Intro Log || Melodies of Eternity

Characters: All the "Heroes of Light" (only new characters can start threads).
Where: Aqures Ixen.
When: The 5th of March. The new Heroes of Light will awaken early in the morning.
Summary: The new Heroes of Light awaken in Aqures Ixen and are informed by their assigned Moogles of what the situation and what their destinies are. This a log for them to react to the situation, meet each other and be welcomed by the former batches of Heroes of Light.
Warning: Lots of distressed and depressed Heroes of Light.

Where you were or what you were doing— It does not really matter. Not any more. Within an instant, the world around you collapses. Reality twists and shatters... Or maybe you are the one who is collapsing and shattering away from reality as you knew it. No matter what the answer is, it will only take a few seconds for you to find yourself sinking into a void, your world vanishing into the distance. There is nothing but darkness as far as the eye can see. Even you feel different: all the powers you might once have had, are now gone. It is silent, cold and it feels as though life itself is slipping out of you.

At this moment, when it looks as though nothing but a never-ending void awaits you, a red Crystal forms before you. In this void, its warmth compels you to grab it. Upon doing so, you can hear a soft, soothing voice speaking:


"Wake up."

Soon, the void itself vanishes and is replaced by distant noises of engines. Had it all been nothing more than a dream? The soothing voice repeats its call one more time, but is soon replaced with a much less graceful "Wake up Kupo." Hand clutched on your Crystal, the call of the Moogle may finally wake you up. But you are no longer in your world, nor in the void. You are before the Crystal of Fire, in the third district of a city called Aqures Ixen. At this point, you may realize the engine noise actually originates from an Airship flying low over the city and headed to dock beneath the castle. As if it wasn't strange enough, your clothes have changed as well. They are now a reflection of the Jobs you are wielding. Last but not least, you are surrounded by Moogles, small and fluffy creatures who are more than happy to tell you about everything you want to know, about your 'destiny' as a Hero of Light, about what awaits you.

Or at least, they will tell you everything they do know, which isn't much in the end.

The only people around you are like you-- There are quite a few of them, all clothed in their Job garbs and most likely wondering what is happening. If somehow you do not realize it, the Moogle who woke you up will be more than happy to inform you there are others like you around. In fact, there are other Heroes who have arrived in the course of the past year and they will come soon! Like you, they have Jobs and a Crystal.

If asked, the Moogles will mention that the Heroes of Light - that is to say you - are fighting against time to save Crystallis from the Calamity that is about to awaken to devour the entire world. Well, that is if you don't die or crystallize first. A couple days ago, a lot of Heroes of Light crystallized or died out of the blue without any warning! Sounds terrible? Welcome to Crystallis.


The Other Heroes
— Shortly Thereafter —
Thanks to the efficiency of Mognet, it does not take long for the other Heroes to come around: those who arrived in this world within the past year. You may have imagined heroic and charismatic figures when your Moogle told you that there were other Heroes of Light in this city. You may have imagined persons with fearsome powers when they told you about how they managed to push back the Empire and defeat gigantic beasts in the past. And more importantly, you may have imagined them as people who would have all the answers to your, doubtlessly, numerous questions.

If so, you may be up for a tragic disappointment. Still, for the most part they know more than you on the situation and may be more than happy to fill you in, especially if your Moogle didn't tell you much.


The City of Aqures Ixen
— Anytime —
With Choco Egg day nearing, there are a lot fo Hypello working on the upcoming competitions and on making chocolates! Want to eat some? Too bad, the Moogles will hit you with the stick they use to make the chocolate if you try to eat them!

And besides the chocolates, there are a lot of things to do in the city for newcomers. Moogles are working hard in Mognet Office of the ninth district following the election of their new director, and while there are no Blitzball Matches today, a lot of Triple Triad players are gathered at the stadium. Why? Because they are working on the early preparations for the Triple Triad World Championship that will happen in May! Characters are also free to visit the city-- They can visit Airship Port in the twelfth district from where characters can board for free Airships from Shoopuf Airline.

Or maybe you could visit your new house in the 11th District, and get to know your new neighbors and housemate. Hopefully your neighbors are people you will get along with.


The Laboratory
— Anytime —
A location where a lot of Heroes of Light seem to be gathering is Palitutu's Laboratory. It is a place where employed characters can research into various topics. However, most importantly, characters can see a file with their name...

Should your character decide to go there and peek at their file, there are two possibilities. Either the file is corrupted and they cannot access it: too bad for them, but at least their life will remain a mystery. Or should you decide the file isn't corrupted, they will find a summary of their lives up to their canon point, as if written by a third-person omniscient narrator. On the column left to the text, to the top there is a portrait of them, and beneath it there is a 3D model of them. Said portrait and model can be switched to any year of their life. At the bottom there is a percentage, indicating 0%. On the right column, there are various links, most of which are grayed out. The clickable links lead to their Homeworld History and their future post-canon point history (corrupted file for unfinished canons).

At least, they can lock this file away if they don't want anyone to see it.

The Hospital
— Anytime —
Characters who have already been in Crystallis before do not wake up by the Crystal of Fire like everyone else. Instead, they will wake up in the Hospital of Aqures Ixen, in a room where there are over a hundred of other Heroes of Light like them-- Maybe even some familiar faces... Except they're all in Crystal Stasis.

A few Moogles and nurses will be waiting by the room, and they will welcome all characters waking up. However...

Upon exiting the room, they will find the Hospital is very busy. Nurses and healers can be seen moving corpses around on stretchers, and overall a very dark and tense atmosphere reigns over the Hospital. In closed rooms, some of the most skilled healers are trying to analyze the corpses and find out what happened. And these dead people? They are of the Heroes of Light who died on the 29th of February.


Melodies of Eternity
— Anytime —
If you are a Hero of Light who survived that accursed day, your crystal will shine at the very same moment the new Heroes appear before the Crystal of Fire. That means your character is now linked to the Crystal of Fire and will come back to life after a week if killed.

They will also receive their Moogle and their housing in the 11th or 14th District. But that probably isn't enough for the pain to go away.

[Lust sits on a bench. Her legs are crossed, her chin is propped up in her hand, her elbow on her knees. There's a look of idle tranquility on her lovely face, her spear propped up beside her. Beneath her other hand, her crystal shines quietly. Her Moogle had already come to deliver the key to her new home, introduce herself, and then leave. Lust knew most of the rest already.]

[So the city decided to accept her, did it? Seems unwise, considering the others who didn't receive the same protection, but Lust has no complaints. She's starting to get used to being alive, and now that she has her freedom, there are a few things she'd like to do.]

[Like slaughter every single one of the cultists in cold blood. But that comes later~]

[For now she just wants to watch and get herself better acquainted with the people who live here, since they're now her comrades.]


House B-05

[So this is where she lives? How...quaint. It looks an awful lot like the home of a happy family, so it isn't really what Lust was expecting. But it's nice.]

[She doesn't bother knocking. She lives here, so of course she's going to walk in like she owns the place. Because she does. It's just a matter of who gets what room at this point. Lust would rather not share, but she'll consider it depending on who the roommate is.]

[...Hopefully one of them knows how to cook, because that is not a skill Lust ever bothered to learn. She still needs to do some light shopping to get herself settled, and she'd like to head out to the plains to kill a few monsters too. Perhaps some of her new roommates would like to go with her.]

[You want someone who knows how to cook? You're going to want to look further than Aya, who is more liable to burn the kitchen than fix you a gourmet welcoming meal.

[In fact, she's just waking herself up when she finds her new roommate showing up at her door. She was thinking about getting ready for work. It isn't exactly her shift but she figures she could get a little overtime in.

[That's when she stops and notices that she isn't alone.

[Thankfully, she decided to get dressed rather than stepping out of her bedroom in her pajamas. That would've been awkward.]

Um... hello? [Aya was rubbing her eye with the back of her right hand when she stops and stares at the new face across the room of her house.]

[ Mikleo was extremely confused with the outcome of what had happened, however he was grateful to see that Lust was not hurt in any way. He made his way towards her. Ever since the strange phenomenon happened, he was able to be a resident of this city and be able to do things.

Though, the smack in the face didn't help, since the moogle seemed to remind him of a specific someone. He was content at least with the way the moogle treated him. She was kind and gentle, warm and wise. She was able to let him know many things when he was assigned to her. ]

Lust.

[ He walked over to her giving her a greeting as he did. ]

[A finger brushed over the point of his left ear, relieving him of a minor itch as the wind tussled his hair while he walked. It had been what seemed like an age since he'd last seen the Crystal in the city's center, stopping just shy of a bench to his left as he stood in solitary thought while gazing at the large gem.

A hand holds steady to the sword at his side, free from the sheath as he'd awoken from the stasis with it in his grasp. Without a sheath, the shine of bright silver catches in the mid-day Sun, gleaming brightly as it shifts in his grasp with his mind elsewhere in thought.

Not knowing that there was some one close by, the young man begins to speak to himself, letting his thoughts be vocalized in hopes that they might be easier to answer when heard aloud.]

How much has changed since I left? Zelda.. Is she doing alright? And the Calamity. Have the Heroes done anything to keep it from consuming more of this world?

[A shallow shy escapes him as he turns his left shoulder to turn around, catching the raven-haired female sitting there within earshot of his musings.]

Oh! S-Sorry about that! I didn't know any one was sitting near!

[Zelda has been around long enough to spot another Hero of Light even if she hasn't met them formally. There are signs and ways to tell, not only the way they acted but the way their eyes took in this world. It's all different but it's the stare of someone watching as if detached. At times it's a subtle look however this woman looks as if she's watching very much like a bird of prey.

Her breath fell heavily from her lips in soft puffs as her brilliant blue eyes fix on the woman. She has spotted just short of her knowing that the crystal of fire is a well passed landmark in the city.]

Have you seen a boy walk through here? Light brown hair and ears like mine?

[She pushes the thick golden curtain of hair to the side revealing her long pointed ears.]

[dragging around party supplies for the tavern brawl festivities, Flynn may have bitten off a bit more than he could chew as he sighs in frustration as a bag ripped open, making streamers and ribbons fall apart, rolling about haphazardly. Just his luck. Placing his other bags down, he chases after the decorations in a futile attempt as they get dirtier and dirtier.]

Out on the Plains? (Anything else that is)

[The monsters closest to the city-outskirts on the Calm Plains were...far too hunted. Unless they came in a pack, they were easily dispatched by most Heroes training their job-skills. This time, Vincent was out seeking to practice the skills of his secondary-job, so groups and weaker-enemies were preferred, given he was intentionally not using his primary skills. Mostly because he was conserving ammunition; so when he did encounter an enemy or two, rather than shoot and stay in the distance, he was relying more on the Ninja's Job-skill set, along with hand-to-hand.

The gauntlet on his left arm, claws covering his fingers, wasn't simply for show. Sabatons covering his feet also meant that kicks hurt more than simply a leather boot would normally. As needed, the darker-man was using his gun--but from up-close IN the melee. Again, a way to conserve ammunition and engage in practice for a variety of situations.]

No Thieves Allowed!

[The Moogles are not alone in their defense against chocolate-stealing addicts. Keiko isn't going to tolerate a single person trying to nab a free snack, especially since they can easily go buy their own if they've really got a craving.]

HEY! They said back off, so back off!

[The size of the person doesn't matter, though Keiko would be far more understanding and gentle about it if the thief is a kid, guiding them to run along and play and that they'd get their turn soon enough if they're good. But adults? They get no quarter.]

Can't you see how hard they're working? Don't stick your grimy fingers in there!

[The truly persistent, however, will receive one of Keiko's patented Slaps guaranteed to lay a person flat. Hopefully you were not this person and just observed her driving someone away.]

House B-03

[Holding the directions her Moogle gave her, Keiko makes her way down the street, occasionally checking the paper in her hand to ensure she's going the right way. Eventually she arrives at her new house. Well it seems nice enough on the outside. But how's the inside, she wonders. Will her roommates be clean, or slobs? Can they cook? Only one way to find out.]

[Stepping up on the front porch, Keiko knocks on the door.]

Anybody home? I was told that I would be living here. My name is Keiko Yukimura.

[She really hopes someone is home, otherwise she's just introducing herself to the front door.]

Fighter in Training

[Though Keiko has two mastered jobs, her combat experience is somewhat limited. Her fierce slaps could send a person flying, but throwing knives and shuriken? Definitely not something she ever considered herself doing!]

[So she heads to the training hall, testing out her swings against a wooden dummy. It makes her a little uncomfortable; fighting monsters with a knife is one thing, but fighting people? She's not sure she could ever harden herself to the point of killing a person. Why on earth did she get the Assassin job implanted on her crystal, then? It must have been a mistake.]

[But the weirdest part isn't just stabbing at things with more skill and accuracy than she should have. By far, the absolute weirdest thing she can do is walk on walls. Hesitantly she puts one boot on the wall, pushing against it with her weight. Then she jumps and quickly puts her other foot on the wall. Her arms stick out as she finds her center of balance quickly shifted, and she wobbles uncertainly. But she's on the wall. Keiko takes a few uncertain steps, then looks back over her shoulder. Yup, that's the ground all right. And her long brown hair hanging down tells her that this is why she shouldn't ever wear a skirt. Thank goodness for the leggings and the belt around her tunic, then.]

[Keiko walks a little further up the wall, trying to get used to the disorientation. Being able to walk on walls and ceilings could help out a lot in the right circumstance, so she'd better get used to it.]

B-03

It takes a minute for Jack to stumble his way to the door. He is moving very slowly, only recently returned from Mysidia where he and his team came back quite wounded after a fight.

Still, he puts on a smile when he opens the door. "Ah- welcome." Not someone that he met during the recent crisis, so he carefully steps out of the way to let her in. "Captain Jack Harkness, I'm not sure where our other roommate is at the moment."

The Hospital

[There's a voice and a white crystal in the distance urging her to claim the crystal, to wake up from a long dream. The perky brunette begs her legs to work a little harder before she finally grabs the crystal.

FLASH.

A blindingly bright light envelopes Selphie Tilmitt as she opens her eyes and stares into the face of a moogle? The girl looks up with a dazed look before wriggling her toes in her boots. Synapses are firing a mile a minute at the new sensory information before she sits up and looks around.

She's in a plain room, decorated with an overabdundance of statues that look oddly like something out of a fairy tale.]

What's going on...?

That's easy, kupo. You're in the hospital after waking up from Crystal Stasis, kupo.

[Selphie looks at the moogle, who introduces herself as Jaelyn. The duo play a quick round of twenty questions before the girl nods carefully. It's a lot to process as Selphie moves to leave the room. It's too quiet. Too sterile.

It's a stark contrast to the chaos that's going on outside the room. There's bodies everywhere and not all of them are in good shape. It reminds Selphie of what happened when she got to Trabia and a dark pit of worry forms in Selphie's belly. An order to get out of the way shakes her from her thoughts before the cries for help fill her head.

Jaelyn mentions an incident of some kind and tries to explain but Selphie's not listening. Her eyes are wide, absorbing the nightmare before her, wishing that she could make it all better. She would make it all go away if she could. The perky brunette stuffs her shaking hands in her pockets before she's hightailing it from the hospital.

Once she's a fair distance from the hospital, Selphie dictates a quick message to Jaelyn. The perky brunette puts on a brave face as she forces the cheer.]

Hey! It's Selphie and uh... looks like I missed something pretty bad. I hope everybody's okay.

But, um... I'm back! I'm looking for some familiar faces or handwriting or something.

So... Hi all!

[Anyone who stumbles across Selphie will find her staring in the direction of the hospital with a haunted look in her eyes.]

Well, well if it isn't Sunshine!

[ Let's face it, Yuri's not really good at expression loss very well and it's been a hell of a long time since he's seen Selphie. Heck, he didn't even know if the girl remembered him but what the hell right? He's doing better than most people right now so he's not going to complain about it. Selphie could see the long haired swordsman walking towards her with his arm up in greeting.

The only difference is that by his side was a canine, with a large pipe in its mouth, seemingly intrigued by the girl that Yuri seemed to call to casually. Of course, he's never seen her since Repede was given back to him after all the things he suffered to get the dog. Now the two were possibly inseparable. Flynn might actually be happy to see the hyperactive girl as well.

With all the things going on he's been pretty much on his guard and spending his time gathering information to the best of his abilities. Yuri also sported his natural attire that he wore in his world, a dark colored outfit with purple in it. He was fairly damn happy with that. ]

[11th District]
[Ed has been understandably been rattled since the 29th of February. Losing so many friends and allies in one fell swoop was terrifying. He'd gotten to like a lot of those folks. Now there were very few of his group left, and he doesn't know why he was lucky enough to be spared. He does a good job of covering it up, but catch him at the right time, and he'll look despondent and anxious.

Stranger still is that today, his crystal suddenly begins to shine bright enough that he could see it through his shirt pocket. Not too long after, he's greeted by a shy moogle who introduces herself as his new helper, Mogrissa, and about what's happened. Ed's not sure what to make of it.]

Linked to the Crystal of Fire... Is that a good thing or a bad thing?

[Laboratory]
[Ed is from a time before computers, so he's finding using these things to be a little confounding. He's managed to pull up his file, and is horrified by how thorough it is. There are all his secrets, just waiting to be scooped up and made off with! But for the life of him, he can barely use this thing, let alone figure out how to get the computer to lock it. He really doesn't want to, but he will turn to someone else in the lab for help.]

Hey, can you tell me how this thing works?

[His information is right there for anyone to sneak a peek at before he can lock it. But Ed's going to do his best to distract you from doing so while you try to help.]


[House B-05]
[Hello new housemates! The door is knocked on and then opened, and a disheveled-looking man enters, towing with him a backpack and a large cat at his heels. While he couldn't turn down the idea of free housing, Ed's never lived with roommates before, so this would be a new experience. Unless a cell mate counted. Which it really didn't.]

Hello? Anyone home?

B-05

[It just so happens to be that Aya is home at the time Ed arrives. She's emerging out of a once-burning kitchen, black smoke still pluming from the stove she had been using. Turns out her cooking efforts remain as sub par as ever.]

Y-yeah, just... hope you weren't planning to eat anytime soon.

[She then blinks at the unfamiliar man.] I'm sorry... Are you moving in?

[While she knows that she lost a few roommates recently, she didn't think she would be seeing any replacements anytime soon.]

A. Melodies of Eternity - The Library
It had been a week since that fateful day, yet Alisaie seldom ever seemed to leave the library in the hours it was open. Pouring through tome after tome as though possessed--as though the answer that eluded her could be found in their records. It had all gone down to the crystals, no doubt lingered in her mind about that, yet it had been so sudden. As if their times were simply up. Yet the other heroes had not vanished when they turned to crystal--nay, their crystallized forms could be found plain as day within the hospital. Yet those she'd fought beside, struggled to survive with...

Her heart ached as she clung to the white delta-shaped crystal in her free hand. Why would their lifeline--their anchor to this world--suddenly...?

The sudden glow startled her from her thoughts, and she grimaced--fearing the worst. Yet nothing seemed to occur. No sudden pain, save her emotional scarring, no shattering--only a glow that faded once more. "...Odd." She uttered under her breath, closing the current tome. There were no answers to be found here. She'd simply have to look elsewhere. Luckily she still had one stack of books to look through and was capable of translating them fluently.

B. Melodies of Eternity - ???
However with the sudden appearance of her moogle companion and his (rather loud) disapproval of her study habits, she was forced to leave the study halls and seek distractions elsewhere. A bit perturbed and being absolutely certain that the key to her new 'home' was securely in her satchel, she turned to glare at Kupna. "I am presently taking a break from my independent studies now, am I not?"

"T-that's not the point, kupo!" The moogle said, flustered. "It's just that I'm concerned, kupo!"

"I am fine, Kupna," she retorted, though a weary smile crossing her lips likely said elsewise. "Though I thank you for your kind words."

The two wander around together for a time, Kupna not really wanting to leave her unsupervised until she made her way to the housing districts. Though part of it may also be because he isn't entirely certain of his hero after the fiasco with two of them cheating with the elections.

C. Melodies of Eternity - Meeting the Housemates (B-04)
Honestly, she only wanted to get the living arrangements in order and rest. She had precious few material items to her name, after all; it would not be much of a problem for her regardless. She'd go shopping again at a later time, find more garments than the tattered scholar's robes and her current clothing. Maybe one of her new house mates would like to join her? She wouldn't know, nor mind. Honestly she could perhaps use the distraction.

A. Melodies of Eternity - The Library

Zelda came to the library often though it was usually to check out or return a few books before heading back to the old observatory which was where she spent most of her time. Over the past few days she's noticed the girl pouring over book after book searching for something within their dusty pages.

She knew what it was like to search for answers that sometimes couldn't be found. To work to hard that everything else slip away except for that one singular goal. She didn't know if it was the same for this girl but she wanted to do something anyway.

One day she paused at the girls table, her bright blue eyes glancing over the books as she closed her current tomb. "Here." She handed the woman a cup of hot chocolate with a warm smile. "I've noticed you've been working very hard. You should take breaks too."

After a pause she continued. "What are you looking for?"

At the Hospital

[Shards of crystal find their way to the floor as they begin to melt away from their source like ice on a frying pan. The shattering sound of the cracking material echoes briefly, before the cry of what sounds like agitation and unrest drowns out the minor din. The elongated noise of the young man's exhausted yawn is loud enough and wily enough to possibly raise the dead, or at least aide in raising him up from his own death-bed.]

AUUUUGGGGHH-!!

[Arms shoot straight over his head as a large, open grin spreads across his face like a tooth-filled bridge. A hand comes down to pat his stomach as the low-baratone rumble echoes like a grumpy oboe sounding off to usher in the feeling of hunger.]

That was a good nap! But.. Where's food? Hey! Is there a doctor here? Hey~! I need food here! Can some one get me some food!?

A-05

[The frame of the wooden door threatens to come off of its hinges, the repeated knocking of closed fists pounding against the heavy, solid entrance without ceasing. Feet shuttle about the dust covered earth below, pushing up a small cloud of dirt that raises to Luffy's knees as he looks as though he is running in place.]

BLOOM!! BLOO~M!! OPEN THE DOOR!!

[He didn't care about the neighbors, nor did he care if his shouting drew any attention. The person that he had been missing most had to be on the other side of the door that stood in his way, but what few manners he possessed were keeping him from breaking the slab of lumber off of the hinges on which it was hung.]

BLOOM!! BLOOM, ARE YOU THERE?!

Hospital

Jack is still sore and tired and thought that he would be taking today off in bed. White Magic healed his wounds, but he did just go toe to toe with the biggest T-Rex he's ever seen. He at least needs to get up for some food, and Mogwen is giving him a hard time.

When he slides on the coat, he can feel that something is different. Something about one of the items that he always keeps on him. The- card?

The card! That Luffy has the other half of! This can only mean one thing.

Jack rushes through the streets towards the Hospital, feeling the pull only stronger the closer he gets. Oh, is he happy to see Luffy again, but he stops just before the doors to the Crystalized Heroes Wing to compose himself. He has to play this cool, after all.

A casual, cocky smirk settles onto Jack's face as he strolls in. He looks at Luffy as if he has been expected this whole time. "You're almost late. If we hurry, we can still catch brunch, and I want stew."

After that day where several of their companions had departed from their sight, one Hero found herself wandering around the streets of Aqures Ixen trying to figure out what to do next. Minfilia did look at some of the tomes in the library but had the idea to try and look in other spots for any kind of clues as to why some suffered their fates and some like herself managed to stay in tact. Under her clothing, the crystal began to glow, making her stop and take notice. It startled her as she pulled it out, unaware of the moogle that was suddenly flying at full speed right behind her.

Who ended up crashing into the woman.

"K-Kupo! I'm so sorry! I-I-I was only meaning to welcome you!"

"It's quite alright." Minfilia attempted to soothe the poor creature. "You're not hurt are you?"


House B-04: Meeting New Faces?

After the moogle, calling herself Tataru (which Minfilia would admit made her double take and ask if that was her real name) explained about having a place to stay in the city, Minfilia had to take a look for herself. Being out in the wilderness and always moving around made her appreciate the small luxuries that life had to give. Like warm showers and beds. From what Tataru was saying, she was going to room with a few others but it didn't seem really bad.

All she could do now was knock on the door and speak to whoever answered. "Hello there, my friend here said that I would be living with you." Well, she was polite at least.

Hearing the squeak-noise of moogle and person colliding, Meteor looked up. Oh, it was the Scion leader.

For a moment, he debated on speaking up to her, and noticing his gaze, Moggle Mog poked him. "C'mon kupo, talk to her. She's a cutie, isn't she?"

Meteor spluttered. "Excuse me? Moggle Mog, I do say that's not right."

"What? That you don't want to talk to her being she's from your world, or that she's cute? What would Zelda think?"

Meteor scowled at his moogle before walking over. "Hail, pray hold a moment, good madam. You are Minfilia of the Scions, correct?"

The Crystal of Fire

His memory had become a bit fuzzy, like a layer of mist covering the morning ground. While he could see the sights in front of him, much of what laid beyond the short-range visions passing through his mind were accessible. The mixture of events that had yet to transpire, of holding his sword out at the Goddess, and events that were, it was hard for the Knight to make sense of much of it.

Instinctively he had exited the hospital upon his waking up from the encased tomb of crystal, making his way to the one location he could call upon in his addled mind. Standing before the crystal, the short gentleman of Skyloft looked longingly into the aging gem, the brief glimmer of light refracting off of the large source of magic in the waning sun as it began to lower into the distant horizon.

A heavy sigh causes his chest to rise. His last, lingering memory as far as he could tell had been from a future he had yet to live. His words to the one person he could not stop thinking of had been cold, calculated, emotion driven. It had been the sort of conversation befitting bitter rivals or enemies, a perspective in which he'd never viewed the receiving end of before. Why he had spoke to the woman he desired so viciously? What was it that had caused him to act in such a way?

For that matter, where was Zelda currently? Time had moved on while he lay asleep, a feeling that he is sure she knows all too well considering their shared past and future.

The Crystal of Fire

Zelda had been at the hospital most of the day, she had waited knowing that Link might awaken with the new round of heroes. As she waited she felt the dreariness she had been denying over the last month take her. Asleep he had woken and left without noticing the still goddess by his side.

When she woke she noticed his crystal was gone, her heart filled with a mixture of confused emotions and desires. She sprang up and ran to the first place that she thought the wandering hero might be.

Cold air filled her lungs as she dashed outside, her eyes set towards the warmth and gleaming company that the crystal of fire provided. She ran not stopping until she saw the familiar figure in her sight. Heavy puffs of air fell from her lips as she approached him. As she grew nearer her run turning into slow measured steps as doubt began to pierce her worry.

"Link?" It had to be him and yet her voice sounded unsure. When he turned her tone grew in strength, tears gathering in her eyes as she saw him. "You... you left the hospital! I was right there and you didn't wake me? Don't you know how worried I was?" Her voice became stern and she scolded as if a single day hadn't passed by.

[ Mikleo was momentarily stunned by the light ignited in the crystal he had like a brilliant flame. It felt almost strangely warm, but not enough to take away the thoughts he had been having since the death of many other heroes that he had traveled with. He couldn't say Heroes persay, but they were people he managed to get along with and made acquaintances in a short amount of time. Sadly enough there wasn't much he could do to stop the kind of feelings that he was having right now. He clenched the crystal close to his chest for a moment before finally looking over at the moogle.

It-- what? ]

M-Muse?

[ That was his mother's name-- but why did a moogle have it? The strangest thing also was the way she spoke and carried herself was almost exactly like his mother. At least, the little he knew about her. ]

Yes is something the matter?

[ He sighs after moment, trying to wipe that depressing look off his face. ]

No, I'm fine. Can you tell me where the Library is? I would like to read some of the old historical texts if there are any along with any other material relation to Heroes of Light and the Calamity.

[ Mysidia he was familiar with after exploring but Aqures Ixen was a mystery. ]

a. [ After a log while of exploring Aqures Ixen, Mikleo found himself in the groves of the Aqurean Forest, where he dropped his bag and other belongings to grab his mage staff. A bow and arrow seemed flexible enough for him for the time being, but without his actual Quarter Staff, it's a but hard. He specifically picked his Black Mage Staff to look similar to his own in Glennwood. Without much warning, he starts swinging the large weapon around, effortlessly.

Anyone passing by can catch him in the act of trying to make himself stronger. Without his Seraphic Artes, things were complicated to an extent. He didn't want to always rely on his job classes or his Seraphic Artes. He had to rely on other things, like his own strength, now that he was stuck as a mortal. ]

b. [ After too much training, Mikleo's leaning against a nearby tree, with his eyes closed and his bother relaxed. It seems like our favorite Water Seraph finally gave into sleep, after he was reading a book on Aqures Ixen, in which was sprawled on his lap. ]

[ Located rather far away from the city, the forest has never been a popular pick among the Heroes, and so Ace is surprised to find anyone else there. An unfamiliar face, as well, causing him to keep his distance as he silently observes the other's practice, intrigued by the somewhat unconventional use of his weapon.

( Being a Black Mage himself, he's never seen the staves to be an overly valuable asset in terms of their attack power, so there's certainly something educational about this entire show. )

Even if his presence might somehow go unnoticed, the blue Chocobo at the boy's side won't allow for such state of things to continue for too long. Should Mikleo be alarmed by any ominous rustling sounds, there's a very high possibility the culprit is a giant bird making his way through thick patches of tall grass. Kweeeh. ]

Aqures Ixen

After for surviving for so long, many of his comrades had just...died, or disappeared out of nowhere. Crystallis had signaled them a figurative middle finger, and now that they were done being used, they weren't needed anymore. It left Jaune with a terrible sinking feeling, and a toxic anger that he tried to dispel, but mostly he just felt detached. He didn't know what to make of it. The only thing he could think to do was to search for other survivors. He had to make sure some of them had made it out physically all right. It kept him busy, which kept him from thinking as much, as he looked around the city, constantly glancing over his shoulder for imagined threats.

Eventually, Luna had finally had enough of Jaune's moping and told him to stop going into the exact same shop because this was the third time he's wandered in there and if he wasn't going to pay attention then looking for other Heroes of Light was pointless and a blind gamble at best. Unable to argue, he caved and went to look at where he'd be living. He didn't plan to stick around for very long. Just enough to appease Luna. He lets himself in without knocking, finding the relative domesticity of it disconcerting compared to what he and everyone else just went through.

"Hello? Uhm...any other housemates around?" He asks without much enthusiasm or confidence.

Chrom stills, holding one of his tunics in his hands as he looks toward the hallway from within his bedroom. He'd just been packing some things for a long trip, and his travel bags were almost full. So Morgan's replacement was here already? It had been a little upsetting to clean up the younger boy's side of the room, and Chrom took care to pack up his belongings and store them away in the event that he returned.

But he wasn't going to dwell on Morgan's absence, nor did he intend to resent the new roommate for it. He was just glad that the newcomer's voice was male, as he didn't think Robin would look too pleased if he shared a room with a woman.

He emptied his hands and stepped out into the hallway, and there was Jaune, outfitted with an armor and a sword. At least they had something in common, it appeared!

"Welcome," Chrom said, striding forward with a friendly smile. "We were told someone new would be coming today. My apologies for not meeting you at the Crystal earlier." He extended his hand. "My name is Chrom. Robin and Pyrrha are sure to return soon, I'll introduce you then. Do you need help with your belongings?"

[Santa has been lying low in Trano Golsaucia since that day the other not-Heroes had died or Crystallized. Sure, a few had made it through like he had, but too many had not. It had sent him running, feeling the ghost of heat and hearing the echos of the blast of an incinerator following him.

For the first time he could recall, Santa was aimless. No plans to enact, no goals to fulfill. He had no family to protect here, and now no friends, and no way to get home to the ones he'd left behind.

Five days in to March found Santa tipsy, on his way to inebriated, by the chocobo tracks, roaring at the bird he'd bet his gil on to get its feathered ass in gear. When he finally noticed his Crystal glowing, he sighed.]

That's some bullshit right there. [He grumbled. He shoved his crystal back in his pocket and tore up the little slip of paper that recorded his chocobo bet. The damn bird had lost, anyways.]

Guess I might as well go back to Aqures Fuckin' Ixen, see what the fuck they're tryin' to pull now. If I even got the cash to get there...

[He had one of those marshmallow things now. Yeah, he knew they were called 'moogles' by now, but it pissed them off to call them 'marshmallow things', so he kept doing it. His marshmallow told him he had a house, or a room in one, and Santa figured he should go check it out.

He totally stopped on the way and dug around in his magic bag until he found a doll-sized scarf and pair of arm warmers for Crash Kupo. It was the Kurashiki aesthetic, and besides, looking at the little puffball whizzing around naked in the winter air was making Santa cold just looking at him.

Finally, when he couldn't find any more reason to put off examining his new home, he walked up to the door and went in without knocking or announcing himself. Maybe it was a byproduct of the Santa Claus job, maybe it was his rude nature, but he did not feel like he had to tiptoe around his new roommates.]

At the Crystal of Fire

[Santa sat in front of the Crystal of Fire, gazing up at it with a more serious expression than he usually showed. He had stripped off his Santa Claus jacket, and was sweating a little, from the heat of the crystal and the grim reminder of the fire that had robbed him of his sister years before.

He shut his eyes, straining to perceive something beyond sight or hearing. That lasted only a minute or two before his eyes were open again, glaring at the Crystal.]

C'mon, you asshole crystal. I'm all linked up now, [he held up his now-red crystal as if to prove it] and you're connected to home. I'm receiving, so you better fucking start transmitting.

[He went silent again, waiting, though his expression of increasing frustration made it pretty apparent that he was not pleased with the results.]

B-13--Meet Room-mate number 1

[Rude much? Betel-Po and Lydia both heard the door opening, and while it wouldn't be unusual for Nanami to be in and out, it was decidedly uncharacteristic of her to shout like that. Really--huh.

New room-mates...it...made sense. Lydia hadn't really gotten close to the other housemates they'd had, and they were gone now, so of course there were probably more. Heading downstairs, no noise or shadow thanks to her Vampire job, and dark eyes studying the newcomer.

She herself was small for a 15 year old--due for a growth-spurt. Large dark eyes, pale as a ghost, and short black hair framing her face.]

If you're living here, then yours is the double. Nanami and I both claimed the singles. No one's using the basement, although I'm not sure what Henry had been storing down there, so even though we cleaned it out, it might not be safe.

[Besides, if it WAS safe, and no one claimed it, Lydia might just move down there herself and make her own room and space.]

[Lailah looked over her file, and it was kind of odd seeing such a detailed summary of her existence back on Glennwood in which she herself couldn't discuss it. It would have made dealing with her oath a lot easier if she had something like this, but then again there was the Celestial Record recorded by Michael. She also saw her fellow seraphim's names on other files, and after a moment of consideration decided to leave them be. They were already her comrades, and if anything happened in their past they wanted to share with her, they would do so at their own timing.]

[Lailah couldn't help but drool over the sight of so many sweets, and delayed gratification was never one of her stronger suits. Ever since becoming a human hunger became a very real thing, and it gave her a new found respect of what her human companions went through on their journeys of regeneration pilgrimages paths to becoming Shepherds. Resigned to her fate, Lailah simply enjoyed the smell of sweets wafting throughout the city square as she looked around.]

[ Well, that definitely was A Thing that happened. Hinata can't say that he's not somewhat relieved that he's dead, but it still hurts that a lot of their companions are gone; either put in crystal or killed (whether or not it's in front of his eyes) and the notion just makes him sick to his stomach to the point where he wants to hurl, but he keeps it in.

And here he thought that he wouldn't have to see dead bodies again.

He seems rather gloomy for a tense couple of seconds, before he hears the all too familiar laugh of "Upupupu..." which causes him to swerve around and let out a very manly shriek. ]

Who's there?! [ He's totally expecting Monokuma and instead he gets. A moogle. That has the same color scheme.

(Just his fucking luck.) ]

Hello, Hajime. My name is Monoguri, kupo. I am here to assist you, kupo!

[ His face turns flat and he can't help but answer dryly: ] You're not planning on doing something weird to me, right?

Hah? [ There's a tilt of the moogle's head, as if Hinata called him crazy. But then, sarcasm drips from the moogle's tone. ] Of course not. That would be too excruciatingly boring to do for a newcomer, after all.

[ Okay, no, he's not dealing with this moogle, Leave Him Be-! He's just going to walk away and ignore it, even if it tries to follow him persistently. This is the worst. If he sees someone (perhaps a comrade!!) he'll ask: ]

[ Research, honestly, was a lot like investigation work. And the fact that he noticed a lot of people heading in this area means that there must be something important here. Eyes catch onto his name and he immediately decides to check it out. Hand on the mouse, unsteady, he clicks on his name, and out comes his file.

His rather detailed file. It states pretty basic things at first. Where he was born, the school he went to, and then he immediately freezes at certain, specific words.

Hope's Peak Academy. He knows it was the school he admired, but it then starts to talk about how Hinata was just an ordinary teenager, nothing special. But since he loved the school so much, to the point where he was desperate, he poured in all of his parent's money to become a part of the Reserve Course, in the hopes of eventually becoming a part of the main one. Which, naturally didn't happen.

He wants to stop reading.

But he continues, because he knows what's bound to be next.

The Kamukura Izuru Project. Followed by The First School Life of Mutual Killing. Which he actually has to pause at. Maybe there would be new information? Probably not.

He's so engrossed that he murmurs aloud, ]

"Kamukura Izuru kickstarted the Tragedy when he, along with fourteen members of Hope's Peak Academy participated in the first School Life of Mutual Killing. Supposedly, he killed all of them--" [ HA, HA, HA nope let's stop there. He's just going to delete this file or try to hide it or something.

Hopefully nobody's around to actually see this because then they'd know the truth about Hinata Hajime. That he was a killer. That he was dangerous. Hinata's face is pale at the thought of that because he doesn't want anybody to know that he was a part of Super High School Level Despair?? ]

[Hinata may recognize the young, silver-haired man as another who'd been part of their group, another survivor of a strange string of occurrences in which most of them died or turned to crystal. There's a strange spark that glitters in his emerald eyes, but whether it's madness or sadness is hard to tell. With Kadaj, it was always a little of both.

He'd only really seen the man in passing in their travels, but it was interesting to see he wasn't the only one who'd survived. His eyes dart to Hinata's moogle, then back to Hinata, gently shaking his head, making his hair fall hap-haphazardly into his eyes, but he didn't seem to mind.]

No. We're like them now, and they're all followed.

Near the Crystal of Fire
Kadaj isn't sure how long he's stood there, staring at the towering glowing crystal. The last several days have merged together into one lump of loss. It's not something he'd experienced before, but he didn't understand why he hadn't died with the rest of them. Madoka, his only friend, the person who'd taught him what 'friend' meant, had died before him, and there'd been nothing he could do to save her. Why had they been pulled here only for them to be separated? What did this world want with him that it didn't want with her? Surely she had more hope to offer this world than he did.

He was just a confused puppet with no further purpose, so why had this Crystal selected him? Why had it flared with an inner light? Why was he still here when all his friends were gone?

"Kadaj, kupo..." The plaintive voice of his newly assigned moogle chimed hesitantly from behind him. He didn't turn from staring at the crystal. "We should go somewhere else, kupo. I can show you around if you like!"

The young man with the silver hair made no effort to move, sadness glittering in his eyes, and didn't turn toward the annoying furball at his back. "Why? I don't have a place here."

"That's not true, kupo! We need you! You saw what the Calamity will do if it isn't stopped, kupo! Firsthand!"

He nods once, finally turning to the moogle furtively trying to get through to him. "I have, you're right. Calamities are made to destroy. I was made for a memory no one needs. Who am I to steal its purpose?"

All Souba, Kadaj's unfortunate new moogle, could do was look sad for the moment. "Kupo..."

B-08 | housing
Eventually, Souba was able to convince Kadaj to at least see what this place had to offer, and she urged him to visit his new home. It was a strange concept as he young silver-haired man walked into the apartment. He'd never had a home, not so conventionally anyway, not in his memory. He entered confidently enough, looking around at the surroundings with mild interest and wondering what other people might live here.

Her voice was soft whisper that was carried by the wind. She could hear the soft distress in the boys words and Zelda felt that weight of those those though she hardly knew the victims. She wished there had been something more she could do for them but there wasn't; not anymore. The most she can do was help those left.

"Excuse me, my name is Zelda. I'm one of the heroes who resides in this city."

Here to Stay: Aqures Ixen

Malik was... surprisingly fine in the wake of the madness, It hadn't been the first time he'd had been surrounded by death, nor was it likely to be the last in his life. He'd helped as best he could; moving bodies, reassuring now-faceless citizens that it was nothing contagious, giving the assurance that people were working on figuring out exactly what had happened even as he didn't actually know that they were.

It had all finally caught up with him though, and so it was that he found himself sitting on benches with his new moogle companion perched almost protectively at his left side where his empty sleeve was pinned up to his shoulder. He's tired, now that most of the immediate concerns have been taken care of.

That doesn't mean he's going to turn away anyone approaching, though Tazim is the first to chirp a greeting and nudge his side.

Home sweet... home?: C-03

Malik would have been content enough to find somewhere on a roof to sleep, but apparently he had a house and housemates here and the lure of a comfortable bed and Tazim's insistence that he use one was enough to get him there in the late afternoon once he'd been informed.

He knocks first, and won't enter until invited because while it is his house he's not going to waltz in unannounced. He knows he'd be disinclined to like anyone who did that to him.

He's managed to get a honey-sweetened pastry to help ease the introduction anyway, even if Tazim's the one holding it at the moment. "It'll be fine, kupo! You'll see." the moogle assures him.

Aqures Ixen; Other-ish

Yuffie wasn't really planning on meeting the new heroes but it keeps happening. In this case she's slipping easily through the crowd, her thin lethal frame gracefully moving between shadows and around obstacles. One obstacle got in her way unexpectedly which happens when you're running through a crowded street and a man pulling his cart stepped around the corner. She glides over the cart, her heel knocking into the wooden frame sending his oranges tumbling into the street.

Now she felt bad.

As she forced herself to stop another obstacle appeared in her path, this one human shaped. She turned just in time to see Malik and then the oranges at their feet.

"Oh shit!" Was all that left her lips as she crashed into him.

[ Kuwabara was staring at some creepy shit when he found venturing to the laboratory. Mayb he shouldn't have done that in the first place. It was hella weird finding out that people he was

traveling with ended up dying and there was still no explanation for it. On top of that he dealt with a raging burning sensation in his chest that he couldn't quite describe. In the end, he was worried

for those who had died, but there was nothing he could to save them. He felt helpless and useless for that. It only meant that he had to get stronger in order to preserve the safety of those around

him and also for himself.

He didn't want to fall behind anymore than he did at home, even if the powers and abilities were different, he wasn't giving up. ]

Damn, how do you make this thing work properly?

[ He mused mainly to himself as he eye the files. He's trying to look through his but it gave him the creeps reading on how someone was writing a third person story on his life with every little

detail inscribed into it. ]

[Moogles do more than simply talk. A number of Heroes have made use of the training hall to hone their skills and practice the abilities their jobs have granted them. After all, nobody wants to get caught by a monster without knowing how to summon a fireball to fight it.

In the case of Bonnie however, the arrival of an Assassin Mentor got the little moogle all fired up. She stabs and swings at the training dummy with her small sword, trying to push the limits of how long she can fight without tiring herself out.

Of course, no matter what she's still a little hooded fluffball trying to look fierce as she shouts and fights the sandbag to a draw.]

The Laboratory (FE: Awakening Spoilers)

[Curiosity had gotten the better of him when he'd heard about the files in the Laboratory, so he'd gone to look. Computers were still a new concept to him, but he still manages anyway.

When he does figure it out, he's rather unprepared for exactly how thorough it is. Well, almost everything, the amnesiac is a little disappointed to discover that the information pertaining to his life before he was found by Chrom, Lissa and Fredrick in that field seems to mostly be missing, but everything up until the moment he ended up in Crystallis is there.

... Although what information does seem to exist of his past confirms what he was already told by Lucina; That he was born into the Grimleal Cult, for the purpose of becoming the vessel of the Fell Dragon Grima.

His expression darkens for a moment. Then he looks around to make sure no one else is looking at the monitor, before he starts trying to puzzle out how he might be able to look it so no one else would stumble across it.

After a few moments, he sighs in mild frustration.]

How does this thing work?
[Still he's pretty determined to work this out on his own. There was less chance of someone trying to peak that way.]

[He could say this much, this housing was certainly better than living in the barracks or a tent. It was rather... homey he supposed was the word. Toting his belongs and accompanied by his Moogle, Chris, Robin stepped in through the door and glanced around.]

Beneath Nyanta's calm front, the events from the past few days still disturbed him. He lost a fair share of friends he made over the past seven months of frustration. The Werecat stands by a fountain that served as a gathering point, watching the people pass by. Some of the locals steal a glance at the tall humanoid with cat features. Lost in thought, he didn't notice a moogle approaching him until he heard her small voice.

M-Mr. Nyanta, sir? I-I'm your moogle, Serara, kupo! The name made his ears prick up. Even her pom-pom was the exact color of the Druid girl back in Elder Tale he took care of. This world certainly has a strange taste in humor. The tall Werecat smiles.

"It's a pleasure to meet mew, Serara. I'm look forward to working together, nya."

Serara blushes. She still couldn't believe she was assigned to such a cool-looking Hero of Light. Being the youngest out of her siblings and a bit of a runt, not many expected much from her. It didn't matter that Nyanta didn't look like a human like the others. He was her Hero of Light and it was her job to help in any way she can.

"There is something I wanted to do first. Care to walk with me?" Serara nodded and flies next to him as the two walk towards the nearest market areas.

It's not the Guild Hall of Log Horizon, but having a roof over his head and a bed to rest in was something he was looking forward to. He didn't come empty handed though. He had a canvas bag of groceries with him. He hope his housemates like curry and didn't have cat allergies. Being a gentleman, he knocked on the front door.

There hadn't really been anything in particular that had caught Midna's interest today, as she glided through the crowds with a distinct air of importance. Her moogle, Kulupa, was nowhere in sight, probably off on another one of her never-ending errands.

But a faint, "Hmm?" sounded from her as she noticed Nyanta walk by, and tilted her head his way with interest. The wasn't that often when non-humanoid heroes were chosen, making him stand out easily as she scanned the crowds.

"You there," she made her presence known, "are you one of those heroes that came here from Mysidia?"
