It was a massive undertaking, but he had put out the call to everyone in the area. There were stoves set up with portable heat supplies, tables and a place for music and food. The Adventurer had literally invited everyone that he could think of. Even the trio of Wedge, Cid and Biggs were invited, to foster better relationships with them, as well as the merchants and the people of the land.

The Observatory was decorated as such and with the warmer weather out, there was still things to do, places to see and people to meet. Take this time to invest in that meeting you wanted. Maybe you saw this Hero or person from over the way but never stopped to say hello. It simply isn't possible to know everyone. Until now.

Go and talk with someone, play music or perform on the dance stage, and oh, save some food for those out hunting the ridiculous Gilgamesh Quest. They'll probably be starving.

"Indeed. No one should be burdened for long, it dulls the senses and the spirit of those who endure." Picking up a soda, he looked at it. "I have not seen this before. This is one of those fizzed drinks, is it not?"

"The soda?" How long ago were those invented? At least 1000 years in the Barkeep's past, but it was difficult to judge the Adventurer's relative time period by sight. "Yeah, carbonated water with sugar and some other flavors. I got cherry and lemon with me."

"Pray, I will try the lemon," said Meteor. As for his relative time period, it was 1572 when he first vanished from Carteneau, and due to the Eorzean clock after the Calamity it was Year 5. Maybe a few months in between that too.

1572 may as well be 1890, but a request is a request. The Barkeep pulled out a bottle of lemon soda, careful not to shake it, and poured it into a glass. There was a trick to drinking it out of a bottle, and he guessed the Adventurer needed to taste test it first.

"One soda for a Hero of Light, comin' up!" He held it out for the young man to grab. "Don't drink it too fast, or the bubbles'll get up your nose."

Taking it, he saluted Barkeep with the glass. "Cheers then."

Taking a careful sip, he almost coughed but suppressed the reaction. "It's... quite the concoction." he said, shaking his head. "I've tasted everything from the wine of Ul'dah to the kegs of Buscarron and never before tried anything like this. It's good though."

The Barkeep waved his arm and lightly tapped the Adventurer's arm, trying not to laugh at his predicament. "Just-hold on, this is amazin'."

He had to laugh. It wasn't every year you saw an adult fail at drinking soda like he was five years sold.

"Sorry, but your reaction was priceless. Go on, try to drink it again, but slower."

Meteor did so, slower this time, and this time he fully appreciated the taste. "It's good," he said finally after sipping a bit of it. "It's really nice on the tongue."

"Ain't it? And it's perfect for parties with kids. Can't have only the adults have all the fun." He pulled the paella plate a bit away from the edge of the table. "What about this? Tried any yet?"

"I have not, I will though." Picking up a plate, he spooned a little into the dish and took a bite. Chewing thoughtfully, Meteor nodded in appreciation.

"It's delicious. I have never tasted such a food before."

"Ain't too common where I'm from, but it's a decent party food. It's all about the spices and vegetables." He took a plate of his own and spooned in a small bit. He tasted it often while cooking, but he couldn't pass up a taste during the event. "Sorta like a stew, only better."

"Much better than a stew," he agreed, taking another bite. "This is delicious, thank you for bringing it to the party."
