Intro Log || Puppets
Characters: All the "Heroes of Light" (only new characters can start threads).
Where: Aqures Ixen.
When: The 5th of May. The new Heroes of Light will awaken early in the morning.
Summary: The new Heroes of Light awaken in Aqures Ixen and are informed by their assigned Moogles of what the situation and what their destinies are. This a log for them to react to the situation, meet each other and be welcomed by the former batches of Heroes of Light.
Warning: N/A.
The Hospital
— Anytime —
Characters who have already been in Crystallis before do not wake up by the Crystal of Fire like everyone else. Instead, they will wake up in the Hospital of Aqures Ixen, in a room where there are over a hundred of other Heroes of Light like them-- Maybe even some familiar faces... Except they're all in Crystal Stasis.
A couple Moogles and a few nurses will be waiting by the room, and they will welcome all characters waking up. Upon exiting the room, they will also meet a lot of guards, and they all have for order to shoot anyone that comes out of this room without a Moogle. Hopefully you won't try running out without waiting for your Moogle. As for why the guards are so on edge, it might be a good idea to ask the other Heroes of Light about what happened last year.
Close Encounters of the Third Kind
— 12:00 —
Characters venturing by between the Airport this specific time will be able to see a most peculiar sight: a flying saucer seemingly abducting a Hypello before flying away and disappearing into the sky without leaving any traces of its presence. Was it an UFO or just a hallucination?
Previous sightings of such a thing have happened. Maybe we are on the verge of a full-scale alien invasion... Or not really.

Where you were or what you were doing— It does not really matter. Not any more. Within an instant, the world around you collapses. Reality twists and shatters... Or maybe you are the one who is collapsing and shattering away from reality as you knew it. No matter what the answer is, it will only take a few seconds for you to find yourself sinking into a void, your world vanishing into the distance. There is nothing but darkness as far as the eye can see. Even you feel different: all the powers you might once have had, are now gone. It is silent, cold and it feels as though life itself is slipping out of you.
At this moment, when it looks as though nothing but a never-ending void awaits you, a red Crystal forms before you. In this void, its warmth compels you to grab it. Upon doing so, you can hear a soft, soothing voice speaking:
"Wake up."
Soon, the void itself vanishes and is replaced by distant noises of engines. Had it all been nothing more than a dream? The soothing voice repeats its call one more time, but is soon replaced with a much less graceful "Wake up Kupo." Hand clutched on your Crystal, the call of the Moogle may finally wake you up. But you are no longer in your world, nor in the void. You are before the Crystal of Fire, in the third district of a city called Aqures Ixen. At this point, you may realize the engine noise actually originates from an Airship flying low over the city and headed to dock beneath the castle. As if it wasn't strange enough, your clothes have changed as well. They are now a reflection of the Jobs you are wielding. Last but not least, you are surrounded by Moogles, small and fluffy creatures who are more than happy to tell you about everything you want to know, about your 'destiny' as a Hero of Light, about what awaits you.
Or at least, they will tell you everything they do know, which isn't much in the end.
The only people around you are like you-- There are quite a few of them, all clothed in their Job garbs and most likely wondering what is happening. If somehow you do not realize it, the Moogle who woke you up will be more than happy to inform you there are others like you around. In fact, there are other Heroes who have arrived in the course of the past year and they will come soon! Like you, they have Jobs and a Crystal.
If asked, the Moogles will mention that the Heroes of Light - that is to say you - are fighting against time to save Crystallis from the Calamity that is about to awaken to devour the entire world. Well, that is if you don't die or crystallize first.
The Other Heroes
— Shortly Thereafter —
Thanks to the efficiency of Mognet, it does not take long for the other Heroes to come around: those who arrived in this world within the past year. You may have imagined heroic and charismatic figures when your Moogle told you that there were other Heroes of Light in this city. You may have imagined persons with fearsome powers when they told you about how they managed to push back the Empire and defeat gigantic beasts in the past. And more importantly, you may have imagined them as people who would have all the answers to your, doubtlessly, numerous questions.
If so, you may be up for a tragic disappointment. Still, for the most part they know more than you on the situation and may be more than happy to fill you in, especially if your Moogle didn't tell you much.
The City of Aqures Ixen
— Anytime —
With the Triple Triad World Championship nearing, there are a lot of folks working hard to set up the upcoming event! Noticeably a lot of Triple Triad players eager to defy anyone they pass by for a chance at honing their skills, and people from Trano Golsaucia as they're working on the stadium.
And besides card games, there are a lot of things to do in the city for newcomers. Moogles are working hard in Mognet Office of the ninth district and there is a Blitzball Game between kid teams happening at 16:00! Characters are also free to visit the city-- They can visit Airship Port in the twelfth district from where characters can board for free Airships from Shoopuf Airline.
Or maybe you could visit your new house in the 11th District, and get to know your new neighbors and housemate. Hopefully your neighbors are people you will get along with.
The Laboratory
— Anytime —
A location where a lot of Heroes of Light seem to be gathering is Palitutu's Laboratory. It is a place where employed characters can research into various topics. However, most importantly, characters can see a file with their name...
Should your character decide to go there and peek at their file, there are two possibilities. Either the file is corrupted and they cannot access it: too bad for them, but at least their life will remain a mystery. Or should you decide the file isn't corrupted, they will find a summary of their lives up to their canon point, as if written by a third-person omniscient narrator. On the column left to the text, to the top there is a portrait of them, and beneath it there is a 3D model of them. Said portrait and model can be switched to any year of their life. At the bottom there is a percentage, indicating 0%. On the right column, there are various links, most of which are grayed out. The clickable links lead to their Homeworld History and their future post-canon point history (corrupted file for unfinished canons).
At least, they can lock this file away if they don't want anyone to see it.

With how much he's slowly accumulating on their walk over, Yuffie doesn't seem to need to worry about Zidane being a cheap date either.
Looking over the tavern, the blonde feels a nostalgic smile tug on his face at the look. Taverns like this were always a welcome place for a thief like him, slip a few coins and the owners usually turned the other way. Though not always the case.
"Looks like a good place to eat. Hope their special's decent." Opening the door to the tavern, the blonde motions for his 'guide' to enter first.

Yuffie continued to keep her wide smile pulled across her lips. She stepped inside with a light gate, holding up her hand to say hello to the man behind the counter. He clearly knew Yuffie though it was hard to say if that was a good thing or a bad thing from his greeting. She found them a table towards the back, and placed herself against the wall allowing Zidane the choice of the chair next to her or across from her.
"Zidane." She repeated his name with a grin. "It's a cute name though I might still think of something better to call you." She was teasing, feeling a little flirty next to the cute new comer.

Taking the seat next to Yuffie, the thief coiled his tail around to rest on his lap, turning slightly to face his cute ninja guide.
"Nicknames already huh? You certainly like to move fast don't you?" he teases, though the smirk on his face shows he's not adverse to this idea. "Maybe I should think up one for you too."
no subject
“I like names.” She was at least honest about that. “Besides, I have a feeling we’re a lot alike in most ways.”
Yuffie grinned at him, very much implying the nature of his professor. Her large dark almond eyes glance over towards the bar where she waved to get someone to come take their order. This wasn’t the sort of place with a menu. They had grilled whatever they could catch and a special.
no subject
"Oh, you noticed huh? I think it safe to say you're of a similar way as me in that regard if you've not said anything about it."
Once the waiter came over Zidane shifted a bit to pull out some of his newly 'found' Gil. " Let me have whatever your special is. And whatever the lady wants. I am treating after all.". He turns to face Yuffie, tail waggling teasingly at the ninja. "Consider this payment for being my tour guide in top of hangin with a great guy like me."
no subject
“I think I get the deal out of this since you are so amazing.” Her tone remains light and teasing. “And you can say I have talented fingers.”
Yuffie might be flirting too much but it’s far too much fun to stop and with everything being so serious lately, where was the fun? She needed the fun back.
no subject
Zidane sees no problem with flirting the day away. Having a cute girl to mess around with and not have to worry about being suddenly launched into a new world where who knows what the hell is going on, is a good time for him. He can worry about any impending doom or international war or whatever is the problem later.
"Maybe we should see about teaming up sometime. I'm sure there's a lot the two of us could get up to."
no subject
"Yeah? I don't think the world could handle our team." Yuffie winked, her smile fixed in place. Her eyes didn't stray far from Zidane though she occasionally let her gaze flick around the room. It'd become a habit.
As she spoke their food arrived at the table. The special today was a thick and chunky beef stew. Steam curled above the bowls while crispy pieces of freshly baked bread rested on the plates next to them. Yuffie's stomach rumbled angrily as the smell hit her.
no subject
Zidane certainly took note of Yuffie's eyes shifting around, the thief taking his own discreet looks to ensure that she wasn't looking at something he needed to devote attention to.
Once the food arrived, Yuffie's stomach wasn't the only one to rumble, a smaller grin tugging on Zidane's lips even as he picked up a piece of the bread to scoop the stew onto. "Well, why don't we eat, and if there's anything you think I should know about this world, tell me."
no subject
She tore at her own bread but took a bite of the crispy warm doughy center before dipping the crust into her soup. She has a particularly way of eating somethings though she usually just shoveled food into her mouth. The warmth and hearty taste filled her mouth and brought a smile to her lips. At Zidane’s question she hummed softly, taking another bite before replying.
“I guess that really depends on important.” She took a spoon full of soup next, swallowing and then continuing. “To start, whatever your moogle does say is probably true. This world really likes to fuck with us and bring up the past or things that it thinks make you weaker. Kalki is a bitch. Palitutu is also a bitch though one that’s still alive.”
..what else did Yuffie consider important knowledge…
no subject
"Mmm...sounds pretty harsh. Though it does remind me of home." Speaking of which...Zidane now has to wonder if there was a portal connecting the worlds together.
Something...
"Any idea if a portal exists around here that leads to other realms or worlds?" If there was, they could just put people out of the world and into another. The Calamity was only on this world after all right?
Though on a lighter note, the blonde couldn't help but try to alleviate the tension about the world's impending doom.
"More importantly...are you single?" Cue the return of his cheeky grin.
no subject
"The portal is through our Crystals. Don't ask how because I have no idea." She just knew that had something to do with it. Her own crystal was white but considering the number of times she's died in Crystallis it ought to be midnight black.
His last question made Yuffie pause and blink. While teasing was fun she hadn't actually thought he'd ask that. After the moment's shock wears away she returns his grin. "Maybe~" Oh, she was most definately single and Zidane was earning a lot of brownie points but she was going to play the game of chase for as long as she possible could.
no subject
Zidane blinks as he gets that avoiding answer to his teasing question, the blonde settling back to chuckle lightly. "Sly aren't you?" He's definitely going to be visiting Yuffie often. She's been a bundle of laughs and willing to go along with his flirting.
"On a more serious note again, I have to ask. Does anyone know what the Calamity even looks like? Is it an actual dark entity or is it some miasma or something?" Because if it was an entity, Zidane's had experience fighting something strong enough to end worlds.
no subject
"Ask away." She replied, knowing the need for serious questions. "Oh. That's easy. Yes. The Calamity is a large crystal that is currently swallowing Crystallis." She wiggled her hips slightly before pulling a map from her back pocket. She carefully laid it out on the table, mindful of the food.
Drawn in a bright red was a series of circles, mapping the Calamities growth. "I haven't updated this in a bit but this..." She pointed to inside the red circles. "Is where the Calamity is. It grows faster when our crystals get close to it."
no subject
Watching the ninja mark circles on the map, the genome looked it over carefully, trying to figure how it's moving. "How much faster does it grow? Because with enough power it is possible to shatter a crystal. My brother almost did that back home."
Yes...brother...that was a slightly awkward word for him to use all things considered, but Kuja techincally was his brother.
"...Not sure if we can pull it off though. He was trying to use some really powerful magic to do it."
no subject
"I haven't done the math." Yuffie and math was dicey at best. Her traps might work better if she actually did more math. "Yeah Crystal's here seem to absorb power so I'd be careful about that." Something clicked in Yuffie's head. "Which might be why it grows faster when we're there with our crystals..." She was a little surprise that it made so much sense.
"If your brother was here... I'd say maybe. Otherwise you should get a second opinion."
