Love Springs Eternal (??)
Who: ERRYBODY
What: It's Valentine's Day, and there are matchmaking notices everywhere. Here's an open log for one and all to post their shenanigans, meet ups, freak outs, and whatever else they're going to do about this.
When: forward dated to Feb. 14
Where: All over Aqures Ixen
Warnings: Ridiculousness.
[Plastering the city are notices matching up all of the Heroes of Light with one another, both the best and the worst. Moogles are having a grand old time handing them out and hanging them up, and are encouraging Heroes to speak with their top matches.
Naturally, reactions to this are mixed. Some Heroes are intrigued, some annoyed, some offended. Despite their feelings or misgivings, the rest of the city is still celebrating Valentine's Day as well, and now the thoughts of love are everywhere.
OOC: This is an open log for everyone to use for Valentine's Day stuff! Feel free to make your own prompts.]

[somewhere in town]
She tilts her head back to keep her eyes on his face, still smiling.]
With that striking figure? I doubt it!
[and she spreads out a hand, expression smoothing out to something a little more serious for a moment.]
On this day of all days, are we not all lords and ladies of our heart? […he might not be interested, but she has to at least try.] I'd count it most auspicious if you were to come along- even just for half a bell!
Re: [somewhere in town]
Miss Tohka, yes? Why, exactly, do I need to come with you and stand at a booth.
[Vincent could admit the first few ideas for what kind of booth it might be didn't endear him to the idea either. Certainly not making him consider it anymore than he otherwise would have.]
Re: [somewhere in town]
That's right. [she's a little more settled, at least?] Well… for morale! Lady Lisette isn't here, so it's just me as a representative of House Valentione… [does the rest of the House even know Lady Lisette employed such an adventurer? who knows. though they're back in Eorzea, of course, anyhow.] And I think having a pair of us standing there should see sales increase!
[she's doing chocolates, mostly.]
Re: [somewhere in town]
House Valentione? [Clear in the questioning tone that he had no idea what she was speaking of.] My apologies, Miss Tohka. I do not know, nor am I affiliated with, this house. It would not be proper to stand and help you, in this situation.
[First gambit made, as Vincent was still trying to be 'polite' about saying no. Blunt would come in time if needed.]
Re: [somewhere in town]
I… didn't expect so, to tell the truth. They're a house of Ishgard, back in Eorzea- dedicated to spreading ardor and affection.
[she tilts her head, eyebrows rising a little.]
… House Valentione employed me, and I am but one among many adventurers. [well, technically there's the Warrior of Light business, but that didn't come into play, really. More to the point, a lot of Ishgard has been biased against outsiders for quite some time, so one of the Houses reaching out might still surprise some people.] Besides- is it proper to leave a lady in her time of need?
[…k'pandolu please.]
Re: [somewhere in town]
Don't think he also hasn't noticed that eyebrow raise or the gambit she just played.]
That's as it may be, but you also have not given me any idea of what your need might be. Simply standing in one place at a booth hardly places higher than not falsely claiming to be a part of a noble house.
[Two can play that word game. :-p People treat impersonation of nobles seriously and he isn't going to do that w/o a darn good reason.]
Re: [somewhere in town]
Of course not.]
Ah, is that all that's standing in the way? […the need part, at least.] I simply wished to have your company with me at the booth, and in case I needed to… leave, for a time. Whether that places higher or not… [she hesitates, biting her lip for a moment before she straightens.] I would not wish to make false claims, though I can well see why people might come to that conclusion…
[…and of course it was the name that drew her to ask this. She taps her fingers against her chin, forehead creasing.]
If I were asked, I would say that I were acting in accordance with the wishes of the House. For that, there's no need to be related.
[but people might still draw the conclusion that he ought to belong to them. She's offered that, but she's still trying to think of something better.]
Re: [somewhere in town]
Perhaps. But I am also hardly suitable company in that I have an obligations of my own today that mean I would not be able to stand with you for periods of time.
[Work, then hiding at home or the gun-range away from this blasted day. Those count as 'obligations' right? Your move suncat!]
Re: [somewhere in town]
Obligations…? [she tilts her head to the side, gaze considering. Vincent didn't seem the type to let go of the past so easily, so-] What manner of obligations are these?
[if they are other than emotional, she's going to be very disappointed in him.]
Re: [somewhere in town]
My company has already been requested for this day, aside from my work shift.
[Spoken for, so to speak--even if it was Yuffie not wanting to be alone, more than anything else. Vincent got it, and she had asked him to keep her company for the day...]
Re: [somewhere in town]
And so you've not even half a bell free?
Re: [somewhere in town]
Sadly no. But I wish you luck on your efforts, Miss Tohka.
Re: [somewhere in town]
All happiness to you and your companion this Valentione's, ser Valentine.
[and she offers him a bow in return before turning to head off, presumably to the booth.]
