A small sigh. ] The sole path leading skyward [ He recited, stopping for a moment. ] is strewn with the bodies of a hundred, or so the script spoke.
It turned out to be just that, a myth, though the creatures within were very much real, and so I had my apprehensions before coming here. Thankfully, the Ancients have so far decided to show us their mercy.
[ But there's still something very particular about reaching the very top and seeing what it hides with his own eyes. The boy leaves out a muffled sound, as if unsure whether to continue. ]
... Coincidentally, today also marks the date of my first deployment. It feels a bit odd, to witness all these things line up so well.

As such, he silently listens, dedicating as much of his attention in Ace's direction as he explains, yet still remaining aware of their surroundings. Sephiroth is quick to see where Ace might have applied a little too much personal weight to this expedition. He nods, at least hoping that Ace will take his comment for what its worth.]
I see. Well it is rather parallel, one could argue.
[Being as who knew what they might find at the top of the Tower? Clearly being Ancient in origin and just from a journal he's managed to lynch from one of the floors, it did seem to have something to do with stopping Narayana -- that is, the Calamity. Not so far off preventing the destruction of the world, and by extension all of theirs.]
Hmm. [A kinder smile, not often seen on the other man stretches its way across the bottom of his face at Ace's last comment. He appreciates that, and also has a keen awareness personally of how certain things from others' worlds do have a tendency to correlate inexplicably.]
I doubt it will be the first unnerving correlation you might come across, if you'll allow me to speak from experience.
