Intro Log || Puppets
Characters: All the "Heroes of Light" (only new characters can start threads).
Where: Aqures Ixen.
When: The 5th of May. The new Heroes of Light will awaken early in the morning.
Summary: The new Heroes of Light awaken in Aqures Ixen and are informed by their assigned Moogles of what the situation and what their destinies are. This a log for them to react to the situation, meet each other and be welcomed by the former batches of Heroes of Light.
Warning: N/A.
The Hospital
— Anytime —
Characters who have already been in Crystallis before do not wake up by the Crystal of Fire like everyone else. Instead, they will wake up in the Hospital of Aqures Ixen, in a room where there are over a hundred of other Heroes of Light like them-- Maybe even some familiar faces... Except they're all in Crystal Stasis.
A couple Moogles and a few nurses will be waiting by the room, and they will welcome all characters waking up. Upon exiting the room, they will also meet a lot of guards, and they all have for order to shoot anyone that comes out of this room without a Moogle. Hopefully you won't try running out without waiting for your Moogle. As for why the guards are so on edge, it might be a good idea to ask the other Heroes of Light about what happened last year.
Close Encounters of the Third Kind
— 12:00 —
Characters venturing by between the Airport this specific time will be able to see a most peculiar sight: a flying saucer seemingly abducting a Hypello before flying away and disappearing into the sky without leaving any traces of its presence. Was it an UFO or just a hallucination?
Previous sightings of such a thing have happened. Maybe we are on the verge of a full-scale alien invasion... Or not really.

Where you were or what you were doing— It does not really matter. Not any more. Within an instant, the world around you collapses. Reality twists and shatters... Or maybe you are the one who is collapsing and shattering away from reality as you knew it. No matter what the answer is, it will only take a few seconds for you to find yourself sinking into a void, your world vanishing into the distance. There is nothing but darkness as far as the eye can see. Even you feel different: all the powers you might once have had, are now gone. It is silent, cold and it feels as though life itself is slipping out of you.
At this moment, when it looks as though nothing but a never-ending void awaits you, a red Crystal forms before you. In this void, its warmth compels you to grab it. Upon doing so, you can hear a soft, soothing voice speaking:
"Wake up."
Soon, the void itself vanishes and is replaced by distant noises of engines. Had it all been nothing more than a dream? The soothing voice repeats its call one more time, but is soon replaced with a much less graceful "Wake up Kupo." Hand clutched on your Crystal, the call of the Moogle may finally wake you up. But you are no longer in your world, nor in the void. You are before the Crystal of Fire, in the third district of a city called Aqures Ixen. At this point, you may realize the engine noise actually originates from an Airship flying low over the city and headed to dock beneath the castle. As if it wasn't strange enough, your clothes have changed as well. They are now a reflection of the Jobs you are wielding. Last but not least, you are surrounded by Moogles, small and fluffy creatures who are more than happy to tell you about everything you want to know, about your 'destiny' as a Hero of Light, about what awaits you.
Or at least, they will tell you everything they do know, which isn't much in the end.
The only people around you are like you-- There are quite a few of them, all clothed in their Job garbs and most likely wondering what is happening. If somehow you do not realize it, the Moogle who woke you up will be more than happy to inform you there are others like you around. In fact, there are other Heroes who have arrived in the course of the past year and they will come soon! Like you, they have Jobs and a Crystal.
If asked, the Moogles will mention that the Heroes of Light - that is to say you - are fighting against time to save Crystallis from the Calamity that is about to awaken to devour the entire world. Well, that is if you don't die or crystallize first.
The Other Heroes
— Shortly Thereafter —
Thanks to the efficiency of Mognet, it does not take long for the other Heroes to come around: those who arrived in this world within the past year. You may have imagined heroic and charismatic figures when your Moogle told you that there were other Heroes of Light in this city. You may have imagined persons with fearsome powers when they told you about how they managed to push back the Empire and defeat gigantic beasts in the past. And more importantly, you may have imagined them as people who would have all the answers to your, doubtlessly, numerous questions.
If so, you may be up for a tragic disappointment. Still, for the most part they know more than you on the situation and may be more than happy to fill you in, especially if your Moogle didn't tell you much.
The City of Aqures Ixen
— Anytime —
With the Triple Triad World Championship nearing, there are a lot of folks working hard to set up the upcoming event! Noticeably a lot of Triple Triad players eager to defy anyone they pass by for a chance at honing their skills, and people from Trano Golsaucia as they're working on the stadium.
And besides card games, there are a lot of things to do in the city for newcomers. Moogles are working hard in Mognet Office of the ninth district and there is a Blitzball Game between kid teams happening at 16:00! Characters are also free to visit the city-- They can visit Airship Port in the twelfth district from where characters can board for free Airships from Shoopuf Airline.
Or maybe you could visit your new house in the 11th District, and get to know your new neighbors and housemate. Hopefully your neighbors are people you will get along with.
The Laboratory
— Anytime —
A location where a lot of Heroes of Light seem to be gathering is Palitutu's Laboratory. It is a place where employed characters can research into various topics. However, most importantly, characters can see a file with their name...
Should your character decide to go there and peek at their file, there are two possibilities. Either the file is corrupted and they cannot access it: too bad for them, but at least their life will remain a mystery. Or should you decide the file isn't corrupted, they will find a summary of their lives up to their canon point, as if written by a third-person omniscient narrator. On the column left to the text, to the top there is a portrait of them, and beneath it there is a 3D model of them. Said portrait and model can be switched to any year of their life. At the bottom there is a percentage, indicating 0%. On the right column, there are various links, most of which are grayed out. The clickable links lead to their Homeworld History and their future post-canon point history (corrupted file for unfinished canons).
At least, they can lock this file away if they don't want anyone to see it.

We're all Heroes, so we're all in the same boat. Gotta watch each other's backs, you know? But suit yourself, my friend.
Yep, that's right. [He seems very proud to answer that question.] I was before I got here, and still today.
no subject
[He's trying his best not to sound annoyed, actually, which is a small miracle; Ed seems like a nice guy, so it's easy not to sound extremely pissed off. He just doesn't like the 'Hero' word, can't apply it to himself...not ever.]
I've...only ever heard of them. What do they...what do you do? Tell me about that.
[He's a little eager to change the subject.]
no subject
I get it, I get it. You and a lot of others. But I've got to call the group of us something, even if it's the huge misnomer we've all been tagged with.
[He is, however, more than glad to talk about alchemy.]
A lot of things, really, but mostly it boils down to chemistry and magic working together. I work mostly in potions, but there's also areas like transmutation or homunculi... Those are a lot more tightly controlled where I come from, though. I'm curious to hear what you know about them, though.
no subject
[Brought in to fix problems that aren't their own. He snorts. It's an amusing way to look at as far as he thinks.]
Alchemists are...I dunno. Old potionmakers. Apothecaries. I've only heard 'em mentioned, they don't really exist where I come from. I think.
[Like mythical elders mentioned in fairy tales or something.]
It sounds like a lot of work.
no subject
Does that mean they have other magic where you're from? [He'd always curious to hear how it works elsewhere. Though it dawns on him he doesn't even know this guy's name yet. After a moment he offers up a hand with a sheepish grin.]
Oh, sorry. My name's Ed, by the way. Ed Grayson.
no subject
[Ed seems pretty proud of that fact, so Dylas won't tell him that it sounds like a job perfect for someone with nothing else to do.]
That's pretty impressive. [His tone is flat, though it's been like that the entire time. As he's not angry, he's not emoting much at all.] I've been to two worlds aside from this one, and each has a different kind of magic.
[He should say something else, right? He holds out his hand after a moment, though Ed might want to be careful of his claws if he tries to shake it too hard.]
I'd say it's nice to meet you, but I'm not really happy to be here.
[He sounds a little sorry. At least he's honest?]
no subject
[He nods, understanding.]
Trust me, I get it. This place wouldn't be too bad, except that whole part where they kidnap us and tell us we're supposed to save the world now. Doesn't mean we can't make the best of it. Maybe once we get this world in order, people can go home.
no subject
I haven't even started thinking about that yet. I'm...a Vampire, apparently.
[And that makes him a little uncomfortable, but he feels guilty enough not to worry about changing it.]
I hope you find your way home, then. Before the world ends or...whatever's happening. I'm still catching up.
[He's not going to say "I want to get home," because, well, that's complicated.]
no subject
[Vampire had sounded like a hassle to him, personally.
Ed shrugs, looking a little uncertain about that whole "find your way home" comment.]
I'm not completely sure I'm going to leave yet, myself. It's complicated, I won't get all into it, but things are better for me here, really. Minus the whole Calamity situation, of course. But if we can solve that, then hey, great!
no subject
[And after months and months of being treated like a monster, he almost feels like not being a vampire would make things worse somehow. His thoughts on the matter are complicated and painful.]
It's not any of my business. [He nods at Ed saying he doesn't want to get into it.] I'm not going home either. Not if I can help it. That part's easy to figure out at least.
no subject
[He doesn't want to be a bummer, though.] And hey, there are some upsides! Free room and board, for one thing. Though I'm splitting the place with three other people, you can't beat free. And the people in this town seem pretty fond of the Heroes, so that's pretty good too.
no subject
[Is he saying he'd rather be destroyed than keep living here? ...Maybe. His feelings are complicated, confused, and buried. He sighs.]
That's the worst part. I don't need people all over me. People aren't my thing. Most of the time, I mean, you seem...alright, I think.
no subject
He laughs a little at that last comment, giving it a quick shrug.]
Eh, only on my best days do I make it as far as "alright". But I appreciate it anyway. If you can't handle roommates, you can always find yourself a job - the paying kind - and get your own place. I'm working on renovating the room above my shop for that. I need more space.
no subject
[He'd had a few before. The attorney with an eagle. The polite lady. The dog who thought he was a dog but then turned into a dog. And then there was the tall guy, he liked him.
He misses them.]
I don't really want any of those. [He looks a little annoyed at this new development. What is he going to do about that? Staying with humans would be weird after all the time he spent...well. Not staying with them.] I'm not...good...with people.
[He wants the earth to bury him right now. He's not doing well.]
no subject
If you want a free roof over your head, that's the deal we've got right now. Maybe you'll luck out and they'll assign you to one of the houses that only has one other person in it. I didn't; I've got 3 roommates. There's never, ever any hot water left.
[He rolls his eyes. Lust is a terrible roommate.]
no subject
[He seems a little distracted as he says that, looking away for a brief moment. He doesn't want to open up too much, but finally finding someone to talk to who doesn't make him feel guilty is a good thing. He wants to keep talking.
The mention of hot water has him wondering if he'll feel that. He used to be unable to feel cold. The cold showers he's taken would frighten Ed. He can feel heat again, though, so maybe?]
I wonder what a shower feels like. [He just mutters that to himself, then snaps back to attention. He's a little dazed.] Hey. What are you doing right now?
no subject
Inviting a guy to shower with ya? But we just met!
[Though he's not sure how much of a sense of humor this guy has right now. Maybe he should have kept his mouth closed.]
All I was doing was taking groceries home. A Hero's life is a thrill a minute.
no subject
[But the accusation is enough to get him to blush. Dammit, Ed, and he thought he was this close to being okay with this human. In his frustration, he grinds one of his hooves into the ground a few times.]
Go, then! Go...put your groceries away. The sooner, the better.
[He'd wanted to ask more, but now he's not so sure.]
no subject
Thought that was an obvious joke, but okay. Admittedly I've never been the best comedian around.
[He feels like he's done as much diplomacy as he can manage in one day, and starts to walk off, still sounding pleasant, at least.]
I'm sure you'll figure all this stuff out. Take it easy.
