What: It's Valentine's Day, and there are matchmaking notices everywhere. Here's an open log for one and all to post their shenanigans, meet ups, freak outs, and whatever else they're going to do about this.
When: forward dated to Feb. 14
Where: All over Aqures Ixen
Warnings: Ridiculousness.

[Plastering the city are notices matching up all of the Heroes of Light with one another, both the best and the worst. Moogles are having a grand old time handing them out and hanging them up, and are encouraging Heroes to speak with their top matches.

Naturally, reactions to this are mixed. Some Heroes are intrigued, some annoyed, some offended. Despite their feelings or misgivings, the rest of the city is still celebrating Valentine's Day as well, and now the thoughts of love are everywhere.

Goddamn moogles, can't they mind their own business? [Johnny looks over some of the other ones nearby, looking for Logen's name.] I bet yer name is on some of these. You better start lookin'.

Why? I don't much care. It's not like anyone's looking for a fight, and it's certain that nobody's looking to bed down with a broken old king.

[ He chuckles and finishes his beer. ]

Moogles just like to stir up shit. I guess they need to do somethin' with their time when they're not going on strike.

[ He grins at Johnny, having some fun at his expense. ]

West is staying out of it. He's too smart and proper for anything like this.

I was gonna go get a drink, but I guess I better go find out where else they hung these things first. The less people who see 'em, the better. Then I'll get a drink or ten.

[He sounds disappointed. But an idea dawns on him.]

[ He puts a ropey-muscled arm around Johnny and grins as they walk on. ]

[He grumbles. Anyone could tell this.]

Ain't any of their business, is what. I got enough problems without moogles tryin' to muscle their way into my love life. Whatever there is of that.

Heh, well, I left all that behind. Last woman I cared about went completely insane and left.

[ He heaves a sigh. ]

And it seems like mostly children here.

Yeah, there's one kid on my list, on the negative side, who's like 16. Christ, moogles. At least they didn't put him on the positive side.

[He feels a little bad for ya, buddy. Johnny's had bad romantic luck, but not that bad.]

Hmh. Don't really want to bed anyone anyway. So it's for the best. [ He shrugs his shoulders a little and says ]

Was married once though. Had children too.

[ He seems happy, just for a moment. ]

Never woulda took you for the husband 'n dad type. [He's a little afraid to ask why this was in the past tense, though.]

I really ain't that sort. Definitely don't ever wanna have kids. Last thing I'd wanna do is pass on these fucked-up genes to someone.

[Right, right. Johnny figures he should have thought of that. He takes a moment to figure out how to easily explain it.]

Y'know how things run in families? Eye color, body types, certain medical conditions? Well, all this? [He quickly waves a pointed finger at his face and head.] I might pass all this bullshit onto my theoretical kids. If I can even have kids. [He honestly has no idea how demon genetic work. Besides crazily.]

I don't see how that matters a shit, Johnny. My last woman, Ferro... well, she had demon blood. Made it so she couldn't see color. Still called me a fucking pink, though. She was brown, Gurkish you see. It's not so bad. You are who you are. She went mad and left, but it wasn't the fault of her blood. No, a fucking old man made her a pawn in his games, and that's what hurt her. I l... I miss her. But if that's all that's stopping you, you hear it from me right now. As long as you raise your children right, it doesn't matter what fucking blood they carry.

It's good to think that way. I'm glad ya do. Some people do, but... where I'm from, there ain't other people with demon blood. There ain't other people with weird teeth and skin and eyes, no other people with horns that start growin' when they're a teenager outta nowhere, no one else with creepy fucking powers to charm people into bein' infatuated with you. I'm it. And I ain't about to put anyone else through a life like mine. Bein' treated like hell, bein' played with by doctors, gettin' stared at and whispered behind wherever ya go.

[He suppresses a pained look before looking at Logen.]

I'm sorry about yer girl. I hope people like us get treated better in your world, for her sake.

Can't lie and say that they do, so much. Most folks fear 'em or whisper about them too, but I didn't give a shit because everyone was trying to stick a knife in me anyway, even when i was King.

[ His shoulders hunch. ] She left when she had the seed, on the way back to Ghurkhul. That's some powerful magic. She went looking for revenge, guess it was all she had left. I don't know what happened to her. [ He sounds pretty hopeless. ]
