What: It's Valentine's Day, and there are matchmaking notices everywhere. Here's an open log for one and all to post their shenanigans, meet ups, freak outs, and whatever else they're going to do about this.
When: forward dated to Feb. 14
Where: All over Aqures Ixen
Warnings: Ridiculousness.

[Plastering the city are notices matching up all of the Heroes of Light with one another, both the best and the worst. Moogles are having a grand old time handing them out and hanging them up, and are encouraging Heroes to speak with their top matches.

Naturally, reactions to this are mixed. Some Heroes are intrigued, some annoyed, some offended. Despite their feelings or misgivings, the rest of the city is still celebrating Valentine's Day as well, and now the thoughts of love are everywhere.

[Sparks Nevada is the last person in the world you have to worry about with Yuffie in that sort of regard. The only time he ever even tries to get near here is when he's trying to haul her off to jail. Sparks answers dryly as ever.]

Yeah, they're awful proud of themselves for slappin' some names next to numbers and seein' what happens next.

[Red folds her arm and shakes her head.] There's a whole computer program for this, kupo. It's very scientific!

Totally scientific. Y'know Yuffie and I hate each other, right?

[He sighs, shaking his head, and turns to Ramza.] And we're apparently almost completely incompatible. Try not to let it break yer heart, Ramza.

[Ramza holds out his result sheet to Sparks. The highest match, Yuffie, is 3%, and the rest are even lower.]

I am 'scientifically' not compatible with anyone, according to this. Did I offend the moogles somehow?

[At least at home, when people told him he should die alone, it was due to his birth or his supposed heresy. He did not know what he was supposed to attribute it to here.]

[Red gasps in horror at those stats. Even Sparks has to grimace at it.] Ouch. Well, ya won't get any competition outta me for her.

Look, I wouldn't put any stock into this. It's probably all just random names 'n numbers. 'Specially since the ball 'a fluff can't explain the [he airquotes] "science" behind this.

I didn't make the program, kupo, I don't know everything about it.

Do you know anything about it? [He asked the moogle desperately.] Is it a moogle that thinks I am inept, or a computer device? There must be some reason it is thus.

[He could not share Sparks' apathy to the situation. It had to mean something, otherwise the moogles would not have made so many copies and plastered them around the city.]

[Red pouts, feeling bad for Ramza. She gives him a reassuring pat.]

It's a computer! I don't know how they calculate it, but maybe you can go to Palitutu's lab and ask, kupo.

[Sparks wasn't as totally apathetic about this as he let on, but that didn't make him any less embarrassed on Ramza's behalf.]

Ramza. It don't mean anythin'. For all ya know some moogle fell asleep on the keyboard, 'n that's how ya got those numbers.

[Ramza gave Red a grateful nod.]

How could someone fall asleep in front of a computer? [Was that something that happened? For Ramza, computers were novel enough that each encounter with one was exciting. It was not an occasion he'd use to take a nap.]

Perhaps I should talk with the lab. Do you wish to join me? You and Yuffie are a poor match. You could be reevaluated.

Uh, by bein' bored? [What a silly question.]

Yeah, no, that's okay. Last thing I wanna do is give them express permission to investigate my love life. Bein' tossed in unwillingly is enough for me.

[Ramza chewed on his lower lip.] Perhaps justice would best be served if we asked the moogles to use the machine on themselves. See how it pairs them up. Then they might understand our feelings better.

[And if they understood, perhaps they would assist with taking the fliers down and never speaking of them again. One could hope.]

Taste of their own medicine. Could work. They could also be into it, though.

[Sparks hardly finishes that part before Red raises her paw.]

There's a surprise. Surprise ya hadn't asked 'em already.

Yes, please do. And see if your results are suited to you, or if they are as wild as ours. [And perhaps, when the moogles were faced with the inaccuracies of their computer program, they would be honor-bound to retract all of their faulty matches.]

You two have fun with that. I'm, uh, gonna go to work, I guess. And avoid the rest of this Valentine's stuff for the rest of the day by buryin' myself under a mountain of paperwork.

[Sparks start trying to make his getaway. Red gives him an angry pout.]

[Ramza gave Sparks a disappointed look.] You are willing to leave it at that? You do not feel compelled to see this through to the end?

[He hoped that Sparks was not as...what was it...'emotionally unavailable' as Saori was always saying. He looked to Red to see what she was planning to do.]

Does it really matter? Why're we actually concerned about this?

[Looks like Saori might be right. Or maybe Sparks isn't into this high school level of ridiculousness. Red quickly whispers to Ramza.]

Don't worry, kupo, I'll have them run his credentials again!

[He nodded at Red gratefully.]

Do you need me to accompany you, or would you be faster on your own? [He asked the moogle.]

We are concerned because people might get the wrong idea from these false readings. It is better to have them either corrected or denounced as fake.
