Intro Log || Puppets

Characters: All the "Heroes of Light" (only new characters can start threads).
Where: Aqures Ixen.
When: The 5th of May. The new Heroes of Light will awaken early in the morning.
Summary: The new Heroes of Light awaken in Aqures Ixen and are informed by their assigned Moogles of what the situation and what their destinies are. This a log for them to react to the situation, meet each other and be welcomed by the former batches of Heroes of Light.
Warning: N/A.

Where you were or what you were doing— It does not really matter. Not any more. Within an instant, the world around you collapses. Reality twists and shatters... Or maybe you are the one who is collapsing and shattering away from reality as you knew it. No matter what the answer is, it will only take a few seconds for you to find yourself sinking into a void, your world vanishing into the distance. There is nothing but darkness as far as the eye can see. Even you feel different: all the powers you might once have had, are now gone. It is silent, cold and it feels as though life itself is slipping out of you.

At this moment, when it looks as though nothing but a never-ending void awaits you, a red Crystal forms before you. In this void, its warmth compels you to grab it. Upon doing so, you can hear a soft, soothing voice speaking:

"Wake up."

Soon, the void itself vanishes and is replaced by distant noises of engines. Had it all been nothing more than a dream? The soothing voice repeats its call one more time, but is soon replaced with a much less graceful "Wake up Kupo." Hand clutched on your Crystal, the call of the Moogle may finally wake you up. But you are no longer in your world, nor in the void. You are before the Crystal of Fire, in the third district of a city called Aqures Ixen. At this point, you may realize the engine noise actually originates from an Airship flying low over the city and headed to dock beneath the castle. As if it wasn't strange enough, your clothes have changed as well. They are now a reflection of the Jobs you are wielding. Last but not least, you are surrounded by Moogles, small and fluffy creatures who are more than happy to tell you about everything you want to know, about your 'destiny' as a Hero of Light, about what awaits you.

Or at least, they will tell you everything they do know, which isn't much in the end.

The only people around you are like you-- There are quite a few of them, all clothed in their Job garbs and most likely wondering what is happening. If somehow you do not realize it, the Moogle who woke you up will be more than happy to inform you there are others like you around. In fact, there are other Heroes who have arrived in the course of the past year and they will come soon! Like you, they have Jobs and a Crystal.

If asked, the Moogles will mention that the Heroes of Light - that is to say you - are fighting against time to save Crystallis from the Calamity that is about to awaken to devour the entire world. Well, that is if you don't die or crystallize first.

The Other Heroes
— Shortly Thereafter —

Thanks to the efficiency of Mognet, it does not take long for the other Heroes to come around: those who arrived in this world within the past year. You may have imagined heroic and charismatic figures when your Moogle told you that there were other Heroes of Light in this city. You may have imagined persons with fearsome powers when they told you about how they managed to push back the Empire and defeat gigantic beasts in the past. And more importantly, you may have imagined them as people who would have all the answers to your, doubtlessly, numerous questions.

If so, you may be up for a tragic disappointment. Still, for the most part they know more than you on the situation and may be more than happy to fill you in, especially if your Moogle didn't tell you much.

The City of Aqures Ixen
— Anytime —

With the Triple Triad World Championship nearing, there are a lot of folks working hard to set up the upcoming event! Noticeably a lot of Triple Triad players eager to defy anyone they pass by for a chance at honing their skills, and people from Trano Golsaucia as they're working on the stadium.

And besides card games, there are a lot of things to do in the city for newcomers. Moogles are working hard in Mognet Office of the ninth district and there is a Blitzball Game between kid teams happening at 16:00! Characters are also free to visit the city-- They can visit Airship Port in the twelfth district from where characters can board for free Airships from Shoopuf Airline.

Or maybe you could visit your new house in the 11th District, and get to know your new neighbors and housemate. Hopefully your neighbors are people you will get along with.

The Laboratory
— Anytime —

A location where a lot of Heroes of Light seem to be gathering is Palitutu's Laboratory. It is a place where employed characters can research into various topics. However, most importantly, characters can see a file with their name...

Should your character decide to go there and peek at their file, there are two possibilities. Either the file is corrupted and they cannot access it: too bad for them, but at least their life will remain a mystery. Or should you decide the file isn't corrupted, they will find a summary of their lives up to their canon point, as if written by a third-person omniscient narrator. On the column left to the text, to the top there is a portrait of them, and beneath it there is a 3D model of them. Said portrait and model can be switched to any year of their life. At the bottom there is a percentage, indicating 0%. On the right column, there are various links, most of which are grayed out. The clickable links lead to their Homeworld History and their future post-canon point history (corrupted file for unfinished canons).

At least, they can lock this file away if they don't want anyone to see it.

The Hospital
— Anytime —

Characters who have already been in Crystallis before do not wake up by the Crystal of Fire like everyone else. Instead, they will wake up in the Hospital of Aqures Ixen, in a room where there are over a hundred of other Heroes of Light like them-- Maybe even some familiar faces... Except they're all in Crystal Stasis.

A couple Moogles and a few nurses will be waiting by the room, and they will welcome all characters waking up. Upon exiting the room, they will also meet a lot of guards, and they all have for order to shoot anyone that comes out of this room without a Moogle. Hopefully you won't try running out without waiting for your Moogle. As for why the guards are so on edge, it might be a good idea to ask the other Heroes of Light about what happened last year.

Close Encounters of the Third Kind
— 12:00 —

Characters venturing by between the Airport this specific time will be able to see a most peculiar sight: a flying saucer seemingly abducting a Hypello before flying away and disappearing into the sky without leaving any traces of its presence. Was it an UFO or just a hallucination?

Previous sightings of such a thing have happened. Maybe we are on the verge of a full-scale alien invasion... Or not really.

Blake wheeled around. "I'm going to find who did this and make them answer for it!"

She says that in a way that implies she is completely sincere. If she finds who is dragging people here against their will, she will tear them a new one.

Then she notices the tail and her eyes widen a bit. "Are you from Remnant?"

Another Faunus?

K'pandolu nodded, a frown on her face as she tucked her hands behind her. "I fear the people who began this process are unlikely to still be around," she said. Garland was connected, as best she knew, but she wasn't entirely sure how far that went. "But I think finding the mechanism- whatever it might be behind bringing us here would be of use."

She blinked, surprised, before shaking her head, expression apologetic. "I'm afraid not. I…" She paused for a beat- but she was fairly sure she knew why the other had asked, and it was sure to come out sooner or later. "I'm a miqo'te, come from the lands of Eorzea. K'pandolu Tohka." She held out a hand, waiting to see if it would be taken.

"Well obviously someone did this!" Blake protested, grappling for anything rational, that made sense. "Are you saying some random powers that be just zapped us here?!"

She usually wouldn't be yelling, but she tended to not hold it together well when her emotions were running high. Most of the time she kept it together. But she had recently left behind everything and everyone that mattered to her and was basically waiting for the moment her past caught up to her again. The next time it did, it would either kill her or...she'd have to kill. That was the most likely scenario. And now she woke up and was told to believe she was some hero in another reality.

It wasn't even that it had been a bad day. The whole month was just bad. She felt a little bad about yelling at someone who wasn't really at fault, so she didn't reject the girl's hand.

"I'm Blake. I can't say I've ever heard of any of those places."

K'pandolu shook her head, lips tightening. "No- it must have been something that was put in place to bring us here. But the people who initiated it are surely deceased by now." She tapped her cheek briefly. "That's why it won't be that simple, much as we might wish otherwise."

Her ears twitched back, but mostly to try to cut out some of the sound than anything else. K'pandolu had on more than one occasion felt that this world was just trying to beat them all down- but she'd endured this long. If she could help others to keep standing as well… perhaps they could still make it.

She shook her head, expression turning wistful, and shook Blake's hand one before letting go. "I didn't think you would," she admitted. "There are so many people, from so many worlds…" Even if most of them did seem to be hyurs, or hyur-like. "But I believe there are a few others who come from Remnant- Pyrrha Nikos and Ruby Rose. Do you know them?"

It was awful that so many people were dragged into this, but also good in a way - sheer numbers could turn the tide in fighting back. Whether it was someone still around running the show or something left in place that was causing this. She froze at the names, eyeing the other girl warily.

"I do," she said. "But one of them has.....has recently passed."

Passed. That was a strange way to put it. Passed, like something passing by, like something in a cycle, like they were just away for a while and not gone.

K'pandolu stilled, ears and the tip of her tail flicking up. "Passed…?" They were dead, back in Remnant? But- they seemed so healthy- so lively-

But she'd seen Gaius van Baelsar alive here, when she'd known him to be dead in Eorzea. So-

"It… whatever it is that brings us here, it seems able to bring people from… after their time," she said, awkwardly, voice dropping slightly. The less a conversation like this spread, the better. "They were both hale and hearty, the last I saw of them. If you wanted to speak to them, you could." Her tail twitched, betraying concern. She wasn't sure which of the two Blake meant, and didn't entirely want to be sure, but she hoped that could help in whatever way it could.

That certainly gave her a turn. She could argue about how impossible that was if not for the things she'd already seen and heard. She wondered if Pyrrha knew what had happened to her. If she didn't know, telling her might just be cruel. But there was a spark of hope for the first time in Blake's eyes since arriving here as well.

"Does that mean that they can go home the same way they woke up here?" she asked.

Which was a moot question if no one had ever managed to do that, but she needed to ask. She needed for something to be good news.

To the best of K'pandolu's knowledge, none of the people summoned to this world had ever managed to return- something she hated the very thought of- but she felt sure that that was not what Blake wanted or needed to hear.

"When we find a way to escape from all of this- I'm sure they'll be able to find their way in life wherever they go," she said, voice firm, a slight stress on the when. Assuming they managed it- to escape from the cycles- they'd only deserve it.
