What: It's Valentine's Day, and there are matchmaking notices everywhere. Here's an open log for one and all to post their shenanigans, meet ups, freak outs, and whatever else they're going to do about this.
When: forward dated to Feb. 14
Where: All over Aqures Ixen
Warnings: Ridiculousness.

[Plastering the city are notices matching up all of the Heroes of Light with one another, both the best and the worst. Moogles are having a grand old time handing them out and hanging them up, and are encouraging Heroes to speak with their top matches.

Naturally, reactions to this are mixed. Some Heroes are intrigued, some annoyed, some offended. Despite their feelings or misgivings, the rest of the city is still celebrating Valentine's Day as well, and now the thoughts of love are everywhere.

[ Tear's roommates were the last people on the list of people Ace wished to see involved, if anybody at all, regardless of how he felt about them. There was this one... night spent in their basement that he preferred to avoid mentioning in their presence, but otherwise, it was nothing personal, even if Jade's tone just now suggested that it could change sooner than the boy expected.

It's difficult to say whether Hanafuda has made it easy enough to guess, or Jade is, in fact, aware of Tear's real name, and that's the reason he jumps into the conversation so quickly. Way too quickly, for Ace's tastes, the cadet suppressing a small gasp. ]

... Randomized results. None of these mean anything.

[ There, he tries to put on a face of a valiant soldier despite the subtle redness that's creeping upon his cheeks as he speaks. ]

[The glint in Jade's eyes makes it very clear he's aware of certain someone's frequent visits to their apartment. Credit where it's due, they had managed to avoid both Jade and Anise quite skillfully... which was probably a wise move, all things considered. He is very, very curious about Tear's young man.

True, the vision of the rift incident makes things a little awkward... but there are times when one must overcome their guilty conscience for the sake of being a nosy old man.]

Hahaha, I should hope so! I would hate to have any reason for jealousy~

[...He's not very clear about who exactly would be feeling jealous, him or Ace. Or what he's even talking about, for that matter.]

[ In a way, it's nothing more but an instance of applying battle tactics to one's life - when your defense is also your lowest stat, you've gotta step up your dodging game. Especially dealing with such a... clash of generations. Though Ace can't say he hasn't been forewarned, and the trip to Mysidia was an experience on its own, being directly confronted about personal matters is yet something else. ]

Ah. [ Rather than anything, though, this is being incredibly confusing. The truth might be out there, but he hasn't had the chance to see other posters yet, and he completely disregards Jade's name on his own list. ]

Are you certain you have the right person? I don't think I follow.

[ He would have almost preferred to be asked outright instead of having to figure out the meaning behind the ominous laugh. ]

Oh, I just thought it was amusing. [Jade casually whips out his flyer -- was he holding it behind his back the whole time? -- and hands it over to Ace.] I seem to have had more luck than you.

[There is Tear's name at the top of his list, with 99%, no less. Rubbing it in Ace's face may be a little unkind, but he's interested to see how the boy will react. You can learn a lot of about a person by embarrassing them in public.]

But of course, as you said, it is randomized. Still, it's quite the coincidence, isn't it?

[ It's not without a certain dose of wariness that he accepts the piece of paper, as evident in the questioning frown he directs at Jade before lowering his gaze to the poster in his hands. Not that he really needs to read it; if only, he does so to let the ink confirm his suspicions. ]

... It is. [ He admits in a dry tone after a moment of silence. ] And with all due respect—...

[ Even the blush returning in all its sneaky glory doesn't deter the boy from staring right back at Jade as he hands back the flyer. While he might be inexperienced in the matters of love, growing up alongside eleven siblings has taught him how to recognize an obvious attempt at teasing. ]

Instead of dancing around the subject, I'd much prefer knowing what is the real point you're trying to make here.
