Intro Log || Melodies of Eternity

Characters: All the "Heroes of Light" (only new characters can start threads).
Where: Aqures Ixen.
When: The 5th of March. The new Heroes of Light will awaken early in the morning.
Summary: The new Heroes of Light awaken in Aqures Ixen and are informed by their assigned Moogles of what the situation and what their destinies are. This a log for them to react to the situation, meet each other and be welcomed by the former batches of Heroes of Light.
Warning: Lots of distressed and depressed Heroes of Light.

Where you were or what you were doing— It does not really matter. Not any more. Within an instant, the world around you collapses. Reality twists and shatters... Or maybe you are the one who is collapsing and shattering away from reality as you knew it. No matter what the answer is, it will only take a few seconds for you to find yourself sinking into a void, your world vanishing into the distance. There is nothing but darkness as far as the eye can see. Even you feel different: all the powers you might once have had, are now gone. It is silent, cold and it feels as though life itself is slipping out of you.

At this moment, when it looks as though nothing but a never-ending void awaits you, a red Crystal forms before you. In this void, its warmth compels you to grab it. Upon doing so, you can hear a soft, soothing voice speaking:

"Wake up."

Soon, the void itself vanishes and is replaced by distant noises of engines. Had it all been nothing more than a dream? The soothing voice repeats its call one more time, but is soon replaced with a much less graceful "Wake up Kupo." Hand clutched on your Crystal, the call of the Moogle may finally wake you up. But you are no longer in your world, nor in the void. You are before the Crystal of Fire, in the third district of a city called Aqures Ixen. At this point, you may realize the engine noise actually originates from an Airship flying low over the city and headed to dock beneath the castle. As if it wasn't strange enough, your clothes have changed as well. They are now a reflection of the Jobs you are wielding. Last but not least, you are surrounded by Moogles, small and fluffy creatures who are more than happy to tell you about everything you want to know, about your 'destiny' as a Hero of Light, about what awaits you.

Or at least, they will tell you everything they do know, which isn't much in the end.

The only people around you are like you-- There are quite a few of them, all clothed in their Job garbs and most likely wondering what is happening. If somehow you do not realize it, the Moogle who woke you up will be more than happy to inform you there are others like you around. In fact, there are other Heroes who have arrived in the course of the past year and they will come soon! Like you, they have Jobs and a Crystal.

If asked, the Moogles will mention that the Heroes of Light - that is to say you - are fighting against time to save Crystallis from the Calamity that is about to awaken to devour the entire world. Well, that is if you don't die or crystallize first. A couple days ago, a lot of Heroes of Light crystallized or died out of the blue without any warning! Sounds terrible? Welcome to Crystallis.

The Other Heroes
— Shortly Thereafter —
Thanks to the efficiency of Mognet, it does not take long for the other Heroes to come around: those who arrived in this world within the past year. You may have imagined heroic and charismatic figures when your Moogle told you that there were other Heroes of Light in this city. You may have imagined persons with fearsome powers when they told you about how they managed to push back the Empire and defeat gigantic beasts in the past. And more importantly, you may have imagined them as people who would have all the answers to your, doubtlessly, numerous questions.

If so, you may be up for a tragic disappointment. Still, for the most part they know more than you on the situation and may be more than happy to fill you in, especially if your Moogle didn't tell you much.

The City of Aqures Ixen
— Anytime —
With Choco Egg day nearing, there are a lot fo Hypello working on the upcoming competitions and on making chocolates! Want to eat some? Too bad, the Moogles will hit you with the stick they use to make the chocolate if you try to eat them!

And besides the chocolates, there are a lot of things to do in the city for newcomers. Moogles are working hard in Mognet Office of the ninth district following the election of their new director, and while there are no Blitzball Matches today, a lot of Triple Triad players are gathered at the stadium. Why? Because they are working on the early preparations for the Triple Triad World Championship that will happen in May! Characters are also free to visit the city-- They can visit Airship Port in the twelfth district from where characters can board for free Airships from Shoopuf Airline.

Or maybe you could visit your new house in the 11th District, and get to know your new neighbors and housemate. Hopefully your neighbors are people you will get along with.

The Laboratory
— Anytime —
A location where a lot of Heroes of Light seem to be gathering is Palitutu's Laboratory. It is a place where employed characters can research into various topics. However, most importantly, characters can see a file with their name...

Should your character decide to go there and peek at their file, there are two possibilities. Either the file is corrupted and they cannot access it: too bad for them, but at least their life will remain a mystery. Or should you decide the file isn't corrupted, they will find a summary of their lives up to their canon point, as if written by a third-person omniscient narrator. On the column left to the text, to the top there is a portrait of them, and beneath it there is a 3D model of them. Said portrait and model can be switched to any year of their life. At the bottom there is a percentage, indicating 0%. On the right column, there are various links, most of which are grayed out. The clickable links lead to their Homeworld History and their future post-canon point history (corrupted file for unfinished canons).

At least, they can lock this file away if they don't want anyone to see it.

The Hospital
— Anytime —
Characters who have already been in Crystallis before do not wake up by the Crystal of Fire like everyone else. Instead, they will wake up in the Hospital of Aqures Ixen, in a room where there are over a hundred of other Heroes of Light like them-- Maybe even some familiar faces... Except they're all in Crystal Stasis.

A few Moogles and nurses will be waiting by the room, and they will welcome all characters waking up. However...

Upon exiting the room, they will find the Hospital is very busy. Nurses and healers can be seen moving corpses around on stretchers, and overall a very dark and tense atmosphere reigns over the Hospital. In closed rooms, some of the most skilled healers are trying to analyze the corpses and find out what happened. And these dead people? They are of the Heroes of Light who died on the 29th of February.

Melodies of Eternity
— Anytime —
If you are a Hero of Light who survived that accursed day, your crystal will shine at the very same moment the new Heroes appear before the Crystal of Fire. That means your character is now linked to the Crystal of Fire and will come back to life after a week if killed.

They will also receive their Moogle and their housing in the 11th or 14th District. But that probably isn't enough for the pain to go away.

[There's a voice and a white crystal in the distance urging her to claim the crystal, to wake up from a long dream. The perky brunette begs her legs to work a little harder before she finally grabs the crystal.

FLASH.

A blindingly bright light envelopes Selphie Tilmitt as she opens her eyes and stares into the face of a moogle? The girl looks up with a dazed look before wriggling her toes in her boots. Synapses are firing a mile a minute at the new sensory information before she sits up and looks around.

She's in a plain room, decorated with an overabdundance of statues that look oddly like something out of a fairy tale.]

What's going on...?

That's easy, kupo. You're in the hospital after waking up from Crystal Stasis, kupo.

[Selphie looks at the moogle, who introduces herself as Jaelyn. The duo play a quick round of twenty questions before the girl nods carefully. It's a lot to process as Selphie moves to leave the room. It's too quiet. Too sterile.

It's a stark contrast to the chaos that's going on outside the room. There's bodies everywhere and not all of them are in good shape. It reminds Selphie of what happened when she got to Trabia and a dark pit of worry forms in Selphie's belly. An order to get out of the way shakes her from her thoughts before the cries for help fill her head.

Jaelyn mentions an incident of some kind and tries to explain but Selphie's not listening. Her eyes are wide, absorbing the nightmare before her, wishing that she could make it all better. She would make it all go away if she could. The perky brunette stuffs her shaking hands in her pockets before she's hightailing it from the hospital.

Once she's a fair distance from the hospital, Selphie dictates a quick message to Jaelyn. The perky brunette puts on a brave face as she forces the cheer.]

Hey! It's Selphie and uh... looks like I missed something pretty bad. I hope everybody's okay.

But, um... I'm back! I'm looking for some familiar faces or handwriting or something.

So... Hi all!

[Anyone who stumbles across Selphie will find her staring in the direction of the hospital with a haunted look in her eyes.]

Well, well if it isn't Sunshine!

[ Let's face it, Yuri's not really good at expression loss very well and it's been a hell of a long time since he's seen Selphie. Heck, he didn't even know if the girl remembered him but what the hell right? He's doing better than most people right now so he's not going to complain about it. Selphie could see the long haired swordsman walking towards her with his arm up in greeting.

The only difference is that by his side was a canine, with a large pipe in its mouth, seemingly intrigued by the girl that Yuri seemed to call to casually. Of course, he's never seen her since Repede was given back to him after all the things he suffered to get the dog. Now the two were possibly inseparable. Flynn might actually be happy to see the hyperactive girl as well.

With all the things going on he's been pretty much on his guard and spending his time gathering information to the best of his abilities. Yuri also sported his natural attire that he wore in his world, a dark colored outfit with purple in it. He was fairly damn happy with that. ]

[Familiar face and remembered. Selphie's sporting the attire of a Red Mage again and she can't wait to ditch the hat as she beamed at Yuri and waved back.]

And the Captain is still around, I see. Looks like some things have happened since I was here.

[Selphie spots Repede and part of her is instantly going "WHEE PUPPY!" The other part of her knows that dogs can smell things as she crouches down and extends her arm. Her hand is open for sniffing, palm facing upwards.]

Who's this?

It appears to be a dog.

[Selphie blew some raspberries in the direction of her moogle before focusing back on Repede.]

Hello! I've never seen a dog with a pipe before but it gives you character.

Lots of things Sunshine.

[ He replied with a big grin on his face. He stopped in front of her with Repede. He's pretty sure she hadn't seen the dog before since she went into the Crystal Stasis way before he got Repede back. ]

Captain now huh? I kind of like the sound of that.

[ There's a smug look his face when she addressed him. ]

Repede. He's a friend from home.

[ He when asked. ] And that's right, he's sort of a dog.

[ Repede looked at the girl and moved away from her when she offered her hand to him. It takes him a while to adjust to people. Selphie was a strange thus he moved away after sniffing almost automatically. ]

He's kinda antisocial. He's one character alright.

Well, I'm sure you can fill me in at some point.

[Selphie's right up in Yuri's face, using her index fingers to smoosh up that smug look. Take Selphie's actions as a silent command to smile more.]

Repede, huh? Well, we'll just have to get used to each other. I was never allowed to have a pet when I was younger so...

[She smiles warmly at Repede, her mentioning of him being a pet very innocent.]

It's nice to meet you, Repede! We're gonna hafta keep our buddy here in check.

It'd have to be over a drink if you're not underage-- or something else.

[ He replied with a chuckle as the girl got all up in his personal space. All he did was look down at her. He moves to remove her index fingers fro doing that to his smug expression. No can do Selphie. ]

He's anti-social. Don't get too offended if he doesn't like you right away. He's deterred a lot of other people too.

[ He replied waving his hand a bit. Repede only proceeded to move away from her even more at that comment and her hyperactive tone of course earned a snort from the dog. ]

[Stated quite flatly:] I'm seventeen, Yuri. Teenage badass, possibly but not allowed to drink.

[Not that it stopped her from experimenting a few times at Garden but that is neither here nor there. All the while, Yuri has pushed her fingers away and is still giving her that smug look as she shrugs her shoulders.]

I can deal with anti-social types. One of my best friends is anti-social so I've got tons of patience in that respect.

[She giggles at Repede's snort.] Looks like I'm not earning many points right now... If at first you don't succeed try, try again?

[ He shrugged some. ]

That's a damn shame.

[ He replied as he crossed his arms. ]

Guess you'll have apple juice. I'll buy you some dinner or something.

[ He added before looking in the general direction. Probably the best time to get somewhere and chat. ]

Sounds like you got it all figured out. Good luck.

[ Yuri chuckled at her words. ]

He'll get around to it. Like I said, he's not fond of strangers. Something like that.

[Yuffie is at the hospital to check and see if anyone has woken up or if there is any progress on finding out what happened. Specifically she's interested in those she knew but her curiosity often pulls her all over the place. When she leaves she notices Selphie standing out front with her eyes cast back at the daunting building.

Dark almond eyes flash knowingly as she steps up next to the girl. Her lips curl into a friendly smile having seen Selphie before.]

Looks like you made it.

[Yuffie tries to smile.]

It's good to see you. Are you okay?

[Selphie always fakes it when she can't bring herself to smile and is exactly what she's doing right now. She's all sunshine and lollipops on the outside as she recognizes the silhouette of the girl approaching her.

Man, these two troublemakers seem to meet at the worst times.]

I'm back.

[The smile becomes guarded, the haunted look still in her eyes.]

I'll be fine. [The closest admission to not being okay that anyone is likely to get.]

Just... what the hell happened?

A lot.

[Yuffie can tell that she doesn't want to talk about it and some details Yuffie isn't to keen on talking about either.]

What was the last thing you remember? I can think of a short version.

[Probably.]

I hadn't noticed.

[Selphie's not too keen on the loss of life. As for the last thing she remembered...]

The last thing I remember is going to bed one night and then I wake up to a new moogle, [she points to Jaelyn.] whose name is Jaelyn and then kapow! I wake up in a hospital full of other crystal people and...

It's super mega creepy.

[Yuffie has to stop herself from rolling her eyes. She inhales a cool breath of air before exhaling once more.]

Okay, not what I meant. I mean... what month was it or where were you. I don't know about the moogle they don't usually change.

[Since the moogles live in Cyrstallis they just go home when their hero goes into Stasis, though Mooshoo apparently stayed by Yuffie's side the week she turned to crystal.]

[Whoops. Selphie looks a tad bit more embarrassed than she likes to be as her hands find their ways back into the pockets of her jacket.]

Oh. I think it was early Summer? I think the Moogles were on strike around that time.

We go on strike a lot, kupo.

[Selphie sticks her tongue out at Jaelyn.]

It's kinda fuzzy right now to be honest.

[Link had awoken as well, feeling both simultaneously rested and worrisome. There hadn't been any one around him when he had come back to join the other heroes, and though normally he would have a multitude of questions running through his head, the Skyloftian could only focus on one thing.

As he walks from the Hospital, still slightly dazed in his thinking, the supposed Hero catches sight of a familiar face that he had not seen in some time. It took a few tries for the name to click in his head, his mental thumb struggling to catch the spark on his memory lighter. Slowly he approaches, raising a hand in greeting to catch the attention of the young woman.]

Miss Selphie? Selphie is your name, right?

[Selphie recognizes the voice of the person calling out to her and gave Link a warm smile as she waved back at him. The big question on her mind left her wondering what had happened to have that many people in the hospital at once? It was concerning for her because of her past history with disasters but that would have to wait.

For now, she'll focus on the person in front of her. What was his name again...?]

That's me! Back in town to help with the Calamity. Let's get it done so everybody can live in peace!

It's nice to see you again...

[Be a bro and refresh her memory!]

Uhh-..

[He blinks his eyes, looking at her in bemusement as she doesn't finish her words. He sighs, just before clearing his throat, giving her the answer she seeks without directly asking.]

Link. It's Link. No.. No need to worry. I haven't made myself all that available to most people here. It's no surprise that people wouldn't remember my name.

[He brushes away the awkwardness by moving an open hand over the tip of his nose, averting his eyes to look elsewhere while keeping the conversation going.]

Speaking of the Calamity, I wonder how much worse it is now, or if the Heroes have stopped it altogether. You've been out a lot longer than I have, I imagine. What's the last thing you remember before waking up?

I was getting ready to go to bed and I'd said good night to my housemates before falling asleep.

[Selphie turns her back on the hospital, not wanting to look at the place any longer. She stuffs her hands into the pockets on her pants before wandering off.]

I dunno though, Link. Wouldn't we still be in that crystal if it were stopping? Maybe we should find someone who can fill us in. Oh, I know! Why don't we find Zelda? Maybe she knows something.

[All the same, it makes Selphie genuinely curious about how long its really been.]

How long has it been?

[It wasn't as if he were avoiding her, but a part of Link was reluctant to see the woman Selphie names. His heart yearns to see her, but he's more than certain that she's going to have some choice words for his being trapped in crystal.]

It can't be that long, but a lot can happen here in just a few short days. I doubt it's been any more than a few weeks.. Though, you've been out for some time before I was in stasis.

[He follows behind her, saddling up besides her as he keeps a foot or so between them.]

Zelda's as informed as they get.. But I suppose our moogles wouldn't be a bad choice of information, either.

[Selphie blinks, taken back by the statement of her absence.]

Was I gone that long? It really only feels like I've been asleep for a couple days... And that's nothing compared to some of the SeeD missions from back home. I could've slept for a whole week after some of them.

[Selphie looks at Link curiously, barely picking up on what he's saying but she doesn't push the topic.]

[Rukia is stiff and sore all over. White Magic took care of the most severe injuries, but it'll probably take another day for her body to get used to being not on fire and not being chewed up like a wad of meaty gum.]

[Just as she shuffles a couple of feet past Selphie, the Moogle turns and hands her a copy of the letter that was dictated. Rukia blinks at it, stunned. Usually she sees the Moogles fly in when she gets a letter directly. She looks at the letter, then at Selphie.]

Er...should I open this now, or later?

[If it's important, then she wouldn't want to waste time getting down to business.]

[Selphie's lost in thought when she hears Rukia's voice nearby. She wasn't expecting a person to receive her letter that quickly as she snaps out of her reverie.

Selphie waves her hands in front of her before shooting a curious look at her new moogle.]

Uh... whenever's convenient for you. I've been outta commission for a while from what I've been told so... I was kinda hoping that it might reach the hands of a guy named Yuri or Flynn...

Oh? Both swordsmen, one blonde, the other with long dark hair?

[This is a surprise. Perhaps this is Estelle, or Rita, or Judith. ...Or not, since the letter mentioned that the author's name was 'Selphie.' Regardless, she folds her arms proudly with a smile.]

They live in the same house as I do. I can see to the delivery personally, if you wish. Rukia Kuchiki.

[She unfolds an arm to extend a hand in greeting.]

Welcome back to Crystallis.

[Selphie nods with a broad, sunny grin on her face. This was exactly the type of news that she was hoping to hear. It would've been better coming from the sources directly but Selphie's not complaining.]

Really?! [Selphie reaches out and shakes Rukia's hand.] Selphie Tilmitt.

[The greeting is met with a perplexed look as she points back at the hospital with her free hand.]

Uh... thanks?

Certainly. It's no trouble at all.

[Rukia follows where Selphie is pointing, and frowns slightly. It does seem like each of them wakes up in that place sooner or later. It's a wonder Rukia hasn't had a turn yet.]
